161  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The psychology of betting..... on: June 20, 2023, 03:22:23 PM
Your view of gambling as chilled-out leisure paints an alluring picture but not without risks. Things get messy when the initial excitement of risk-taking turns into a fixation. Saying that only a few gamblers can stay in control is a big understatement. Many studies reveal that most people can't recognize when they've shifted from a good time to an addiction. Their brains link the thrill of the gamble with happiness, complicating quitting. Though gambling for fun with self-restraint seems feasible, it overlooks the potential destruction of addiction. It's essential to highlight that for many, gambling isn't a simple toss-up between enjoyment and gain. It's a psychological trap causing deep financial and emotional issues.
Very well said, that's how human psychology is, we start doing something only to have some fun for only a small period of time, but as time goes on, we start increasing that time instead of leaving that thing, and when we keep going and increasing the time or the resources we spend in case of gambling it is money, we don't really realize what we are getting ourselves into until a time comes where we have already reached so far that it is almost impossible for us to return.

The same thing happens when we start gambling, we don't want to get addicted or gamble for addiction, and most of us might just gamble for fun initially, but as we get deeper into it, we start increasing our stakes, the money that we spend later will be way higher than what we have started with, and slowly, we get addicted to gambling.
162  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gamblers understood the game on: June 20, 2023, 06:25:33 AM
And I guess there it is the difference between the gambling addict and the profitable gambler. The profitable one sets limitations for their maximum losses and their limit wins. They understood the game in a way that they accept that not everyday is a winning day. It is not trying your own luck but CREATING your own LUCK. And when you have those days, you push it, you bet more. When there are days that your predictions are likely to be wrong, then the main focus is to preserve the capital.
Well, there is a marked difference between the two so we can choose which one we prefer. But many people will want to be a profitable gambler but it's not easy because they don't know when their luck will come. But how can we create our own luck when we cannot always win at gambling and we have also seen many people who have experienced loss. It's better for us not to force ourselves to create luck because luck only comes to the right person and at the right time.
I think it's pretty obvious that all we choose to be a profitable gambler over the addicted gambler. Many are successful with it but they never expected that winning in gambling can turn them into addicts because they are greedy to earn some more. As a result, the money that they win will just lose and they will also lose their personal money and everything (jewelries, appliances, house, friends and families).

This is the reason why never wants to become an addicted gambler. So before we dream of being a profitable gambler, we should think about the consequences first. Some just prevent being a gambler because like they say, prevention is better than cure.
163  Economy / Speculation / Re: The low support level may still be tested during 2023. on: June 20, 2023, 04:25:53 AM
Bitcoin can hit prices below $20k again but hopefully, people won't be shocked and panicked, especially since the price is now dropping again. The test for Bitcoin may be even tougher than before because if the decline persists, some people may not be ready to see it.

And market conditions are now more difficult to predict and coupled with the government tightening the movement of crypto, it can limit the movement of crypto and get people in trouble.

We must be aware of the current situation and prepare a budget to buy Bitcoin at low prices so that we can use this moment to accumulate more Bitcoins. And don't panic if we see the price drop and hold on to Bitcoin and buy it again because that is a good opportunity to buy again.
If the dump unexpectedly occurs like tomorrow let say, then people are going to be shocked because they believe that the price is getting stable and is continuing to the bullish state but Don't worry because being shocked is only just an impression. They can still think normally and will probably hold on or buy more coins.

The natural market conditions were supposed to be easy to predict, if only there are no news that can unexpectedly occur. Each bitcoiners are fully aware about the situation of BTC. Maybe some will start buying now that the price is still lower than last time or some will choose to hold for a while and will wait for better opportunities to come.
164  Economy / Gambling / Re: is KYC data on Gambling sites safe? on: June 19, 2023, 04:33:10 PM
Decentralized casinos, which operate on blockchain technology, sometimes offer an alternative to traditional casinos by providing more anonymity and removing the need for KYC but obviously they are not entirely foolproof either. As with any online activity, there are inherent risks so using the reputate sites, checking in the forum... those are required.
Generally decentralized casinos do ask for KYC data. If the need arises such as for big withdrawal or if they are suspecting any un usual activities then they ask for KYC. You cannot guarantee that your data is secure in a reputed casino. Data leaks may happen and sometimes they might not delete your data after closure of your account. There is risk but if you are gambling you are always at a risk. I do not think KYC data can be such a big issue for a gambler.
Decentralized platforms are not regulated, registered or licensed, so there hasn't been any instance so far where a decentralized casino asked its gamblers to complete KYC verification because the money that is being bet on games isn't going to them and then coming back to the gamblers because everything is done on-chain through smart contracts, so they don't need to check anything at all and that is what they do.

