161  Economy / Auctions / Re: BFL 30GH/s Little Single on Ebay (ending in 30 minutes!) on: January 29, 2014, 12:52:15 AM
Dude, theres machines coming out in minimum 500ghz - 2TH.

Why would someone pay $1,000.. for another $1,000 can get at least 500ghz..

Because you are replying to a thread that is 30 days old.  And GHZ?  LOL

15 BTC for all 5 would be crazy.

15 for 1?  Are you drunk?  Blissfully unaware of the alternatives?  Trolling?  A victim of recent head trauma?

He states "15 BTC per unit".

We all know that plenty of users on these forums buy into these preorders dreaming of all the money they will make by flipping them and then forget that things change, other players enter the market, etc.  JOKES ON THEM because this guy legitimately thinks these things are worth 15BTC *starting* price.  A quick check of eBay (which consistently is around 2x forum market price) shows $5.5-6.5K is more realistic for 400GH if you sold there.

On the forums?  Well ANTMINER is 200GH for 1.9BTC shipped last week (soon to drop more I am sure once CNY ends) as we all know this puts these sellers in a big pickle as we dash their dreams and they realize "breaking even" is now the goal to shoot for   Wink  BUT BUT BUT BJ uses less power they might argue, who cares that's what a 10% premium not 800%!

As for realistic offers:  I'll do 4.2BTC (1.9*2*0.10) which calculates in that 10% premium I mentioned, and not a satoshi more!

163  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTB] 65NM BFL ASIC Hardware on: January 29, 2014, 12:12:51 AM

So are these for sale?
How many of each?
Shipping included?

WTB = Want To Buy
164  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: ASIC hardware manufacturers INFO please on: January 28, 2014, 08:09:17 PM
If you want something that is SHIPPING and so you are not in the back of the line for a preorder that is still months away then ANTMINER is the stuff to buy hands down.

When comparing anything consider this:

Take any given X preorder, add 1-4months to estimated shipping time.  Run some calcs.  (remember KnC is regarded as the only company to deliver "on time" and they were over 30 days late)

Now take the same investment, calculate buying ANTMiners shipped today (1.9BTC per 200GH, probably less after CNY) and you will very quickly see what the real deal is...

The problem is with the network growing 20-30% every 12 days hashing power is worth much more NOW rather than 2-3 months from now.  Makes it worth spending 2-4x more to get it in hand immediately...

Just my $0.02 of course!
165  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: Selling BFL 230 Gh/s miner (received on 1/22/2014 IN HAND - NOT PRE-ORDER) on: January 28, 2014, 07:08:39 PM

I'm asking for 6.25BTC (base on coinbase) - FREE SHIPPING

Have more question or want to make an offer please email me at bitcoindude80 [at] gmail.com

You will never get above 2 bitcoins for this thing, let alone the 6.25 your asking.  Antminers, although currently out of stock, can be bought through secondary sources for a fraction of your asking price.

Btw, your pictures prove nothing besides that you had an empty box laying around.  Post pictures of the actual unit, with a time stamp, and your username written on a piece of paper.

If you do not want to post a picture of the unit opened up (I do understand that feeling) then I will offer 1.7 Btc shipped to 66221 payable once I receive the unit and make sure it works.

Edit: Just went to BFL website, and they are selling for about $4200 straight from them, which is about 5.5 btc, why are you charging more than the original purchase price?

If someone is out of touch on price points, I`d just look for another deal.

Well he did say "make me an offer" ...

This would probably fetch around $3K on eBay which has the highest prices of any ASIC market, but is worth less than half that on these forums... (1.9 BTC 200GH ANTMINERS shipped from CHINA all day long, and this guy wants over 6?!?!   lol)
166  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Antminer S1 open for sale again] The last round before the Chinese New Year on: January 28, 2014, 05:44:16 PM
I am not pleased with the delivery of sub-optimal units direct from BitMain.  My sushi units were always "new" out of box, including that fresh electronic smell and none of my previous 6 had the extremely excessive paste issue.

However, the two units I received today, the 27th after ordering on the 21st, are below expectations and sadly a blow to my confidence in further buys.  They were double boxed and taped (unlike the single box from the Sushi GBuys).

FYI I ordered from both Sushi and Bitmain on this last order push "for science".  My last 3 orders arriving back-to-back different days were Sushi-Bitmain-Sushi and the very last unit (Sushi) arrived exactly as you describe - double boxed with too much goop, no serial number on the blades, the fan doesn't seem to start on its own and takes an unplug/replug to get moving.  Bitmain and Sushi also use the exact same UPS shipping account.  So I am sure these were just the very last units out the door before they shut down, and probably just pulled them off their "in use" shelf instead of building new ones...

