I don't have enough information to judge Mugabe.

This pretty much tells me everything I need to know about your position.

1. Lack of knowledge of world politics
2. Unwilling to stand up against tyranny
3. Willing to whitewash any valid criticism with cries of 'oh, but Iraq' and 'oh, but Afghanistan'

Your crypto isn't going to work for you if you invest in pretty much anything Havelock offers.  They've designed it to make sure that won't happen.

I had you on ignore not too long ago, but I'm going to venture out on a limb here and entertain you.

Explain how Havelock is designed to fail.

And as for originalbaby - it's quite clear you haven't analysed their IPO in any detail or you would also see that offering 20% of a startup company for 100% of the financial risk is NOT a good proposition.

But if the majority of Russians wants Putin to be their President-> Prime minister ->President ect, why should the Western world feel themselves superior to interfere with the questions they are not well informed? And by the way in Russia the Prime minister has no power.

And if the people of Zimbabwe keep re-electing Mugabe, who are we to question their choice? Is that what you're saying here?
164  Economy / Securities / Re: [HAVELOCK] Mintspare (MS) Bitcoin Electronic Trade-in Service - Official Thread on: February 03, 2014, 07:24:41 PM
Dear current & future Mintspare Fund holders,

It’s been a wild ride for me since I came up with the idea for Mintspare, “The World’s First bitcoin Trade-In Service”.  I have been personally involved in the Bitcoin world since May 2013 when I bought my first bitcoins on Coinbase and dabbled into the mining scene with GPU’s for a little while. I immediately became consumed and obsessed over the next several months with the implications of learning about the potentials of the protocol and the currency.  One day in September, I was trying to sell my old iPhone for bitcoins and became frustrated with finding a reputable, fast and simple service that would buy used electronics in exchange for bitcoins. That’s when the idea for Mintspare was born. Since then, I have made it my mission to provide this service.

Today I am proud to present to every holder of the Mintspare Fund a private beta test invitation to surf the site, test the features, sell up to 2 items and provide any feedback; compliments, criticisms, bug findings, security flaws, etc (details on our bug bounty program will soon be released). A beta invite will be sent to your Havelock associated e-mail account at 2PM EST. Further, all fund unit holders will receive a 10% bonus per account for this private beta test to be put toward the items you sell. This 10% bonus will be subsidized from my personal bitcoins holding and not from Mintspare’s funds.  If you have friends or family that want to surf the site or sell items or just try the beta, I’m going to reserve additional beta test invitations for the first 100 people who e-mail me at galfry@mintspare.com.

I understand that the site will not be 100% perfect which is why I am asking for your help to get Mintspare ready for the official launch in March. I appreciate all the support from friends, family, the Havelock team, the talented engineers and new team members as well as everyone else that showed their support and criticisms along the way. My hope is that Mintspare will eventually become one of the quickest and easiest ways for people around the world to get direct access to Bitcoin in exchange for their used electronics.

Thank you,
Galfry Puechavy
Founder & CEO of Mintspare

So you don't intend to address any of the specific, business-related concerns we've raised regarding the percentage risk to be borne by investors vs. owners?
165  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Russian Bitcoin Users Can Face Jail Time up to 15 years on: February 03, 2014, 04:12:20 PM
To be honest he does things like this.
For instance once a journalist asked him whether he feels to be a dictator because he's been ruling in Russia for 18 years and he than asked why the journalists do ask the same question Angela Merkel or the Canadian president (or prime minister, I don't remember well) - for they are both have been ruling for the same quantity of time as him, but strangely enough nobody has found this answer in the Westen media.

Merkel doesn't imprison people who disagree with her. Merkel hasn't started wars with breakaway republics. Merkel has only been in power since 2005.

Putin went from Prime Minister --> President --> Prime Minister --> President

Next?

SDR means sovereign drawing rights or some other b.s. acronym. I think it's basically a basket of currencies acting together as the world's reserve instead of a single currency. I don't see how that solves any real problems. They could also use gold but one oz would have to be revalued up to around $70k.

Wow. I guess that shows how artificial our current inflation levels are.

The first 3 teasers have all been airing regularly on TV. I have uploaded them with English subtitles:

http://youtu.be/BK4bWtN6fBk
http://youtu.be/E6TIFY-lNTk
http://youtu.be/qNbvBRrBNKs

Keep up the good work. When will your website go live so all those attracted by the teasers can land on something equally polished and concrete?

wouldn't surprise me at all if Max had a silk road account. He looks like he is always on something and I believe he has even admitted he used to do lines back in his wall street days...

He probably has some bitcoin. He probably doesn't have a silk road account. 90% of wall street did cocaine at one time.

So what.

SDR?

