161  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: A few crypto questions. on: April 08, 2024, 12:09:32 PM
So, we all say that hodling is better than trading, yeah?
When did we all agree on this?
A successful trader should be better than an amateur hodler. There's no easy way to success in cryptocurrency, it all depends on how much you and how well to apply what you know.

And for the altcoins, after buying altcoins, what happens if no one wants to buy them from you? You know a lot of altcoins aren't all that popular so how do people even sell off their altcoins? Can you even hodl altcoins?
It is nice you buy altcoins with value and not shitcoins that are not listed in any popular exchange. Do not fall victim of shitcoins listed and sellable on only one exchange.
162  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: April 08, 2024, 11:08:29 AM
The Title race between Liverpool, Arsenal and Manchester city
I took my time to analyze the remaining seven matches in the English Premier League to know the club that will likely be the champions of the English Premier League. Liverpool had more advantage of winning the title League assuming they did not draw with Manchester United yesterday. That points that the shared with Manchester United in one way of the has affected them. However, from my analysis Liverpool remains the most several right to be the champions of the English Premier League. I have seen the remaining matches of Liverpool and compared it with that of Manchester City and Arsenal. Arsenal has the most difficult fixtures, followed by Manchester City before Liverpool. Without doubt Arsenal we have sound disappointing results before the season ends, it could even be two losses. This will not be said about Liverpool. I think the last woe of Liverpool is the one they have with Manchester United. This is because Liverpool always find a difficult to beat Manchester United even at their prime. But their remaining fixtures will make them happy. If Liverpool fails, Manchester City will emerge. Arsenal is ending the season at 3rd position.
163  Other / Meta / Re: Is gambling problem or anything related to addiction is an off-topic? on: April 08, 2024, 10:47:21 AM
I think the first is the oldest and mega thread about 5000+ pages. I think the author renamed it this season.
The first thread gives you everything to discuss about Premier league. So what it's a mega thread? We don't have WO post twitter link, WO chartbuddy, WO homer, WO green dildo. We only have one WO.
I support your idea of maintaining one mega thread, but if you can flash back you will remember where the deviation started. There was when suggestions were made in this meta that all the mega threads like English premier League, La liga, Bundesliga and Italian Serial A be locked and a new one created. The arguement was that they have lost their relevance. It was after that discussion that other threads began to spring up in the gambling discussion boards. It is just peculiar to English premier League as other league threads don't have duplicates yet.
164  Other / Meta / Re: What is the policy regarding AI generated images on the forum? on: April 08, 2024, 10:28:43 AM
Lately I've been generating images with AI on a private level and for entertainment. It has occurred to me that at some point I might add some to a post but I would like to be clear that I am not breaking any rules. In any case it would be as an addition to what I write and making clear that it is an image generated with AI.
Plagerism rules on images are not even clear in the forum let alone adding AI images. Infact, there's no laid down rules against AI usage in the forum, it is just a few campaign managers and some forum members that are ensuring that forum conversation doesn't turn to a bunch of AI generated texts.

I think theymos purpose of implementing plagerism rule in the forum is not just to acknowledge the true owners of the idea, but also to avoid people pasting generic texts to earn weekly bucks thereby reducing the quality of conversation in the forum. So, AI images not being passed in a way that pretends that it's your personal art work will not be called plagerism.
165  Economy / Economics / Re: considering the advantage of Fiats over Cryptocurrencies on: April 08, 2024, 10:06:13 AM
While we are so comfortable about the potentials of the decentralized digital currencies such as the Alt and the Bit coins and its centralized exchanges in the blockchains, let's also understand that the Fiats has an advantage over it that you'd have somewhere to go to and someone to hold responsible in some cases that your fund in the bank is tempered by a theft or otherwise than that of Crypto that it's transactions is operated anonymously
Everything is life is not so balanced are when you're dealing with the sweetest parts of it, we fails to consider the bitter side of it.
Most of us as at times thought about how Crypto could dominate over financial exchange for payments without considering this certain advantage of the Fiats and also considering that most persons still lives a primitive live to cope with the digitalities of advancements.
Having money in the bank to have who to hold responsible when the money eventually goes missing is not an advantage of fiat. The bank houses the fiat just like the wallet and exchanges houses cryptocurrency. Think of it this way, if you keep fiat in your house, armed robbers can steal it, who will you hold responsible? I have also seen banks go bankrupt and unable to pay her customers. Fiat has some advantages over cryptocurrency especially in terms of anonymity but in the digital space, fiat has no ground against cryptocurrency.
166  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Anxiety in trading (heart disease) on: April 08, 2024, 09:35:35 AM
Many traders don’t know the after effects of over thinking worrying fear in their trading situations and decisions making, I just want to  drop this as message to everyone that is always worried and scared of losing during trading, you may not really know the after effect of panic and anxiety of losing your trades, each time you think and get worried it results to heart condition that increase gradually. So please everyone should be careful of how you get worried on situations because you may not notice any physical problem but it disturbs your heart internally but you may not know When someone is anxious, their body reacts in ways that can put an extra strain on their heart.
Click on the link below to see more on the heart disease that affects you because of trading.