In one of the early group buys I had a severely punctured cardboard box on one and another unit came with NO FOAM insert in the packing - just a loose ant in a box! (worked but with a fan-rattle and has the most jacked-up frame of my ANT collection)...

Definitely sub-par.  But you know what?  She mines just fine, all my ANTs mine just fine, I'm still a happy camper!
167  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: What would you do if you had mined 500 BTC in 2011 and still have it on: January 28, 2014, 09:52:31 AM
50% held for future use and speculation.
50% converted to fiat to buy scryptcoin mining rigs.

With scrypt ASICs already here basically?

I would buy 13 ANTMinerss for 25BTC and get 2.6TH.

Take the profit you can make burning 5KW of scrypt video card power and compare that to this example of 5KW of ANTMiners.  SHA-256 ASICS win hands down!

169  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Announcing NEW 3TH/s and 5TH/s 20nm Bitcoin Miners on: January 28, 2014, 09:22:56 AM
LOL Can someone please TL;DR for the rest of us

TL;DR without the conspiracy theories:

So this scammer creates a pretty good looking site.  Claims to have 3TH and 5TH right around the corner.  Two forum members that are fast guns took the bait, and conversed with a slick conman(woman?) that convinced them this was a real deal, despite SCAM calls at the getgo from many forum members.

Even after showing pictures of the claimed physical addresses which look nothing like a tech company or fab, it didn't sink in for these poor two.  Until that is someone looked up the DNS history for the website and found a historical IP address was associated with a known bitcoin scam site.  Con seems to have been going on for a while, the new attention gained by posting this thread on the forum is revealing lots of interesting tidbits of info.  Tracking the BTC transactions, the scammers mixed over $100K in coins but it looks like some of those coins bought ANTMINERs (currently shipping ASICs) from a popular groupbuy ran by forum member Sushi so that could be a lead.

Stay tuned!
170  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: HashFast BabyJet users thread on: January 27, 2014, 08:22:53 PM
The RPi is a toy and a piece of shit. Why anyone would run thousands of dollars worth of equipment off it is beyond me. Toss it and connect your devices to a real PC or laptop.
+1  Cool

This. I have 5 of them that I've been using to run my other miners (BFL and BitBurners) and they are notoriously unreliable. Every once in a while the SD cards will die necessitating a rebuild of the whole image. And the USB ports are the worst. Even with a powered hub they aren't able to drive my bitburners anymore and I ended up having to buy a tiny computer and putting Linux on it.

Wow all this hate for the RPi, not sure but they just work for me?  I use the MinePeon distro and get months of uptime no problem with my BFL & BitBurner Fury stacks.  Maybe I got lucky with good SD cards?  Maybe the MinePeon distro is configured to write less data to "disk" and extends the life?  I dunno.

But compared to spending $200-500 on a Mac Mini or using an old laptop and having to manage a huge spiderweb of USB hubs off the back and multiple cgminer configs I think I'll stick with my RPi's thank you very much (note I NEVER use usb hubs).  One dies?  I have a spare.  SD card were to die?  I have an image I can just reload on a new one and go.  And I get to build fun little cases for them out of the old box of legos I have laying around Wink
171  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: CoinTerra announces its first ASIC - Hash-Rate greater than 500 GH/s on: January 27, 2014, 08:02:50 PM
Fail on both watts + hash rate.

You might as well just ordered some antminer/bitfury and started mining 3 months ago, by the time the difficulty gets to the level where watt/gh difference would matter materially between cointerra and the 55nm, the boxes will be all obsolete anyway. And you would mined a lot more bitcoins with the 55nm if started 3 months ago, instead giving cointerra a 0% interest loan while they did the dog and pony show.

YEP.  This is 100% correct.

When 1.6GH of ANTMINERS take 3.2KW and 1.6GH of Cointerra takes 2.1KW you begin the realize the whole 28nm vs 55nm debate is next to pointless.  The cost of the box and its useful life makes worrying about the relative power draw the least of the problems.  To be fair the cost for ANTMiners was quite a bit higher in the beginning, but the last couple weeks it was only 15.2BTC (~$12K) for 1.6GH of ANTS which could already be mining TODAY.

172  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] 14 x ~200GH/s BTMine Avalon clones *IN HAND* $14/GH ($2,100 - $3,150) on: January 27, 2014, 10:53:36 AM
Do the clones pull more power than the original?  930w 200/GH

My BTMINE Avalon does right at 900W for 215GH.  YMMV.

The problem with shipping these is the module's heatsink is too heavy for the length of screw they installed, and thus a lot of the time the modules break free in shipping and bang around the case!

I would like to think we should be able to get longer screws and fix that problem, but either way these things just don't ship well...
173  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: 5 2TH Cointerra Miners in Early January Batch over night shipping. 110 BTC on: January 27, 2014, 12:15:03 AM
So by now we know the power draw for cointerra is around 2KW for 1.6TH (maybe 1.7).

