161  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Don't trade in market rate when trading on: December 11, 2023, 11:46:27 AM
OP, with the experience I have had in trading, I have not actually experienced this kind of thing, so I find it difficult to understand what you are saying. You are really the cause of your loss, and that's because you saw a coin that just got listed, you placed to buy at market rate, and you ran off the exchange to relax. Wow!! It seems you are not yet familiar with the rabbit race of altcoins,  especially a newly listed coin. I have been in a situation like this before but not exactly what you discribe, and that very day, I was fully prepared to purchase the coin immediately it got listed on the exchange. Finally,  it got listed with a high price of about $10, and I bought it at that price, hoping it could pump to $15, and I would just take my profit and leave but it dipped and I sold at loss and waited to buy at the bottom.

Sorry for the loss, but that's one thing about trading. Next time you engage in this kind of trade, always be alert and monitor the price swing closely. If you feel the dip is getting dip, just close the trade and wait to buy at the bottom, but if it pumps, have a target price to take profit and exit so you don't get greedy.

Yes, OP's description is quite confusing even if I didn't use Bybit.. I used bitget to get the token when it was rising as soon as it rose to 2$5 I went off because I know how listing coins could be. Even at that, JTO rose to $54. I'm surprised by this also
162  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading advice for newbies on: December 11, 2023, 11:37:19 AM
New users within the crypto space should understand that crypto trading is different from gambling where a mere prediction can yield result. As a newbie within the crypto space kindly check the following before you go into trading.

1. Learn about the volatile market
2. Learn how to analyze chart
3. Take your time to practice demo trading before going into real trading.
4. Do not be greedy, take profit when it’s best to do that, do not hope to get the whole world at a time.

You need to understand the learning process takes long, you have to be calm and follow through the process, if you’re too interested in the profit and not the skill or you don’t have time to do so, you can opt in for copy trading where you get to copy trade from elite traders and make profit, though copy trading is not available on all exchanges just few exchanges like Bitget has it.

Good luck newbies❤️

Don't forget about fundamentals. I wrote about it here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5473619.msg63135587#msg63135587

The only thing left is greed and if we can get a way with it, it did be easy for any one
163  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are you feeling FOMO like I am? on: December 11, 2023, 11:15:45 AM
Anyone else feeling same way?

Personally, not at all mate, I always look at my BTC as a total amount of sats and I never look at the exchange rate.

So let's say I hold 0.1 BTC, I never make the translation in dollars. I like accumulating BTC so much  Tongue

I know I am not the average person because I don't view Bitcoin as an investment but as better money, so I try to hold as much as I can of this type of money.

By the way, I am not buying much BTC at the moment, because I have some real-life issues and I don't have a lot to save, but if I did, I would buy no matter what the exchange rate was. (Not a financial advice).

I understand. Even if the feeling of FOMO is not a good thing, I do not support it, buying BTC at an appropriate price could earn you way more profit than just buying it when ever you get the money to buy BTC. Let's say you bought BTC when it rose to 44k and then it fell to 30k. You would think BTC is just a waste but buying lower and keep holding as it gets higher could benefit you more than when you buy higher

Since you like buying I think using Dual Investment would be helpful
164  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: "Bitcoin investment is the key to success" on: December 11, 2023, 09:51:05 AM
Why are you regretting it? You said it yourself, you sold the BTC for a laptop — for your "essential tasks". What was your alternative? Fail your classes just so you can have more bitcoin?

Don't put too much importance on gains. Because knowledge(depending on what course you're taking and why you're taking it in the first place, I guess) can go a long long way.

A friend. This is to tell you that I appreciate this you wrote here. Honestly, it seem like I and Op faced similar issue but this has given an assurance
165  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Risk only what you can afford to lose on: December 11, 2023, 09:47:12 AM
There is no such thing as "100% safe" with hardware wallets or literally anything anyway. Everything has risk tradeoffs. All we can do is to make our coins as secure as possible, to the point that it's not 100% safe, but virtually almost impossible to break.

Correct. Finally someone is getting it. Nothing is 100% safe and we need to make our coins safe ourselves by getting the necessary information needed.