https://www.hopkinsmedicine.org/health/conditions-and-diseases/anxiety-and-heart-disease#:~:text=The%20Effect%20of%20Anxiety%20on%20the%20Heart&text=Rapid%20heart%20rate%20(tachycardia)%20%E2%80%93,heart%20muscle%2C%20and%20heart%20failure.
Well, maybe it is time to tell my personal story to butress that trading is not actually for everyone. I remember when I was trading, I never had peace of mind. I had the congregation of youths upto 100 before me during a conference. As I was making speech as the resource speaker, I remembered that my portfolio was -50%, I became emotionally spoilt and could not deliver efficiently. After that incident, I stopped trading till today and I can confidently say that I have my peace of mind. If there's anything like heart disease through trading, I think I am now far from it.
167  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Tips for Bitcointalk Newcomers on: April 08, 2024, 08:05:39 AM
Are you looking to earn merit?

Some might disagree, but I think we all tend to earn merit and make ourselves into the higher-ranking accounts in this forum. It's a kind of fantasy, I guess. But I believe you'll always get your desired merit if you add some value to the community with your posts or comments. So at first, you have to focus more on your posts or comments. You can share your thoughts about something or anything that you know well. Also, you can share your experience with something relatable to the platform. Which will boost your account and help you grow. Oh, forgot to mention that you shouldn't just post on your local thread. If you opt to earn some merit, try to post or comment on threads like Bitcoin Discussion, Altcoin Discussion, Economies, Meta, etc., where all the posts or comments must be quality. And of course, don't post something that isn't relatable to that particular thread. If you maintain the quality of your post and follow all the things I have said, you will get merit.
This is the complete irony of the whole matter. In your advice, you noted that we all tend to earn merits. This means you are inclusive. If you tend to earn merits but have just earned only one since 2020, it should be a clear indication that you are not at the right position to give this advice. I doubt you wrote this thread yourself, because you ought to understand that this won't turn out great.
However, I do acknowledge that the advices you gave are good and great, but I feel it's not coming from the right person.

I want to teach you how to make money, I must not be rich to do this. Just follow my instructions and not follow me. LOL
168  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Do not forget your Bitcointalk account password!!! on: April 08, 2024, 07:48:03 AM
We must always ensure that our password should be something which should be easy to remember for us which is related to us personally but it would be very difficult for others to even get a hint. I usually prefer my password as something which is very personal to me as it would be easy to remember instead of having a complicated pasword and forgetting it and resetting it everytime.
I don't think that making your password something that is personally to you is a very good idea. At the end of the day you will have different password for different platforms and that means you have to make different personal things to you as your different passwords. This could become a tedious work are at a time you will begin to trouble your emotion with some personal things that are not supposed to occur to you at that time. If you make something personal to you your password, maybe your relatives could one day understand your password because they would also in one way or the other know things that are personal to you. The best thing to do is to have a password manager and at every time you have to sign up in a new platform, you create a very strong and unique password and your password manager will do the rest for you.
169  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: My experience on: April 07, 2024, 11:36:45 PM
I went to the bank to take out some cash because I have been using my business account for a while and there hasn't been any interest added to it in years. I was curious to hear the cashier's reaction when I told her that I was going to invest in bitcoin rather than keep my money in the bank. She said, "Young man, what do you know about bitcoin? I hope you're doing the right things." She also asked if I felt pressured to do this and showed me her wallet on her phone. She suggested that I use coinbase wallet.  Which wallet may I use, please? I want to know from the forum.
I am just trying to know the essence of telling the short story before asking your question.
  • Is it to make us understand that bank workers do also invest in bitcoin
  • To give coinbase a free promotion
  • To show that it is better to invest in bitcoin than to keep your money in bank
170  Economy / Reputation / Re: AI posts and my feedback on the borovichok account on: April 07, 2024, 11:00:45 PM
“AI” is advanced programming that collects authored data, mixes it up and spits it back out. That is technically completely other peoples work. If AGI existed , real AI imo, then we’d not be able to detect it as it would be legitimately a new authored post most likely far better than most could dream of writing. I see the shit in “legit” mainstream news and media outlets being used and feel it’s insanely unethical. (My 2 as a reformed convict dipshit, so I don’t have much room to talk ).
If AIs were so real to think from one brain and not assembling data randomly on the internet, there wouldn't be any way to prove that a post is AI generated. It is because these AI takes random and generic options and including facts and compile them together. That is why the results are easily detected as AI. If AI users become well advanced and use AI in the real and professional way, it might be difficult to detect an AI written posts. But, above all else, think about it why would one decide to use AI to post in a forum where humans brainstorm to profer solutions.
171  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is forex trading a hobby or a skill on: April 07, 2024, 10:48:21 PM
I greet the house,
I want to share an experience I had today at my work place ,  so we called for an interview, during the interview an applicant curriculum vitae (CV) was checked and under the column of hobbies the applicant put Forex trading,  my question to him was how is forex trading your hobby? He didn't really give a concrete answer to that , so on getting home I made a research on the following