Bitmain ANTMINERS would draw around 3.2KW for the same hashing power (8 ANTS), and cost 15.2 BTC TODAY for 1.6TH.

So the price has to be much less than what I can get hashing powered delivered today.

This isn't even a DEC batch?  So how many difficulty changes before this ships?  That would determine the price for me...
174  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: 2 BTC/Each - OFFICIAL BITMAIN NORTH AMERICAN DISTRIBUTOR NINJATECH.ORG on: January 26, 2014, 10:06:18 PM
are sales closed?  i looked yesterday on ninjatech and it said you there were well over 100 left in stock. now the site has no miners listed.  i would like to get 2 more but was waiting for my coins

With CNY upon us even if you did order now they wouldn't ship for a couple weeks...

175  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: 12 (2 T/hash) early Jan CoinTerra order. on: January 26, 2014, 09:05:33 AM
Do you still have any of these units available for sale? I'm keen to get one.

I have not sold any of them. I also do not have them yet. I should get them in 2 weeks or less.

Once they are in hand I will update this thread and sell them.

I'm not sure of the price because we don't know the difficulty or the price of BTC.

Thx

Goat -

So by now we know the power draw for cointerra is around 2KW for 1.6TH (maybe 1.7).

ANTs would draw around 3.2KW for the same hashing power (8 ANTS), and cost 15.2 BTC today for 1.6TH.

At $800 coins that is a little over $12K to get the same power in ANTs today.  Are you still asking $30K?  Sorry just trying to judge the ballpark figures here!

BITMAIN price is 1.9BTC.
177  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: Black Arrow 2TH - November 20th Pre-Order - Juding interest. NOT selling... YET. on: January 26, 2014, 08:15:08 AM
i would pay based on antminer's price + some premium since it has enclosure and consumes less power. i'd value it at 20 btc as of current difficulty and if shipping was on schedule.

Contemplating selling my pre-order of my Prospero X-3. Trying to see what people will value these at, and whether it'll be better for me to hold onto it or sell this bad boy. Would clearly use escrow, and have Black Arrow facilitate the order transfer themselves if I did decide to sell.

If I choose to sell it, I'll open a different thread, but for now... what would you all be willing to pay for this bad boy?

2TH of ANTMINERS was 19BTC shipped out this last week.

No way in heck you can convince me 20BTC would be reasonable for a box that at earliest will show up in MARCH if somehow the stars align.

Remember even KnC was over a month late and they have been considered the only preorder company to actually deliver "on time".  Hashfast was originally supposed to ship at the same time as KnC and we've just now seen the first of their boxes 4 months later?  WOW.

OP honestly your best bet is to put it on eBay (where the suckers are) NOW ...

Just remember this - the people that made the most money with Avalon Batch 2/3 were those that sold the PREORDERs on eBay for $40K.  By the time the systems shipped they were just worth a fraction of that and Batch 3 customers who mined with their boxes lost BTC...

As for what I would pay?

Well I did buy 3TH of ANTS   Wink  But for a BA first-day preorder it would have to be 20% over cost (coins held in escrow), deal voided if shipping goes over two difficulty changes from the original estimated shipping date.  So thats like what 9-10BTC?  And might as well void that now as FEB 24th ship date for working hardware is impossible with a chip that hasn't even taped out yet!  But that is the beauty of it, eBay won't allow presales that go over 30 days out, so you are basically within guidelines.  Just have to keep the buyer informed to not really expect it that soon so they don't chargeback (see :  https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=426425.20 )

@NinjaTech.org team -- Please, allow an option during checkout for "Saturday Delivery Stickers".  My package is going to be in my city saturday around 1am, but UPS refuses to allow pickup/delivery until the expected delivery date of Jan 27th... because it was not sent with a Saturday Delivery Sticker.    Cry   See More:  http://www.ups.com/content/us/en/resources/ship/packaging/docs/labels.html#Saturday+Delivery+Sticker

Did yours ship direct from China?  Ninja is just the middleman.  He has no control over the shipping as all the UPS ANTs from China are shipped from BITMAIN directly no matter if you bought from Bitmain, Sushi, or Ninja.

Just be glad they aren't shipping DHL.  I had a UPS ANT and a BTMine DHL ship same day, and DHL took 3 days longer in transit!

For the record I too have a UPS ANT to arrive on Monday due to the same situation you are in...

Wow 70 Pages... this thread is getting crazy!

So mine came all beat up also.  One module was "loose" and almost cut the ribbon cable - PICS:

At least I just was able to tape it and move on... ends up I have all good chips except for 5 disabled ones (one of the 16 miner counts shows half the hashes).  Better than a zero!  This thing pulls right at 900W at the wall with two Corsair TX650 supplies - over 2X an ANT!  But I still get ~215 GH or so...