Though authorities have signaled that they might start regulating decentralized platforms too in the future, and if that happens and they are forced to register themselves and operate under a license, they will surely ask gamblers for KYC verification after that.
165  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Categories of Unrealistic Sports Betting Expectations on: June 18, 2023, 04:21:10 PM
The first category is composed of sports bettors with a $1000 bankroll who hope to make $100,000 by the end of the year. In what universe do they think this is possible? Such expectations are unrealistic and only occur in the lottery, not in sports betting. Even in sports betting, it would be a chance occurrence, happening only once in every 100 bets. A more realistic expectation would be to aim for increasing their bankroll.

The second category consists of individuals seeking guaranteed wins and fixed bets or matches. These individuals are frequently seen on platforms such as Twitter, Telegram, Discord, and others where sports betting is discussed. They are often the first to express their desire for guaranteed games and fixed matches/bets, believing they will surely win. Unfortunately, these individuals are easily scammed due to scammers taking advantage of their gullibility.

What other categories of unrealistic sports betting expectations have you encountered?
Actually, the first one is possible but only if someone has god-level accuracy where they won't get a single loss and they keep placing bets with everything they manage to win from their last match, but that is very unlikely to happen because one can basically keep winning all their bets until they reach $100,000 from just $1,000, so though it is possible but the probabilities of it happening are very low.

Those who go after guaranteed wins are mostly going to lose because there is basically no guaranteed win in sports betting as anything can happen and sometimes, even the favorite team loses against the team that is always losing and isn't performing so well at that particular period.
166  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2022/23 on: June 18, 2023, 10:20:18 AM
~snip~

Now that's all done and Mbappe isn't going anywhere either and what Madrid have to do is still have to find a really good striker this time around because a substitute for Benzema with just Brahim Diaz won't be enough.
I got news in the local media. Real Madrid are interested in Joselu, he is a Spanish forward. Despite being 33 years old, maybe he can be a short-term solution, before Madrid get another attacker. He is not bad, in the 2022/2023 season, Joselu is able to score 17 goals from 38 games in all competitions with Espanyol. Madrid seem to have reached a personal agreement with the player Joselu. Although this is just a rumor.
33 years old Spanish and Espanyol striker who score winner against Italy in semifinal of the Nations Cup now Real Madrid player on loan with buying option available but most chances Real Madrid will not buy him at this age, and he will stay here on loan after having reduction in his salary as well all announcements will be on media in coming days, but all is settled already about this deal. But still Real Madrid journey for the another striker is going on because they want to do all concerns fix before start of the next season as losing Karim Benzema which was main star and match winner for them but now suddenly he leaves club for the Saudi League.

This is right now third signing for the Real Madrid with they are still had few more players under their radar for this season as now competition is tough.
167  Economy / Economics / Re: Getting an MBA before starting a company or directly starting a company? on: June 17, 2023, 03:00:15 PM
I don't think we should have to discredit the current education/college system as a whole or to even generalize it. Some educational background truly helps them to build the foundation of the theoretical subject, on another hand, I do apprehend there might be some subjects that did not fulfil the students' needs in a work environment.

Having an MBA degree is absolutely not a prerequisite to starting a business. A prominent figure like Musk is also widely known to discourage that degree. In the end, business success involves many variables and factors, and the owner's degree is surely not significant in most scenarios.
It actually depends on every individual and their mindset whether a degree will be needed for them or not for running a certain business no matter what the business is. Some people actually learn the things necessary to run a business from their elders who are already running businesses and these kinds of people don't need a degree to run a business successfully because they already know the rules and regulations.

There are some people who know nothing about how things work and how a business can be run if they don't get formal education about it, such people will surely need to get a certain degree to be able to run a business successfully as they lack the basic abilities to do that.

