161  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin as a global reserve currency? on: January 01, 2020, 11:34:09 PM
Bitcoin is the perfect financial entity to be used as a global reserve currency but the only problem is that its decentralized nature and the limited amount of it  will prevent majority governments from using it as a global reserve currency.  A lot of countries governments will prefer that they are the ones in charge of control the inflow of the crypto coin in the financial ecosystem. Since Bitcoin is not like that, it might be very difficult for them to consider it as a global reserve currency.
162  Economy / Speculation / Re: When is the perfect time to sell BTC? on: January 01, 2020, 09:17:19 PM
Answers to this question would have some individual preferences based on several factors. for instance, the level at which you bought the bitcoin and your sell off targets that you have set. A piece of advice don't look at making insane profits in one single trade or investment, that will leave you rekt. Sell bitcoin when you have made at least 30% gain in profits. This is not a financial advice but my piece of mind which i know has saved many from huge losses.
163  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are stablecoins a definite solution against a bear market? on: January 01, 2020, 08:33:09 PM
Sure but if the bear market is going to last for a long time then the stable coins are likely to fluctuate as well unless its issuer decides to mint new coins into the system. I have seen Tether fall below a dollar and even rise above a dollar by some few cents. But in the midst of short or moderate bear market like what we have been experiencing for the past 1 year stable coins are surely the answer.
164  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Your preparation for 2020? on: January 01, 2020, 05:31:51 PM
2019 saw much of dips than pumps but we hope this year is going to be different with some good returns on our investment. I have bought into some masternode coins that have seen a major rise even in the past bearish market. I have picked some good alts for myself, thought anybody can also make his/her choice.

165  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Some big things to watch for in 2020 on: December 29, 2019, 06:41:26 PM
The further release of Ethereum 2.0 and bitcoin halving are two positive news that would boost the crypto market but news about Libra and that of case with telegram are basically like a drop in the ocean. It will have little or no effect on the on the crypto industry. Next year is certainly going to be a big year for the development and adoption of cryptocurrencies.
166  Economy / Economics / Re: What if crypto vanishes? on: December 29, 2019, 06:36:20 PM
I don't see how this whole technology is ever going to go down the drain just like that. This will never happen as the true impact of the blockchain technology can never be felt without the use of cryptocurrency. Decreasing transaction cost and having a transparent financial system will not happen and we will go back to the old corrupt ways where government officials abscond with huge sums of money.
167  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ENIX - Another scam coin from INVACIO team!! on: December 29, 2019, 05:40:27 PM
Thanks for this quick heads up @OP, i believe you have really saved the few gullible ones that might have felt for this scam again. It's a huge task on all of us to watch each others back especially with regards to the team members of some projects. A team member can scam you in one project and also join a new project and this is also likely to be a scam. Let's all do our own research in any project we decide to invest into.
168  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Week (Dec 22-28) on: December 29, 2019, 12:54:37 PM
Are you sure Roll Eyes ...that the purchase of bitcoin rises during holidays? i think it is rather the opposite as people sell bitcoins to have fun with their friends and family members during these times. If there were stores that accept bitcoin then people would have no need of cashing out but use their bitcoins for all their purchases but there ain't so they have to sell their bitcoins in order to have some fiat currency to spend.
169  Economy / Speculation / Re: 2020 Bitcoin halving!!! Bull run??? on: December 29, 2019, 12:01:29 PM
We will not see the regular bull run that accompanies most bitcoin halvings for the past years. Surely the price of bitcoin is going to increase but we are not going to see any huge increase in price to some insane figures that some technical analyst are saying. My prediction of the price of bitcoin after halving will not be higher than $15K.  Grin
170  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are Altcoins getting Boycotted? on: December 28, 2019, 11:51:09 PM
Seriously most people are giving up on altcoins because of the poor market growth that most have achieved ever since they were launched. Many of the altcoins have suffered a huge dip in its price making their investors lose huge amount of money. Count the number of altcoins that have turned out to be scams in this industry and that is the main reason why many investors are now focusing on bitcoin investment only, therefore the increase in the dominace of bitcoin.
