I want this uncertainty to end.
162  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANN: BITMAIN has Tested Its 28nm Bitcoin Mining Chip BM1382 on: June 30, 2014, 12:44:24 AM
Question for BITMAIN regarding the upgrade s1 for s3 how will this work do we send old units back to you or do we just buy upgrade blades and plug in and have new firmware flash for units to work. How exactly is the upgrade going to work as it will be expensive for me to send units back to where they come from.

I'm sorry, I must have missed... who said there will be upgrades?
163  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Announcement: Bitmain launches AntMiner solution, 0.68 J/GH on chip on: June 28, 2014, 06:57:45 PM
We planned to open sales for AntMiner S3 today. But we have to say sorry here, as we still need one week time to make a promise, which is 100% sure to be fulfilled.
Thanks for your support and waiting, and we will make one new product that is stable, reliable and high ROI to the Bitcoin community.

This is today?

Yes, that would be today. Let's see if it was really 100% sure.
164  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: How many S3 are you planning to buy? on: June 28, 2014, 01:47:41 AM
Only buying if they have a decent ROI...if not why bother?

Honestly, I think it will be. I don't think they'll try to sell a device that will _obviously_ fail a ROI.
165  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANN: BITMAIN has Tested Its 28nm Bitcoin Mining Chip BM1382 on: June 27, 2014, 10:32:45 PM
wth!!!
they pushed the release back again

Makes sense  they are still selling s-2's   ….

So    we will just have to buy out those s-2's..

Anyone want them?

as for diff jumps i get 16.5 or 16.8

thats what i mean, they pushed the ship date of the s2's to the 30th on website.. are they pushing back all s2 deliveries or just the orders they actually have then? or am i over reacting

I think you're overreacting. The S2 ship date is updated on a rolling basis and says nothing about the S3.

Where did you read that? They said a week, that's tomorrow.

i want to know S3 price come onnn Grin

+1...

BTW...Surprise...:

GAWMiners is selling 1.1TH based on A1 chips for $1399... Grin

http://www.gawminers.com/products/bitcoin-sha-256/1-1-th-s-gridseed-a1-asic-bitcoin-miner/

So...there is NO way S3 to be priced more than $700... 1.15 to 1.19 BTC MAX...

ZiG

Next diff jump would force price even lower...like 25% less... $550 or so... Wink

They are not a competitor for Antminer S3. Look at that Gridseed A1 ASIC device specifications.
Its Normal Hashrate is 1100 GH/s and Power Consumption is 1300W.
Which means its consuming 1.18J/GH device where Antminer S3 will only consume 0.77/GH.
Inshort its 53% less efficient than S3. So the Gridseed A1 will become worthless much before S3.
Regarding cost of the device, Gridseed A1 includes a PSU but S3 doesn't. Shipping will be free for S3 too.
If, we assume the A1 psu costs around $350 the price of device to compare with S3 is $480.
Then, if we need to factor in the J/GH, that a difficult task. IMHO the S3 price will not be below $480 as of now.

I would definitely buy 3 S3s if they are $480.

Isn't it supposed to come out today?
168  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: How many S3 are you planning to buy? on: June 26, 2014, 04:56:55 PM
I'll have three since I don't pay for electricity.
If you don't pay for electricity you would be better off buying S1's since they will be cheaper and efficiency doesn't matter to you.

I actually had an Antminer S1 but I ended up selling it after it made ROI because it was too loud. I'm hoping S3 will be more on the quieter side so that I can keep it in my apartment.

I'm thinking of buying at least two, maybe three.

Anladim, cevaplariniz icin tesekkurler. Turkiye'de elektrik pahali gorunuyor, gumruk de tabii buyuk sorun.

Iste bu yuzden Turkiye'ye valizde sokmayi basardigim Antminer S1'i uygun bir fiyata satabilecegimi dusunuyordum. Bakalim, belki ilgilenen birisi cikar.

Ben Illinois'denim.

http://www.coinium.org/

Urunu satabilirmisiniz bilemem, bir cok kisi negatif seyler yazacaktir.
Miningle ugrasan kisi sayisi tahmin edebileceginizin cok ama cok uzerinde.

Anladim, tesekkurler. Neden insanlar negatif yorumlar yazacaklardir? Antminer S1 her gun 5$ degerinde BTC uretebiliyor. Turkiye'deki elektrik fiyatlari hakkinda pek bilgim yok ancak Amerika'dayken 1kW/saat'e 0.014$ civarinda oduyorum.

Coinium sadece scrypt coin'ler icin gorunuyor. Antminer'i Bitcoin ve benzeri SHA-256 coin'ler icin kullanabilirsiniz. Turkiye'de Bitcoin mining pool yok mu?

173  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Colored Coins and Coinprism takes Bitcoin to a whole new level on: May 18, 2014, 06:53:13 PM
But isn't CoinPrism just centralizing the Bitcoin coloring aspect? I mean, when people started discussing the idea of colored coins, I thought they were referring to adding a color field to the distributed ledger somehow.

175  Other / Beginners & Help / Trying to accept BTC on my website without relying on third party services on: January 09, 2014, 03:03:17 PM
Hi,
I am trying to accept Bitcoins on my website without relying on any third party services. This means I don't want to use Blockchain.info's notify service, or even Electrum since it depends on an Electrum server.

This leaves me with only one option, Bitcoind. I can interface with it through RPC without a problem, but I wasn't able to find anything that explains the 'good practices'.

Should I create a new address for each payment? After some point, wouldn't my wallet.dat become uncontrollably large? How many addresses can Bitcoind watch for before it gets sluggish? Since I can't delete addresses from my wallet.dat, I would have to delete it and recreate it in certain intervals. This seems like a bad solution, what some good practices here?