Quote from: Velvet78
If we don't see Mbappe joining Real Madrid this summer then I wonder who they will bring to the centre-forward position in the starting lineup. Maybe they have Rodrygo as well but he isn't actually a striker. The best formula would be to create a new trio in the attacking line with Vinicius Junior, Rodrygo and a striker that they can transfer soon.
.
Real Madrid have many potential strikers they wish to sign into the team this season, but the amount of money involve to sign all those players is too high but the management will try their possible best to sign one of them to fill the position of Karim Benzema. If Real Madrid miss mbappe in this summer they will not miss  Harry Kane because those two players carry potential skills which Real Madrid will benefit from in the future, if they can use any amount of money to bring one of them into the team. I believe Real Madrid have some players they can put on sale to get this money to sign talented players that will make the team function well next season and more season to come.
Currently, there are only two best possible targets for the Real Madrid with they are looking for the Mbappé but in case of having no positive signal they will go for the Harry Kane which is also currently refused by Tottenham management even in coming days we will have the good number of strikers available in market but Real Madrid mean best in business which is never been easy.

Carlos Ancelotti also have Gabriel Jesus and Richarlison in this radar as well but no green signal for these both as after exit of Karim Benzema situation is not good in the Real Madrid camp even they have few young talented players in their squad, but they are not going to take any chance which create problems for them after end of transfer window.
169  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How Big is the online gambling industry today? on: June 17, 2023, 08:04:24 AM
it's true that notifications that we often find disturbing appear almost every day and even notifications on my cellphone for online gambling promotions can appear several times a day.

If this happens to every smartphone user, it is likely that even ordinary people will casually occasionally open online gambling site notifications and they might register and continue to play online gambling.
as we know that gambling in the view of most people is a bad thing and if in the past gambling was carried out in certain places. Meanwhile, for now, everyone can be free to play gambling without being known by anyone other than him and the gambling admin and they can play without having to consider bad things from the view of some people.

With this convenience, it is possible to make the online gambling industry very large. Because you don't need to come to a certain place to play gambling, you only need to visit online gambling sites to play gambling, so that online gambling sites are able to reach all lines of urban and rural communities and both young and old. Which makes the online gambling industry even bigger.
The convenience it provides is exactly why online gambling industry has grown so rapidly over the last few years triggered by covid-19 and the pandemic it caused. People switched from land-based casinos to online casinos because they were not allowed to gamble at land-based casinos since it is a public place and they were all closed down during the pandemic. People obviously found online gambling to be way more convenient than land-based casinos.

And on top of that, cryptocurrency gambling platforms have served like an icing on the cake by providing even more convenient options for deposits and withdrawals by reducing the time, speed, and cost of transactions for the gamblers who used to use traditional online casinos using fiat.
170  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: How do you decide on a buy price target? on: June 17, 2023, 07:26:25 AM
No target to have is might better because they accept buy continuously and they Usually, when we set a target buying price,we are making sure that it is the best price and we ignore the fact that it is not going to be easy. There is optimism and it's a good thing. I think this is also the reason on why we are rising.at last we are running in race like that we think it.
No matter how you feel about technical analysis, you cannot ignore the fact that there is a level of support and resistance. Accordingly, you should make your purchases from the support level. And if you also use DCA, you will get an excellent average coin price.
Both technical analysis and support and resistance levels can be good indicators but we can also not ignore the fact that real world events can always make things go ways we never expect, so it is obviously better if we also keep an eye for that and buy accordingly, if we are uncertain about the changes to come but the price is pretty good, we should simply start doing DCA right at that time.

Someone who does DCA with coins that they want to purchase and keep until the bear market will actually be the one who wouldn't miss any dips and at the end, they will have a very good average buying price for each token they've been buying with DCA method.

This sort of qualifier round tells the story of how badly ICC operates in general and is not interested in spreading the game.

All of them or at least 6 teams should've been qualified for the WC but only 2 teams will move into main groups. Ideally, every team should've played the qualifiers.
Sadly in last few years we have no good administrator who love this game and bring good change for the improvement of this game and also have good strategy which helps this game for having the good number of participants which is surely not good right now we have few countries which are capable of having quality teams and mostly others are lacking of experience and funds which are not helping them for increasing quality and performance now they are reducing participants in world cup which is also not positive thing with going for the Olympics is also not sure from this all I understand we are still living 2 or 3 decades behind this current time and have no positive chances in coming years as well even we have good interest in this game from many African and Asian countries which is good for the game.
172  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: High gas fee for sending token is still a problem on: June 16, 2023, 03:14:09 PM
You are more interested in altcoins and you only know how to use the ecosystem on ETH Smiley , maybe you should look at the problem a bit more when we can easily find other solutions with the system. eco has lower fees. I'm thinking if you're FOMOing shitcoins or memes on that system, if that's true then you also need to understand the risk and return you need to accept for your behavior. With the overall return from investing in altcoins I think there are many ecosystems in this space that provide a pleasant experience so you really do your research, dumps from BNB, AVA, DOT, MATIC, SOL,... lots of places to look.
Altcoins had some different functionalities from Bitcoin, no wonder why many people are hooked on them. We can't blame him if he only knew ETH. He might be one of the pioneers in crypto because ETH was among the first altcoin to be introduced to have a smart contract functionality. If he is a die-hard fan of it, I know that he is also aware about the problems of it and that is why he is here complaining about the gas fee.

