I would also like to find out more details about those initial 10,747 coins. If something happened in the first genesis that paid out extra for some reason, I will gladly replenish 10,747 coins from my personal wallet to account for the mistake. Our coinDev should be replying very soon regarding the error.

Einsteinium is and will always be an ethical coin. 100% transparent.

Hello fellow Einsteiners,

Ryan has worked long and hard and I'm proud to announce to the world our first video covering EMC2.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cixWuh6AUcc&feature=youtu.be

This is the first in a long list of videos that we have cooking in the back ground. We look forward to your reviews, comments and creative criticism if there is any that is.

Dont forget to share it on your social media pages. Lets get the word out!

Hi, just to note that it would be better that the video will also include the quantity of donation we gathered appart for each project, not only the 2% mining.
Nice video by the way.

Hi there, the video does show the Epoch donation amount in fiat currency. But you are right, we should include the EMC2 coin volume that was converted. There will be new videos for each Epoch winner exclusively and I will include the EMC and fiat amounts as you suggested. Thanks!

Love the video, the music is wicked. Thanks Ryan and Christine!

The video is all ryan. It is good to see it's finally up!

Nice job on the YouTube video!, Not sure if anyone pointed it out yet but there is a typo on the very end it says "find our more" Instead of "out". Just trying to help , and I will be sure to share the video as much as possible.

I didn't notice that, it was really late for me when I finished and uploaded the video last night. I will make those corrections and upload a revision shortly. Take care!

Hey there Einsteinimites,

Wanting to let you know that I have been very busy this week but I have finally have some time today to finish our introductory YouTube video as promised. It will be a short (1 min) video explaining some the key features and benefits on Einsteinium. I know I promised completion earlier in the week and I'm sorry for the delay. The excuse? Simply some last minute travelling and quality time with my girl for whom I've neglected since launch of the coin. A lot has been going on behind the scenes and encourage all of our supporters not to be discouraged by the trade price. If anything, use this opportunity as I am to stock up on low priced coinage. For those looking for quick profits, that is not our goal. The goal is a slow and sustainable growth overtime so that we give as much as possible to scientific projects later down the road. For me, the pride of knowing my efforts are going to something bigger than myself is payment enough. That being said, I invest 20% of my paychecks into Einsteinium and I will continue to do so until I can't anymore.

Our supporters are the greatest I've seen in the cryptosphere and you are the ones who keep us working hard and pushing toward a brighter scientific future. Strap on your seat belts ladies and gentlemen, this is going to be a busy busy week for EMC2.

Here's a screengrab from the YouTube vid:

Just as a matter of principle, I think x11 is the way to go... embracing a more eco friendly algo with less heat will be an overall good thing for a coin that is about science.

For the sake of devils advocate, ASICs also use substantially less power and should produce much less heat as well. Running gaming graphics hardware does seem like the future to me. Those are just my personal thoughts.

is there still going to be emc2 news this week? Saw a dev of emc2 in the poloniex chat saying something big is happening this week.

Yes, there will be several bits of Emc2 news coming this week. Stay tuned..

You can submit a science related project you think deserves funding.

The nominations you make should abide to the following:
Nominations must follow the scientific method and the fruits of their labour should be publicly available in the future, as is the work of the miners funding them. The end result should end in peer reviewed publication, for our preference is to fund open access projects, so our community can view the studies results and data upon publication.

Nominations can be Education related projects such as organizations providing educational support. These organizations must have a clear STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) focus. There must be a clear structure to how the organization achieves it’s educational mission, and a clear target audience.

Nominations based on engineering and technology projects must achieve a clear scientific purpose that will preferably be open source, or open hardware. We do not want to fund the latest gadget for a commercial technology project. Likewise projects which attempt to address a major need, such as projects attempting new clean energy technologies, will also be considered.

Submit your nomination now!

Hi my wallet is showing error I need to upgrade my wallet or other nodes needs to upgrade how can I fix this error so the right
transactions can be displayed?
a wild guess would be... update wallet? Lol

Check first post of this thread.

I have deleted my wallet several times and already downloaded 5 wallet but I always get a notification that I should upgrade ...
WTF where can I get an upgraded wallet I have a payout to receive on one of my pool...

Please let me know if this helps!

Here how I fixed it and got Albert synced up..

#1. Close Albert.

#2. Make sure you enable "view hidden folders" if you are in Windows. You can find out how to do that here: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/show-hidden-files#show-hidden-files=windows-73

#3. Head over to: C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Einsteinium

#4. Delete everything you see in the Einsteinium folder *EXCEPT "Wallet.dat". Make sure you keep Wallet.dat safe (and backed up).

#5. Open Albert and give it a minute to start syncing.

