162  Economy / Economics / Re: Why would sales in Bitcoins decline on Overstock? on: June 04, 2014, 05:51:00 AM
Part of the reason bitcoins started a bit stronger on overstock imo is when they started they had amd graphics cards and the scrypt mining was red hot prices was very high roi was fast.

So people seen it as a win win support overstock.com for taking bitcoins And get a hold of graphics cards psu and other equipment to build up new mining rigs

163  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Scrypt-N Asic Feasible? on: June 04, 2014, 05:46:25 AM
There is already an asic maker claiming to make scrypt N asic's Flower Tech. Also i believe i seen asiabtc from our own forums here also has some scrypt N asic coming out and he said it was no problem to make a chip to mine it.

Now if its true or not especially have my doubts with Flower Tech as they are a new company I am not sure. But asiatech has delivered what he promised before and currently so I tend to believe him personally. Here is a link to a thread where its being discussed.

  Lol .0015 the rapper!

In all seriousness I feel like a lot of music artists are currency agnostic. They don't care how you pay!!!  I believe this will spread more and more out of the creative type's business into more of the "main street" type business. Also don't forget 50 cent owns a lot or all of vitamin water not sure the extent so this could be a test run for his other businesses.

165  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: And now a bank realizes bitcoin's potential finally!(citibank) on: June 04, 2014, 05:35:34 AM
I believe short to medium term the most disruption will be on the western union types for transferring money from place to place. Millions and millions of dollars and other currencies will be saved for the consumer and businesses.

Right now it costs me almost 10% to send money to my in laws that are oversea's and its done the real old fashion way we find somebody traveling and send the money with them. Its hardly safe or cheap.

Credit card fee's are anywhere from 1.5% to almost 5% for some of the airline perks cards. So i believe bitcoin's can disrupt credit cards as well. But imo the credit card companies have a few more advantages than the money wire companies.

166  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Is mining worth it? Thinking of investing on: June 04, 2014, 05:21:24 AM
Zeusminers are all scrypt miners. The op was asking about bitcoins.  There is a lot of drama right now with zeusminers as they decided to release now with a chip pulling 3x's the projected power. They did increase the hash rates people receive however. In any event its not applicable to this thread as again they ONLY make scrypt miners.

167  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: quick question on psu wall draw on: June 04, 2014, 04:45:55 AM
Philipma is correct depending on if you want to be conservative or more aggressive most people prefer to go no higher than 75 to 80% power draw. Example for what your drawing some people would be uncomfortable even with 1000w psu.

How hot is your psu getting is the fan always at full speed? Another comparison would be if your car can drive 150 mph how long do you think it would last if thats the only speed you drove?

Most psu in the manual will tell you what it rated at continuous as well.

Steve

ps the xfx pro is a rebranded Seasonic i believe so if any 850w power supply would be ok it would be a Seasonic.
168  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Power draw from my room on: June 04, 2014, 04:40:14 AM
You need to find the specific circuit or circuits your room is on. It could work assuming you have 2 circuits or a 20 amp circuit.  I can't read the writing below the breakers sorry. Also important to know what country your in as well. As i am assuming a 20 amp circuit on usa power supply.

Thanks for your response. My issue is definitely on my end. I am not sure how to even set up the stratum to mine on Multipool.us I would love to put my sha as most of my scrypt hash is already on your sister site IPominer.

So if you can walk me through setting up the stratum program itself that would be fantastic.

171  Economy / Speculation / Re: Crossed 500 USD - Bull Market returns ? on: June 04, 2014, 03:57:47 AM
my explanation for the raise is the whales have bought enough cheap btc the last few months. So now they pump it up to sell higher. This happens over and over every year you can see the rise and falls. Note I don't mind the up's and down's it also gives me a chance to make extra cash.

I have also used kraken without any issue's. but the poster above was correct their volume is just too low for it to be effect for my style trading. Your problems are the first I have seen with Kraken and i will be watching to see the results. Please keep us updated.

174  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Zeusminer Blizzard unboxing, setup and results. yes i will have pics! on: June 04, 2014, 03:05:30 AM
Doesn't seem to be a lot of interest so this will be my last post on the zeusminer blizzard. With no tweaking as of yet i mined for 24 hours on ipominer.com  My hashrate varied from 1131 to 1297 but its fairly steady right at 1210.

Some other users on litecoin talk was worried about the included power supply brick. Mine isn't hot to touch at all and the miner really feels like it doesn't even need a fan.

Steve

ps any questions i would be glad to answer them.
175  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Zeusminer Blizzard unboxing, setup and results. yes i will have pics! on: June 03, 2014, 05:29:44 AM
Finally dug my ancient dell laptop from basement with windows.  Apparently the error i couldn't overcome was some sort of a usb issue as i needed special software even in windows to get it going.

I must say the speed after about 5 minutes is super disappointing as i am getting only 74kh. So anybody who has had luck setting this up better than me please chime in

Steve

Edit adding for fairness sake 10 minutes in it speeded up to 995kh/s so its better but still not at the 1.2 as per spec.

180  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: CGWatcher 1.3.8, the GUI/monitor for CGMiner and BFGMiner to prevent downtime on: June 03, 2014, 02:12:22 AM
Is there a way to add x11 or x13 coins to your list? It would make the setup a bit more easy to use and keeping track of my mining options a bit simpler.  Also is there a way to run add a stratum option kind of like multiminer has?