There are solutions for it. One is like you said eco but I think this was rarely used compared to others so maybe they are much better than it? Shitcoin are risky but also very rewarding. It's up to us if we take the risk and pay more for the fee but there were also shitcoin in other networks. The risk on them is much lesser.
173  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How Big is the online gambling industry today? on: June 16, 2023, 08:29:01 AM
For the average person, depending on gambling for a living can never be successful except for people who have luck or can analyze the game of sports betting. And now the gambling industry has grown very rapidly, especially online casinos, where it can remove the boundaries where we can gamble and use fiat or crypto.

And after the pandemic is completely gone, the online gambling industry can further develop and traditional gambling can be reopened. This allows people who used to gamble in traditional casinos to visit the casino and feel the atmosphere again.
The pandemic has been long gone and casinos and other public places have been open for more than a year already, but when we talk about casinos, pandemic caused online casinos to become way too much popular than they were before it, and that is the reason why the online gambling industry has grown so rapidly only within a few years because every single gambler out there who used to gamble in land-based casinos turned to online casinos due to pandemic.

And now, even after the physical casinos are open for public, a very large amount of their customers will probably prefer gambling online for the convenience it provides, especially if they are using cryptocurrency gambling platforms which are even easier and more convenient than fiat-based online casinos.
174  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Europa League 2022/23 Season on: June 16, 2023, 05:19:15 AM
Towards the end of the season we saw how they improved in their performance by taking over the third position from Newcastle. We also saw how they performed in the FA cup finals against their rival Man City. The players are back to their fitness and I believe that next season will be a better season for Man United and they will be very dangerous in their matches. Injury was what messed up their performance in Europa, because they start the League with an impressive performance. We hope to see how United will perform in UCL next season and on their domestic league.
It's very good news for the fans as we have good improvement in few teams after many years which is going to create good competitive fight for the title in next season even still need few things to fix but as they perform in all competitions it's good sign there were hopes about their win into Europa Cup but champions Sevilla thrashed them badly in away game, but now we will have improved side with few new signings surely going to improve quality and performance for the next season.

With this all now who is going to compete in this competition it's not predictable because mostly big teams try to stay in Champions League or fight for the domestic title but if we have good time again surely many surprises will be happening again in next season and winner could be again best with strong winning mentality.
175  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: SEC lawsuit caused massive market crash on: June 15, 2023, 04:45:15 PM
The SEC lawsuit against Binance has caused a major market crash, especially hitting BNB hard. It's worrying, and the future of BNB looks uncertain unless a solution is found. It remains to be seen if governments will have the upper hand in the crypto world.
The lawsuit definitely showed its effect on the market since Bitcoin and every cryptocurrency started dropping right after the news started spreading across different social media platforms and online news portals. As you mentioned some tokens are affected more than others including BNB which has faced significant drops since SEC has announced that they will take Binance to court.

There are also some other bad news circulating in the industry which are causing the market to crash as well but because they are not as big as Binance and Coinbase being sued for some of their services. However, we will soon recover from that too.
176  Economy / Gambling / Re: Blackjack.fun |20% RAKEBACK TO ALL|SLOTS|SPORTS BETTING|70% RAKEBACK RUSH HOUR on: June 15, 2023, 03:55:16 PM
Never noticed the unit change, Hasn't it always been USDT? I think I actually stopped paying attention to those ever since the rewards became bonus money. Now I just play and check my bonus wallet from time to time. Actually waiting for $100 to expire in a few hours so I can wager for the smaller bonuses Smiley

Same strategy as always Coin_trader. Blackjack on semi martingale plus loads and loads of Roulette Smiley

I do play aggressively for wager indeed. $9 per spin on roulette, sometimes this goes up $15-$18, depending. On BJ I play small bets many times, when I count 20-30 hands no BJ, I start aggressive up and up martingale style hehe
I do not wager that much to be fair, I like to keep it on the minimum and just try to gamble as much as I can, my aim is not to make money but to spend as many hours here as I can when I have the time.

