161  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [ANN/INFO] CARDSMITHS - CURRENCY SERIES 1 TRADING CARDS on: March 15, 2023, 03:16:33 AM
Regarding redemption sets that have been sent in, Cardsmiths is not sending out notifications when sets are physically received in the warehouse.  They will be sending out "confirmation" emails once the sets have been opened, inspected, and contents verified as having satisfied the requirement of being all 62 non-foil cards.  This is going to take a few more weeks as there are a few important elements that are still being put into place to make sure the inspection and verification process goes smoothly.

If you sent your sets in and the tracking shows as delivered to the address provided, then that should give you a high degree of confidence that the sets are in our facility waiting for inspection and verification.  Once verification emails start going out, I will let everyone know.

The Cardsmiths team appreciates your patience.

Thanks for the update @JUPITYR

Are you able to tell us how many submissions were received in total?
Just curious to know how many people wanted to redeem at least 1 set

I am surprised these haven't sold out yet.
The detail on these coins is beautiful, and the pub address lasered on the back is very neat.

I’ve never seen this before either, thanks for sharing
164  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [WTS] Squirrelbits Skull #17 on: March 12, 2023, 06:31:29 AM
Wow I can't believe this has not sold. They sold out in a few hours when listed. Shocked to see it sit for og sale price. Glws
It is a beautiful piece of collectible art, but the loaded amount has put it out of my price range this month.

Whoever was to buy it would be getting a bargain, i agree

Same as last time i am just in this for the fun. As i already have one of these great 3D-printed coins, if my number comes up, let it roll again until you hit a winner who needs one

Finally pulled that elusive 1A today! Set complete! Submitted a set redemption form but it is looking like all 62 spots are filled up, unfortunately. I like this idea for the redemption program, and I can appreciate the value added aspect of making it so there are only 62 cards to be redeemed in exchange for 62 full sets. I can’t help but feel late to the party. That being said, I’ve been having a lot of fun collecting these cards. I am still confused about the MR8 Year of the Ox CS card, this is the only CS card that does not exist throughout the entire set? Or is there a CS MR8 that has yet to surface? Side note, if anybody needs or still wants any base set cards, I would be willing to swap, sell or trade any/all of them, pm me and we can work something out.
Welcome to the forum and congratulations on pulling the 1A base card to complete your set, that is a rare card.

Unfortunately, if you only just filled out your redemption form, then you will be on what could be a big waitlist. It seems like all 62 spots were taken in about 24-48 hours. I am guessing these diamond cards will be highly sort after, some more than others, depending on what card people get.

It would be great if they could increase the redemption set to 73 cards and include all the MR cards, this would help those who missed out due to an email routing error that occurred.

Regarding the CS MR8 year of the ox" card, this was discussed here and should not exist: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5406560.msg61182189#msg61182189

Can i ask how many holofoil MR cards you have seen so far?
What other cards have you not seen yet?
We are trying to track down a few cards not seen by members here yet

I think it would be good it we could either start filling up this database to track what has been found and what is missing from the set:
https://www.tcdb.com/ViewSet.cfm/sid/326094/2022-Cardsmiths-Currency-Series-1 (I have emailed them about the missing cards 1A & 28A)
The database could be very useful, it looks to have a spot to upload gemstone cards, error cards pics, etc
Looks like they even have a forum section for each card type, not that i would want to see our chat moved from here: https://www.tcdb.com/Forum.cfm/Page/S/ID/326094/2022-Cardsmiths-Currency-Series-1

Very interesting piece, I like it!

What is the thickness and weight of the piece?
What is it made of, silver?
168  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [ANN/INFO] CARDSMITHS - CURRENCY SERIES 1 TRADING CARDS on: March 09, 2023, 01:49:29 AM
Imagine if every time someone bought a collector box they received an Email linking this exact thread. Promoting a community of Cardsmiths activists where you could show off your cards, trade, etc. It would be a neat gesture and a great way to grow the community. Of course then why wouldn’t Cardsmiths just make their own trading forum? Pros and cons to both.
I was just searching for any other forums or discussions online, i couldn't find any but found this:
https://www.tcdb.com/Checklist.cfm/sid/326298

Edit: Looks like an ok data base to add pics to, they have categories for error cards, gemstones, etc.
Unfortunately, they do not have all 62 cards listed yet, or any of the MR cards that i can see. I have sent them a message.

I would like to see us all help fill that database!

Has anyone pulled a large redemption?Huh I have not heard of anyone pulling anything larger than .01 btc
With apparently over 20x 1 ETH cards and more than 5x 1BTC cards in the series, I am also surprised a big one hasn’t shown up yet.
It would be good if they could at least verify these coins are waiting to be distributed.
170  Other / Off-topic / Re: weekly loans on: March 08, 2023, 12:18:55 PM
Anyone needing a crypto loan should always request the amount in a stable coin, that way you will not be exposed to any sudden price spikes
171  Other / Off-topic / Re: weekly loans on: March 08, 2023, 12:07:38 PM
mnightwaffle has been taking regular loans here for years now, as far as I know he has always repaid, so if I was a lender I would consider giving him small non collateral loans, but would request collateral for any amount of 0.01 BTC or greater, this is based on what I am willing to risk and what I can afford to risk. If someone else wants to give him 1btc as a non collateral loan big deal, that’s between them

And yes, lending a non reversible currency on an internet forum to a gambler is high risk, no matter which way you try to spin it.

