161  Other / Meta / Re: Merit source observations on: April 15, 2024, 10:30:08 PM
But hey, at least there aren't nearly as many merit-bitching or merit-begging threads these days.  For those of you who haven't been here a few years, those were a massive annoyance for a long, long time.
well, lemme get this straight; Was there any rules that athwarted that behavior before the merit system? Uhmm, I think no so I can safely say they all polluted the system with these subnormalities. I think that's it Smiley

My heart bleeds and pulsates unconsciously every time I visit his profile; how on earth do we keep losing assets like him ? Death is really a horrible face of afterlife
Shitposters complaining about Merit. All it proves is the system works as intended Smiley
For the first time, I'll agree with you in his case. Yes!

1. Lack of merit* > users hard to rank up > demotivated > users leave the forum.
C'monnn man, what are you talking about?? I've read through several mega threadslike this one   and I've observed that it has a whole number of people that left the forum before [when you could make a hundreds of thousands of incoherent post and rank up like wild fire], in-between and after the merit system was adopted. Having these delusions in your mind is  definitely gonna make nothing outta you!

Ambat, the system has be adjusted in a way that detest alot of people in some ways.. mind you, death is a major factor that encompasses the deterioration of post in the forum.

165  Other / Meta / Re: Mixers to be banned on: April 14, 2024, 05:55:41 PM
This is so unfortunate. I suspect that non-KYC exchanges and other custodial services will be targeted next.
That's obviously where we're going... I've observed that Theymos have made several irrevocable decisions without remorse and this, is just another one.
We, Bitcoin entirely didn't come this far just to amend the system in a way they could inject thier spywares to surreptitiously monitor people's asset. So the worst is about to happen!! Let's have it.
They don't necessarily announce that the upgrade is due to BTT but to make their system more "decentralized."
Is that a problem right now? Haaa!
166  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: How do you know which companies to trust? Help us build a product around trust on: April 14, 2024, 03:59:27 PM
Honestly, the status quo has not changed since FTX so how do we make these financial institutions accountable for their actions?
It never will... I personally know how hurt every single person out there that fell for each and every rug pull would feel. You see, it's somewhat difficult to build trust in centralize exchanges -- which is why everyone has learnt decentralization. If overtime, everyone tends to follow suit, unless otherwise, I don't think anyone would need some sort of intervention/ medication after death sort of organisation [or what did you say it was again]?
I'm not tryna discourage your motives - but if the governs have more or less done nothing ever since November 2022, then i don't know what else to believe.

Can we actually do this? Who knows but we're not sitting around hoping someone else solves it.
how??. How do you begin?

It's terrible how the whole thing ended just too soon.. enhh, but what's even more disturbing and ambiguous would be how relatively the Royce and icopress' vendetta made way coincidentally into this... Or it didn't?
those* who have convinced theymos ban mixers in the first place may think the same. And theymos already "plays on the safe side" related to mixers...
you think he didn't get some sort of low-key sanctions from the government or something? Cus a mixer is more or less one of the ways to ensure a user's privacy... how's that supposed to be disturbing? except the fact that the former would just keep making endeavours to breaking the system's pseudonymity/decentralization.
[aren't there other ways of fighting against money laundering cases]?

169  Other / Meta / Re: Option to Allow / Restrict merits on the OP Posts on: April 13, 2024, 05:20:39 PM
Reading between the lines, you seem to think Merit is scarce, so it should be preserved for "people who need it". That's the wrong approach. Merit isn't meant for "people who need it". And Merit isn't scarce, good posts are. I wouldn't like it if someone stops me from Meriting the posts I want. It's hard enough to get rid of sMerit already (and that's coming from someone who sent 49687 sMerits).
Oh C'monnn!!.... I seen this already [for like twice or so] then I keep wondering; what's your criterion for a quality post?  looks to me like the only set of writings that makes much sense to you are "technical post"...?

look, I'm not tryna be a thorn in your ass, neither am i against your judgements merit-wise....(It could have been what you thought presumably)but if you're observant, you'd realize that all through my newbie days to this day, I've always been against the usual sentiment of meriting already-made potential legendary members alone.I've achieved my ranks althrough to being a HM - I could decide to not bother about getting merited, YES! but how about them newbies?.. how well would you cycle if you had to do this all by yourself?what's the essence of having Smerit in the system?

Edit: The second point i made wasn't about you either!
That doesn't mean I support the notion on what the purpose of this topic is.
170  Other / Meta / Re: Option to Allow / Restrict merits on the OP Posts on: April 13, 2024, 12:18:38 PM
I don't think this is necessary or needed. How many times are people going to not want merit. If someone feels a post is notable then let them have the opportunity to say so with merit.
Sad that everything has retrograded overtime... I mean, you don't have to believe whatever allegations you've seen/ known about this -- maybe because there's a little to what changes you can make?...Yes, but that isn't the reality? Nahh!...[I get sick of this everyday]
If the mods didn't get enough merits or received much less than other quality members, they won't be the manager's first choice despite their forum status.
Malek, for the first time, I'd have to disagree with you... Managers prioritize recognition, merit status and post quality.... I mean, you could get screwed for not getting enough merit despite making quality post ( I am an example of what I described). That doesn't mean I support the notion on what the purpose of this topic is -- my reasons are in-between the counter-imbalance in merit circulation by the supposed most merited users (low ranking members) and the hesitation of farming up alts with the Smerit surplus blizzare.
sMerits don't decay and become useless and non-spendable. There are no time limits to the merits in your account. It's only source merits that decay if the allocation isn't completely depleted in a 1-month cycle.
Ehhhh ... Boy, why are you not part of the cycling club shit?
171  Economy / Reputation / Re: If you were a campaign manager would you select these members for campaigns? on: April 12, 2024, 09:06:44 PM
I could list dozens, probably a hundred examples for the community to analyze--but why bother?  The only opinion that matters as far as whether any shitposting moron gets into a campaign is the manager, not the rest of us who don't manage campaigns.
Definitely not for us -- but TP, don't you think it'd go a long way if we took it upon ourselves to reveal the ones we've known? [if y'all could be less sentimental and more realistic], y'all would realize that most of these accounts are managed by the companies themselves..Yikes! Nobody wants to be termed a "rebel" for not soothing up their secrets with some infinitesimal delusions [especially since most of them are active users]