Hopefully that ironed out any issues.

Thank you all! I didn't expect so much feedback and help, even with this active community. I don't know how to repay you at this moment, but I guess a photo of a card that died mining EMC2 would be good:

(2x6870)
It mined from day 1, started about 4 hours after the ann. RIP.

Sorry to hear about your loss. Sending you 1000 EMC2 to help you get back on your feet.

EMC2 coming to atomic-trade.com soon!

If true this would oddly be the most appropriate exchange for us.

I Think it will happen before the weekend!

EbBYw5V2ME2PjgGgQX5vzaQEq2KBrshvGx
ByronP is the owner, has a feeshare set up to give 75% back to the ATP rewards program.

I just sent him some EMC2 for testing, after making sure he was on the correct fork of course lol.

Thank you for the help and support. Let us know if there is anything we can do to help Atomic Trade add EMC2!

A scientist explaining funding options for pre-grant projects, Doge and BTC are mentioned!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=hw2mHEMUfkI#t=0

Thanks for the heads up! We try to get in contact with him ASAP to let him know the benefits of EMC for SCIENCE.

I tried to reach out to him. He is difficult to reach. Also the alternative funding ecosystem with cryptocurrencies is VERY new. Only Unidan and Walter Moss (the person we funded) have achieved project funding through cryptocurrency. In some ways they are still evaluating what to think about this. Even crowdfunding is a relatively new concept. The scientific community is still relatively new to this.

As new as we are to scene (Just over 1 month), it's pretty amazing how far we've come along. EMC2 is really on the bleeding edge of technology and possibility when it comes to funding science. Our next Epoch should help bring in a lot of people outside of the cryptosphere who are still on the fence.

[The Einsteinium Foundation (EMC2) Press Release]

The Einsteinium Foundation has given their first financial contribution to an important scientific research program using EMC2, a new cryptocurrency like Bitcoin. Every month, projects are nominated and voted on by a public EMC2 worldwide community at www.einsteinium.org

The Einsteinium Foundation (EMC2):

David Black - Chief of Public Relations (david@einsteinium.org)

Christine Paluch – Scientific Liaison (christine@einsteinium.org)

Ryan Wright - Marketing and Communications Officer (ryan@einsteinium.org)

Daron Thomas – Social Media and Marketing Director (daron@einsteinium.org)

To raise awareness that the Einsteinium Foundation has made its first financial donation to a scientific research program, nominated and selected by the process of worldwide users, voting online at www.einsteinium.org.

Voting took place Thursday March 20th - Tuesday March 25. Polls opened up at (12:00 AM) and closed officially at (12:00 PM)

The Einsteinium Foundations first ever, official financial donation in the amount of (526314.56 of EMC2) or the value of (approx. $1,000 in USD) has been made on 3/29/14 to Walter Moss, a post-doctoral researcher in the lab of Prof. Joan A. Steitz at Yale University, for his work finding out if viral molecular structures can cause cancer.

The Einsteinium Foundation will be delivering the funding to Walter Moss through a crowd source funding site he has subscribed on known as Experiment.com for more information on his work, please visit https://experiment.com/projects/can-viral-molecular-structures-cause-cancer

Their first official donation took place on March 29th 2014 in the amount of $1,000. Their second donation will take place on April 29th with a total sum that is yet to be determined. Donation totals are based on the amount of coins mined as well as the current market value.

We believe scientific research is an essential long-term investment in our future, and the future of our planet. Global funding for the ‘big ideas’ has fallen dramatically in recent years. On average less than half a percent of a nation's GDP is spent on science and technological research.

Ideas that would profoundly change our lives, are woefully underfunded. Advancement is stifled, and promising new projects abandoned - not for lack of vision or scope, but the simple lack of funding. Worldwide the number of students choosing to study physical sciences is also rapidly declining.

We at the Einsteinium Foundation believe raising awareness, and engaging future generations in the sciences at an early age, is a key factor in halting this decline. To that end we have created the Einsteinium digital currency (EMC2), which automatically donates 2%  of every block mined, to the Foundation Fund at the point of being mined. The Foundation then selects various scientific research programs and science education programs, that are nominated by our social media community on public forums such as, Reddit, Bitcointalk.org, Twitter and Facebook and posts these different causes on our website www.einsteinium.org where community members will then have the chance to sign up and vote for which worthy cause they believe should receive the funds.

The mining of Einsteinium is divided into Epochs, each Epoch mines 36000 blocks of coins and is targeted to last approximately 25 days. Every 25 days a new Scientific cause will be selected and giving funding.

Like Bitcoin and its siblings, Litecoin, Primecoin and DogeCoin, Einsteinium is a distributed peer-2-peer digital currency.
