Hey When i try to run the reinvester, this is the error that i get:

Quote
[Mon Jan 27 15:54:36 PST 2014] Settings saved successfully!
[Mon Jan 27 15:54:36 PST 2014] Reinvesting.
[Mon Jan 27 15:54:37 PST 2014] Error 0x1: {1390866875:dimkako99:[0.00357863:0.00000000]:[0.00000000:4.84203308]:[0.03184367]:[1.32393429]:[0.00927643]}

I think we all do, but seems to work otherwise.
163  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: cex.io purchase bot on: January 26, 2014, 06:26:08 PM
I like it cause it feels a lot like dollar cost averaging. I can always disable it during silly highs.. but overall, I think my average is pretty good.
164  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: cex.io purchase bot on: January 26, 2014, 05:46:51 AM
Great, glad to hear it works now.

Let me know if you have any improvement suggestions!

Zack.

If anything, I like how simple it is.

I guess if you could run as a service and it show up down by the clock.

and maybe on the login screen some convenience links (though I know some people including myself are a little iffy about clicking links). Though some people may not know the API function is under profile.

https://cex.io/trade/profile#api     - if you looked at the status bar to see where it really went to, then you're no different  Wink

and

https://www.google.com/#hl=en&q=what's+my+ip&safe=off (or at-least filter for the answer so it can be used at cex.io, google always lists it between "Your public IP address is XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX - Learn more")

dmpotter, typing the following in cmd should work, for the java version:

Code:
java -version

Also, the errors you got were file read/write problems. Can you run it as admin? I write the setting to a small text file (actually a csv saved as .txt) and that seems to be the error.

Honestly I have neglected the CLI version as of late, because I anticipated more people using the GUI version, but I will add more documentation to my Github wiki to help people get started and answer any questions that may arise.

TL;DR: Right click the jar and run as admin to see if the GUI version works.

That worked, but had to do it a different way.

For some reason, run as administrator wasn't a choice.

But if it's a storage/read problem, I gave myself rights to the directory.

Ignore, the initial errors, forgot to turn off the CLI Smiley

Zack!

You're a skilled person that is for sure. Just the idea you put a cli in with your gui was a lot of effort.

As far as I know my system is normal (North American) windows 8 pro with the exception of the following.
On my windows 7 machines when I dropped down to dos prompt, I just had to type java and it would work (I guess it was part of my cmd path)..

This is what my bat file looks like to start it in CLI, where the secret and key are correct. You'll notice I have to put the path absolute path there.

Code:
@echo off
C:
cd \PROGRA~1\CEX~1.IOR
\PROGRA~2\Java\jre7\bin\java -jar Reinvestor_v1.0.4.jar dmpotter1361 itsmypartyand illcryifiwanttoo

For the GUI, when I plug in the username and secret/key, I get the following errors when I hit toggle investor, I also don't get any balances.

Thank you for your time, and your in my awesome people's book!

They're not stable above 2GHs (250MHz) without more voltage. You need to change the resistors to raise the voltage, but that requires better cooling. The solder mask on these conducts heat better than the Block eruptors from what I can tell, so the heatsink does more on these, but it would still be beneficial to remove it. I am going to find a circuit board to practice removing it on first, then once I get my heatsinks in for these, I will remove the mask, and adhere them to the heatsinks, and see how far I can take mine.

I see people advertising on ebay sticking heatsinks to the *front* where the chips are. Think that does anything or are some ebay folks selling snake oil?

They're selling Dr. Joe Wallach's miracle dirt. These chips are flip-chip BGA packages, and likely there is an air gap between the chip itself and the top of the plastic package itself (read almost guaranteed), which would act as an insulator, so without the heatsink cooling the PCB itself off (the PCB itself is an aluminum or copper substrate which has the layers of electronics and wired "printed" onto it, and so acts as a heatsink) it would actually get hotter. The only time a heatsink on top of the chip would be useful is if you are trying to push it to its utmost limits, as it would draw off a SMALL amount of heat.

EDIT: An exception to this rule is the VREG, which would benefit from a ram chip heatsink on top of it if you are pushing it past specification.

Thank you, I always felt the same way, but you put it so much nicer.

Is there any difference than having to use slightly different wiring for the one with pci-e connections and the one with screw down?
173  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Which USB hub to use with Block Erupters | NanoFury NF1 | BPMC Red Fury? A List. on: January 22, 2014, 05:56:48 PM
I suck at math... but this should work fine with antminers?