When I talked about the exchanges I use for trading and investing Bitget and Binance particularly what I checked are the Reserve ratio and protection fund to guarantee my fund safety
166  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Market warms up, what altcoins can help me rich? on: December 11, 2023, 09:30:51 AM
I read some Twitter users with big followers that cryptocurrency market is going to be bullish.
They always say the same thing every after the bear market.

Bitcoin halving will come in 2024.

Bitcoin will have a big bull run in 2024.
Halving is right and every after the halving, the bull run is anticipated but it's not giving assurance that it will also start immediately by 2024 too.

What altcoins can help me rich in 2024 and 2025?

Any idea?
I'll say only one thing, be careful of shills and meme coins that will be suggested to you.

Exactly, more over this BTC ETF hype should already give clue on what coin that would pump and which that won't. Currently, I'm just sticking more to coins that are doing well. Like the ones below $1, BGB. Did a ATH recently and I believe after halving it might do so much more
167  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Not all new Projects are bad, So take the Risk on: December 11, 2023, 08:44:50 AM
I came across a post where an advise was ditch out
for newbies like myself not to get involved in new projects,
due to the risk that follows.

But with all honestly, Some project with 3 to 7 months old have one time becomes Scam, Good  example is OKS CHAIN. The project was over 2 years old, yet end up being scam, as the CEO and other dev cart away with so much money. And abandoned the project.

My experience tells me that everything involves around crypto project, Is about risk, except for the president of them all ( Bitcoin ), The vice ( Ethereum ) and the child ( Binance ). Investing in any of these 3 gives risk free system. As they say experience is the best teacher in life.

So i strongly disagreed with the term of " do not invest in a brand new project " to be risk free. A lot of new project has yielded x50
of my investment to me most of the time, What i usually do, Once they're up, i take off with my investment and interest. This is my experiences.
And i strongly believes by doing this, Will yield high success to everyone and also helps you to minimize the risk of lossing all your funds.

Yeah I feel so. There are coins already listed on different cex which are doing but reading up their road map is something that determines whether or not if it is worth it and their community too. Just look at BGB or even INJ. All are doing well regardless of anything
168  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What do you think about Solana tokens? Are they worth it? on: December 11, 2023, 08:31:54 AM
Dear friend this is the Crypto Market and there is anything can happen. The coin just catch the attention of people by its hype. Like we can see that Binance also listed this coin in innovation zone.
If you want to invest in this coin so I will recommend make more research about this coin. About its team. How it is developing and what is the purpose of this coin. And what are the plan of this project in future.
These are some points which you should keep in mind before investing in it.

Thank you mate. Seeing Jito Network as a major contributor to the Solana ecosystem through its JitoSOL liquid staking pool, and its collection of MEV products, I think it might go a long way but what I don't know is some came in as an hype if it will really do as said
169  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you trade altcoins during the bull run or just hodl? on: December 11, 2023, 07:02:21 AM
Next year will be my first bull run and have just been thinking about what will be best to do when it finally arrives next year.

Do you plan on just holding till an amount you are happy with or is it a good idea to try and trade altcoins whilst they are pumping to earn even more?

I trade and hold. Doing both simultaneously could give you more gains. At this point using other alternative to even trade this altcoin in the bull market like smart trend would give you more profit
170  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is it advisable to invest in JITO (JTO)? on: December 11, 2023, 06:53:00 AM
JITO is the first MEV powered stake pool that allows unlocking liquidity on your staked SOL to use across DEFI while keeping self custody of your funds.

JTO is airdropping about 10% of their token supply to eligible users. While some exchanges also announced the coin listing and I'm sure that millions of dollar in liquidity will be added to DEXs and market. But Currently, JITO has 68,636 stakers in pool, 6,340,192 SOL TVL in pool and 82 Validators.

Do you think these amount of stakers and TVL are enough to have governance token airdrop? And is it advisable to invest in this coin?

Tia did airdrop and has been on fire, I'm predicting the same for Jto giving it's price positive trend atm. But DYOR... Here's an attached picture of the current 📈 rn, despite the free airdrop.

