Their headquarters, where they plan to operate, and if they're even registered. They may also implement KYC procedures even if they aren't required by law.

If you're asking how to know whether or not they implement the procedures themselves, it should be on their site somewhere or you could simply try signing up.

Another factor is whether the ICO is open to investors of all countries. Some countries, including the US, may have onerous restrictions of their citizens invest in ICOs. You could argue that cryptocurrencies are stateless, but governments have a way of establishing nexus and coming after you. That is one reason why ICOs (and even gambling sites) restrict participation from US citizens.
With implementation of kyc and aml, will that prevent countries from coming after the company

Thanks for the information everyone. Why do some ICOs restrict the US and certain territories?

What determines if an ICO requires KYC and AML?

I think it works because with the times, we must support and follow this. because crypto is a tool for excellent transactions in current technological developments.
I agree. What better way than to bring finance and technology to sports.

yes, I have several ideas for the marketing and use of token for crypto bet platform, but a project is not only an idea needs more things to succeed
What else do you think is required for a successful project? Can a great idea sell? Is huge capital required? I feel as though a great idea and passion will go along way

I think it needs focus also plan, understand/research what is lacking in the market, do not need a huge capital, but a capital that you can at least begin to develop the idea to show investors that the idea is good and it's worth they put money, this being still the project after I think marketing and product(platform) is the minimum necessary for success

I've been doing research for a few months now and see this as being a new market. I've started doing the whitepaper and landing page myself. I have a couple of marketing teams willing to help for a stake in the company. I've also been working with an attorney. Do you think an MVP is necessary or can the idea and/or team work. Everything will be transparent and the smart contract will protect investors funds.

I think it would be better for you to have a MVP(no necessary) and the licenses and registration if necessary

I personally do not recommend you give any % for marketing promise, I think it would be better for you to look for angel investors, every weekend there is a blockchain event with thousands of investors that you can go personally and raise funds later with money raised finish the platform and NOW to worry about marketing like a ICO
I understand angel investors would be the best, but how do I approach them and have something to present without the proper funding for a MVP. The most I have now is a whitepaper and website I've been working on myself. Do you think that will suffice?

do not you think it's a good idea to make a token to use in the platform and then make a ICO you can raise enough for development/marketing and other things
You don't think an ICO is a good idea? That's the point of the ICO. Before the ICO funds are needed for marketing and web development.

Does anyone think a crypto sports trading project can succeed?

I suppose you wanted to say a Crypto sports betting website? I don't see a reason for a project to fail as long as the business plan is reasonable. I am not into betting so can't give any advice but there is Sportbet.io, I participated in their advertising campaign in their early days and I see they are still here. So I guess it's working well for them...
FYI, they are the worst thing happened to bitcoin sports-betting scene. They are a well-planned scam running multiple scam gambling projects. Anyway, OP there is a huge scope for sports betting projects as long as you have the right talent to market it. It's not just limited to good UI or fair anymore, people are more concerned with support, speed, and anonymity. Observer the existing sites to figure out what they lack, you can take those negatives to plan your project accordingly.
I wouldn't consider this sports betting, but more as investing. If your team loses, you won't lose everything; the team's value will just decrease. Have you tried many crypto betting sites?
Yes, most of them have started with a huge bankroll and have invested massive amounts in promotions and marketing. I wouldn't consider your project as total gamble.

Ideas come and go, the only implementation is all that counts. If you are really passionate about the idea, validate it from a few friends and see if you can go about implementing it. A great idea cannot sell without a market for it. You don't even know if your idea has a market yet.
I've done research, asked friends, and we feel like there is definitely a market for this.
172  Bitcoin / Project Development / Looking for Partnerships on: August 25, 2018, 01:47:43 PM
Seeking individuals with an interest in cryptocurrency, sports, and trading. The individuals must also have knowledge in front-end and back-end development. Offering a partnership and or stake in the company. I'm about 80% completed with the landing page and 70% with the backend.
173  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Seeking Partners and Investors - Crypto Sports Trading Platform on: August 25, 2018, 11:26:11 AM
Anyone interested in a partnership or investing in a new crypto sports trading platform? Currently seeking seed funding
What is a 'sports trading'? Do you mean sports betting? If I was you, I'd probably elaborate a bit more to convince why it's safe to invest in your idea. The project is not something you'd get up and running in a couple of bitcoins.
I would consider this sports investing. It's kind of like buying and selling stocks. Individuals on the platform can purchase virtual shares of their favorite sport teams and trade peer to peer. additional tokens can be earned when your team wins and appreciate in value. You must own shares of the team to earn additional tokens. It's almost like staking. If anyone is interested. I can go further in detail.

I am looking for some very unique blockchain/crypto related project that is in a early stage and wants funding.I have a budget in 5 figures and would like to get partnership in proportion to my investment.
I can choose 5 different projects to invest in or 1 single project to invest all.
Scammers stay away as I will be doing thorough research and documentaion before investing.
I have a revolutionary project I'm working on that is bringing fintech to sports. I can email you the whitepaper if interested. I'm currently looking for seed funding and offering a very generous stake.

This would be a much different concept. For example, the token sale will allow individuals to purchase utility tokens for the platform. Afterwards, individuals can use the tokens to purchase virtual shares of their favorite sport teams to trade p2p on the platform. Each team will have a bonus pool it which the tokens will be locked and only distributed when teams perform well. Have you ever heard of a concept like this before?
I hear out this kind of concept and i have seen some project which do have the same motive about having a utility token on this specific sport genre but i didnt see they do able to succeed. There no much interest on this thing on my own view.

If marketing is done correctly and the platform built right, this idea could surpass betting. For example, lets say if you ar eon wagerr.com or another cryptosite. If your team lose, you lose all your money. On a sports trading platform if your team wins, you get bonuses and the value increases; if you lose, you only have to worry about your team value decreasing and not losing everything.
