Hi AC Community

I was in a discussion with the WoodWallets.io about wooden AsiaCoin wallets, and in order to get the crafting started we would need to make a pre-order of at least 15 wooden wallets. Is this something the community is interested in?

The cost is 0.043 BTC (~6150 AC) for a one-sided wooden wallet (public or private key), and 0.057 BTC (~8150 AC) for the two-sided public and private key.

Note: Please only confirm interest if you're ready to pay for it as we need to pre-order at least 15 if we want to have AC added. We can arrange it but only if we have enough interest to fill the pre-orders.

Thanks Smiley

Hi Asia Coin Community,

I run a brand new Crypto Blog site and dedicated my 3rd article to the relaunch of Asia Coin! Smiley

http://www.judgecrypto.com/1/post/2014/05/the-rebirth-of-asia-coin.html

I am a new site so please no bounty!  Donations graciously accepted though...
Any link backs are also graciously accepted.

Thanks for the article, there are a couple of inaccuracies but in general it's a well written article and I'd be happy to promote it on our Twitter, once the inaccuracies are corrected:

The original Asia coin was supposed to have a small premine. It was supposed to have no premine.
Little did people realize that the original dev hid some code in the original wallet that gave himself 1 billion extra coins. Nearly 3.2 billion coins
I remember seeing on the original bitcointalk thread there were people offering to BUY AC for 1 BTC per Million. That's 0.05~0.1 BTC per 1m AC

Well done in general!

I don't seem to understand how do I move balance into the "Stake" balance in order for PoS to work. Any advice?

You can't manually move them into stake balance but if your wallet is unlocked and your coins are mature for staking (2-week+ old), they should go into stake balance automatically.

Guys, just noticed that the link to total number of coins on coinmarketcap.com still points to http://theasiacoin.com/explorer/ it will be great if you can contact them and fiix this. Also they are using the old logo, so they need to change that as well.

Congrats for the good work!

We've already made contact Smiley It should be fixed soon.

1) If i stake my coins, does that mean they are frozen and can't be used for 2 weeks?
2) thank you thank you thank you
3) I have lots of coins. I want to join the foundation and help somehow. Is there anything I can do (I don't know how to code)?
4) if I donate AC then you might have to sell to btc to use? Should I donate btc instead?

1. No. You can use them anytime you want but they but their age will reset after they are transferred so you will need to wait for another 2 weeks until they are mature for staking.
2. Welcome!
3. If you have skills like marketing or social media presence you can definitely help out even if you don't have technical knowledge.
4. We generally try to pay bounties in AC (though whoever gets paid in them might just sell it). We don't trade them for BTC unless we have to. Use whatever you prefer, if you pay in BTC it certainly can't be dumped to reduce AC price.

Very nice article Dyna, very nice. I really liked it. Let us know when it's published and we should help promote it.

A few updates on our progress:

  • Mintpal listed us again today and now we are on all major exchanges except Cryptsy, which rumors are indicating that will add us tomorrow.
  • Our block explorer has the beta functionality but still not ready for a public release but we expect that to be ready tomorrow or on Tuesday. In the meantime if you run a service and need the block explorer, PM me and I will be able to share it with you before the public release.
  • We're arranging bounties for certain development tasks and progress which will be announced soon both here and on our website, in the meantime, if you can provide a service that you think can help, please PM me and we should be able to agree on a bounty.
  • We need help with our social media presence. If you can help us, please send me a PM.
  • We need more articles written about the revival of AsiaCoin, we are able to help out with the content and with promotion. PM if you're interested.
  • We need a pool developer/engineer to help with our dedicated multipool, and we can pay a bounty for that. If you want to join our foundation, even better! Again, PM for details.
  • We need articles in local languages, so if you can speak in any local language (any, but Asian languages are even better) and have time and interest to help out, well we need you big time.

All ideas, suggestions, criticisms are of course welcome.

Since MintPal has been relisted AC, can you ask Hash Cows to add AC as payout again?

Already done, they're working on it so it should be very soon.
169  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: PoS difficulty interpretation on: May 12, 2014, 01:16:30 AM
Thanks. That what I thought basically. I was looking into the source code to make sense of how it's calculated but couldn't really understand it (I'm not a C++ developer).

I truly compare asia coin with e. g. pandacoin (PND) which made it these days to grow 40 times in a week.

Asiacoin has 400.000 USD market cap instantly after relaunch even if many people are cashing out rewards (those who bought really cheap out of exchanges). The effects of dumps (cashing incredible rewards) vs. pumps (people hoping in future growth) are ballanced now.
Asiacoin previous "devs" scammed people and destroyed the coin reputation and the coin itself.
Asiacoin has not working webpage with explorer so its hard to verify anything. Only promise and alpha-version which doesnt mean full operation.
When i open asiacoin webpage at coinmarketcap it opens nothing. Page not found.
Asiacoin was taken over by community - this is OK.

vs.

