Just seen this message in the getinfo

Is that good or bad?

Been away for a while (all my Fury's psu bit the dust) but stalk every blue moon.

Nice about the name change.

Everything else stays the same? Amount of coins? Nothing to be exchanged?

Still holding everything I mined with those little fellows.

To disclose, I'm not using Minergate. I was briefly, but it doesn't support gpu mining for Aeon (only exception among all supported currencies), so I switch to good old ccminer and arux pool.

It does. Just tested it with a 750ti.

Thanks. I thought cryptonight-light algo is not supported at all. It seems like just some gpus (like mine GTX 970) is not supported. At least that's what I see in latest Minergate version (5.07).

The 970 works just fine also but like I said, I don't use that MinerGate software.

Straight miner with the command line.
165  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] AEON 2nd gen cryptonote, anon, mobile-friendly, scalable, pruning on: January 25, 2016, 12:56:38 AM
To add: Minergate also don't ask user to create wallet.
You just register in usual way and wallets for every supported currency created and handled automatically.
I know there is downsides to online wallets, but the fact that you can use one username and password
for every wallet and miner is imo big plus for newbies.

As it was mentioned minergate is very easy, support gpu and cpu mining, slightly configurable (you can choose number of cpu cores), and I wish something like that to be built-in Monero/Aeon for smart mining.

To disclose, I'm not using Minergate. I was briefly, but it doesn't support gpu mining for Aeon (only exception among all supported currencies), so I switch to good old ccminer and arux pool.

I never knew about a button to push on the pool. Never used it.

I use a command line to mine Aeon, hence why I was looking for the stratum and port. I found it and did what I needed to do but back to what I was mining before. Maybe I'll jump back into this in about a week or so but for now have other things going.

Anyone mining at Miner Gate?

Can't find any connection info for pool now.

Certainly some people are using minergate but please use one of the pools in the OP if you can to spread out the hash rate.

Found what I was looking for. But I really have my reason for wanting it. Maybe like someone posted above since I am a noob and need that pool since it is easier for me.

@ Arux Thanks for your pool and info. Might try it out one day but I really needed MinerGate to test something out and did not want to try any pools straight to the wallet (for now).

I had my reason's for wanting it and found it and found out what I needed to find out.

Now I guess this noob will go back to what I was doing before my curiosity

Not sure much is gonna happen at this time but I'm excited anyway.

That is not a release. That is the end of the air drop count down for sign up.

Check out MMXVI. Also CPU mining, no ico, no premine.

Why has the thread been removed?

Flame against the author. first he/she remove the links to the github. At the moment I am still connected to 2 peers.

So is this coin still alive?

Have not seen dev around in a while.

@georgem

I understand why there is only one ip connection and not being able to use home computer with multiple wallets but question. Is it possible to limit to say two or three connections from one IP address?

I know why servers are better and the limited downtime that can occur from connection issues but just wanted to ask.

GUYS,

Please, please, please... STOP SELLING SO LOW. Don't destroy the value of the coin. Take out your sell orders and start around .005 BTC per EGC.

OK, serious question.

Would love for that to happen but what makes it worth that? I have read every post in the thread and have not seen anything posted to hit that.

Again would love for that to happen but would like to know what makes you think it should be there.

The value of this coin is in several things.
1. A dev team that is active and has stayed active for months
2. A solid marketing team, getting the name out there on a global scale
3. The coin itself and the idea behind it. (Sustainable eco-friendly mining power and a way to market it)
4. The algorithm, a PoS system that is mathematically correct (with nice returns), and plenty of soon-to-come updates (more info coming soon)
5. A community that is quickly gaining momentum. There has been quite a bit of volume sold in the past few days and the coin just launched.

People are still skeptical and that's understandable. Here at EGC we will make it our goal for the community to trust the team behind the coin. If you have any other questions or concerns, feel free to voice your opinion.

Ok then look at it this way.

If you feel that those makes the coins worth what you wrote then you have the perfect opportunity right now to buy cheap cheap coins.

Coin is 2 days old.

Why always a rush on exchanges?

Speaking of rising.

