161  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: the Veil Project Mining- Privacy without Compromise on: May 13, 2019, 02:54:31 PM
What happens to the price? Why strong fall lately?
Already three times fell in dollars from the peak of the price against the background of the growth of the remaining tokens where there is a small capitalization.

Price drop because right now the payout for bounty campaign. When everyone sells then the price stabilizes. This happens in all projects when the coins are sold by bounty participants.
I think after the bounty and give aways price will stabilize and thence commence an upward movement, coins to include staking have a way on maintaining prices as investors tend to hold and therefore reduce sell pressures. Veil is gaining traction and I am just following up the mining details as I wish to have more.
162  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you buy not top 100 alts? on: May 13, 2019, 02:46:39 PM
The risk is everywhere, it has nothing to do with only those beyond top 100 coins, I am sure the idea is to ensure that one do not involve in coins with very low marketcap so as not to totally lose out in case of exit scam or very huge dump. However being on the top 100 should not be the major criteria as a coin can get launched today and within few days it is among the top. A lot of coins that were in this rank region before now are no more. Personally I would look at history, project existence, development and market history aside so many other factors to consider before going in for long-term
163  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Know when to stop a HODL/HOLD on: May 11, 2019, 10:28:46 PM
I think the last bear season has taught a lot persons lessons, holding is not always profitable, sometimes holding can be disastrous. Holding in an obvious bear season can be heartbreaking. It is not all about holding, but holding smart. Knowing the right time to hold. For instance some persons jumped into the btc wagon when it was at $18,000 and held till it dropped to $4,500 while some persons bought at this level and have been holding all through the current price and may hold till another all time high.
164  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Care of security and don't store your coins on exchanges! on: May 11, 2019, 10:22:23 PM
It is not totally possible for everyone not to have coins at the exchange, except one is not trading, even at that their could be time when one would have placed a sell order. For who do not have any trading purposes this does not apply to them. In all these one has to be lucky not to fall victim, the hack can happen as soon as one is sending his coin to the exchange to sell.
165  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Binance Just Announced New Tokensale on its Launchpad! on: May 11, 2019, 10:09:18 PM
The harmony project has been around for a while, though haven't gone through the details to understand the concept behind its development but I believe that Binance must have done their homework before trying to list such and I trust their judgment. I think this will attract more bounty hunters as the bounty is still on
166  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum vs BitcoinCash Which will win? on: May 10, 2019, 09:53:39 AM
The first major fork of bitcoin cash so the coin split into pieces and value depreciates so much, the coin is a no match to etherium. Even if another fork of etherium occurs, it may not affect the coins value so much. Etherium has proven itself to be the most relevant crypto in terms of development of contract and have gained much popularity than any other altcoin.
167  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Hodling btc vs Hodling hashpower in 2019, thoughts needed. on: May 10, 2019, 09:46:57 AM
Just hearing for the first time about a free power source. The crypto market is somewhat unpredictable, but if you would have a free power source as stated and checking other material costs at an affordable price. It would be a good venture. Personally in the area I reside power is very expensive, I would go for btc holding
168  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Mining VEIL on: May 09, 2019, 12:16:41 PM
I was looking at some POS coins and some people suggested VEIL (POS/POW), it's apparently a new privacy-based coin.

I was originally interested in staking but does anyone know how profitable is it to mine it? I have my computer online most of the time (1080 Ti - i7-7700k) and I was wondering If I could mine using that since it's a new coin and probably the difficulty is not that much.

At current prices, mining is not profitable. But if your looking to gather some coins for the long run, I suppose small mining would be a good idea.
As for staking - Your going to need a large amount of coins to see consistent blocks.