AnkerŪ USB 3.0 7-Port Hub with 1 BC 1.2 Charging Port up to 5V 1.5A, 12V 3A Power Adapter

My plan is to run 6 antminers and artic breeze fan in the charging port #7

Antminer = "1.2 Watt power from the USB port and .5 Amp" - I'm going to assume not overclocked

In reality this will probably only be stable with 4 ants + the fan. ..........If it runs 5 its a bonus.

You were correct, the Anker 7 port (6 + charging) is only a marginal improvement. I'm not getting the performance I wanted.

yes its called  cex.io reinvestor by zack urben..

it is over on the cex.io forums somewhere. (2 lazy to look myself)

Huge props to both of you and the developer of the software! Didn't even think that something like this exists, lol.
Thank you!

I got the CLI version working, the gui didn't work for me.. but not going to complain.. use to terminal anyhow Smiley

ex. C:\PROGRA~2\Java\jre7\bin\java -jar Reinvestor_v1.0.4.jar username key secret

Someone explain to me the point of buying a 1.6gh miner @ +-$50
How you gonna make your money back ?
Lets also not forget the difficulty is gonna go up in 5 days time from 1.8m to 2.4m
Even @ 1.8m a 1.6gh miner will only make about $2.30 a week
So lets just say $10 a month.
Than means you will need to mine for 5 months at 1.8m difficulty just to break even.
Sounds like this is a lose ?
Am i wrong ?
I hope i am.
I won't buy anything from anyone yet till i know i can trust them.
even if i get a 200gb miner it will be obsolete in 6months time due to mine difficulty

Because we can.

I agree with you, seems people say pretty much the same thing every month. People focus too much on the money and not the hobby side of it. In all seriousness, unless btc goes to 5k there really isn't any money to made regardless what you do.. I like when they say just buy btc, but that sort of ruins the whole experience.. If btc stays at 1k, there isn't no money to be made buying them either. oh god, doom and gloom.

Also, if he's worried about the hash rate.. get a 4k resistor and a 10k resistor and OC that chip! Giggle at everyone hashing at 1.8g when sitting at 4g each Smiley
177  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: should I mine solo? on: January 21, 2014, 07:16:53 AM
I have a network of computers, so i'm wondering if it would be more profitable for me to mine litecoins solo instead of in a pool, reason being I don't see everyone of the workers coming up when mining let me kno what you think.

not litecoins, but there is many crapcoins you could do that with. You really need to look at the current difficulty and reward amount. Sure, you might find a block on your own, but would it be greater than what you would get cumulatively from a pool?

I am unable to get any hash rate:

I don't see any instructions on how to set CPU/GPU parameter.

I'm curious, are your trying to use scrypt or sha256?
179  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: HAVE YOU HAD COINS STOLEN ON CRYPTSY? on: January 21, 2014, 02:44:47 AM
2 STEP AUTH only works if you have constant access to a smart phone. #1 I dont have a SMART phone #2, I dont always have access to my cell phone, nor do i want to consult my phone everytime I log onto something. #3, crypsty has a EMAIL WITHDRAW CONFIRMATION SYSTEM. Why would they offer this if it offers ZERO security worthiness.

COME ON PEOPLE, I can keep my info safe as possibly but CRYPTSY has to offer help. I AM SO VERY TIRED OF EVERYONE TELLING ME IT WAS MY FAULT MY ACCOUNT GOT HACKED. I AM TIRED OF EVERYONE SAYING I SHOULD HAVE DONE THIS, I SHOULD HAVE DONE THAT. Why doesnt anyone consider that a site like crypsty can take steps to secure the account.

I am not programmer, but even I know there is code that notices suspicious behavior and red flags an account. if cryptsy ASSIST in this security issue the we dont need 4 step authentication, if the site helps catch bad behavior then we don't need 40 character passwords with a note from my mom.

AM I responsible for my banks security? if someone robs the bank using my credentials, am I at fault? do I need to stand at the bank vault with a AR15? NO the banks security is the banks problem, this is why I put my money in a bank so they will take care of it. I assume the same with a online bank such as cryptsy. however i might as well gave it to my old lady..

Personal Security is part of it, part of the EULA you agreed to when you signed up for the site. I'm sorry you don't want to/can't embrace 2 factor authentication.

However, I don't get hacked.

I'm also going to guess you used a password you made up. Have you ever considered looking into lastpass or another site to generate strong passwords. Banks do get robbed, thus why they are FDIC insurance. But I'll go back to point one, you agreed to keep your account secure sir when you signed up for the site. Then, I will also add, crypsy isn't handling MONEY. They are handling digital representations of something we have value for. What can you possibly sue them for?