171  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum co-founder Secretly Sold $11M Worth of ETH on Christmas Day! Got Outed! on: December 28, 2019, 11:21:45 PM
I don't think we have any reason to make a fuss about this as he owns his own assets just like anybody else and can choose to do it whatever he likes. First of all with the future of Ethereum 2.0 i think it would be cool to grab some of these ETH which are being sold cheaply everyday. Also, i don't think he sold it for the purpose of celebrating Christmas, who knows he needs this money urgently to sort some health bills or family crisis.
172  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Libra coin alive or dead? on: December 28, 2019, 11:15:58 PM
Not much can be said about the faith of that cryptocurrency as the SEC seems not to be in agreement to the launch of that coin. I think that project has been put on hold at the moment pending further developments and approvals from the SEC. Not to sound like a pessimist but i don't have any hope that coin will ever get all the needed approvals to enable it launch into the crypto industry.
173  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Daily Living on: December 28, 2019, 09:58:50 PM
I wish i could use my bitcoin in my daily expenses but unfortunately the marketplaces that operate in my country are not friendly to cryptocurrencies and so none accept it at the moment. I am hoping once the adoption of cryptocurrencies and bitcoin keep increasing they will get to understand things and modify their payment systems to accepting bitcoin.
174  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is difficult to accept in countries on: December 28, 2019, 07:14:12 AM
I can say confidently that many countries really appreciate the use cases of the blockchain technology but will never approve of the use of bitcoin because of the financial transparency and freedom that it gives to the people. I see most countries creating their own digital currencies in the near future.
175  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: YouTube admits error over Bitcoin video purge on: December 28, 2019, 07:05:23 AM
I remember i shared my opinion about this topic sometime ago that Youtube will be doing a great harm more than good if they are to do this. There are so many crypto related accounts all for the purposes of educating the public and they are going to lose a huge number of viewers if they should flag crypto related contents. I'm happy they have realized and trying to mak amends to this situation.
176  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is Bitcoin a Good Investment? Does Hodl Work? on: December 27, 2019, 10:40:58 PM
Bitcoin is a good investment  but this depends largely on your investment strategies. For instance whiles holding you might want to switch to stable cryptocurrencies in terms of extreme volatility. The price of bitcoin will hit an all time high again and you don't want to miss this opportunity of not having in store some amount of gold coins
177  Economy / Speculation / Re: December’s Significance for Bitcoin: All-Time Highs and Bearish Bottoms on: December 27, 2019, 07:27:44 PM
The end of the year has always been a great spike for the crypto market but this year and last year has been quite down. But let's not forget, i think this year is better than last year. The heartbreak of most crypto enthusiasts is that many were thinking the end of the year can see a short bull run of bitcoin but this did not happen. Let's hope we see a great rise in price by the middle of next year.
178  Economy / Economics / Re: Is there formula for bitcoin price ? on: December 27, 2019, 06:30:45 PM
Lol, there is no fomular to calculating the price of bitcoin. The price is determined by the reactions on the crypto market, news, further developments in the cryptospace. The price of bitcoin is very volatile and i don't think we can have any fomular that can accurately be used in calculating the price of bitcoin. Stay on CMC https://coinmarketcap.com and you will always be informed when the price changes.
179  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What kind of crypto trading do you recommend with $50 investment? on: December 27, 2019, 06:08:00 PM
Not too look down on the OP but $50 investment into cryptocurrencies is way too little amount to yield substantial amount of profits soon. It will take you months to make something decent if you are to go into day trading. Come to think of it, what's the probability that you are going to make profits in every little trade lol. Dude add a little to say $200. I think this will be off a good start.
180  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Deutsche Bank predicts cryptocurrency could replace fiat by 2030. on: December 26, 2019, 08:35:47 PM
Surely  the increase in adoption and usage of cryptocurrencies would increase in the nearest future but i don't think cryptocurrencies would completely replace fiat. I see a future where both currencies would coexist but many people would prefer to use digital currencies instead of fiat currency. Some folks are still going to use some major cryptocurrencies as a good store of value.
