Sorry, we are not releasing anything other information beyond the 2 week timeline.

Tell me why that is? Because with that statement you are saying that we have to believe you on your pretty blue eyes (do you have them Tongue?). I found it a rather strange statement, because you guys always told us what the roadmap was until the lengt of July 19th. No 2 weeks agreement like you state now.

I will tell you my prediction of Vericoin and believe me, I REALLY hope I'm wrong, but i have seen many things over the past few years.

Everyone is holding their bag of coins, not for staking, but because of the BTC conference. This conference and it's outcome is crucial for Vericoin. Why? Because there are no other plans ahead. I don't hear a thing from that PR company, Wizrig has his winter sleep, devs are strangely quiet and the coin is slowly losing it's value. In times like these any little bit of news is welcome to keep your investors happy. That's how the game must be played. If the outcome of the conference is not a good as we had hoped, then we seriously have a problem. Because people are gonna dump it asap. And you know why? You did not even have a backup plan or are not willing to share it with your stockholders. And that, my friend, is a hiccup in the endless trust we give you all.

Think about it. No FUD, no offense...just an advice.

We aren't releasing anything past then because the further away a date is, the less reliable our predictions of release are. You don't need to believe me. You can sell the coin or buy the coin. I don't control you or anybody else besides me.

I don't know if you noticed, but we missed the FIAT deadline because Moolah didn't finish when they told us they would. We don't want to do that again.

This is not a company. Investor happiness doesn't directly affect me. I'm not selling off my coins. I don't care about short term price. I don't need to wine and dine anybody and I don't need to lie to anybody's face to get them to buy the coin. They do it because they trust the team, the coin, and they believe in the goals we have. We are not a stock. If you think VeriCoin is a company or a stock, you should probably reconsider your position. We aren't here to make short term profits. We are doing what is best for the coin in the long run. We are developing. We are talking with companies and individuals about how to get VeriCoin out into the world. What traders want to do with the price isn't something we can control, and honestly, I don't care for threats about the price. We are going to the conference to learn and to discuss the coin with others. There's no grandoise announcement or plan for the convention.

You already have so much to talk about at the convention! It looks like safron-bit is out now and the clones are starting to pick up of Veri-bit.

Everytime someone uses one of those features it will be remembered the coin who did it first. You guys are already legends in the crypto community whether people give you that credit or not. In time, this will be just 1 of the first steps in many more I see you, Doug, and David seeing through.

I know you may think im annoying sometimes  Grin But I like the way you guys are learning and moving at such a fast pace. In 2 month, nothing short of astonished. Good work!

I enjoy watching from the sidelines, I too have much invested in this coin and will continue to hold as I see soo much potential down the road.  It's too bad some people don't see the big picture and realize this isn't something that is going to happen overnight.   Grin

For those who are staking...how is that working out?

I for one am getting anywhere between 4-6 interest transactions daily just from staking.  I actually generate about one new coin every day and a half on average but that is all in relation to how many you have to begin with and the network stake at the time.  So yes the staking function works beautifully and I'm holding for the long haul.

Staking is great. Getting about 3-5 coins a day.

Nice, I also have my BFL Jalapeno pointed to the pool for additional coins, wasn't good for anything else by the time I received it so not quite a paper weight yet.   Smiley

WOW...about to drop to 37k..

what da helllllll

Look at this guys post history, and nearly everyone here crying about the price gonna drop to nothing. They made it to obvious with these alias's /caugh IE

They been pumping, then bashing, then pumping... Min, VRC... and a couple other ones that a certain couple known manipulators been targetting.

Coincidence? Time and everything line up fairly well with PnD patterns. My god it just takes a minute of research to see right through these games.

Direct from his post admitting spread FUD

I already admitted spreading FUD. I already edited them out of my posts. Dont have control over those who quoted my FUD. Since I am telling you myself that those are FUD, should be pretty self-explanatory to not take them seriously. I got what I needed. It was well worth it IMO.

Your centralized services on vericoin.info are woefully insecure.

The debian 6 server running the site has not been hardened, you can login as root over ssh. There are many many more problems but I don't want to divulge too much as it could hurt a lot of people. The developer can send me a message if they want to talk about this in private.

Yea... ok. VeriBit/VeriSend are hosted on a Windows server.

They are not hosted on a windows server, that is not what I said. They are clearly hosted on debian running a legacy version of apache. I would be even more worried if they were actually on a windows server.

Edit: I'm not trying to spread FUD here, this is a very serious concern with how much money is being pumped into this economy. I'm worried about the alt-currency community more than the price of any individual coin. You can see that from my post history.

This is part of the reason I don't understand quite understand the hype around veribit.  People are saying it makes things so much easier, but does it really?  And at what cost?  The cost of security?  As far as I understand, all veribit does is exchange VRC for BTC, like any other altcoin can already do on any exchange.  Except, with veribit, we are trusting VRC's dev team to handle security on their centralized servers.  I am not saying VRC dev's are untrustworthy at all, but I do question whether they are qualified to keep these services secure.  As for me, I would far more trust services like Mintpal to securely hold and exchange my altcoins for BTC to then use and make purchases.

The VeriBit servers don't "hold" your coins for more than 5 minutes. After they receive them and get 4 confirms, they send you your BTC. So the user will never lose. If we have a security flaw (which we are getting audited right now), our pot of BTC could be lost. But I don't think that's a concern since the developer running the server works for the cloud computing division of one of the top software companies in the world... and knows his security.

Saying he works somewhere and saying he knows his security when this is obviously untrue makes me even more skeptical.

There is no reason root login should be enabled on the server, there is no reason password authentication should even be enabled. You should be logging in through keys. I shouldn't have to say this to someone who "knows their security".

Look, I don't know what to tell you. If you're actually concerned you would have PMed me. I don't have shell access to the Dreamhost server that the website is on. What I can tell you, is that the server that hosts all of the apps isn't a *nix server with root access, it's a Windows server hosted by Azure. I would be very skeptical if DreamHost left root access open on their server.

Why is it running on windows? Windows is known to have a lot of security risks, is not open source and not usually a go to choice for someone who "knows their security".

OMG, do you not know where DEV3 works or have you been under a rock since this coin has come out?  It's obviously running on Windows since he works at the biggest software company in the world where it's actually made and developed.  I would think he knows more about the inner workings than anyone else here.  Why would someone familiar with Windows and the security work with something else he is unfamiliar with?

Can anyone put together a step by step process on how to securely place your veri in the wallet and allow them to stake with out the possibility of getting them stolen?

Sorry I'm extremely paranoid when it comes to not keeping my crytpo in a paper wallet Undecided

As soon as they hit your wallet they will start staking. It will take 8 hours or more after you open your wallet to start recieving VRC depending on how many VRC you have. The more VeriCoin you have, the faster you will recieve payment.

You can encrypt your wallet with a password. Make sure you keep that very close, if you lose it, you lose your coins.

If you encrypt your wallet, you will need to unencrypt your wallet to start getting payment. To do that you put the password in and go.

You must leave your wallet open to verify the network, thus being paid interest.

Don't know when I will get to it, but I wrote down to dedicate / organize more space on the F.A.Q. for that.

You do not need to decrypt your wallet once it is encrypted, only unlock it and then it will start to receive interest.  It is only unlocked but still encrypted.
