Can someone tell me some predictions about the price after Bitcoin halving?
I don't think it matters much. I guess you know this, just to make it clear: Bitcoin is not halved, only the block reward. Some miners might go out of business, because the costs for mining are higher than the rewards, which will reduce mining difficulty, so the remaining miners can mine cheaper, until block reward and mining costs are the same again. But Bitcoin price might go a bit up, because there are less new Bitcoins per day. The current Bitcoin price increase might have anticipated that already, so not much change in the future.

Well devs are trying to avoid the IOUs being created by some exchanges . You see, waves officially will be traded on June 14 but if they release the wallet then some would be able to trade their waves via those IOUs exchanges eventually disrupting what can be a smooth pricing.
But they announced the mainnet for today, this makes no sense if they really want to wait for the June 14th.

Thanks, added.
5 x is a little low for waves I think.
Better safe than sorry Grin

Is the order book up to date? I'm selling 5503 waves for 10 BTC. You can send me the BTC first and I will save your waves address in the "wave address" field in my account, so that you get it when the mainnet is running (I guess the explorer would run then, too, their testnet explorer is already working), or we can use the Bitcointalk escrow suggested in the first posting here. Please don't ask for the waves ICO account, because I have already connected it to my twitter and facebook and don't want to associate with my Bitcointalk account.

If someone wants to buy my waves, I have 5503, bought for 2 BTC (including a bit bounty fees). I'll sell it for 10 BTC. You send me the BTC first and I will save your waves address in the "wave address" field in my account, so that you get it when the mainnet is running, or suggest an escrow (e.g. I would accept dooglus or other famous members here that I know, if they want to do it for a small fee). You can contact me by PM, or here in public to be more safe for both sides.
168  Economy / Digital goods / Re: selling private keys on: June 09, 2016, 09:25:43 PM
I'm interested. How many keys do you have? Please send me the public addresses by PM so that I can verify if they are useful for me. If you sign "marilyn4325" with your private keys and send me the digest so that I can verify that you own the private keys, I can send you some BTC for it first.

so wasn't planned for today the wallet release?

Atm in the progress.
Does this mean it will be earlier than planned at Poloniex or other exchanges?

First of all this website https://login.lisk.io/ is a bapp/dapp.
Second of all I do agree there should be a bapp/dapp listed with the Lisk store/marketplace.
Can you explain this in more detail? I thought a dapp is something that runs on the blockchain. On login.lisk.io runs a nginx proxy, probably in front of a normal Lisk node, because the screen looks the same when you start a local Lisk.io node and open http://localhost:8000. I don't think this is one of the blockchain apps.

172  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin the future of online gambling? on: June 08, 2016, 01:17:21 PM
What do you think of coins which allow gambling without a website, like Lisk or Ethereum, implemented as a blockchain app? Problem is that it is slower than usual gambling sites (some people at dice sites throw the dice many times a second), but it can have all the well kown features like provably fair etc.

Hi lisk community!

FYI – I’m currently working with two guys as a solid team, in the development of an astonishing blockchain application that will make Lisk platform even more valuable in medium-term scenario. We haven’t any doubt about it.

The official statement of the project can be read from the link below:

You want votes, but the only thing you tell about your app is the name? Sure Grin

https://blog.wavesplatform.com/be-careful-possible-scam-97a33d235f58

Maybe I am totally out there...but for those saying that there isnt even one Dapp built for Lisk, you are incorrect.

https://blog.lisk.io/lisk-s-first-decentralized-application-arrives-bd933919004#.3zre2phpw

It was posted awhile ago Wink

Lisk Guestbook Dapp...Simple but a great starting template for more complex dapps for those who dev..

That's awesome! :O

I'll update it and see if I can deploy it to the mainnet. I think it shows the potential of Lisk quite good. Smiley

This would be nice. At the moment there is no App on the mainnet (or I can't find it), which is really bad for a coin which was announced as "for JavaScript Developers". Will it possible to launch the App from the lisk.io online wallet then?
176  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][LSK] Lisk | Blockchain Application Platform for JavaScript Developers on: June 07, 2016, 04:42:52 PM
How is the dapp development going? Haven't heard it for a while....

I don't know but have you created one yet?  The platform is open for you to try it out.
Have you tried it? Someone told me it doesn't work, only on the testnet and only if you do some manual patches in the source code. Prove is that I can't find any app in the mainnet, or I'm too dumb to find it. And see for example this 28 days old bug report, still open: https://github.com/LiskHQ/lisk/issues/110 Now that they have some money, they should really hire competent programmers and get shit done.
177  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][LSK] Lisk | Blockchain Application Platform for JavaScript Developers on: June 05, 2016, 11:34:57 AM
The developers strive everyday to make the platform more stable and recognized.
Wait until incredible blockchain applications arise.
This would be cool. At the moment there is no app on the main net, not even a simple "Hello World" (or I can't find it), and looks like even on the testnet it is difficult to develop your own apps because of all the bugs. And one of the main features of this coin are blockchain apps Huh

And please fix the broken links on the lisk.io page. If you click on lisk.io, then "documentation" and "Lisk Apps Documentation" it links to ...apps..., but the actual page is ...dapps...

http://wavesplatform.com/#daTeam
180  Other / Archival / Re: Hash as seed for a Guessing game on: May 12, 2016, 06:14:00 AM
An different attack occurs to me.  They could join a mining pool and would get credit for their hashes.  However, they could still throw away the winning block, if they didn't actually win.
I don't see how this attack could work. It is very unlikely that a miner finds a valid block. And for a number guessing game, there are lots of possible numbers. So if you throw away a valid block that didn't win your guessed number, the probability to win the number guessing are only increased by a very very small percentage, multiplied with the prize, lower than the pool reward.

Same would be true if someone has enough computing power to solo solve a block. If the random number seed uses the hash of the block, it will be very random. So the block solver can only throw away blocks that are not resulting in winning the guessing game. If you have lots of computing power, you could probably find one block per day. But throwing that away will only increase the probability to win the number guessing game by a small fraction, depending on your lottery investment. Assuming it is some kind of a lottery where you can buy lottery tickets, you would need to buy half of all tickets to have a higher chance to win by throwing away blocks.

I can't do the exact math, but probably the lottery reward can be much higher than 25 BTC until it makes sense for miners to try to cheat and throw away blocks.
