161  Economy / Speculation / Re: How short-term market speculations can help small bitcoin holders on: May 16, 2024, 09:19:42 PM
He bought bitcoin when the price touched $60k some days ago with a capital of $600 bought bitcoin and when the market price increased to 66k just within days, he made a trade to take the profits which for him was an exciting results and excellent one at that, so I thought sharing his experience here will give us more avenue to discuss some other possibilities as he continue holding and expecting more profits.
Oh really! He made a trade to withdraw his first profit of just 57$. Bravo!

If I may ask you op, did he told you about taking the profit at this premature stage of his investment  before going ahead or he didn't? If it happens that he did and you didn't encourage him to be patient for the bigger profit ahead then you probably didn't do him any much good.

He may not know about this right now as he is excited about taking profit for now and if he continues that way with every little rise in bitcoin price then, in the long run when he gets to know the much benefit therein in holding for long, he might definitely not be happy with the decision you didn't discourage him from making today.

So unfortunate that newbie investors be taking evey little profit made at each bitcoin price rise when they ought to be buying and stacking (DCAing) for the bountiful harvest to come.
162  Economy / Gambling discussion / Does destiny has influence in the amount we can win in gamble? on: May 16, 2024, 08:53:27 PM
I was just having this thought just within myself (more of an opinion) about some comments have read in the gambling board and complains from gamblers outside the forum, that ever since they have been gambling they have never won a bet amounting to a thousand dollars for it has always been below, while some others say that no matter how much high or low amount they have constantly be using to stake in order to win millions it has never favoured them that it has only been a few thousand bucks they had been lucky to win.

But then, I also find out that there are people that will just start gambling for a short time and boom they have won a jackpot in millions when people that have been there years before them are struggling to win even thousands.

And this makes me to come to a hypothetical conclusion that in gambling each and every person is individually destiny to within the range of certain amount of win. And that if you are not destined to win the high amount you are after, you will never be able to no matter how much you use or the strategy you apply to your bets.

Not to bore us with many words... I want to ask to know about forum members opinions and views about this. Is it what it is or it's just a fallacy?
163  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What's your slices Luck that would have made you millionaire in gambling? on: May 16, 2024, 08:27:33 PM
I've come across this several times but most times I feel maybe I've enemies, fighting me not to survive in life but i noticed that it's a game of luck. First one day I predict a game earlier this week the odds were perfect for it to enter. My games were going so well i stake $1000 then total refunds it was about $10,000 i kept on praying in my mind, it was just one game for me remaining then all of a sudden i fell asleep on the process. While I wake up to check my game the last game ended me up with a cry 😭, i took the risk cause a friend of mine took the same risk now he his a millionaire because of one slice luck made him who he his today. And what I understand is that if you really want to be a millionaire through gambling, you only have to increase in your amount that you stake the higher the amount the richer you can in a minutes. I don't know for yours, what's yours?
If you carry carry out an interview asking persons that were turned millionaires through some they bet won or jackpot, almost all of them will tell you they never expected it, neither did they had to use high stakes to have been able to win such millions. But that it was all just about luck unexpectedly.

Op what you have to know is that your high stakes won't bring you wins because it's not guaranteed to, and also there's no form of spiritual powers attached to casinos that is the reason for any gamblers' loss in a bet, it's a game of fortune and it's either you get lucky that fortune smiles at you or goes against you.
164  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: May 16, 2024, 06:50:22 PM

Im not feeling surprised since allegri gave no impact to the juventus. Motta has been showing impressive performance on bologna and this makes juventus interested to recruit him as a new coach. This is also gonna help the club a lot in improving the performance from the club for the upcoming season.
Things are not even going so well for juventus under allegri. It;s time for juventus to replace its coach. Motta may be fit to the old lady. I do like the way he was managing bologna. Even thought this will be another gamble for juventus but im seeing it really worty to try.

Allegri is nothing for juventus. The club is now seeking for a new face to handle the club properly rather than the old ones. Im hoping old lady will not get another shit season like this time.
That's enough to see the old lady played inconsistently in any game. Im hoping a better improvement to happen with juventus.
When I saw this, I felt an indifferent feeling about Thiago Motta being link to this Juventus job because in as much as Juventus are showing much interest in a acquiring his service, the feeling am just having about it is just indifferent.

