I am still on 346 Linux drivers and I set my clock and mem speeds in .nvidia-settings.rc as an attribute.  My xorg.conf file enables all gpus in the system as well as coolbits.

sp_, what was wrong with nvidia-smi before the fix?  It seems to work great on my Linux install, there's just no power readings.
167  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: CCminer(SP-MOD) Modded NVIDIA Maxwell kernels. on: June 22, 2015, 09:15:41 PM
i agree. quark algo definitely in the shitter.  anyone have luck mining the newest announced coins, and then dumping right away for better profits?
168  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: CCminer(SP-MOD) Modded NVIDIA Maxwell kernels. on: June 17, 2015, 04:48:25 AM
any linux guys having trouble with commit # 829?

If I try to run the newest miner, the command prompt drops to a "#" (pound sign) and no mining happens.  Reverting to an earlier version of the miner shows the same results as well.

maybe so at the moment - ( and currently you are spot on ) but thats not really what its all about with the donation links ...

well, i was just thinking, mining quark could give SP_ a larger sized beer as opposed to any X algo.

any of the X algos are less than half as profitable as quark or lyra2re

nothing about power consumption in that AMD release article.  which, for miners with > free electricity, means almost everything.

quark profitability dropping. major hit last week. anyone have suggestions on what else to mine?

@rednow, which cards do you have?
178  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: CCminer(SP-MOD) Modded NVIDIA Maxwell kernels. on: May 18, 2015, 04:28:51 AM
yeah power meters are pretty cool. i have a cheap-o Kill-A-Watt and the display updates only once a second, but the range of fluctuation is only a couple watts.

i'm drawing 2.75A from the wall.  All my miners run on the 80+ gold-rated supplies. Looking it up, put in a 12% gain in efficiency and the system is drawing 290W total at the PS.  System is:

  • Intel Celeron G1830
  • Biostar H81S2
  • 5x PCI-e 16x-1x ribbon risers
  • 5x Giga 750ti OC
  • 1x Kingston HyperX 8GB DDR3
  • 1x cheapo Sandisk Glide 16GB USB stick running kopiemtu

here's the Seasonic I use: http://www.hardocp.com/article/2013/10/30/seasonic_gseries_g750_power_supply_review/4#.VVln4a3ImkA
This one's efficiency is pretty flat all the way up to full load.

The +125 MHz overclock in Linux gives me 6.0 MH/s right on the nose, for the Giga 750ti OC cards.
179  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: CCminer(SP-MOD) Modded NVIDIA Maxwell kernels. on: May 18, 2015, 03:36:19 AM
I just looked at my power meter.  I'm running a modded kopiemtu 2.0 usb stick install (ubuntu 14.04) with 5x 750ti cards (Gigabyte OC with 6 pin on top), and a +125 MHz overclock on each card .  With Quark on the latest commit and no -g or -i switches, power comes in around 330W total for the system.