You would be better off getting on an exchange and buying. There was a recent price collapse, so getting a bag is much cheaper than it was 2weeks ago.
I think this info is quite helpful, however would have better loved to know what is the mining rate. Hope the difficulty will not increase if price increases.
169  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: How to start a hidden miner? on: May 09, 2019, 12:11:20 PM
I do not know how profitable this is at the moment, but I have seen how popular mining has been over time. I would have launched this with mining the veil coin but do not know if anyone is currently doing that here
170  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto market getting many new people. Is it good or bad for us? on: May 09, 2019, 11:33:04 AM
The crypto market is a community based system, a peer to peer payment system, so the more the people the better. Its growth is largely dependent on crowd funding. Though it is quite worrisome a lot of persons are coming in with the wrong mindset and have made bad names for the system. A lot coming in hoping it to be a get rich quick thing and eventually they get disappointed when things go awry.
171  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Drop in ICO Price after listing on: May 09, 2019, 11:26:40 AM
This largely is the reason why ICO is becoming less popular and no longer profitable, a situation where more than 95% of the ICO's end this way or exit scam. But the investors into jeopardy and therefore making the investors less. The IEO's may eventually follow this trend and it doesn't tell good on start ups. The best they could do is to lower their sales price enough and grow through it. You do not need to raise $30M anymore on a single project. An amount like $1M should get any serious project started
172  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Mistakes hodlers make on: May 09, 2019, 11:21:15 AM
Quite hilarious, it is glaring we see all those crypto analysts and forecasters come out when the market situation is in a boom season but as soon as the bear returns, they all go in hiding. Everyone is an expert in a bull season but the reverse is the same during the bear. Personally as soon as I notice or suspect a reverse trend in the market, I sell or buy dependening on the direction
173  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Will Binance get closed down? on: May 09, 2019, 11:16:59 AM
I hope this is unconnected to the Binance hack of $40M. However I know everything is possible in crypto, if Binance closes down, it will not be the first exchange to have done so, though it may affect the larger crypto community but it will give way for other exchanges to thrive. However untrue this may sound, it is advisable for people to always have a back up funds. Do not leave all you have on Binance or a single exchange.
174  Economy / Speculation / Re: Welcome Back to $6k Bitcoin! on: May 09, 2019, 11:10:31 AM
I saw somewhere in this forum a thread created where people were asked to predict if btc will ever get to $6000 this month and I was of the opinion that it looks very feasible technically. Infact we may be seeing a $6500 this month those we may be having a support around $5900 before that. Btc remains the king and I have a firm belive btc will never go back to this year's low anymore.
175  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ICO's Have Been Getting EXPOSED! Finally... on: May 07, 2019, 05:20:49 PM
ICO's became unpopular the moment most renowned projects and especially those that their bounties were managed by professional bounty project managers failed. I have seen a lot of project that have survived without going through ICO's and that is my focus now. Any project or developer that is sure he is worth his onion should go via the way of development without launching ico. This is why I chose to promote veil. ICO is dead and may resurrect but not soon
176  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why do you have to take risks. on: May 07, 2019, 05:07:17 PM
Taking risk is part of everyday living, life generally is a risk. Whatever one does to survive on this earth is a risk which makes valid the saying that it is a risk not to take a risk, meaning to surive is a risk. Therefore surviving here requires one to do some busineses, get involved in activities that has to involve earnings and making a living and in all these a lot of resources is required in terms of energy, time and money. In all these if anyone becomes successful it means the risk paid of and if anyone fails it means it was the price paid for the risk.
177  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Bitcoin Boom to $100K Will Destroy Altcoins on: May 07, 2019, 04:57:44 PM
I do not believe altcoins will die if bitcoin pumps to $100,000, altcoins have a characteristic behavior to btc movement, generally any of such btc boom will still affects altcoins positively, the same boom of btc that got it to a price if $20,000 in 2017 made a lot of altcoins to attain their all time high, such will still befall altcoins if price pumps $100,000. Things may reverse however but this is most likely
178  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are ICO's Dead? on: May 06, 2019, 08:33:56 AM
It is gradually becoming unpopular as it appears more than 90% of them are scam or outright failures. Nobody would want to invest in what has a 90% failure rate. ICO's were more profitable in 2016/2017 and early 2018 but suddenly it because the scammers niche, I think the bear market also played a huge role. The developers greed in trying to hit a hardcap of several millions of dollars was their undoing and with huge dumps associated with those that managed to list on exchanges. IEO's are coming up too but I see them as dead on arrival.
179  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: LESS REWARD on: May 06, 2019, 08:26:38 AM
Very good advice, desperate times demands desperate measures. One have to be very smart to survive in this crypto world. Though this does not work all the time but it is works most of the time, being a bounty hunter helps one to research for projects and monitor their progress, a bounty hunter should know when a project is listed and it is these new exchange that most coins make fast pumps after listing, an example is moonx that is listed on cointiger, few weeks after its listing, it pumped from $0.025 to the current price of $0.079 which is over 200%. It is only through bounty hunting that one will notice such opportunities aside the real investors and developers.
180  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Limit your participation in IEO on exchanges that you trust on: May 06, 2019, 08:14:51 AM
Just invest what you can afford to lose or never invest at all. I am worried a lot of these exchanges do not want to help the investors also. Exchanges that host these IEO's should make it as a matter of importance to prevent a certain amount of sale from a huge depositors which is likely to be from developers or private investors that bought with huge discounts. They are usually responsible for the dumps. No individuals that buy these IEO's at a certain price will not want to sell at a loss but those selling at such low prices are part of those I mentioned above
