Is it possible to mine ethash with rented hash from nicehash?
Seems like a good profit.

Yes, it's DaggerHashimoto on nicehash.
You can't make profit though, all you will effectively be doing is buying Ethereum with Bitcoin.

To make profit, there has to be loads of hash and hardly any buyers or you are mining a more profitable coin than the other buyers.

I've circled a Bitcoin round so many times with every algorithm with no significant profit and even loss sometimes; running 24/7.
When Zcash/Zclassic came out, that was the time to buy; made so much money off that. Put most towards my house deposit in the end. Smiley
You have to realize the people renting you hash on nicehash are also miners. They have their setup so they mine the most profitable coins(unless they are clueless)..........or if nicehash is more profitable, you get to rent. In other words it is highly unlikely you will be able to pay a rental fee and make a profit because you can't rent if the miner can mine something better. What rental IS good for is speculation on a coin. If you think(for some reason) that coin X will be selling for a high enough price later, you can then consider rental as an investment in a future sale. Also some people don't care about profit. They want to support a particular coin, so they rent.

Short version......if you want to play around with rentals, define your goal. If it is to support a coin, then rent away. If it is for profit, set a calculated price on nicehash and leave it. If it mines cheaply you get some coins and a gain. If your price is too low then nicehash is simply your btc bank until you cancel the order.

Hi!

Im new to mining and at Multipool i have a hard time to navigate since its auto-switching.
Right now i have rented some hash from nicehash and pointed to.
Scrypt hub.miningpoolhub.com Port 12001
X11 hub.miningpoolhub.com     Port 12007.

Both workers is on auto, i can only see the hashing speed from nicehash.
Where do i on hub.miningpoolhub.com check my hashpower and my shares?

I have choosen to auto-exchange into BTC if that matters.

Just trying out for fun right now!
Since you are using auto-switching, you have to do a bit of clicking to check your hashrate and shares.........at least until the pool owner makes some planned changes to the home page.

First click on "auto-switches" at the top left of any page, then look to see which coin your auto-switch pool is mining at that moment. Next click on that coin and then click "dashboard" to see your hashrate. You can also click on pool or blocks for more info if needed.

Since you are new to mining, I'd suggest you do a bit of investigation about which algo or coin to mine at any point in time. Whattomine and Coinwarz will help. miningpoolhub's scrypt pools are very small with few coins or miners, which can hurt your profit(I say profit, but serious doubt any profit exists in scrypt). X11 is often very similar. Right now the ETH, Equihash, and Crytonight profit should be better...........assuming you make wise hash rental decisions. Good luck Smiley

@aaronsace I see you have added a "Donate" for 10 minutes line to your 2.4.3.2, yet that isn't documented or mentioned anywhere. Care to explain it's intent?

Currently nothing; it's never used. I'll document if I do add it.
Most of those options are not used.
Yes, I saw it was set to false. My point was that you should document it(once ready) so people know how to set it to true and/or adjust the time.

I'm using auto-exchange.....so I repeat, why are they still being mined on MPH?

If I wanted to multi-pool mine and withdraw/exchange coins myself, I would. Done it for years. I don't want to do that. Hence I use auto-exchange.

If you are exchanging then you should just mine the most profitable. Why are you mining maxcoin?
The coins got mined while testing your powershell LMAO

Why are the maxcoins not going to exchange?

Because bittrex delisted maxcoin.
Then why are they still being mined on MPH?

You can still mine and withdraw them.

i think the mining profitability  is not right fro amd

i calculated for r9 270 -380 x470   and each time i see zcash above monero  but actually  i test couple of calculator  but monero is more profitable

i checked a couple of time

Try MultiPoolMiner, it will mine the best algorithms specifically for your system: https://github.com/aaronsace/MultiPoolMiner/releases
That is not entirely true. Your program doesn't test even various "i" settings. I like what you are trying to do, but it is far from a test all cards and algos to mine the best. I could go on at length about the various things you should add to your program, but the biggest one is for it to test at LEAST user input "i" settings during the benchmark. I know, I know, you don't want to crash rigs, I get it.

You can set custom settings yourself if you already know them and add custom miners (JSON is supported).

I would like a list if you have it as I can't implement it if you don't say; try to focus on solutions to problems if you can:
https://github.com/aaronsace/MultiPoolMiner/issues

Although I will be adding some custom settings I can't currently see it being possible to test every combination as the possibilities go up exponentially. You are getting then into the realms of tweaks like overclocking and would take hours/days to work out.
Maybe you think I've said something bad. I think you have been great taking your free time to help free of charge. I commend you and truly appreciate it. I could tell you a shitload of things you could get a powershell to do, but the community would go into total freakout mode.