The indifferent feeling am having about it is that, moving to Juventus is a massive achievement for his coaching career, and it's a massive step forward, but my worry is that,  will Juventus be able to support him financially in the summer transfer window? Because it's very important that he comes into the club with his own player that he actually believed in, and will they be patient enough with him, if the results are not coming as quickly as expected? Because every coach need time to pass his message across to his players for expected results to start coming. .
165  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: May 16, 2024, 07:21:33 AM
Yeah it seems  Chelsea is having a better ending of a season looking at how they moved from 11th position to now occupying the 6th position with 60 points.  They had won straight four game, an improved performance that Chelsea is making right now only illustrates that the players have started blending and also having a good flow of communication among themselves.  I think they are going to be a team to beat next season as they will definitely be competing in the top four  which is something most of us will want to see next EPL season.
Obviously, when looking at how Chelsea football team started poorly this season, it would be hard for anyone to think that Chelsea would be finishing 6th and ahead of  Manchester united in league table, Well despite all the ugly performances this season, they won't be finishing in a very bad position at the end,  And I hope Pochettino will be able to fix up things with Chelsea come next season and bring back Chelsea to its glory we hope for.
I think the future of Chelsea is bright with Pochettino if he's patiently given the opportunity to stay for more seasons, he has managed to build the confidence of these players in the premier league just in a season and despite injuries faced by some key players of the team it didn't deter them from moving up the table.

What I will like to see Pochi do is to get a calculative and strong standing defender with experience to replace the space of Thiago Silva as he depart the club at the end of this season. They already have a fine midfielder and attacking front, all they have to do is put in more work to be in the best of form's next season.
166  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: May 15, 2024, 10:01:45 PM
Chelsea has the opportunity to get a place in the conference league but Chelsea have to wait for Newcastle to lose or draw.
Chelsea have just finish the first half of the match, and they are already winning the match. Chelsea played well in the first half of the match, even though they could only score 1 goal in the first half, and I am still expecting them to score more goals in the second half of the match. Chelsea are already ahead of Newcastle because they are currently losing to Manchester United, so Chelsea has taken over Newcastle's position on the table. If Chelsea can maintain their current goal lead and Manchester United can also beat Newcastle in today’s match, then Chelsea should be qualifying for the conference league.

And now the match has entered the 83rd minute and the score remains ahead for Chelsea, namely 0-2. And now it looks like Chelsea will be able to move up to 6th place. Because Newcastle is also 1 goal behind because the score of the Man United vs Newcastle match is 2-1. And I think Pochettino is starting to show good results at Chelsea. If, for example, Chelsea finished in 6th place, that would be quite big progress for this team. because at the end of last season Chelsea only finished in 12th place. But this season, thanks to Pochettino, it looks like Chelsea can find hope again. Even though many doubted Pochettino, we can see the results now.

A wonderful performance from Manchester united who managed to win their match today after several weeks.
Tonight Manchester united spirit was really high that they had to submerge Newcastle even to the advantage of their rival Chelsea who are at the brink of qualifying for the European league.

Honestly, Ten Hag needs to consider giving Amad  Diallo more chance as he had many times made so much impact in each game he olayed, the boy is always on fire in all games better than Anthony. I don't know if Manchester united fans has observed this too.
167  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why People Naturally Chase loses in gambling.. on: May 15, 2024, 09:06:10 PM
Chasing after loss happens as a result of the gambler failing to accept his losses, in otherwise, he or she fails or refuses to accepting being defeated. So they feel they can salvage something from not giving up at it. In consideration for me, I think this whole thing about loss chasing has a lot to do with discipline level of the gambler. So they do this not knowing until they are totally emptied with nothing more to stake with.

I guess people that go chasing for a recovery after some losses has been incurred, are gamblers that are without a deliberate bankroll limit, so they just gamble money beyond what they can afford to let go which is why they get bittered and pained thinking how can they actually walk away without trying more in getting it back.

It's proper that gamblers acknowledge the reality that losses are a related part of gamble, and it's for the good of the gambler that he/she accepts losses and walk off when it get to us (instead of chasing), just in same manner we accept wins when they happens. No gambler is immune to gamble loss.