1. A skill was defined as a Special ability or technique acquired by special training in either an intellectual or physical area
2. A hobby was also defined as an activity done regularly in one's leisure time for pleasure

So as a skill forex trading is technical and acquired through special training and then applied to the physical trading market, while as a hobby traders trade regularly mostly when the trader is less busy and also most traders trade for fun,

So considering these points I can say that forex trading is a skill and also an hobby, your opinions are much well welcomed.
In defining hobby, two things are derived from it which are;
  • Something done regularly
  • Something done at the leisure
If the job applicant actually trades regularly, and they also have other jobs or things doing, such that they only trade at their leisure. This can quality trading to be a hobby to him. I doesn't matter if money is involved. It also do not matter if it is a skill. You can have a skill and use it as your main work and I have same skill and use it at leisure as a hobby.
172  Economy / Reputation / Re: If you were a campaign manager would you select these members for campaigns? on: April 06, 2024, 11:55:57 PM
The bar seems to have fallen extremely low when it comes to getting enrolled in the Stake campaign but I completely understand your views on the subject about managers implementing their own rules and interpretations. Having said that, what would you do? If you were a campaign manager would you select these two members for campaigns?

I believe there was a time the Stake manager Carollzinha updated Stake campaign rules and included a rule that prohibits Stake participants from using AI. If such a rule is still being recognised by her, she should therefore remove anyone proven to use the forum with AI.

As of neutral tags or negative tags, it is at the manager's discretion to choose who will promote her project, especially if the tags are not related to scam. Sometimes inaccurate ratings are given, so the manager should decide the severity of each tag and act to the best interest of the project.
If I were to be a campaign manager, I would accept the above two users only if these conditions are met;
  • I have large number of participants to hire.
  • More credible users are not showing interest in my campaign.
However, I think for you to have a more organised response, you could just add a poll to this thread.
173  Other / Meta / Re: Is gambling problem or anything related to addiction is an off-topic? on: April 06, 2024, 11:47:07 PM
The problem with the gambling board I noticed is, there are many topics with similar discussion idea. There are no need for that. Consider premier league.
Upto 3 English premier League threads running concurrently.

Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024
⚽ Premier League 2023/2024 Discussion Thread ⚽
⚽ English Premier League Season: 2023/2024 New
I think the first is the oldest and mega thread about 5000+ pages. I think the author renamed it this season. There shouldn't be a need to rename it. It should be left for Premier League discussion, past, present and the future.
The second one was created for this season and it has already spanned to 100+ pages, I don't think that moderators would like to move it.

Give me reason why we need three [I am sure there are more] threads we need? Everyone wants to have their own thread. Keep one and move many of these to off-topic too. It does not need a rule.

Jollygood has a premier League thread also. Although his is self moderated. Maybe moderators do not moderate a self moderated thread.

