You can only kick the can down the road until there's nowhere left to kick it. Then you've got a long hike home.
That's the problem. People don't like the real solutions because they hurt in the short term, so they vote for people that kick the can down the road. The thing is, the further you kick the can, the more it's going to hurt to implement solutions.

Start of the end?
It was the start of the end a long time ago. The main issue being that the various strategies (if you can call them that) implemented by the western nations to combat their fiscal problems are almost all short-term bandages that actually hurt the economy in the long-run. Not to mention that most of them are completely ignoring certain detrimental practices (such as the big boner most governments seem to have for printing as much money as they can as fast as they can).

You're fucking stupid.
You are so ridiculously naive, it's pathetic.
I understand we aren't going to solve the on-going debate between collectivism and individualism in this thread, or push understanding of the difference between society and government. However, it is enjoyable to debate the details and refine our understanding, until it resorts to this. To sum it up, we have several fine thinkers in this thread. And then this one... Pretty much I never understood people that spend more time insulting the person they are responding to than actually progressing the argument.

The whole idea of social security appalls me. The idea that they take some of our money to save it for us. And in reality they just go and dip into those funds to spend at will. It's stupid.
The only difference between social security and a ponzi scheme is that a ponzi scheme is voluntary.

Government is almost universally inept and inefficient in everything it does.
I'll take that over a system which is fueled solely by the immediate desires of those who don't understand or acknowledge the long term effects. You just described the u.s. federal government

How is this different from other tangible currencies?
Either way, if you know the right people/organization you can put a bounty on someones head.

Dear God, five hours? Talk about dedication.
EDIT: My bad, six hours. Much respect.

I think what's cool about cryptocurrencies with regard to Ron Paul, is that he got his wish for Americans to have the access to "competing currencies" without the US federal government taking any major action to make that come true. Hopefully, he will thank Satoshi, the Ripplers, and the worldwide Bitcoin community for that some day. I've always wondered why he doesn't speak more about cryptocurrencies. Despite what most of the U.S. thinks, it is entirely possible to get things done without the governments help. But I would also note, that the government has been brutal to people printing alternative currencies in the past. So I should think as bitcoin gets more and more popular, the government will likely take large-scale action against it eventually.

From each
My main problem from your quote is how this part is done. That's the trick ain't it?

They should let him practice shooting from that position non-stop during team practices.

Of course Romney won by a wide margin in the end. The point of this video is to show how the powers that be (however you define them) can utilize both media corruption and voter fraud to suppress candidates they don't like.

The ratio of RP to Romney signs I saw in my travels was around 20:1.
Same here, I saw wayyy more Ron Paul signs than any other candidate (including Obama).

My only experience would come from watching "house of cards" from netflix.

Tax does help people. I was able to not die from hunger while I was unemployed Realistically only small fractions of our taxes go to things like unemployment. Additionally, higher taxes means paycheck-to-paycheck lifestyles become more common, which in turn means people have less to donate to charity or give to the poor. It also means they have less money to spend on 'extra' things that could get the unemployed employed. Besides, inefficiency, corruption, over-bureaucratic perspectives, and a general unwillingness to change with the times are rampant in our government. I would rather take my chance on people than give in to government control which I know will fail.