168  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Be careful with people's money on: May 15, 2024, 12:59:53 PM
There have been many cases like that where people misuse other people's money for their own interests, for example gambling with the money in the hope that they can multiply the money and make themselves rich. Gambling using other people's money is a very stupid act, because gambling is uncertain when you win or lose, and you will most likely lose, so gambling using money you shouldn't gamble with is very risky and should be avoided.
It is not in all the cases that the people claim to have used those money for gambling that is actually the truth as they declare. Some may not have even used it to gamble, it could be that they have used it to acquire a property for themself or gave it out as loan to later get an interest profit after it's returned. Hence they claim to have used it to gamble and lost it, they assume that the case will not escalate beyond what it should if the money is said to have been used for something else profitable.

I witnessed a case in my former estate where a certain man in the estate had to use his association money that members contributed under his care to sponsor his two children to school abroad. Something he alleged to have lost the money to gambling he played within the period the money was contributed to him. It was a preliminary investigation after police was involved in the case that revealed what he actually used the money for. Humans can be very cunning.
169  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Martingale strategy is a failure if you are consistent with it on: May 15, 2024, 11:58:07 AM
I am someone that's very frugal  with exhausting money at a go, and I can say it vividly, martingale strategy in gambling is not for the low budget gamblers and maybe when we all know this we will know peace and stick to the lane that will be favourable with our budget while we tend to be consistent with it.

The few weeks I incorporated the martingale strategy for the first time into my gambling just to test how profitable it could be, I lost more than I could imagine and I concluded that it's not a strategy for a low budget gambler like me. It's a strategy that if you are not cautious with it can drive you into loss chasing without you knowing because, It's a strategy that demands you still  be consistent even under a streaks of losses...  how possible is that?

170  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: When did you realize you need to be a responsible gambler so you can continue ? on: May 14, 2024, 04:13:36 PM
Voted responsible gambler... When it's about gambling I do had this fear of losing away my money in the early times when I started gambling, this fear to lose my money instilled a wholesome attitude of a responsible gambler in me right from beginning. As time went on and reading about others negative stories about the effect of irresponsible gambling on them I just told myself that the only way for me to stay longer and enjoy my time as a gambler is to stay responsible at it by all means necessary.
171  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: May 14, 2024, 02:25:06 PM
Yes Tottenham still have hope but that their hope is almost impossible. Tottenham will have to defeat Manchester City if they are to still be consider as contender for the champions league qualification position. Manchester City is looking for a way to reclaim their lead at the top of the league tonight against Tottenham, so telling me that Manchester City will lose so that Tottenham will still have hope of qualification is nearly impossible. City cannot ruin their plans because of Tottenham. Aston Villa team should just be celebrating right now, because Manchester City is going to do the job for them tonight. Tottenham should just settle for Europa league it is the best shot for them.
Today is a very important day in the Premier League because this game might determine whether we are going to win the league or not, At this point, we have the upper hand more than Arsenal, and I trust the performance of my club. we won't want to lose any opportunity, and as we may think it's impossible, let us not underestimate them. because we might consider them weak, but when it comes to playing with us, you will see the game will change, With our full squad intact, there is nothing much to be scared of it is going to be another added point to us. i trust my club but even at that we should still focus and pay attention to every single game. am sure of victory tonight, Manchester City will never disappoint you, unlike the other clubs, especially Arsenal, who for seasons have not been able to win the primer league.
The match between Manchester City against Tottenham Hotspur is one that happens to be as though Arsenal struggle all throughout the season only for their fate to be decided by their rival neighbor, Tottenhams ' result tonight. A win for Tottenham isn't just for them to have a significant push towards having a chance to playing champions league next season but is also to usher in arsenal an opportunity to lift the premier league trophy.

The game is not like every other game of this season in the EPL, a lot of blood pressure is rising as fans impulse are racing with the suspense of what the results is going to be eventually. In as much as I join many other football fans wishing Arsenal could win the trophy, I do have doubt in Tottenham Hotspur's ability to deny Manchester City the three points tonight as Manchester City have a better performance, form and goal scoring capability than Spurs.
172  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is it proper for younger ones to gamble? on: May 14, 2024, 01:26:39 PM
It depends on the country and their legal framework concerning gambling and how the law enforcement services are in such regions as regards to under age gambling.