I must say that in no way do I know if mnightwaffle is a gambler or not, he may just be like a great percentage of the population living payday to payday and can’t find a way out of the situation. He may even lack ID and this is his only possible way of getting a loan.

At the end of the day it comes back to the same question, what business is it of yours?
I know you are just asking out of curiosity but that information should remain private between the lender and borrower unless they both agree to share it, like in a public post
172  Other / Off-topic / Re: weekly loans on: March 08, 2023, 09:48:01 AM
there are people here asking for a loan every week   why is that? mnightwaffle
Why is other peoples lives any of your business? If someone needs/wants a loan and can repay, then he has the right to ask for it. Same as if someone trusts him to repay it is their right to loan him. Either way it's none of your business.
Exactly, it is none of the OP’s business why someone wants a loan every week.
It may not be good for a lender to continue this with a customer unless they get collateral as “payday” type loans are typically rated as high risk

The payday lending business is huge, lots of people live payday to payday and if you are living like that all it takes is to get behind 1 or 2 weeks and you will need to take a high interest payday loan just to pay the rent, keep the lights on or food on the table.
The problem usually lies in that once you start with very high interest loans, you may need to take a few before you are back on your feet again, they are designed to trap people. At least the BTC payday type loans here are low interest compared to payday lending.

In most occasions it’s probably for gambling, but so what, you are not the lender so why care?

Definitely Ross. Andreas Antonopolis. Maybe a moonman / astronaut card. Gox already got a card but a card for Karpeles in a Japanese prison jumpsuit would be fun. SBF in a jumpsuit, lol. Caroline Ellison dressed as Hermione with a wand making everyone's money dissapear. Ilya Lichtenstein and Heather Morgan doing a bitcoin rap. Do Kwon "Steady, Lads" card. Joker burning paper and saying "It's only money!". CZ and Brock Pierce trading stacks of BNC and Tether for a "stablecoin" card. Winklevoss Twins and Barry Silbert could be on the next-gen bagholders card, hehehe. Eric Vorhees could be laughing all the way to the bank, rolling the SatoshiDice.
I love the jumpsuit/prison stripes idea, although not for Ross, only those that stole from the crypto community should be portrayed in a negative light.

While on the topic of villains, the queen of crypto scams Ruja Ignatova (Onecoin) should be added.
174  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [ANN/INFO] CARDSMITHS - CURRENCY SERIES 1 TRADING CARDS on: March 08, 2023, 04:17:08 AM
I would suggest Hal Finney and Nick Szabo should get cards in the next series. Dorian should get a card too!
Great suggestions.
I would like to see cards for Ross Ulbricht, Charlie Shrem, Roger Ver (like these people or not, they are all a big part of bitcoin history)
And of course Mike Caldwell needs a card  Wink

I got a waitlist email. Glad that this set getting attention though

Oh wow. I knew it would fill up quick, but a little surprised so soon. I know you got approved for some earlier sets you submitted, correct? What day did you submit this last set that hit the waitlist? I hope Todamont got his email today.

I submitted on March 3

Based on my non scientific calculations- you needed to sign up before 9:30 pm Central time on the 24th to get a confirmation. If anyone who signed up after that time received a confirmation then we can move the time back.
I can't remember the exact time i filled out the form, but i received the email back from them at 2/25/2023 at 10:56 AM AEDT (maybe 4pm PT time, I think) so i guess it would have been a few min before the email.
A friend on the forum sent me a DM about the redemption program, he summited before me and i think is still awaiting confirmation, yet i got mine

I received my confirmation email today

178  Economy / Collectibles / [WTB] Cardsmiths- Currency Series 1 Holifoil Set on: March 05, 2023, 01:40:31 AM
As the title states, looking to purchase a holofoil set (maybe a CS set too)
please post or PM offers
179  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [ANN/INFO] CARDSMITHS - CURRENCY SERIES 1 TRADING CARDS on: March 05, 2023, 12:57:07 AM
Can anybody tell me the difference in cards 1,1A, and 53 for the holofoil and crystal sparkle differences? I have multiple of each card, but they are all either crystal sparkle or holofoil, and I can’t seem to be able to tell which. I’m trying to make sure I have a complete set of each version, and these are the only cards I’m having an issue distinguishing. Thanks for anyone who can help out.
I think this was briefly discussed a few pages back: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5406560.msg61789448#msg61789448

Received some redemption cards today.  Really like what cardsmiths is doing with that. Good luck finding that 1btc card. I struck out again.
I am surprised nobody has posted that they have found a 1 BTC or at least a 1 ETH redemption card yet, apparently there is “more than 5 x 1BTC cards” and “20 x 1 ETH redemption cards”
