Nethash rising nicely, well over 1GH/s now. Some of that is maybe due to wolf's miner optimisations but general interest is definitely picking up.
New optimizations? Where? https://www.reddit.com/r/DRKCoin/comments/2o1yoz/rewritten_x11_binaries/I haven't tried it but I'd assume you can plug these bins into the AMD spreadminer? The whole 'optimisation' thing seems like a red herring to me, as long as everyone is getting about the same hash per hardware, all upping that does is increase everyone's power consumption... wolf has put a lot of work into this though so if you think it's of benefit to you please consider sending him a tip. This will require some work to port these changes to spreadminer, you can't just copypaste generated binary.

dev, will it work if i create a pool for my miners in a LAN network?
I'm not sure what do you mean by a pool. You can just connect all miners to the same wallet. Or run one wallet per PC but mine to the same address in all of them.

What kind of mistake? why flies? ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=http%3A%2F%2Fi62.tinypic.com%2F2jdulx.jpg&t=663&c=1NGMSxgsZwGPqg) You need 14.9 drivers.

I actually didn't expect such acclaim. Maybe compared to usual effort my work looks good but I don't think that I'm doing anything special. If people trust in my coin I should try to meet their expectations and I don't want my work to gone in vain. I hear many stories about scam devs who just make some profit and run away. I'm not following many other coins and I don't know if such behavior is widespread here but I don't want to be one of those devs.
That said, not everything went smoothly under my command. When doing hardfork I was very worried that something may went wrong, and what do you think? blockchain stalled and no new blocks were generated, this was very anxious time for me.

I am investing in SPR because of Mr. Spread and his potential to turn this into a coin SUPERIOR to Darkcoin. Mr. Spread is obviously a very talented developer. All I know is Mr. Spread sure knows what he is doing and whatever path he chooses to go with SpreadCoin I'm sure we will all benefit from it ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif) Thank you for your kind words, I am just fearing that people will think that you are my puppet accounts which I registered only to praise myself ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif) . Mr. Spread, have you made a decision as to whether you're going to implement the DRK features?
I'm still investigating it. I want to share one interesting thing about DarkCoin that I discovered. Maybe this was already observed by someone else but I found out it by myself. I think I already mentioned it, DarkCoin difficulty adjustment algorithm targets 156.25 seconds as average spacing between blocks instead of 150 seconds (2.5 minutes). I don't know if it is a bug or intended behavior. While calculating average difficulty of the last 24 blocks it counts last block twice, this results in 150*25/24=156.25 seconds. The actual average spacing between blocks in mainnet blockchain is much closer to 156 seconds than to 150 seconds. This all has nothing to do with masternodes, I just thought that someone may be interested.

Nice, I have added it to OP, website and requested coinmarketcap to add it.

So only 20 million coin supply total over all the time? How many coins will be generated in the first year?
1st year - 3.27 million 2nd year - 6 million (total) 3rd year - 8.44 million (total) 4th year - 10 million (total) Yes, there will be 20 million coins total.

Any free SpreadCoin giveaways going on lately? my mining isn't giving me anything and I've had it constantly running since I downloaded the wallet almost 2 weeks ago!! So if anyone wants to "SPREAD" the love my addy is SdpQYCKXV8MQeKE6MSCK2J5JZP8sc3bxAA and I'll gladly do small chores to help build this community stronger and stronger as long as I can get paid in SpreadCoin ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif) So let me know what I can do folks and I'll start doing it ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) Cheers There is a giveaway http://www.reddit.com/r/CryptoCurrency/comments/2knolx/spreadcoin_giveaway/ not sure if it is still active. Also there is the very slow way to get spreadcoins: http://www.multifaucet.tk/index.php?faucet=SPR

Thanks, I will look at it. Regarding DarkCoin features, good news for those who want them is that SpreadCoin is based on DarkCoin, I didn't remove DarkCoin related features from source code but disabled them. They are now outdated because they are from DarkCoin version from the time when SpreadCoin was launched. This still means that it would be easier to integrate latest version than it would be if SpreadCoin was forked from some other coin. They had some issues when introducing masternodes, this was probably fixed in latest versions, I didn't followed it very closely. I need to be 100% sure that any new features will be safe and won't compromise that level security that we already have. I will review their code and see if it can be integrated in SpreadCoin.

Mr Spread. Any thoughts on forking in Darkcoin features into this coin? "True Decentralization", anonymous, and masternodes would be pretty amazing.
With current price establishing masternodes would be very unreliable, by investing not very large amount of money you would be able to run many master nodes. To prevent this we can set necessary deposit to run masternode to very high value but this will make overall number of masternodes very small. Don't forget InstanTX.
We have fast block generation (to make solo mining easier) - 1 minute instead of 2 minutes 36 seconds in Darkcoin (yes, it is not 2 minutes 30 seconds as they claim) so speeding up transactions is of less importance for us. And InstantX requires masternodes.

Mr. Spread can you please set a more informative topic in our IRC channel? With links to site, ann thread, whitepaper, etc.
Yes, of course, will do it when I will come back home to my main PC.

Just checked my Windows wallet, mining with GPU and got a message "Not enough memory" (got 8GB) and when restarting the wallet I get message "error reading block" and the wallet doesn't start... any ideas what the problem could be and how to resolve it?
Some application is probably using all of your memory, task manager should help you to determine which one is it. SpreadCoin is not actually designed to work in out of memory condition (and I think most of today applications aren't) as a result your local copy of blockchain may have been damaged. Try to run the wallet with -reindex argument, if it doesn't help than you can simply remove blockchain from your computer, it is stored in C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\SpreadCoin. The only file that you need to keep is wallet.dat, it stores all your spreadcoins. After starting the wallet it will redownload the blockchain.

One thing I've noted though is that the 'cheating miner' code is not yet implemented?
Mr Spread would it not be wise to test/release that before it becomes necessary, if it ever does?
There is nowhere to cheat yet, existing miners can only work in solo mode. First we'll need at least some pool protocol. Also, are there any nethash analysis/distribution tools available, possible, in the pipeline?
Due to more decentralized nature it is harder to perform such analysis for SpreadCoin. You need to monitor which node will be the first to broadcast the block. For Bitcoin you can just connect to all major pools which is not a problem as they probably are running on a good servers. Since there are no pools in SpreadCoin you will need to connect to as many nodes as you can and still the fact that some node was the first to broadcast some block doesn't mean that this block was mined by this node, it may be just distributing block which was mined by node to which you are not connected. Many computers in internet are behind NAT or don't accept incoming connections for some other reasons, the only way to be connected to such nodes is if they will connect to you which may never happen. This doesn't mean that it is impossible but hashrate distribution analysis may be less reliable than in cryptocurrencies with pools. No such analysis is available yet.