But in general this is the worst scenerios, because gambling addictions will always be present in such location since there is nothing like under age gambling restrictions.
Any country in the world that have gambling companies saturated all over the country both online and land based but doesn't have enacted acts prohibiting young underage persons from being allowed to gamble, there's no other words to use in describing the government of such country than saying they are the most  useless government on earth as their priority lies squarely on the profit they make through gambling taxes far above the quality of their country's next generation.

What I have noticed in my part of the world is that, despite how much the law makes provisions restricting against underage gambling, the problem is in the enforcement of these laws by the agents saddled with these responsibility.  On the other hand, another factor that increases underage gambling irrespective of the laws in that location, is the high rate of poverty.
173  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Accessing gambling sites only on desktop as a means to prevent addiction on: May 14, 2024, 12:59:51 PM
Addicted gamblers find it difficult to keep to their words and plans, the additive urge is usually beyond their control, making use of a desktop alone to gambling might not grant a solution to it, there are persons that will so use the desktop to gamble and still gamble and spend more than another who's using a mobile phone and physical casino altogether. I always emphasize so much about gamblers learning to intentionally  have self discipline with their gambling budget limit, allocated gambling time, and loss chasing etc. If they can take control of those, then whatever means they gamble through with won't be a matter of debate.
174  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Where are you hyper focus, online casinos or physical casinos on: May 13, 2024, 10:08:46 PM
Being hyper focus is not a function of whether you gambling using online casino or physical casino, it rather has to do with the money the gambler is using to play, paying that so much attention focusing energy as not to lose the money so cheaply, that's where the hyper-focus is drawn from basically.

Most users here are likely going to choose online. There may be people who still go to offline casinos today but this I think is because they have tried and enjoyed there several times. But those who haven't really been there for a while already, I think they lost the taste of going there unless they really have a lot of money to spend and are determined to have some good times with long-lost buddies.

This photo just reminds me of some weekends where I had to go gamble at my usual physical casino house all because I just want to have my gambling mixed with an undiluted fun among my partners in crime (friends). The bad aspect about having this kind of crazy friends is that you can't really know where and how to feel pained after losing all your money to the house. You'll literally be having a bitter-sweet feeling in between. Cry

175  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: When is the right time to sell on: May 13, 2024, 04:56:56 PM
I know say some people get different kind of investment goals, so some people go only sell once their investment goal is met, some people na condition or emergencies dy force their hands to sell, while some people prefer to dy take only the profit on top, some dy sell only during the bull season and some people don even vow say Dem no go touch their holdings till 5-10 years time regardless of wether the investment go dy profitable or not, so in essence of all this is please, when is the best time to sell? I know say most snr men for here go dy reason am say i surpose know this thing, but as e be so, I no just know the best time to sell,  I don list out most of the scenario wey fit make person sell, but I no know which one be the best, abeg make ona enlightened me abeg.
Yiu don don already use your hand make the your question easier for an answer because, for this bitcoin investment as I dey usually talk am, time to take profit dey subjective depending on the investor's social-economic circumstance at hand.

Like you talk am, situation go fit make person take profit prematurely, some other people na fear or impatient. But certainly, time to take profit na for bulk run when the bitcoin price don the go to a new ATH, and as it don the go to a new ATH nah you go decide when be your own ATH to withdraw and not for you to wait for the market ATH.  The truth be say no just dey greedy for excess profit.
176  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Lottery Fever. What are your range of thoughts in response to Lucky Winners? on: May 13, 2024, 04:13:22 PM
If you are reading this and you actively participate in lotteries as an regular player, these kind of lottery success stories can evoke a lot of emotions and responses. Which of these range of thoughts and feelings do you experience;
  • my time is near
  • it can't happen to me
  • I wish I could win, even if it meant lower jackpots
  • Indifferent
Honestly, I don't think have had any feeling that makes me think my time for a near win might be close after reading about another gamblers huge win story online, but I don't contend the fact that a huge win can happen to me.

Why I fight not to hold on to these sort of emotions is that they have a way of instigating an unimaginable loss to gamblers as they get carried away with those feelings.  In my few years of gambling, I have observed that the casino get packed by many unfamiliar faces after the news of huge win about one of the gamblers hits the neighborhood. And it happens that the casino get to make a bulk of profit during those periods when this kind of news spread out.

