exactly the reason. that one big greedy mouth will one day chomp a bulk of waves more than it can handle while the devs are about to leave the waves project and give it to someone else greedier.

Usually large amounts like that gulped up all at once is just a whale selling to himself... with the idea of creating a dump (which did occur). Although really, it doesn't matter either way. Neither situation is a good one... either it was a real sale, so a whale dumped into the dev, or the dev dumped to himself. Guess the dev playing manipulation games is actually the better alternative when I think of it, at least it means he's still in control of the price. Everyone assumes the worst with the dev. manipulating the price but I'm sure Sasha is just trying to make Waves a success and build a successful project. |

Consider using a light wallet technology like Electrum where you can restore all your private keys from a phrase of keywords (brain key). This is one of the safest ways to store your bitcoins imo.

Bitcoin will be the top and popular digital currencies, especially the halving is close now. It will make the bitcoin's price become more high and more people will use bitcoin.
Maybe, or maybe more people will just like to still use USD or CAD on EURO because it's their mainstream currency that they can make a profit off of. Good luck trying to convert everyone to bitcoins because you really cant. It's way too hard to think about everyone in the world using bitcoin all at the same time, the blocks would be sooo slow. Fiat isn't going away, which is why I like the idea of the Waves platform. It tries to bridge the idea of fiat and blockchain technology by utilizing a centralized gateway. |

Away from the pc for 2 days and the thread goes wild. 1 extortion attempt the bonus debacle and a few dev posts. Please note, unlike a lot of other sales those who are expecting to short the market and pick up LIR from weak hands there is a cap on how much you can deposit for dividends. For example, if at the end of the sale I have bought 5000 LIR. I could deposit 1000 LIR for dividends, and sell 4000 LIR. A month later, I buy 6000 LIR, but I am only able to deposit 4000 LIR more for diviends since my cap is 5000 LIR (the amount of LIR purchased on my account). This is intended to combat a few things such as account selling, account sharing and whales from manipulating the market causing there to be an unfair distribution of tokens. We must absolutely ensure that distribution is done correctly.
This is great. It means you guys are looking out for the original investors above all else. Not many dev teams take a stance like this against whales screwing up the markets. I want to weigh in on the bonus: I invest in a lot of the big ICO's and I am a bag holder and not a guy that dumps. I expect teams to do what they promote (although they seem to all over promise and under deliver).
I invested 40 BTC in Waves, 10 BTC in Rise and about 20 BTC in LISK.
I would like to invest in this as well but am apprehensive because of the big bonuses given out which typically means more dumping. If you do decide to offer bonuses again please let me know and I will make a sizable investment but as it stands I will probably not since a 20 and 30% bonus to early investors means I am essentially giving away 20-30% of my BTC as many will dump the bonus for a return of investment.

As a side note, any bonus offered now should come from the DEV Fund as to not screw the early investors
Brewins. I think you should invest even without the bonus. If you look at the numbers the dev just posted you'll notice that a very small portion of the marketcap is bonus BTC and with a large portion of that being held by guys like you and I its unlikely someone who invests 5 or 8 or 10 BTCis going to look to dump the .5 or 1 BTC in bonus. That risk reward ratio is just way off. But of course you are free to do as you wish but if you seriously consider the numbers the bonus BTC is nothing now <10% but imagine if the last couple days bring in larger amounts of BTC. That number will shrink even more. I agree with what you have stated above and even considered it prior to making my post. I will need to think about this a little more before committing to it. The plan looks solid and the team seems to have their heads on straight, my only worry is the lack of the Teams transparency with their identities. I assume it is because of some of them being in the USA and the laws about gambling but have not seen any mention of it anywhere (but I could have very well missed it. Most ICO's that have large fund raising amounts also have a face on them. Having said all of that, I am still watching closely and may still invest. Gonna guess it's something to do with gambling regulations. Most dice sites aren't that open with who's behind them from what I'm aware. |

The speculation here is very amusing: "the price of bitcoin would be hit hard". LOL. We can be barely aware of what will happen to the price of BTC tomorrow, never mind during an apocalyptic scenario.
Bitcoin may actually help to prevent a potential WWIII, by fostering easy, quick, and trusted international cooperation and trade; bear that in mind.
Bitcoin only really requires two mining nodes to function (or one, such as Satoshi in the early days, if he/she is benevolent) properly. Mining could be done on paper if the ledger could be circulated around people with minimum lag time (carrier pidgeon?).
As for drafting and conscription, the days of human warfare have been long numbered. Be guided by Steven Hawking and recent advances in AI warfare.
Nevertheless, the future is bright. There is no WWIII. There is no end of Bitcoin. Long live peer-to-peer!

I do see you are angry, not sure why as I just made a very simple post since the Devs asked people what they thought. i am angry about people like you think with money(or BTC )can make anything and you are smart enough to know what i say! OK, there are 3 things I am 100% sure about: 1 - You are a Bounty Hunter - I looked at your post history and it is pathetic - you want freebies to dump. 2 - Most Bounty Hunters invest very little and are HOPING for a big payday: Take my advice, you will end up broke if you continue on that path. Make some solid investments and stick with them. Some will pan out and others will not but in the end you will have more than you started with. 3 - You will not take the above advice and will continue to panhandle and beg for freebies and will end up with less than you already have, and will look like an asshole doing it. I am wondering if you can educate me on 'Make some solid investments and stick with them.' How do you define solid investments? Cause as what you have said, there is endless new investments coming out every now and then. So how do you filter them and choose the better one to invest in? You really have to feel a coin out to determine if it seems like a solid investment one big thing for me is like is the dev team willing to address questions and criticism. I've seen numerous times in other threads that were self-moderated you would say something negative to the dev and they would just delete your comment and try to silence you. |

I'm sorry for my ignorance,but can anyone please explain to me what stands for "black" and "red" as I am new and can't find the time to read all the pages of this thread?
Orders in the black are safe and will get filled at that rate, orders still in the red at the end of the sale will be pushed up by the devs and then you're not going to get the best rate possible. In other words, play the game right and win, play the game wrong and lose. Either way all btc deposited will be used to purchase LIR but do you really want the devs deciding how much you pay. I don't think so. I only see black buy orders in the order book... Where are the red ones?  Try scrolling down? o_o I've scrolled,but I think I was doing that too fast and didn't saw them.. Anyway,thanks! Lol, no problem. I'm starting to wonder if a bunch of people are going to end up leaving their orders down there with how it's looking or they didn't know about the red black system. |
