and we refunded people as I said.

I can confirm he did take care of my lost coins.

The server crash lost accounting for about 1.5% of all the coins that were mined through his pool, and he did compensate me. It's really a rather small amount. I think people are just mad because the pool is doing so well. TBH, I was getting a lot of orphans on the other pools. I lost more coin at lot.no-ip.biz through the orphans that I was getting than the extra 1.5% fee I was saving by mining there. Sure my "coins are safer", but I was just getting less of them too. Not to mention they were down just as much as any other pool.

Deviant, I think you should consider disabling registration temporarily to help spread the incoming hashrate around to different pools. One pool carrying 50-60% of the network is never a good idea.  Wink

HackShardGaming: Whats wrong with this pool?
Every 15 minutes mining stops and after a while starts again and so on...annoying Angry

Will my unconfirmed rewards every time lost, when it stops mining on pplns?

All of the LOT pools were getting DDOS'ed last night. He had to reset the DB, and either there are stability issues or he is still getting attacked.

Just use: http://lot.no-ip.biz until it comes back up.  Smiley Watch out for the 10 LOT TX Fee though...  Roll Eyes

I see you have reset your pool again causing me to lose all my coins AGAIN..   nice work.
Your pool is a joke.

There's no reason to be a douche. Hackshardgaming's pool is not a joke, not even close with the coin's I've been pulling out of there. Trust me, I lost way more than you when the DB crashed, and I never thought twice about continuing to use it. The DB getting damaged was not within his control. It's the wild west out here; you're gonna lose a wagon or two from time to time.  Wink

RE: Coinbomb

It's not a scam eh? The whole thing depends on eventually some poor sap dumping millions of coins into a prize he won't be able to collect, so the guys before him can continue to get paid.

Quote from: Wikipeida
A Ponzi scheme is a fraudulent investment operation that pays returns to its investors from existing capital or new capital paid by new investors, rather than from profit earned by the individual or organization running the operation. Operators of Ponzi schemes usually entice new investors by offering higher returns than other investments, in the form of short-term returns that are either abnormally high or unusually consistent. The perpetuation of the high returns requires an ever-increasing flow of money from new investors to sustain the scheme.

Maybe it's not a scam, but it is a scheme, even if it's upfront about it. I know how it ends, and thank you, but I don't think anyone should play this particular "game" that requires you to try to screw someone to keep from getting screwed.  Roll Eyes

You know, in the end, the operator is the biggest benefactor. When the "investments" finally fail to pay out, he collects the largest win possible.

Look at darknight smash that pool lol Makes me wanna cry looking at his KH/s

I'm actually having a little bit of trouble keeping everything on line. Between the random disconnects to the two pools I'm connected to and the software glitches, it's frustrating. Working on it though.  Wink

Can someone please explain how Coinbomb works? I'm sure it's legitimate, but it doesn't seem so at first blush. Feels like scam to get coin.

Payout threshold changed to 100k

Thanks!

Should be working perfect now.  I'm seeing people range from 16 difficulty all the way up to 2000 difficulty.

Not to mention our hash rate has doubled since I adjusted everything.  And I'm sure its correct this time.  so we are more then 50% of the network.

I think you have the max difficulty too high. I was getting hit with 4000 while you were playing with it and moved to another pool. I'm now seeing 2000. I'm getting barely 1-2 SPM.  Undecided

Also, you need to raise the max payout threshold; 35000 is a bit low right now.

What's everyone getting for block rewards now? It seems it just tightened up like 10 fold?!

As I read it, it's an inconsistently variable reward. Also, the network difficulty is going up.

Very Exciting to get in when a coin launches. Putting Several MH/s on a couple pools just for this.  Grin

It is there to prevent spam, and IMO it is working.

It's also preventing legitimate users from contributing in the areas they wish.
173  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Newb Q: Anonymity from $ to BTC on: December 14, 2013, 03:27:28 AM
I'm a little cautious about giving away my personal information (i.e. license, social security #, etc.) before being able to transfer $ to Bitcoin. Is there any way to circumvent this or is it a necessary evil? Also, how does it affect my anonymity with BTC transactions?

Thanks friends

There are literally tens of thousands of people exchanging BTC for fiat (real) currency across many websites in many countries. Coinbase is a San Francisco, USA based company, and if I had to guess is doing business in the 6 figure range, if not more. I didn't go so far as to give them my login information to verify my bank for deposits (that's pretty stupid imo), however, I have verified with them using traditional ACH method, and CC info and have not had any issues exchanging with them. Unless you're on the FBI most wanted list, I don't think you have anything to worry about. In fact, I'd be tremendously more worried about dealing with people that don't want to give you their identity. Those are the people that are likely to rob you because you were dumb enough to bring cash to a bitcoin deal. If you are using a CC to buy BTC and get screwed by the exchange, you might even be covered by your credit card's fraud protection.  Smiley

Your grammar reminds me of a certain Nigerian Prince in need of help (transferring funds).  Cheesy

BTW, 2% Isn't a "Low Tax Rate". 0% is a low tax rate.  Undecided Everyone knows there's a pool fee. Don't try to sell it, it comes across cheaply.
175  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Stock Exchange data manipulation on: December 09, 2013, 02:57:33 AM
Coinbase is limited by what they can sell or buy bitcoin for, and they only make money in the spread. They are a sort of closed exchange where you can't set your own prices. You can either accept their price and do the exchange at their current rate, or not. Also, with most paper currency exchanges, there is a similar gap between the value of buying and selling a given currency. Coinbase's price to sell bitcoin for USD is low IMO, however.
176  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Mining dead for home users? on: December 09, 2013, 12:38:29 AM
I looked into this a bit before jumping into the deep end myself. The only "available" non-GPU Scrypt miners out there are FPGAs. The current ASIC offerings look like scams. It's questionable as to if FPGAs are even worth getting into at 1KH/$, and the BTC bubble looking as if it may have popped. More than that, there aren't any available in the scale that it's worth investing at right now. The developer of the only FPGAs that I can tell have been shipped, Beekeeper, isn't releasing them particularly fast (but what do I know). It's really a question of Low Heat, Low Cost, and High Hash Rates. Pick two. However, you can scale out FPGAs at home a lot easier than GPUs. After a certain point, it get's pretty expensive to keep your GPUs cool, even in the winter.
177  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: how cold is too cold? on: December 09, 2013, 12:24:37 AM
When you get your rigs close to freezing temps, the way the electronics behave is a little different. Many of the parts values will change drastically with a significant temperature swing. When I've seen people using sub zero cooling on their CPUs they will usually use a mini heater around the CPU slug to keep the board warm and avoid condensation. Some motherboards that are built for extreme temps like this feature a "sub-zero" mode, to help compensate for the change in values of the electronics.

I'm not sure my first post even made it, and I still got the 360 second wait.   Sad