Actually this is a difficult match for Liverpool because their away matches lately have been bad, but still Liverpool is the favorite team by the bookies or some people say so, if I believe Liverpool will continue to chase points even though they don't expect the Premier League trophy anymore.

Moreover, the previous two matches were bad for Liverpool as away matches, especially now dealing with Aston Villa it will be a little troublesome for Klopp to win with his team, but I'm not so sure Aston Villa will win the worst result for this match is a draw as you said.
So sad seeing how Liverpool are ending the season with deplorable results after starting off in a grand style that sought them in the title race at the middle of the season. Luckily for them they have nothing to fight for in this game, for they are with a fine points distance ahead of Aston Villa except that they will would want to thrill their fans by procuring a draw at least in this game.

I don't normally subject my predictions to what the bookies odds says as they could be misleading, juxtaposing the two teams, common sense will say alot about which out of the two is really in need of the points in order to maintain a strong ground on their position in the top four. And that team is not Liverpool but Villa, and that's why they will be putting in a lot of work tonight giving Liverpool a feeling of hell to make sure they maintain their top four.

I see a lot of goals in this game even though I can't say for certain that Aston villa will win but am sure they are not going to lose this very home game to Liverpool.

Jeez man, that’s a lot of money. These are the type of cases that usually lead to the victim doing something stupid like committing suicide because of the shame, pressure and regrets he’ll face from his family.
A lot of money indeed but yet,  no amount of money is worth taking ones own life for. Committing suicide due to a loss of money to gamble in my opinion makes the person much more of a coward than just in the money lost. It's so unfortunately that some gamblers don't seem to know the protective power behind responsible gambling, that's why they don't  seriously to build a self-discipline gambling culture.

Quote
I just did a quick scan through the article you shared and one part caught me attention.

This is insane - losing $5 million in a single day is not something that someone that is with us sane mind would pull off.
This is one of those real life stories that should rather be taken by gamblers (both newbies and oldies) as a caveat that gamble is not an activity anyone would want to get addicted to as there's no gain getting addicted, you'll rather be at the lose end.

Furthermore, a warning that gambling can't be categorized as a source of income even to both the rich and poor gambler. As in, how does this man get to explain to his family and friends that he lost $5M in a day to gamble, this is an amount that many if us gamblers spend years trying to win accumulatively.

Am not sure I want to comment on Arsenal's performance in this first half as they are not actually doing that bad except that they started receiving the pressure towards the end of the first half which is something I do believe Mikel Artheta will do something about as they return to the second half.

Just a quick critique on Manchester united
players in the first half:

1. What better excuse can  Rasmus Højlund give for missing his foot in that chance in front of the goal post in the 5th minutes of the game. Which could have been a 1:1.

2. Casemiro showed an act of unfamiliarity with positioning on the pitch, I mean just look at that goal by Trossad could have been an offside if Casemiro  wasn't in the wrong positioning.

3. Finally, I did watch at the way Arsenal players do gather in front of their yard box so quickly when the ball is with a Manchester united player giving their opponent no space at all, but I am not seeing this kind of attitude on the pitch with the Manchester united players, which is why the ball keep crossing their 18 yard box.

Can't say it's over for the home team yet but if they continue making these mistakes Arsenal will not fail to score in more goals in their bet therefore winning them home and away this season.
180  Other / Meta / Re: Artificial Intelligence on the Forum on: May 12, 2024, 03:16:46 PM
Ordinarily, it's an act of cheating on others by using AI to generate a topic and laying claim of ownership to it. It could make those other members that are constantly driving in personal  effort into making quality posts get to feel as though their efforts is not making progress or improvement whenever they have to compare an AI generator poster posts to that of theirs which was done organically of their own effort. That's just one of many reasons I don't support the use of AI in the forum for discussions.

But if the administrators would want to absorb the use of AI in anyway, then I'll suggest a dedicated board is created for all kinds of AI generated topics no matter the category or section the topics should just be posted into that very board in as much as it's AI generated. And it won't need the poster to indicate if it's AI generated or not, just by having it there common sense will tell it's AI generated.
