Great news everyone, Moneypot has incorporated!
This is awesome! And even better news (at least for me,  ) -- my main account magically started working after the last update to the site! Lobos said something about database cleaning mebbe acct. stats for u were needin fix. It wasn't stats, though... basically if I logged into my main account, the site would non-stop time out on me. All other MP sites worked flawlessly. If I logged into an alt account, I could access BB with no problems. Swapping between the two would result in main not working, alt working. But now it's working so I'm going to hope it stays that way, lol. It should, database performance for certain queries was improved more than 10-fold. I'll keep an eye on it though and we still have some more cleanup/migration jobs to run. |

And we're back!!! OK, we've been working all night on getting our database server back to normal speed. After having our server crunch through data for 6+ hours, phase 1 of this process has now completed. We're not quite done yet so for now you may notice the following: - Highest Wins bets tab is showing different data - Most Unlikely Wins bets tab is showing different data and is not quite complete - If you're a user who has not logged in a while, the "My Bets" tab may show less than 30 bets; in extreme cases it may even be empty. Rest assured, we have a copy of all the old data and this data will be preserved, but we need to migrate it to new tables and improve the logic used to lookup this data. The code to do this is almost ready but we have to run a transformation job which (according to our current estimates) will run about 10 - 12 hours. This data migration will happen over the course of the day tomorrow but should not affect site operations. One thing you should notice is that the time from loading the HTML page to the point where the site is actually operational has decreased significantly; it had degraded to taking between 5-15 seconds; it now loads in about 1 second. Also, some other operations which rely on heavy database queries should be noticeable faster now. We're sorry for the interruption but the size of our database had made this downtime necessary. The new architecture which is in place now should be scalable enough to handle all traffic for the foreseeable future. Nice I tried to visit the sit yesterday but got interrupted by a image telling its down and some work is being done. The image shown was funny We try to maintain a sense of humor even during tough times.  |

Yeh, the animation should be faster, especially with a lot of pins.
I'll see if I can make the animation speed configurable. However, as soon as you click "Let it Drop", you already made the bet. So if it's too slow with too many bets, you can just refresh the browser (F5) and you can start betting again The results will be in "My bets" (of the bets that were still in the animation.) Yeah, this is an unfortunate problem we can't really avoid. Your bet is placed the very instant you click on "Let it drop", the animation is really just there to give the entire process some (visual) excitement. There are ways around this but they would really complicate the code and not be 100% foolproof without adding even more complex code. I'm a big fan of KISS (Keep it Simple, Stupid) and would like to keep our system as KISS-friendly as possible because this typically results in performant and stable code. BTW, all the improvements (except one) you suggested when you added your verifyer to your site are done. Full update on this coming shortly. Thanks a lot for your suggestions (Hartelijk Bedankt ) |

Whats wrong with betterbets? Seems like I can't connect to it. And I check on Moneypot and my internet connection everything is fine so I think this is betterbets problem here. Is there anything wrong with this?
Read the three posts before yours... we already talked about this, :p. And it's already been reported. Yeah, we had (for some reason) an endlessly spinning Apache process. I've killed & restarted apache and now things work again. Things will still be slow for another 15-20 minutes because of DB reorganization job which is currently running. Got ya. Will try again shortly (just tried and keep getting errors saying "payout array is invalid." Speed should be back to normal now. I just tried Plinko and it seems to work fine. If you have any other issues, please report them here. |

I had requested this when it first came out. IIRC they have it on the to-do list. Yeah, it's on the todo list, we've been sidetracked here a little. BTW, when you say plinko-bot, do you mean a bot which only allows you to set the number of discs/balls you want to launch or something more complex. The more you tell me what you want, the easier for me it becomes to think about implementing such a beast. Thanks. |

Added your site to http://dicesites.com for stats and also made a BetterBets provably fair verifier While making this verifier I noticed a few things:
1) What is "Client Seed Sequence"? It seems to be not used at all.
2) Could you show the "server secret" (which is MP's roll) on the bet detail popup? Obviously used for verifying the rolls, and it's not very convenient to let the players go to 2 sites to copy the data.
3) IMO, you should generate a random client seed before every bet in the browser. If a player bets with the same client seed every time, in theory MoneyPot could give "next server seeds" based on their betting pattern. So if a player is betting high every time, they would give low numbers based on the same repeated client seed. I am not accusing MoneyPot of this AT ALL, RHavar seems a trustworthy person to me, but provably fair is all about not needing to trust the site owner.
4) AFAIK you should allow the client seed to be a number in the range of 0 and 2^32-1. However you are saving it now a signed INT which has a limit of 2^31-1. You should make it unsigned so the player can put the full range of numbers as client seed. In theory again MP could influence the outcomes with the information that the client seed will always be limited/low.
5) It is possible to directly link to my verifier with: a link like this (ss = salt, ssh = server seed, sr = secret, cr = client seed) There are several sites that do link to my verifiers, which make it easier for the players to verify their bets, but it's obv up to you Just a quick heads up: working on implementing these suggestions. ETA is tomorrow. |

Cashback Club and affiliate pay for Sunday August, 2nd has now been credited, I apologize for the delay this week due to maintenance. Next Sundays payments will resume as normal (due to recent events cashback took a reduction this Sunday only), unless you are a player who gains Silver VIP or higher then you will earn the bonus BTC as well (large amounts of BTC). Here's a screenshot I took prior to the site going down:  What you'll see there is that it claims the payment would be for 877.32 bits (which would be higher since this was before site was down for the fixes). Actual amount credited was 111.00 bits. The confusion comes because it says "This Week's Payment," which doesn't appear to coincide with the actual payment amounts. Correct, the table needs to be fixed I have a ticket for the bug submitted to have it fixed, what you received was from a rollover (from previous weeks affiliate) which is why it was larger than the actual volume your affiliates made this past week. Our database is correct but that table is not, shouldn't be long before that is resolved entirely, sorry for that Ranlo OK, I think I fixed this one. At least as much as is fixable right now. Let me explain: 1) The weekly payout for each user (in this popup window) was incorrectly calculated. This should now be fixed. 2) One other problem I discovered is: the reason that the "Total Betting Volume" column displays 0 even though payouts have been performed, is that the column holding this info was defined as an integer when in fact it should have been defined as a float/double. So, we can not display correct info for this column right now but we can write a script which digs through our bets table and recalculates this field. Once we do this, this field should also show a correct value. Give us a day or two to take care of this and all should be good. |
