In the early day's it was not hard to get 50k digi's because the diff was so low.
This is very true. And for those willing to point their precious hash at an unproven idea, it has paid off very nicely -> as it should.

That 50k giveaway was a stupid idea. get rich people for free .... what's the deal ?
It is easy to say that now that the DigiByte is on an exchange, has a great deal of hash, and is generally doing well. You forget, however, that in the beginning everyone proclaimed this was "just another sh*t coin". Frankly, those who believed from the beginning, and have participated from the beginning, took a risk by pointing their hash power, investing money, and spending time promoting DigiByte. It is very easy to point fingers, make judgements, and such non-sense now that the crow has flown. I do not remember there being any restrictions on who could ask for the giveaways or bounties. Might be that someone should learn to participate without the guarantee of immediate gain, and the appreciation, monetary or otherwise, might follow. ------- What is the best pool now?
Well, of coarse it is DGB.Get-By.com! The oldest DGB pool still in existence; mining since launch. I am not biased at all........ errr..... well, it IS my pool

well i thought digiman was doing the lottery draw for transparency and he has me second place, but on the lottery thread i'm not in second place??? whats going on?
We were also under the impression we would be drawing all the winners. I've only ever stated you were drawing 1.prize. I'm sure most people will agree. Why would you need to draw any of them? Why not keep the sense of transparency going for the last two? I won't judge till I hear your rationale for this. Especially considering that the Dev's announced all three winners, on the lottery thread, 20 minutes prior to zaloultra's picks..... Even if there was a misunderstanding, it seems there must have been a problem with the Dev's transparent picks....... A problem that zaloultra didn't even bother handling, referencing, or acknowledging before posting his picks almost 20 minutes later.... No need for pitchforks or worries, however. The Dev's and community are good people and I am sure there will be some equitable solution for all of the fuss!

hold on. on the digibyte thread i'm shown as second winner? Don't blame me, some misunderstanding from the digiman. No, he was only doing 1.prize - you may read up on the posts if you want the info. Sorry. What a terrible coincidence. Sorry vectisitch

Appbox, can you tell us once again what exactly people are calling DigiByte in Chinese?
"极特币" Like the translation on that one So it means "Very Special Coins" Is there a closer translation to DigiByte? Closer isn't necessarily better. A friend of mine tells me that it is actually quite a positive name and shows respect, for lack of a better word. Of coarse, it wouldn't be the first time my friend was wrong

/www.coinmarket.io down?
Yeah, the site is down. The admin is asleep so it may be a little while. its like the prize is on hold It is easy to forget that "real" markets have an "open" and a "close". In crypto, if the exchange site goes down for 5 minutes everyone wields their pitchforks and crosses and start marching on the estate of the operator, lol With so many competitors your exchange has to be up 24/7 It's not like you can just go to many different stock exchanges has it been down for this long before? If it's a one-person operation they might consider what is supposed to happen if there is down-time when they're sleeping. Seriously what's going on with that exchange. Was never down for this long before. ok so they tweeted an hour ago: "Will restore service ASAP. Dont worry." from @CoinMarketio still, its been down for more than 5 hours or so? Not a good look at all.. It's a pain in the ass, but not worried yet Another 24 hours -> then I am worried

This is a no-brainer if you've been doing your research.
WorldCoin [WDC] gets my vote.
Your right, it is a no brainer..... DGB please

Nevermind
lol, take it you figured out your answer on your own

DGB->USD Thought I was replying but was actually editing a previous message so in case you missed what I was saying. The android wallet actually already includes that feature. It could use improvement as it is currently tied to btc-e and cryptys for the required data but once we are on cryptys a small update with our market id will turn it on and give you your balance in USD among other fiat's. Adding in more source options for BTC->FIAT would also be good. I personally would prefer the info from cavirtex where I'm Canadian. This is lower on the priority list though but will eventually be looked at again and improved as we get more reliable sources of data. A good example of why I should have downloaded the Android wallet and tried it before I opened my mouth

What news sources are going to be available, and will we be able to add RSS feeds to it ourselves?
We had talked about providing an rss feed from DigiBytes website but I can make it so you can add your own source as well. Maybe not the Android wallet, as it is targeted more towards the average user. However, a wallet with a built in USD(USD<-BTC) <-> DGB ticker would be priceless for those out and about trying to spread the word on the street and exchanging fiat for DGB. Just an idea Another great feature for the light client! I suppose that kind of goes hand in hand with the paper wallet printing ability.

|
Import / export private key would be nice. And maybe the intent com.google.zxing.client.android.SCAN could be used to scan barcodes.
Both good ideas. I'm still learning the ins and outs of git, we still used cvs at my previous job but I will make sure to add in these feature requests to look into once I figure git out. If anyone else has any features they would like to see just pm me or post in the thread and I will do what I can to make any good ideas happen. The current list of improvements I have are QR code printing to cloud print news section bluetooth/nfc option to require a password/pattern to launch the app Import / export private key and look into barcode scanning The QR printing and news section are my current focus and should be added by the early next week. Maybe not the Android wallet, as it is targeted more towards the average user. However, a wallet with a built in USD(USD<-BTC) <-> DGB ticker would be priceless for those out and about trying to spread the word on the street and exchanging fiat for DGB. Just an idea