175  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Post Bitcoin Halving - Rewards, And Risks on: April 05, 2024, 11:54:24 PM
People are free to spend their money the way they want but having a Bitcoin or crypto plated number is like carrying a placard around on the street with the inscription "I'M SUPER RICH", which IMHO is not a smart thing to do. Most people have this impression that everyone dealing with crypto is doing well financially and when you do this, you breach your privacy, draw unnecessary attention and put yourself in danger.
It will even be better if the person who in scripts bitcoin logo in their car plate number lives in an environment where cryptocurrency and bitcoin is understand to some certain extent. Atleast they will like to know your holdings before they conclude that you are super rich. If you eventually live where they will think that you are super rich immediately you mentioned that you are into bitcoin, your own is finished. Infact, to those people, $100 in Bitcoin means $100k dollars and you cannot convince them. Those set of people can kill you easily because they will not believe your net worth is a way lower than they imagine.
The best way to leave a bitcoin life is to follow the footsteps of the bitcoin master - Satoshi Nakamato. He is the richest bitcoiner and yet doesn't show off and neither do we know him.
176  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What makes a post to be quality? on: April 05, 2024, 11:27:57 PM
Some forum members are known to be shit posters by the way they use English in sentences wrongly, and some readers would say they can't read or merit a post that is written in broken English, and some members of this forum the English language is a borrowed language to them which it is not very familiar with them. Non English speakers will definitely want to use English to discuss in the forum because this forum is all about discussion and for other members to also understand their point because the English language is a universal language for communication.

What makes a post to be quality? Good English language or the content of the post?.
And if good English, well written in good sentences defines a post to be quality is it that Non English speakers are not qualify to be in this forum or to discuss in general boards because they are only good in speaking broken English which is a borrowed language.
Such a nice question you have asked. I believe this question or similar question has been in the minds of many to ask, maybe it hasn't occurred to them to ask in this manner you have done. I will have to give my own answer based on my personal experience in the forum.
  • How refined or connected an English grammar is does not define quality of a post. The quality of a post is all about the content of the post
  • But then, if a quality post (based on content) is written is an extremely bad English, it will be difficult for people to read and comprehend, thereby making the post non quality. Perhaps, it is only when you have read and understood that you will qualify a post quality.
177  Other / Off-topic / Re: I will comeback on: April 02, 2024, 11:55:52 PM
Due to family financial problems and family pressure I have not been able to be active for a long time, sorry for that, But while I may not be active on this forum, I have always researched the raging currency market and Bitcoin and Ard Coin. Now I will try to be active from now on. I have arranged my family nicely in a small house, from now on I will try to be active regularly and try to work well. Please pray for me so that I can do well.
It is fine you take care of your family first before faceing online forum. Not many people care you exist here or so, but your family do. So, care very well for your family and try solve some of your problems yourself. Only come back when it is necessary, no help comes here easily apart from bitcoin related help which comes easily.
178  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I learned something new from Bitcoin today on: April 02, 2024, 11:43:03 PM
I learned something new today. I started bitcoin trading with 100 $ I made 10$ from here and I lost 11$ gambling with 100$ now I don't call gambling bad because I don't understand and I don't have patience to play the game and past I easily from bitcoin made 10$ profit now which one should i choose you say i know a man need bitcoins in future but still a man can be addicted to gambling and to all of you i want to say none of you should be addicted to anything and not to gambling and you are more Trade Bitcoin and see your future shine.
I am surprised that people still compare cryptocurrency trading to gambling. I believe that it is those who doesn't know the technical and fundamental analysis, those who cannot read charts that believe trading is gambling. When you trade without knowing how to trade, you are actually gambling. Trading requires skill while gambling can only be lucky. So, it's better you learn trading which is skills than gambling which is luck.
179  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 🔥 Bitcoin Buy and Hold 👑 on: April 02, 2024, 11:30:44 PM
Your point is not that clear OP, did you buy bitcoin with $100 and traded it to make the $1000+ in profits? Where you holding the profits you got from the trading as you have been trading all this years ? How were you able to keep this coins and still get to trade? Your point is very confusing but to see how much you’ve made from last year to now is very interesting and one will like to make use of your method if it’s not all risky as yours to make some money. Trading is risky and nothing is not worth risking if it deserves it.
The title of OP is very different from the body of the thread. I assume that OP was holding according to the title of thread. But the time frame mentioned by Op wouldn't increase his holding that much, maybe he traded at some points. But trading and making profits doesn't mean you have arrived. You need to show your results in a long term to be sure you are still winning.
180  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Why most of Exchanges FAIL ? on: April 02, 2024, 11:15:08 PM
Be smart and keep your assets SAFE always use a Cold Wallet Your Keys Your Coins
Reminder: do not keep your money in online accounts.

Also you can see Exchange graveyards with Time and Cause of Death.

Most of exchange death causes will be
  • Scam exit
  • Hack and fail to compensate users, fail to recover itself
  • Bad treasury management includes customer money; and bad risk management such as over leveraged; then bankrupt
Most times the way these exchanges fail is hidden from the audience. If it is exit scam, they can tag it hack. If it is mismanagement, they will also tag it hacking. So, it is necessary to know the real cause of exchange collapses and most times governments are not bothered because they are not much involved.
