Just enable sms-notification and you'll trace each and every transaction on your bank account; nowadays transferring funds via Internet banking (even to a different continent and bank) takes 1 working day. One of the biggest cons with wire transfers is not speed, but the necessity to enter the purpose of your transactions, which completely destroys their privacy, plus additional documents you need to provide for amounts greater than $10 000, which can be a real pain in the grass.
162  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin has defeated gold on: August 16, 2017, 02:49:33 PM
Behind the current good health of Bitcoin, there is a monetary battle raging in China. If Beijing manages to control transactions better, Bitcoin may not continue for a long time to shadow the venerable gold standard.
Officially the world was taken off the gold standard on 15th of August 1971, when the USA stopped exchanging dollars for gold without premium even for governments, while for individuals the Treasury stopped exchanging dollars for gold without premium on January 30 1934, so there is nothing to shadow long time now.

Έχεις κανένα άλλο νέο alt κατά νου σου που πιστεύεις πως μπορεί να επαναλάβει την επιτυχία αυτή ή το είχες διαλέξει εντελώς στην τύχη;

164  Economy / Economics / Re: Is USD being used for illegal activities? on: August 15, 2017, 08:43:39 PM
goverment must ban any illegal activity, he must freeze the bank account of terorism
Am I the only one who feels that governments spy on their citizens and fear us more than the meanest terrorists and are not ashamed to use illegal methods to control and still our savings made in national currencies? Would they leave the BTC uncontrolled and threaten their dictatorship that they impose on us behind the circus with "democratic elections"? Since when the most spoiled characters stopped starving for power and hold the key government positions, and since when this world started to be ruled by angels (who would let into existence a currency they do not control)?
165  Economy / Economics / Re: Can Bitcoin End World Poverty? on: August 15, 2017, 08:29:20 PM
Poor do not have $10 000 to spend on mining equipment, nor do they have access or knowledge to pick and buy a potentially profitable altcoin at the ICO stage to invest in $10, go from $0.04 to $4000 and get out of poverty. So no, I don't believe Bitcoin can eliminate poverty, but stopping the social security aid, free sharing of the farmland to the poors and hard work on their side - can.
166  Economy / Economics / Re: Why the world really needs virtual currencies on: August 15, 2017, 08:19:24 PM
It amazes me that we have a currency that can potentially protect us (working people) from global financial crises. This is unique and incredible time in history! Grin
If you want to protect and preserve your savings, use precious metals. Crypto currencies are good for pure speculation only, and have been around since 1980s - most of the national currencies in the Western world became electronic and hard to produce by unauthorized parties decades ago (back then credit cards must had been seen like a miracle too). I know that production of new crypto currencies is limited and shared among many miners, but still... it does not look much of a safe haven to me, since most of them belong largely to the big capital (building huge farms), and thus their price is subject to manipulation no less than the prices of other financial instruments.
167  Economy / Economics / Re: Anyone who bought coin under $18,000 BTC, will look like a genius soon on: August 15, 2017, 07:56:23 PM
Wait till this really starts to go up we will all look like genius.
I love waking up everyday to new all-time highs, but this euphoria is getting pretty tangible. I'm seeing lots of these threads. The last couple posted today predicted a 50 trillion dollar market cap within a year, and prices of up to $60,000. And you are saying that buying anything under $18,000 will make us look like geniuses, so that means you expect much, much higher prices than that. Maybe the time for a nice, fat correction is coming soon. Cheesy
Given that the world population holds 80 trillion dollars on bank deposits and that only 0.1% uses bitcoin, I assume its market cap will stay around 80 billion, unless large financial institutions decide to join the game for good (but officially they are not so exited about it).
168  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin has defeated gold on: August 15, 2017, 07:44:52 PM
Above ground gold is worth $6T compare that to BTC market cap, and you'll see that it's a hundred times smaller. But even gold is nothing comparing to seeds and drinking water (they are building GMO free seeds depositors not for fun).
169  Economy / Economics / Re: The dream of getting rich with bitcoins on: August 15, 2017, 07:32:21 PM
Also believe that altcoins at ICO stage have a greater potential than BTC, so speculate in both.

Grin
