A survey by an Irish company has found that one in six bitcoin users worldwide lose money to hackers and exchange shutdowns. The study by the Bitcoin Marketing Team surveyed 770 digital currency users from 68 countries and found that thousands of euros worth of bitcoins are lost or stolen through hackers or with users losing access to their online wallets, according to the Irish Independent. Jamie McCormick, the coordinator of the survey, said that while individuals stated that they like the freedom of bitcoin, negative feelings still circulate the digital currency. This was highlighted in hacks, exchange shutdowns, and technical issues. https://www.cryptocoinsnews.com/90249-2/Interesting title as if you are not looking closely and just scan it looks like it suggests bitcoin users lose money to hackers because it is a male dominated market.

Good news, they go back and forth with illegal vs legal so this must mean they are moving forward with legitimizing it in Russia.

Check out GEOCOIN
Yes Geocoin already has this feature but it's not about pokemon, I read a lot of bad things about pokemon how you could endanger yourself and others chasing pokemon and this would be coin could do the same to it;s players.. GEOCOIN is ahead of the times then because they are already working on geocashing.

Hi, I am unable to login to yobit. Is something going on sitewide or is this my account only?

this accident teaches every bitcoin users that he should never store. funds in any exchange even if they have very high reputation. your bitcoin will be safe only if you are controlling them in your secure wallet
Exactly. What Bitfinex showed us is that we should not store large amounts of funds on ANY exchange, no matter how good the reputation. I am not perfect in this aspect as I currently have a bit of bits all over the place.

Oh my! What exchange is hack free at this point? I hope everyone recovers their funds and I hope that BTC rolls through this, it most likely will.

VERY VERY cool! Nice work, I am grabbing a copy soon, this is much needed info for web devs.

Absolutely. This would be one of those "bringing crypto to the masses" situation. So many people are addicted to that and imagine if somehow bitcoin was integrated.
|
|

Yes and Yes you are stealing. This kind of situation gives Bitcoin a bad name and karma will always catch up. It is not yours.

There's only one answer to this question.
It depends on the laws in your local jurisdiction. You should check your local laws first.
There are always regional differences in laws. Example: You can legally smoke cannabis in Colorado but you can't smoke it in a public place legally.
Best answer. Agree, just check your local jurisdiction.

These kind of articles just show how desperate Bitcoin related news sites are as there is nothing else to write about. This drop was hanging in the air for quite some time now. You could basically smell it from miles ago if you have some trading skills.
Agree. I can sense the desperation with this one. As if we have not seen $30 fluctuations...that is nothing!

hmmm. Not sure it was needed. The reason we are in to bitcoin is getting away from fees fees fees, everywhere are fees!

Good news. He is a big supporter of Bitcoin and I am always interested in hearing what he has to say about it.

No project has made it till the scam accusations start piling up. I guess STEEM has made it! haha exactly. It seems for a crypto to be legit these days it needs to be: 1. Hacked/DDOS 2. Relentlessly called a scam.

Patience. It will probably head that direction this fall. Halvings have proved to not be the moon shot everyone thinks they will be. This is a sign of stability. The more stable bitcoin is the more newcomers will come on board.

I am surprised to see it so low. Seems like it was 54 satoshis just a few months ago. What is going on with this coin? It is an oldy but goodie

Paper wallets are universally regarded as the most secure way to store bitcoin Piper makes creating paper wallets as easy as pressing a button If you invest in bitcoin ... it could be a lifesaver. It could be a great help for everyonne who use to bitcoin I need to do this just to practice at least. I know it is something that I should do, just always put it off due to it being a bit complicated. Good references here in this thread.

Not good. I hope everyone can get their funds back. Not good press for bitcoin.

Interesting thought but I doubt it. I think it will be full steam ahead until Fall. It would be incredible if we could buy bitcoin for 350.00 again though!
|
|
|
I think it could easily reach a 500,000.00 market cap by this fall if not sooner. A lot of excitement around it and people are making money..well crypto! Is this not what we all want, a platform or app that brings newcomers to bitcoin and crypto?