Literally, it rose to $4 and I also realised that it went as high as $54 in this exchange. Seems they listed it earlier
171  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: why people are always interested in altcoins on: December 11, 2023, 05:42:17 AM
as we know, many people suggest investing in bitcoin because the risk is not too high.
but if we look at the market there are lots of people buying altcoins, and to be honest I also like to buy altcoins but there aren't many of them, and it's still my biggest investment in bitcoin. and to be honest even though investing in altcoins is risky but I always want to buy and the reason is because of the high pumping..
I want to ask everyone what is your for buying altcoins, is the reason the same as mine?

Some could tell you altcoins are easily manipulated.. Oh well, I don't that except they have been buying shitcoins and are claiming to be alts..

For me, the reason I buy altcoin is to make profit and no, is not only Eth that is the only alt that does well. The likes of BGB, SOL, INJ etc are out there and are also giving people massive gains. So if you want to start buying alts, do well to do some research and know what you're getting into
172  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Time to be cautious: Everyone is not market expert on: December 11, 2023, 05:37:17 AM
From past few weeks whenever I open any browser or social media all I could see is some random blogs and news about Altcoins which will have massive pump and which coins I have to invest.

Folks, it's times to be more cautious than every and never go with any random prediction provided over telegram or through blogs as it's a routine that once the crypto market is trending upwards and bullrun is expected we see a lot of experts in the market via various channels like Youtube, Twitter, Telegram, Discord and WhatsApp group sharing random coins with catchy headlines like "Top 5 altcoins with 100x pump", "Whales are investing in these altcoins", "Altcoins which will go to moon", etc.

Please try to understand these are the same people who spreads fud during bear market and impersonates as experts.

Don't go with any such predictions and rather do your own research because I have seen people randomly investing into shitcoins just because it's mentioned over Twitter and the person who has tweeted has huge followers. There will be so much of deceiving as they will share some 10 coins and even if one of them prospers they will use it as upselling point.

Absolutely. I also made a post on where I get my daily insight. Here; https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5477388.msg63304985#msg63304985
The worst part in this situation you just pointed out Op is when you go to Twitter. Damn!! If you don't know what you're doing, you will be very confused about how to get the right coins
173  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoins dead? on: December 11, 2023, 05:32:49 AM
Watching the current market and the demise of ALL crypto ... is this the end for certain coins?

How do people think the likes of ETH, ADA, XRP, TRON etc will go from here?

I just checked the date and realised that this was posted when all altcoins were bleeding and were trying to recover from COVID-19 losses and black swan. Right now, I'm sure you have seen how all this has played out and how well you could have used either the Dual Investment Strategy or DCA method to get into those coins during their downtimes
174  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Top altcoin that you won't buy anymore on: December 11, 2023, 05:28:32 AM
There’s a reason why investors are avoiding other project just to have move holdings with the other coin. I’m buying ADA than to SOL because see its potential and I know they will continue to grow. Also, I’m buying XRP because I’m confident that they can finally win the case.

If you have limited budget you can’t have everything, you just need to choose what is best for you.

Aside from this, most traders also buy according to money flow. Money could flow from.Solana to Arbitrum to Avalanche.... And so on. If a trader should know that money is flowing out from a particular ecosystem to another ecosystem they won't hesitate to buy in from one to get to the other. Sometimes what I do is buy coins from different ecosystems and leave the smart portfolio bot to balance my portfolio
175  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / What do you think about Solana tokens? Are they worth it? on: December 11, 2023, 05:19:29 AM
So, from the article, https://www.bitget.com/research/articles/12560603801825
Several coins that did well this season got mentioned which I believe is kind of seem like it due to the season we are in right, and already have some like (Eth and Link), but this coin, JTO has gotten my attention not just the coin alone but the massive airdrop and some ongoing giveaways is what is attracting me to the coin. Aside from that, the features behind the project as well fascinates me. What do you guys think about this project? Do you think it will be good for a long-term holding or is it just the hype around it that is making the coin feel this important.

You know what makes me confused is that the coin came in has an airdrop, so I can't pinpoint if it is worth to be an alt or not. Unlike other coins I know they started as presale or just launched in exchanges (like Binance, Bybit and the rest) I could easily just know whether or not if this coin would yield something tangible in the long run. Because they don't have any hype, I can't say the same for JTO. What do you all think?

