The 1000 mhash person was a botnet. Microsoft just patched it out the same time the 1000 mhash miner disappeared.

Source: http://www.coindesk.com/microsoft-destroys-bitcoin-mining-botnet-sefnit/

"Microsoft has gone on the offensive against the ‘Sefnit’ botnet and it has remotely removed an older version of the Tor Browser from an estimated two million computers.

Sefnit is a curious form of Tor-based malware that managed to infect millions of computers and turn them into zombies for click fraud and bitcoin mining"

H2O said he knew this person and confirmed it was NOT a botnet. Another lie found out from H2O!

To be honest I thought it was a Botnet right away, Who on earth could afford to plow so much money into hashing power so fast, Trouble is , I'm now worried their tactics have changed and it's hidden in plain sight , I've lost a ton of hashing power since yesterday, And for the life of me can't see where it's gone.

GPU mining is NOT dead.

you can buy 9 R9 280X cards for $3500 and get the same hash rate 6MH @ 1800W. Power usage is higher than ASIC (1200W). But GPUs have a second hand market value. GPUs come with warranty and they are manufactured by well known companies unlike those ASIC vendors who accept BTC and Western Union payments only.

Exactly what I think too, Who wants to be left with a machine that's no good for anything else. Totally not worth it.

More to do with the fact you jumped down my throat because you think I have no idea what I'm doing,I haven't posted a lot, But I've been reading these forums for ages.

That wasn't me though..

Besides, I'm not a deep-throat kind of guy - I prefer the kind of friction you can only find in an unshaven armpit.

So sorry about that lol , I thought it was that nob from earlier haha, Going blind in my old age.

Really gutted because my hash rate has dropped off to exactly like it was before I reinstalled Windows, I don't know what has happened, The only answer I have is that the stat reporting has changed for everyone, But if that was the case I'm sure other users would be complaining they have lost power.

Nice! Smiley
Cat is the first for now, then Doge

Is that your hashing power calculated ? If it is, Then good luck lol  Grin

Your problem was MultiMiner. I had this same problem a few weeks back. There's a bug in bfgminer so that every time the network difficulty changes (pool switches coins) the hashrate drops.

Yeh, It's a shame because I wanted to give it a chance, I liked the fact its got an iOS app, I would pay handsomely for a CGMiner app on my phone, CGRemote is fine and all that but I need to view the rig from a handset.
166  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] profit switching auto-exchanging pool - middlecoin.com on: January 22, 2014, 11:59:02 AM
What was the fix buddy??

Less i;ve missed it, would be good to have it on here.

Yeah, great earnings over the last few days, shame if you missed a load of it.

I really haven't got a clue, I think somehow the registry got corrupted or something, I was getting errors on Multiminer, But saying that it was never a stable app to use when you're overclocking.

One thing that crossed my mind was that it might of been a trojan of some sort, But that's crazy talk, I don't think I could of got infected even if it was possible to make one that steals hashing power of rigs that are already mining, because I have every update and its a clean official Windows not a copy or anything like that.
167  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] profit switching auto-exchanging pool - middlecoin.com on: January 22, 2014, 11:41:38 AM
if u got solution to ur prob
drop a solution here
i am finding the solution too

Pulled a lot of my hair out, Seemed like that didn't help, So I reinstalled Windows fresh, And all drivers, Dumped Multiminer and went back to CGMiner.

Haven't got any other advice apart from that,, Sorry.

Hopefully it looks as though it's hashing fine again.

What happened at the point of the first big drop??? because its fine up till then, then when it comes back on its ok for a few hours then the next drop chops off the 10%. Find the cause of the first two big drops. That will most likely be the cause of the problem.

It was a power cut, Really not cool because last night was the biggest earner in ages, So i lost a hell of a lot.

All good now touch wood, Thanks.

More to do with the fact you jumped down my throat because you think I have no idea what I'm doing,I haven't posted a lot, But I've been reading these forums for ages.

I was asking about the function of this pool so I feel it was perfectly acceptable to be asking the things I did.

Lucky for me, It looks like I have solved my issues.

You said "even your PC" was reporting 170 less than yesterday--meaning your local client, didn't say it was only this pool. Since you had such an immature tantrum on this board and think post count means anything (LMAO), I expect you to continue to have problems.

Only idiots think post count means anything, and your
Please take your technical questions to another forum. Your problem is not specific to middlecoin so please don't clog this forum up any more than it already has been with spam and offtopic stuff. This goes for all the other technical/hardware questions as well... there are other sub-forums that you should be posting in instead, and you will get faster response there.

It isn't and wasn't a technical question, It was about the fact that my hash rate had dropped by a lot ''ON THIS POOL'' , Who the fuck are you to tell anyone what to do anyway ? Noob, You're no different to me, Ten more or so posts and you own the place? GTFO!

If anybody has something useful to say about a drop in performance on this pool, Please let me know because I hope I'm not alone.

Post count means nothing, Sure but you have no right to be an authority over anybody considering you have only opened your gob a few times, Most likely judging by your posts probably only to talk crap to somebody, And as far as tantrums go I'm not the one doing it.

Go advise somebody on the outside lane of the motorway with your eyes shut.

Power cut? uninstall all the vga driver with Atiman, then reinstall them. see if that works. Smiley

edit: did not see you are  reinstalling Windows, but i would try just the driver first.

Have you had problems with the driver after a power cut ? I didn't think it could be that, Too late now lol, I just hope it works after all this.
173  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] profit switching auto-exchanging pool - middlecoin.com on: January 22, 2014, 02:41:49 AM
You have major configuration issues, and looks like you are losing cards or the whole rig constantly. Middlecoin stats show big averages, takes a long time to catch up. If you aren't stable, it won't be stable.

