The 'supposedly' stolen coins at 1L2JsXHPMYuAa9ugvHGLwkdstCPUDemNCf have not been sold, they haven't even moved.
We dunno if they are indeed the stolen coins or not. I believe the thefts are nether stupid nor slow hands. They must have sold it already. Exactly, so where do you suppose the coins came from? there's been no large movements from Stamp other than this 18K which, for all we know, is still under stamp's control. Please read the post above starting with "But of course". I did. I think you may wish to read it again, with your sarcasm sensors turned up a bit. I know he is hinting how unbelievable this 4 steps explanation is. But with some stamp employees' (betrayers') help, it is a piece of cake for the thefts to finish step 2-4. I think it is the same bunch of people that play the roles of both bears and thefts. They sold the stolen coins to drag the prices down and then used their ambushed short position to further maximize their profits. The 3K coins sold at $300 might be the stolen coins.
I'm bearish and I didn't steal anyone's coins. There was 30k sold at $300. Not 3k. The "theft" is of 18k. So no it really doesn't add up. Good finding on my typo. Thanks. |

Mechanism is: when naked shorts exceeds certain limits, exchanges will stop withdrawal from them collectively. Now they will slowly experiment this idea and implement silently from now on.

Here's the thing, I've been a bear for the duration of 2014, but I don't think too many people are willing to sell below 275. So looks like 250 is probably the absolute bottom if it does reach there, at least for the 1st quarter of 2015.
Below $275, it would be not profitable to mine the BTC. Below $275, it is better for miners to buy and store BTC. Not to mention that the short squeeze can be lucrative for the whales. I don't think the whales are that stubborn, because profit is profit no matter it is from the bull side or the bear side. Miners will mine at whatever price since hardware costs are already sunk costs - the only limiting factor is power but some like me run solar panels on my roof and since its all paid for already upfront, my day to day power cost is basically 0. However I'm not a seller. I hodl my mined coins You are the so-called strong hands.  The gathering of guys like you will definitely change the market dynamics and squeeze the bears to death. |

Cause it's easier to follow trend than trade against it Trend can be reversed. Too many bears can still crowd a working short into a non-working one. Whales are hunting for profit but not for bear hypes. If a short squeeze is lucrative, why not start it? You saw the rally from $300 to $450 once, the whale surely has the power to repeat it. Never be 100% sure about something that is out of your control, because you are a retail not a whale. |