If I loan you $1,000 and you can't pay it back, you're in trouble.

If I loan you $1,000,000 and you can't pay it back, I'm in trouble.

There's also the question of why Germany wants their gold back in the first place, and they're not being honest about that either.
171  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Russian Bitcoin Users Can Face Jail Time up to 15 years on: February 02, 2014, 11:21:42 PM
It's simple to read about Russia all the clichés we read here in the western media, but it's difficult to find someone telling a different opinion and explain why he thinks so.
In Russian media you'll be easily find all the clichés the Western media and politicians are saying and the explanation of their point of view as well as the opposite opinion.
So what is better for the democracy from your point of view: to know only one side of the question or to know both?

So please correct my interpretation of:

Gay rights in Russia, Dagestan, Georgia, traditional male & female gender stereotypes, oligarchs.

Damnit. Did I really miss out on sending you some BTC in exchange for nothing?

Oh well, it'll be good to check back in once in a while to see one of your sockpuppets claiming 'awesome dividends'...
173  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Russian Bitcoin Users Can Face Jail Time up to 15 years on: February 02, 2014, 07:46:36 PM
Every time people speak about Russia they become a bit extreme.
For those who desire to tell something negative about Russia, I'd suggest to visit the country before speaking, so you wouldn't risk to offend people who lives there with the information you can't be quite sure about.

Two points here:

Firstly, offence is entirely on the side of the receiver. You could tell me to go fuck a pig, and I wouldn't be offended. Tell the same words to my neighbour and they might faint at having heard the most offensive thing ever in their life.

If people become offended by words and opinions, they need to review their internal mental state and why they chose to take offence in the first place.

Secondly, I can only rate Russia on the image that it wishes to give us outsiders. A nation run by lawless oligarchs, with a corrupt, festering political core. A nation of men who must appear hyper-macho at all times, and women who are nothing more than subservient beautiful dolls. A nation which promotes despicably backwards views about gays and blacks. A nation which is desperate to cling to its Soviet past by invading 'breakaway' states - guess what, if they want to break away what right do you have to force them to remain?

Which is the true Russia? Show me the peace, love and tolerance which we come to expect from civilised countries and I will change my mind. Until then however...
174  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN]ASICMiner Publicly Looking for Potential Customers/Partners for New Chips on: February 02, 2014, 10:45:46 AM
Quote
No altruism I can detect. AM is just saying they have the best chip and realises they are chip experts. Why mess with the other stuff where they have no competitive edge. Best to sell chips to maximise ROI. Also AM has learnt that dominating hash is not good for bitcoin, so by distributing their chip widely they are protecting themselves by protecting bitcoin. AM has done the maths and this is a calculated move.

They can also start generating revenue as soon as they get the chips in hand. Just send them out to buyers with a good datasheet containing a reference PCB design and voila! This is what linear, microchip, TI, analog all do.

I don't believe that is the first character

Well, Manipur (the origin of Meetei Mayek) is a mountainous region in the Himalayas - a 'circle of mountains'. So the two characters would seem to make some sense in this context.

Danny is from Cyprus?

Don't worry - I already have Mainline on ignore from his raving bullshit in another thread.

Also, it just underlines the lack of intelligence on his part - 'why did banks in Cyprus collapse in the first place' should be his main question.
177  Economy / Securities / Re: [Mpex.co] The Scientology of Bitcoin Finance? on: February 01, 2014, 12:38:00 AM
Absolutely true. What value does MPEX actually create? In one sentence please.

It provides the ability to make some very rich and some much poorer.

Along with a bunch of other useless shit nobody uses like futures/trading stocks

If I'm wrong please correct me.

Yes, one mistake - trading stocks which MP[ex] owns and profits from.

Look, I'm glad you've decided to stop the 'marketing speak' and talk to us all honestly. And hearing that you've actually invested your own funds in this venture, and hearing about your personal pain, is refreshing and reassuring.

Unfortunately, it still doesn't justify your business plan. What you need to do is get an MBA or VC involved, get them to revise your plan with you and resubmit your new prospectus to Havelock.

Something along the lines of 80% public ownership would be a start, given how large a risk this business is and how much you're intending to raise at angel stage.

You guys have a chance - don't blow it by being selfish. Owning 1% of Apple is better than owning 100% of Tandy (a computer brand which went bust before you were probably born).

...Just saying it before the FUDsters say it. Grin
...

A an unchartered bank run by a d00d from Cyprus, funded by selling unregistered shares on an unlicenced Canadian exchange that's just been "sold" to a Panamanian shelf co?  What could possibly go wrong?
Teh FUDsters ain't got nothin'.

Unlike those awesome chartered banks which never go up in a puff of smoke with everyone's money...