Obviously that's not everyday, so it is not going to be easy but I do feel like it would be great if I could end up with a great return.

In the end, we are going to end up with a good return when the time comes but I just like to gamble as much as possible. That allows me to not only grow my wagering, but also I am spending hours here having fun so that's a great thing.

At this point, it is not even having "fun" to be honest like old days, it is more like while a show on netflix open on tv, I take my phone and spend hours here while "watching" something lol, very sad and boring world but I am thankful for blackjack.fun for helping me fill it at least.
177  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Turkish Super League 2022/23 Season on: June 15, 2023, 03:08:50 PM
I don't think Edin Džeko will have a 2-year contract. Because he is very old.
There is a very high probability of going from Turkey to Arabia for retirement, because they offer very high salaries to European players.
Most chances this contract will exist for the next 2 years because both parties are in talk and most of the things are already settled with just announcement is coming from both sides in next few days even he is 37 years old but very strong and fit player by his body.

He already has few offers from the Saudi League as well which are not considered because Edin Dzeko wants to stay here in European Leagues even now after end of these two years contract how things will go not clear because it's depend on his body and health if he will be able to play then maybe he also tries to go in Saudi league for the one or two seasons after completing his contract here in Turkey.
178  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: June 15, 2023, 11:06:04 AM
If Mane plays better and if Bayern find a good striker to replace Lewandowski, Bayern Munich will become a stronger club in a new season and they will dominate Bundesliga again. Their chance in Champions League will not be small because in a new season, many big clubs will be in transition phases like Real Madrid.
When talking about Mane, his performance is declining so that it is very influential in a team game because even one player's mistake can have a significant impact.
To be able to replace Lewandowski, at least Bayern have to spend a larger amount of money and this is an obstacle for several teams that cannot make transfers properly.
But I agree with you that if Bayern had better substitutes it is possible that they could do in the Champions League.
Sadio Mané is surely on decline after having exit from Liverpool with Bayern Munich is not suitable place for him just because of this now Bayern Munich management looking for new striker which keep things in better shape which is important for them after end of this bad season even they won Bundesliga, but their performance is on decline which is surely matter of concern for them.

There were rumors about few players which are under their radar with possibly Sadio Mané is also going back to England but how things will take turn in coming days is not confirmed because now Bayern Munich is also looking for better end with good results in Champions League which are not happening for the last few years.
179  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: An Intriguing article: How to Perfect Your Gambling Strategy on: June 14, 2023, 08:32:16 PM
Various strategies can be used if it makes the game more entertaining for us, but, yes, we must know that it's not a scientific method we are using, so, we shouldn't expect a positive outcome. I, for one, prefer betting with a low probability of winning, and if I lose I'm not frustrated about that, I know it was very likely to lose if the win chance was 0.1%, right? And if I win, it really gives me that great feeling of being so lucky. Mathematically, this strategy is no better than betting with 90% win chance all the time, but I just choose what suits me, what makes my gambling experience more enjoyable, that's all.
I totally agree with that, we all know, and if we don't, we should, that there is absolutely no strategy in gambling that can actually always make us win and let us recover our losses, you might be able to do it once or twice using a strategy but that won't continue and if you are destined to lose, you will lose eventually even if you are using a strategy that people refer to as to be the most effective one.

So gamblers should only use strategies of their own that they think are good for their game and that makes them enjoy their gambling sessions because, at the end of the day, that is what's important, at least for most of us.
180  Economy / Economics / Re: Could there be a new financial system not dependent on USD? on: June 14, 2023, 07:44:11 PM
Yes it is possible for a new financial system to emerge that is not dependent on the USD. There are already efforts underway to create alternative currencies and payment systems that are not tied to any particular national currency. One example of this is the rise of crypto currencies such as Bitcoin, which operate independently of any any government or central bank. While they are still relatively new and untested, crypto currencies have the potential to offer a more decentralized and secure financial system that is not subject to the whims of any particular government or institution. While USD currently dominates the global financial system, there are many potential alternatives that could merge in the coming years.
Do you really think that governments around the world will allow a cryptocurrency like Bitcoin which is totally decentralized to take over the economy and become the main financial system? That will mean that they will have no access at all to their people's finances and financial activities, and everyone will be free to do whatever they want whenever they want with their money without having to prove anything to anyone.

They will never accept that, they won't let Bitcoin be the next financial system to replace fiat, banks will be out of business, politicians who are superior right now and ruling over everyone won't have this much power and governments and authorities won't have any access to everyone's privacy.