Pandacoin has marketcap slightly above 500.000 USD, was long time below 10.000 USD in capitulation phase. (40 times growth up to present day) Asiacoin was always above 150k USD. Only coins below 100k USD have enough potential to pay the huge risk by buy-in because 98 of 100 coins never get pumped again really apparently. Relaunch/Repump-coins are not very probable to grow up again by re-pumping more than 10 very rarely 20-100 times (you probably remember mooncoin, kitteh, doge and another few coins which significantly have grown for more than one times).
Pandacoin was never dead, premined or left by developers.

So thats the problem, this coin is expensive for the risk which brings to buyer. I have bought some but i dont believe in it as a value-keeper, im expecting pump and dump or dump if the pump fails (this may happen because so many people selling previously bought coins for bagrain prices).

And the endings - i wish you much successfull work with this coin, but i must admit that you begin with really nice value of the coin which you must now deserve...

Thanks.

There's no denying that the original dev screwed AC up pretty bad, no discussion there, and we have nothing against Pandacoin for say, they even supported AC community by giving everyone free coins (which are now worth some good value indeed), so full credit to them and I think they deserve their increased value. About website, we reached out to coinmarketcap even before we released the wallet and asked to fix our details: info, website, moneysupply, etc. They haven't done it yet but hopefully they will soon. Nothing we can do really about it that we haven't already done. New website is: http://www.thecoin.asia by the way in case you haven't seen it yet.

I personally think what happened to AC can only add to its value, we experienced the worst possible disaster and came out on top and really what's to fear now? What doesn't kill you makes you stronger and that's clearly the case in situations like this.
171  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][AC] AsiaCoin | MANDATORY Wallet 2.0 | Back on Mintpal | Premine Voided on: May 12, 2014, 12:07:31 AM
Why mintpal started at 800 satoshi? Its too expensive to make a good profit  Angry
Webpage - not working, block explorer - not working, many transactions - void or invalid, so why the hell they opened with 400.000 USD market cap??? This belongs to coins which already deserved it. The price 0.05 BTC for 1 million as someone described, would be absolutelly OK. I bet it would not stay at 800 sat if mintpal set opening price to 1 satoshi.

Some corrections:

1. Website IS indeed working with up-to-date news, specification, comprehensive FAQ and download links for wallets.
2. Block explorer, we have paid a respectable and trustworthy developer of block explorers here to create a block explorer for us. We have the beta functionality up and running (we shared it with all services, exchanges, etc that asked), but it's not fully ready for a public release. Many altcoins right now do not have a working block explorer, at least we are transparent about it and have explained that we paid a professional to do one for us.
3. There are no invalid transactions and since when too many valid transactions are a bad sign?
4. Exchanges don't set the price, people do.

Your first line says it all: It's too expensive to make a good profit which indeed confirms you're trying to buy low and sell later at a high price. I have nothing to add. If you truly believed that the real value of AsiaCoin is 0.05 BTC for 1m, you wouldn't have said that or considered buying now to make a profit out of it Smiley

I leave it to the readers and community to see through it.

Wow Asiacoin back from the dead? I sold all 80k AC I had at a huge loss. I guess there's no getting those coins back except for buying them, huh? I'm very reluctant to do that...

That's true. If you sold then you sold and it's gone. I understand it's sad because a lot of people sold at something like 1m AC for 0.05 BTC or something that ridiculously low and obviously some people took advantage of that.

Hopefully the progress here until now and in the future will convince you to get back into AC at some point.

I sent some ac from poloniex to bter and the coins sent are not visible on bter : am I alone to experiment this problem ? (the sending from poloniex to my wallet worked perfectly on the other side).
Is there a way to see the transaction somewhere ? (The block explorer is not working, I believe the new one is not ready...).
Thanks for helping me.

If you give me the transaction ID, I can have a look (we have our alpha block explorer working).
Thanks :

I sent a ticket to bter : I presume they will correct the problem tomorrow hopefully.

The transaction is showing up in the blockchain so I wouldn't worry.

176  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: PoS difficulty interpretation on: May 11, 2014, 09:29:25 PM
From the code it appears that the search-interval measures the time it took to generate last block, i.e. it is the difference between the last and previous blocks generation times rounded to an integer.

In your last example the difficulty was higher, so it took approximately a second to create a block.

Thanks man. Any idea how to make sense of the value of PoS difficulty, the same way that we can make sense of PoW difficulty?

Well done dev team.

Massive well done, fixed and back on mintpal.

These guys deserve respect

You're welcome. Feel free to leave us trust feedbacks if you're happy with our work.

Best way to help us to join the foundation and help AsiaCoin because this is only the beginning. We're now getting back to where we were, to make AsiaCoin what we all want it to be it will take efforts from all of us.

So, I haven't touched my coins ever since I mined them at the beginning, how should I go forth now to not lose them?

Just follow the instructions on the OP while upgrading to the new wallet and everything should be fine.