Edited; so you will understand my speculations
176  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: $40k Price Target Achieved on: December 05, 2023, 01:27:42 PM

On 7th June, 2023 I posted on my TradingView and even here on Bitcointalk that Bitcoin is ready for the next move i.e. to reach $40k.
And it finally happened this week. Bitcoin price is clearly at $41k and it took 168 Days or 24 weeks for the target to be achieved.

If you all are not sure about my Final Bitcoin Bull Run price target, it's $173,566 Before November, 2025. (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5463885.msg62722173#msg62722173)
Time to buy as much Bitcoin you can buy and just HODL.

 Wink
There's a time I talked about Bitcoin getting to $45k before it distributes. All then I have been using Smart Trend to get on my trade
177  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Stop Saving Your Bitcoin (and other crypto) Addresses In Exchanges And Wallets on: December 05, 2023, 01:22:21 PM
Stop Saving Your Bitcoin (and other crypto) Addresses In Exchanges And Wallets
Period. Full Stop. End Of Line.
The way you wrote it can be confusing. I later know after I read what you wrote that you are talking about not to save exchange or wallet address somewhere because the address can be changed by the exchange or wallet.

If it is custodial wallet, you are right. But if it is noncustodial wallet, it is your key and there use nothing that will change it. But not all wallets are noncustodial, some wallets are custodial.

But it is not good for anyone to use a custodial wallet, noncustodial wallet should be used.

Lol, I also felt the same because I know that the exchange I use works fine and no it hasn't shut down but yes! Is best for one to change their address once in a while to avoid things like this
178  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Dollar Cost Averaging with costavg.com include exchange fee on: November 28, 2023, 01:17:27 PM
The DCA doesn't need too much lecture or the use of software or any third party. Going the extra mile to do it is part of how to measure the weakness of people as they often depend on external things for everything. Just divide your money into say 10 equal parts and invest at some prevailing time and price of the asset. This is what any primary school pupil could do with ease.

The main goal is for an investor not to miss out on whether the price of an asset will be favourable or advantageous, such a person using the DCA will be able to average their risks of striking the asset through this approach.

Absolutely, some exchanges have designed DCA in a way that one could automatically have it buy and sell when the price rises and falls which is the Dual investment I talk about most often
179  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Hodling vs trading on: November 28, 2023, 01:13:42 PM
Quote
1. The use of wallets to store Bitcoin.
2. For both trading or hodling to be possible you must own Bitcoin. Although trading requires a minimum amount of coins, holding does not.
3. Both require you to understand how to secure your coins to avoid hacks or loss of funds.
A secure wallet is of course essential for investing in Bitcoin.
When you buy Bitcoin the first thing you need is a secure wallet where your funds will be kept safe.
Money is the most important thing you must have for trading and investing, without money you can never invest. So for holding and trading or investing you need to save money first and buy bitcoins later. Then if you have bitcoins you can hold them for a long time and profit from them in the future.
When storing your bitcoins in a secure wallet, you must store them in a hardware or software wallet. Your bitcoins will be safe when you use these wallets. Moreover, if you want to keep your funds safe, you must keep your wallet keys in a safe place so that there is no chance of being hacked.

I do both. I think both come in handy but it depends on how strategic you could make it be. I hold for a long-term future. Then trade to gain some profit. In the process of trading and maybe the market seems to be volatile I usually use Dual Investment to get it done in other not to risk it
180  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What would happen if there was only one cryptocurrency, which is Bitcoin? on: November 20, 2023, 06:24:20 PM
Something came out in my mind recently:
How would the price of Bitcoin change if there were no other cryptocurrency than Bitcoin?
Would Bitcoin develop faster without a competition?

Many people believe that if there is no alternative cryptocurrency, the price of Bitcoin will rise because it has no competition.

But, in my opinion, the price of Bitcoin is lower if it does not have a competition. Why? Because if there is no competition, the buyer's thinking is "should I buy this or not?" however if there is competition, the buyer's mind is "should I buy Bitcoin or these alts?"

As a result, not just Bitcoin but other altcoins will benefit. So, rather than being upset or sad because there is a competition, we can look at it in a positive way.

Nah.. Bitcoin has no competition. In fact, I see bitcoin has currency like saying USD and EUR have competition..other coins are for profit-making whereby we take advantage of it to make money just look at Pyth and how people are talking about it "The hype" and"The season"