My simplest suggestion is to force user input before the benchmark to set parameters of testing. If they know what already works for their rigs that is golden. If they don't know they can just opt for the default test.

Can someone help me understand the setup and how to use the auto exchange?  I thought I had it setup, but now I don't have a clue where my funds have gone or how this is supposed to work.  Can someone talk me through the setup and how to get your funds that are auto exchanged?

I am mining Monero at the moment, I see some are listed under balances as "on exchange"  So where are these funds and how do I get to them?  Thanks.

Sounds like you have it set up correctly, but are not understanding the labels. Coins listed under "credited" are mined coins you can withdraw or move to the exchange to be sold. "Credited for auto exchange" contains mined coins that will go to the exchange soon if you do nothing.(in the coin wallet you can move them to "credited" if you wish so they are not sold). "On exchange" are mined coins already transferred to an exchange to be sold/converted into your desired coin. Once the coins are "on exchange" you just have to wait until they get sold, then your desired coin will appear in "Credited"

Please tell me if it works Neoscrypt algo on pool now?
Sgminer crashes after few seconds.
MiningPoolHub manager give me a string: --no-retry -k neoscrypt -o stratum+tcp://hub.miningpoolhub.com:17012 -u username.worker -p x
But the same result.
Any other algo working.
Win 10x64, 5x Rx 470s 8gb
Any ideas?

Set the 'Auto Exchange' coin on MiningPoolHub to your desired coin then use MultiPoolMiner to mine the very best algorithm for your system:
https://github.com/aaronsace/MultiPoolMiner/releases

Sorry for my bad english, maybe you did not understand my problem.
My problem is immediately closing sgminer when Neoscrypt algo is processing.
Bitcoin is my autoexchange coin, sure.
Only Neoscrypt problem, any of other coin/algo works.
And with multipoolMiner the same trouble: when Neoscrypt algo starts, sgminer window closes immediately and process stopped.
For different version of sgminer -the same result. For any port (single/multi) etc.
So just it is only my problem? Anyone haven't this bug?
The sgminer neoscrypt doesn't work for me either, but it is not important to me since the neoscrypt algo doesn't have a coin worth mining(profit wise). Right now FTC would be the most profitable but is terrible when compared to other algo coin. For my rigs neoscrypt would make roughly 5 times less than ETH/Equihash/Skein

@miningpoolhub

Can you please checkup on some coins that have been on exchange for ages? I posted about this weeks ago and they are still stuck. Example: Verge-Scrypt   0   0   409.70969140 <------been that way for many weeks. I don't mine them any more(unless of fail-over) so this just clutters up my balance page.

@aaronsace  I finally got the script working and honestly don't have a clue what the problem was, nor what fixed it. Same thing was happening on two machines but after doing and redoing 3-5 times on each machine it finally works. I can only conclude there was a problem with my connection to the pool, since all other factors were tested/removed. Firewall/AV changes etc. had no effect. So quite frankly I'm stumped as to what happened.

@aaronsace........something seems wrong with V2.3

During benchmarking it is opening several miners at once

That sounds correct if you have more than one type of chip (AMD/NVIDIA/CPU).
I guess I didn't explain that very well. I mean it is opening up Clay Eth miner 40, Claymore Eth miner 20, sgminer gpu algo's etc. etc. at the same time, which of course means the benchmark is worthless. It is opening more than one at a time, and not closing the previous benchmark test. I went to grab a beer and came back to 9 open gpu mining windows :0

could you guys let me no where you bought your baikal miners from I was looking but heard of a few sites that are a scam Thanks

i bought mine straight from baikalminer.com, contact has been done via skype
thank you
I personally wouldn't buy a Baikal again. The ROI when I bought mine($500 when they first released them) was a bit less than 90 days. Now it is closer to 300 days and even that is after Baikal dropped the price to $300. My mini makes about a dollar a day now Sad

@miningpoolhub

Has the site been having problems on the Baikal ports? My Baikal has been shutting down randomly and has to be reset, OR it goes to a fail-over pool. It never did this before the recent server move.
I've been running a number of baikals here, no problems that I've noticed.  I'll keep a closer eye on it for a bit and let you know if I see anything.
This is what mine is doing. In fact it was down when I just checked it and got it going again.

No problems here... But I am only mining dash atm..
Could you set one of your Baikal's to mine the ASIC Baikal to see if you have problems? I've been watching mine(since I'm bored) and the problem seems to happen SOMETIMES on a coin change. It doesn't do it every time, but when mine goes down it is during a coin change.