During those times, just a few would believe that bitcoin will one day clutch $1,000.
The thing is - even the early developers (of Bitcoin white paper ) themselves never thought it'd go as high as it has gone so far. The validation and adoption globally has made everything even more easier... I doubt we still have people that don't know a thing about cryptocurrencies in general - like I normally say, unless a person lacks basic computer skills or they're practically apathetic towards digital science, they would eventually have a clue what it is... They might decide to not indulge innit.

One of the hardest decisions to make would probably be taunting a close relation of yours for his crimes; yet, sparing his unrighteousness would mean serving him impeccable flowers for his flaws... So therefore "if a man goes against his bounds, he must be made to face the consequences of his actions regardless "..
Sometimes, people don't learn to quit a habit unless they're being squashed through an excruciating pain and frustration...Your brother in-law must not wreck your family!
176  Other / Meta / Re: What is the policy regarding AI generated images on the forum? on: April 06, 2024, 08:16:10 AM
Honestly!.. I'm beginning to think of how awful it'll look to surf through the forum and stumble on images like -- a kid riding on a bike part made outta water melon etc (cus some dickhead would actually come up with an illustration as weird as that)...

OP, unless you wanna be distrusted and ignored by so Many,  desist from AIs
It's quite a strange analogy. Unlike dry texts created by AI, the illustrations turn out to be very colorful and rich, and I don’t think there would be problems on the forum if the OP sometimes added several pictures. This is also true when adding ordinary pictures from the Internet if they are not someone else's property, as the author directly stated somewhere.
Strange as it might look to you, that's the reality(i just had to describe the worst instances yeah)...There's definitely no problem in using images like that for illustration in here - especially since there aren't any rules of any sort... That's not even the bone of contention : if you're giving a proposal, do you not try to create an imaginary foresight of what it'll look like? ..and how well an abuser would go about with it?...[I dunno if you got my point there
177  Other / Meta / Re: Another feature should be added on Bitcointalk SuperNotifier bot. on: April 06, 2024, 07:17:55 AM
Completely against this idea, the only reason you should worry about where to post is because it will not be paid. If you only want 100% of your posts to be paid, then I think none of them should be paid. Everyone who supports this idea for this purpose is lazy and I advise them to spend more time learning instead of having their posts equal to the maximum number of paid posts.
OP is obviously not an active poster in this section...I don't even think they'd risk making any post in any unpaid section of the forum; looks like he made a post on a thread that was moved to the off-topic,altcoin etc.. and for that reason, he wasn't paid for the week...

Edit: OP's just a typical shit poster -- a type that's profoundly out  either on the B&H board or their local board... He's requesting for a bot to notify him cus he's got about 3 post moved already ...
178  Other / Meta / Re: What is the policy regarding AI generated images on the forum? on: April 06, 2024, 06:33:42 AM
Lately I've been generating images with AI on a private level and for entertainment. It has occurred to me that at some point I might add some to a post but I would like to be clear that I am not breaking any rules. In any case it would be as an addition to what I write and making clear that it is an image generated with AI.
Your subject was actually a good question, but it seems you're already trying to vindictive yourself against it - should you ever be seen posting AI generated images?... I mean, what sort of reasonable illustration can be done with an AI? Do you really think if you could end up resolving your image problems with an AI, you won't wanna also try getting away with posting from it?
We are not required to post the source of our images on this forum.   It would be a nightmare to enforce.
Honestly!.. I'm beginning to think of how awful it'll look to surf through the forum and stumble on images like -- a kid riding on a bike part made outta water melon etc (cus some dickhead would actually come up with an illustration as weird as that)...

179  Other / Meta / Re: Identifying the linked-to post in a topic (SMF patch) on: April 05, 2024, 11:07:44 PM
I will also want a more obvious marker, maybe a darker highlight that fades away after a few seconds on the page. Is this even a possibility?
There's a possibility that Gloves would put up a patch with the darker highlight, but not with an instruction that it fades away on its own after a couple of seconds; not unless you manually refresh the page -- considering the fact that the forum's time-out is way beyond your description.

I don't understand your house please if you speak in English it would be better for us Cry Wink
I wonder what he is referring to by using the word "house" in this post because it must mean something considering he used the word "married" in place of "merit".  Grin
That's exactly one of the most nauseating outcomes of relying on poor translators/AIs...so maybe he meant -- "I don't understand your language"[...]?..Most of these accounts are owned by folks who don't even know how to construct a single tense in English ( there's definitely not a problem about it) ..but isn't that why we've got the local boards?...For the reason of not knowing too much, they also tend to not have an interest in reading too much as well.

Shoot, with the internet being what it is today and bitcoin flying as high as it is, I'd think anyone with a decent amount of satoshis ought to be able to find him/herself a bride fairly easily
I can't believe I have to explain this, but I don't think he's looking for a bride Cheesy
TP's a bit slow to that. The junky is never going to get married again in here (atleast not for the second time since 22)