Number one at BitTrex for now in volume and the diff is rising again. I like the easy blocks. Smiley
177  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BITCREDIT on: December 23, 2015, 06:41:14 PM
@antonio8,
Took me 10-14 hours to sync from scratch. This was with the last wallet released and I had 6-8 connections. With the current wallet release I get only 2 connections. While my wallet was syncing every transaction my wallet had recorded but now couldn't be sure about until it received the block during the fresh sync looked exactly like yours. Light blue. So I am thinking you will be fine once synced fully.
You can see what block your synced up until on the lower left next to the wifi symbol showing your connections.
Note:
1.) During sync you are creating a relational database that is not tiny including all addresses seen.
2.) Syncing wallets on many coins can appear frozen while they finish their sync process. Check task manager to see if it is still using resources likely it is still processing the sync.
3.) you can confirm youve gotten a block that will stop you from syncing in the %appdata% debug.log, it will say something near the very bottom about "error connect block, invalid block" theres a command in the wallet you can type to fix this called "reconsiderblock"

Thanks jasemoney,

I never knew about your #3 note but will pay attention to it.

It is still syncing with 3 connects at block 61,252 but I am ok with letting it take as much time as it does. I'll be gone for the rest of the week anyways for the Holiday. If it is not fixed by then after a full sync then I will try on the laptop that has never been used to make sure I don't have a conflict with my computer. It is moving but slow but that is fine.

EDIT: On the reconsider number 1 never knew that either.
178  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BITCREDIT on: December 23, 2015, 05:51:00 PM
Did you tried first to use bootstrap on clean/new empty wallet and the after full syncing, close and replace wallet.dat, sometimes when wallet crashes after opening/closing it's recommended to check windows processes manager if some related process is still pending and if waiting doesn't help for some time then this process should be terminated.

Your screenshot looks like wallet is still loading, it's noraml my looks the same for maybe 1 minute when using SSD drive, after wallet is synced all coins should be on it's place and wallet transaction window will look normal.

Coin control should be first enabled in Options / Wallet (tab) / Enable coin control features and then available in Send / Receive (tab) / Coin Control Features / Inputs ... (button)

It can take some time before it appear after pressing , more transaction/wallet loading = longer waiting

I heard some horrible stories about corrupted wallet.dat, most of them is related with copying wallet.dat file when wallet is still open/hung/crashed/anyway not fully closed or when wallet.dat is moved many times between different versions new/old/then new again ...

I only hope you have a backup of wallet.dat somewhere, it a must, one or two times it saved my ass.

If my Win setup is doing some strange things, first thing I do is to execute checkdisk on system partition, cmd then c: and   chkdsk /f , restart system, it resolves a lot of weird behaviours after not proper system close/crashes/power failures.

I will try and import everything on a laptop that I have never used at all for anything related to Crypto and see what might happen.

Thanks for the suggestions.

As of now I have and will not even attempt to open my other two basenodes until this one is solved. I do not want to lose any more coins in those two like I have with this one.

You can see in the picture that something happened to my wallet from July and never went further than that when whatever happened, happened. Yes I did send all my coins to BitTrex at that time to send them back to myself as one transaction for 50,000 to start the banknode. I could not find coin control in the wallet at that time to send to myself.

Any ideas to get the coins back I am willing to listen. I tried the wallet.dats in the backup folder but none worked.

Allow me to first make one thing very clear for all users. Loss of coins is a user error, not developer. I do not have access to your private keys ergo you control your own funds. Now, if the coins are in an address whose private keys you own, then they will appear if you bootstrap or manage to sync completely (or at least up to your last tx)

There are now ~ 100 active BNs on both linux and windows. Starting the wallet as per instructions should yield positive results.

I think i have mentioned several times now that syncing from start for a BN has become a long process due to the addition of another database for services. Which is why the recommended option until further notice is bootstrapping.

Coin control is activated in options and available under the send tab.

I have never said me losing coins was a developer fault but to say there was not an issue with the last 4 or 5 wallet releases on Windows is an understatement. Ever since the 0.30.17.6 until now has been issues, on Windows. Wallets would not open with out deleting everything in appdata, force closing and other issues is not in my control. I was not the only person bringing this up in the past.

I know not backing up the wallet is my fault. If I lost all the coins on this BN it is my fault.
180  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BITCREDIT on: December 23, 2015, 04:22:52 PM
Back to post again after kinda rage quitting. Smiley

First thing though, the new window wallet loads fine and does not freeze like the last few. Awesome.

To my second point. Deleted everything but back up, config and wallet.dat. Almost 12 hours and still syncing with 41 weeks to go. I know I can bootstrap it to get done quicker but I did that and it worked but my bank node, sorry base node, only showed 6 coins now. I want to completely sync it to see what happens. Not sure why it takes so long to sync.

I know it seems like I am always complaining but I am trying to help with issues that I have with the wallet. Since windows is the biggest platform it should be working as it is in Linux if the adoption of this coin is going to increase.

As of now I have and will not even attempt to open my other two basenodes until this one is solved. I do not want to lose any more coins in those two like I have with this one.
