161  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: STORJ ICO - Blockchain based cloud storage- 25 mill so far on: May 22, 2017, 10:41:28 PM
I like the idea of Srorj, but why does it keep doing ICO's?
162  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Rise of the community coins - Will ArtByte be the next Gulden? on: May 22, 2017, 10:38:33 PM
Every time you guys add a new chart, the price is higher! I think the comparison to Gulden's rise in price is a fair one. It seems artbyte is getting more and more recognized.

I hope it continues, if it rises like Gulden did, that would be 1000 sat.
163  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How Much Money Did You Lose NOT Buying ETH? on: May 20, 2017, 05:48:46 PM
Did not lose too much, I eventually bought it, glad I did
164  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Under 500k Dollar Marketcap - which altcoins are worth to buy? on: May 20, 2017, 05:46:46 PM
checkout ArtByte, it just moved from a MCap of about 400k, to over 1mm in the last two weeks. Dev is still very active and they posted there development plan for the next year.

165  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: How do I change my altcoins for BTC? on: May 20, 2017, 05:43:03 PM
Just move your altcoins to an exchange that trades your coin and sell it for BTC. To find the exchanges that trade your coin, go to coinmarketcap.com, find your coin, goto the main page for your coin (not the list of all coins) and click on markets and it will show all the exchanges that trade it.
166  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Let's be honest.. on: May 20, 2017, 05:38:36 PM
It is simple, outside of blockchain fans, very few people know of Litecoin, the news is talking about Bitcoin.
167  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] AppleBytes - the cryptocurrency for the arts! on: May 20, 2017, 05:36:17 PM
Thanks for the update on ArtByte. I have mined it from the beginning and still holding, I like the price now, but I think it is headed higher!
168  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / What happened to all the Doge threads? on: September 02, 2015, 01:26:06 PM
Why no threads on Doge? I have liked the coin from the beginning. Any news?
169  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Article re: how PeerTracks, ArtByte & others are revolutionizing music industry on: September 02, 2015, 01:24:09 PM
I don't quite understand the PeerTrack system, seems to0 complicated to me.
170  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The Dogecoin, Dash bout on: September 02, 2015, 01:22:02 PM
Not really a valid comparison, both coins are in very different markets.
171  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Forex Minute article regarding how ArtByte is revolutionizing the art world on: September 02, 2015, 01:20:11 PM
Some nice details about what ArtByte is doing in the art world and that's a great quote from the article  Smiley
Good work!
172  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / US Regulators cracking down on altcoins on: July 18, 2015, 02:42:06 PM
US regulators are really cracking down. The Dept. of Justice now has a five man strike force investigating digital currencies.

Although I think the regulators are over-reaching, in my opinion regulation is a good thing that will weed out the scam coins.

Which altcoins are currently registered, or in the process of being?

I only know of two coins seeking to meet the new regulations:
Ripple
AppleByte

Are there others?
173  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Litecoin is officially dead on: July 18, 2015, 01:49:20 PM
Shocked

Highly unlikely that this coin will ever die as long as Bitcoin is around.

The base is too large.

I agree, as long as there is even a slight possibility that Bitcoin might stumble, LTC will be around.
174  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Looking for profitable mining with ASICs, GPUs and CPUs? on: July 18, 2015, 01:47:33 PM
I wholeheartedly recommend the AppleByte pool. I have used it since the coin launched.

The bonus paid on CPU & GPU mining makes it work, and the low total hash rate on the coin makes ASIC mining still profitable as well.
175  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why DOGE is so cheap, What am I missing?? on: July 16, 2015, 01:00:52 PM
Doge really isn't cheap. It still is 5th in market cap.
176  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: AppleByte is changing its name to ArtByte on: July 16, 2015, 12:58:08 PM
I personally like the name AppleByte. But I understand the need for the change, and ArtByte is more descriptive.
177  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which altcoin should i invest in? on: May 19, 2015, 11:05:46 PM
For longterm investment, I like AppleByte (supports artists) & Gulden (created for use in the Netherlands). They are the only two coins I see with rapidly growing real world adoption.

As I discussed in this post: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1060938.msg11378742#msg11378742
178  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Whence cometh the giant killers? on: May 16, 2015, 10:31:06 PM
Adoption happens when users outside this forum and the short-term altcoin exchange speculators are actively engaged in the community, using and spending the coins.

Also, social media stats are very easily faked using Asian "click framers"...
1000 Twitter followers costs $12, 1000 Facebook likes cost $29.99, etc

Not to even mention that Github Activity can mean incompetent Devs and endless problems like XMR):

Just because social media can be faked, doesn't mean all coins fake them. Do your research look at the followers and activity, it is easy to tell if they are real or not.

Your second comment about Github, I agree with completely! More often than not the ones with the most changes were coded poorly the 1st time and the activity you see is a constant stream of bug fixes. Dark is the best example of that, imho.
179  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / The regulators are coming! Ripple fined $700,000! on: May 16, 2015, 04:16:15 PM
The Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN) has fined Ripple Labs and its subsidiary XRP II a combined $700,000 for "willful violations" of the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA).

180  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Top 3 Favorite coins and why? on: May 16, 2015, 04:10:37 PM
AppleByte (ABY)
Gulden
Doge

These are the three coins with real user communities (outside these forums), engaged and using the coin.