It's where I've been shutting the miner down to change settings, It was all working fine untill a power cut, Now both cards aren't anywhere near the amount they was working at before, Somebody said before its impossible the cards would be effected and not be broken, But I cant see how they would be hashing fine one minute , And the next I've lost well over ten percent of my hashing power, In any miner I run.

They were running at 1.77 Mh/s in Multiminer, Now only 1.61

It's doing my head in, Now I am reinstalling Windows to see if it helps.
174  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] profit switching auto-exchanging pool - middlecoin.com on: January 22, 2014, 02:03:34 AM
I know everybody is probably going to shoot me down in flames, But since yesterday something has changed, I'm no longer getting the hash rate I was, I've dropped at least ten percent overnight, I checked and double checked all my settings and temperatures , Reinstalled all mining apps, Tried every config i ever used and also the older versions of apps to see if I have lost my mind, But no , I have lost ''AT LEAST'' 170 Kh/s overall since yesterday, Its actually reporting less on my PC than i was getting yesterday, I cant see how it is possible, Everything is the same.

Queue everything is fine for me comments in ....Three ....Two...One

175  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] profit switching auto-exchanging pool - middlecoin.com on: January 21, 2014, 05:29:37 PM
Usually a brownout is what causes the damage; a blackout usually doesn't cause any issues (Though keeping the computers on a UPS is ideal)

Are the hashrates lower on one card, or are all the cards hashing slower?  Usually if there's an issue with a card it won't even show up.

Both of them are underperforming, But the power company here really suck ass, So it wouldn't surprise my if drops in voltage happened frequently.

If you're trying to judge your mining performance, look at your local hashrate in cgminer or whatever you use. Not at what the server reports. That fluctuates far too much and depends on whatever bugs the database currently has.
If a graphics card was broken, it probably wouldn't mine at all.

I have been looking at what CGMiner is reporting and its slightly under what i normally have, I suppose the best thing to do is leave it be till the morning and see how its running.

Thanks for the help everyone.

Edit: Its still complete shit even after an hour and half.

I give up and I'm off to bed, Touch wood by the morning my hash rate will improve.
176  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] profit switching auto-exchanging pool - middlecoin.com on: January 21, 2014, 04:56:23 PM
my has has dropped recently too, but my temps are stable, and i should be at 4.5mhash or so, im reporting 3.7 right now. 3 hour looks ok though.
http://middlecoin2.s3-website-us-west-2.amazonaws.com/reports/12nDW2yYFeiLMyZB2kqNY82wEU4D5cMRxf.html

Thanks for the info, I hope its not permanent because i will kill whoever caused the power cut if thats the case, I was previously using Multiminer , Now its not hashing close to what it was.

I switched back to Cgminer but it hasn't helped, Surely mining a different coin couldn't cause such a difference ?

I've got a horrid feeling the cards performance have dropped due to damage from the power cut, Because surges aren't good for them are they ?, I spent a lot of money on my PSU, And a decent surge protected extension lead.
177  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] profit switching auto-exchanging pool - middlecoin.com on: January 21, 2014, 04:44:41 PM
Could anybody kindly tell me how coinGeeks graph is calculated ? Is it based upon shares ? Because I had a power cut and since then I've been struggling with configs and different miners trying to get my reported hash rates back to where they was , And they are nothing like it, I cant see any difference in temps , I've got the air con running as usual, Could it be the pool ?

Err.. But that's not what the man was saying, not at all.

Oh, and what a great "shut the f**k up or get the f** out" comeback to a reasonable observation (slow applause). After 20 pages or so, it was long overdue Wink

Damn miners, coming here and questioning the operation of a pool they share 3% with!

Next thing you know they'll be questioning the rock as well! Heresy I tells ya, pure heresy!!

But seriously, I think the man raised a valid point. An operation this big shouldn't depend on one man.

"it's just a display issue, will be fixed soon"?

True, but anything could be happening to the pool when stats are down and no one would ever know about it. It's not like they are ever corrected afterwards (or even could be corrected, since coingeek simply captures the real-time values).

So for all we know the pool could go caca-cuckoo while the stats are down and/or the operator's asleep.

Exactly! Somebody with some sense.
180  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] profit switching auto-exchanging pool - middlecoin.com on: January 20, 2014, 05:39:28 PM
I guess you will get some flame from this ... but you deserve it a bit.
The pool is still an one man army and it does seem like it was designed that way. For somebody like you, who is worried for some meaningless stats, this might be important. For the other part of us, who looks at the transactions to out wallets, this means nothing. After all, we are here to GET PAID and having every minute stats is just an extra.

If you are saying h2o should skip sleep because you want your stats... think again and move on. I think he should get as much sleep as he needs so he can be with a fresh mind and work on bottom line improvements.

And he is earning the amount because there are results from his work. Soon it might be £3000/hour and this again will be because of the bottom line results and not because of the every minute stats.

Now stop being stats-addict and find something meaningful to do during your day instead of hitting that F5 button.

All this also applies to all you other stats-addicts.

I'm not a stat addict. Neither am I'm naive, The point I was making with the amount he is earning, Is that he can more than afford to employ extra staff to help with the running of the site and the pool, If that isn't a valid point then i don't know what is.

You can all say how great the pool is and be as defensive as you like , Fact is things could be improved drastically and with the finance flowing the way it is, It could be fixed as we speak.
