161  Other / Politics & Society / Former Central Banker Speaks Out!!!!!!!! on: December 10, 2012, 06:44:12 AM
The former european central banker and author of "New Money for a New World" Bernard Lietaer, speaks about the flaws in the current monetary system.  And the possible future outcomes of the monetary system. Its very interesting.

here is my favorite interview where he talks about the internet a little https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LJdwYGI-9Tc&feature=g-hist

i've followed Daniel from future money trends for about 4 years now.. he is a smart guy who understands the financal ponzi we live under. he is a good addition to the bitcoin community.

166  Economy / Economics / Re: Billionaires hate Bitcoin. on: November 29, 2012, 04:41:53 AM
i sent an article to my close minded millionaire brother in law about bitcoin. he only responded with negative comments. "too much theory" "i dont see the value in it". he wasnt happy to talk about it and didnt understand it, at all.

i brought it up to another millionaire (soon to be billionaire) that i know, 2 times. This guy understands how the world financial ponzi works and is very awake. he understands the basics of bitcoin, but i dont think he spent much time thinking about it. In a brief discussion we had, he said "it wont work because the usd is still the reserve currency. So even if other countrys adopt btc it wont matter because everything is priced in usd." he likes gold and silver for the future. also he said when "btc starts to pick up speed the us government will clamp down on it one way or another."

most of these rich fuckers are older guys who dont understand technology like us on this forum. they know best how to sell, ideas, themselves and they know how to manipulate people. bitcoin threatens to undermine their pile of government cash, and even the whole political structure their money on.

we cant let these rich fuckers hold back society and civilization.
167  Economy / Speculation / Re: Gold collapsing. Bitcoin UP. on: November 21, 2012, 12:36:03 AM
for now is silver good invest?

long term i believe because of the industrial uses. it will keep pace with inflation and we should see a spike when the paper ponzi ends. hold physical dont let somebody sell you paper silver. people have already been frauded out of paper claims in the billions of dollars (mf global).

but silver is cheap to mine so dont let people tell you its going to $500 per oz. anytime soon.

silver and btc ftw
168  Economy / Speculation / Re: Gold collapsing. Bitcoin UP. on: November 20, 2012, 01:22:22 AM
It's easier to grasp an idea when you already have the building blocks.
yes, but this is America.  WE are the building blocks of the world.  or is it the blockheads of the world?

Forget the blocks, I think it's gone schizophrenic Undecided

Doesn't matter - this is all the world needs.

Update:
This might be virtual Armaggedon -
http://finance.yahoo.com/news/threat-spectacular-cyberattack-looms-official-185505164.html

propaganda like this really piss me off!!!!! it makes me so furious!!
please go flame rosenbach's here
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lgAQC1PGDlE

bitcoin > gold for the coming age (minus any Armageddon scenarios)  but....
it has some minor problems holding it back.
we have many years before the propagandized baby boomers are out of the way. they believe the crap rosenbach spews oout of his pie hole.

also we have the older gens that aren't tech savvy.
I went to my local pawnshop today to show the owner a casacius. he couldnt comprehend it. all he could say is "i dont even know how to turn on a computer". and he understands the paper ponzi we live in is a big fraud.

we wont see gold collapse, but we will see a continued bullish trend for btc as the older gen's gold meme slowly fade away, the younger gen will embrace btc for its future convenience. even though they dont understand they political advantages. like now kids just wanna swipe their card and go.

i'm going out on a limb here.
i really dont think government legislation will be the biggest hurdle because......businesses are already embracing btc: big pharma, wordpress.com, and others i dont know about (minus finance industry). governemt today is really just an extension of power business interest's. business will take advantage of the tax safe haven btc offers and lobby to keep it a safe haven.

I think the biggest hurdle is another greater technology that will challenge btc.
face it the gold meme will fade over the coming decades, like it has before.    i own physical gold btw.

there are still many old geezers with wealth that will be hesitant to accept change. like my dad... he is scared of it, cuz he doesnt understand it. its gonna take some time for people to see the value and accept it.

but its happening now people are accepting it...
the 6month and 1year chart of btc look healthy. if we continue this trend btc will be 20 dollars + this time next year.

Security features

Disney Dollars are created with anti-counterfeiting features such as microprinting, and hard to scan/copy reflective ink and imprinting on the front and back of the bill. In addition the bills are printed with serial numbers and letters which are unique to each bill. The Dollars have small bits of glitter scattered on them.

lol. it has glitter scattered on them... oh its legit now

the only people that i personaly know that see the value of btc are the people who understand the fraud thats going on. the value will increase as more people understand and learn the world we live in.
173  Economy / Speculation / Re: Gold collapsing. Bitcoin UP. on: November 16, 2012, 01:28:53 AM

+ 1 for selling gold for btc
174  Economy / Speculation / Re: The Great Silk Road Crash of 20** ...? on: November 16, 2012, 01:19:24 AM
I did an independant study of gateway drugs that lead to heroin use. There is the tendancy to make the connection that marijuana users are more likely to use heroin based on the fact that ~85% of heroin users had used marijuana prior to trying heroin, a staggering number! However, our research showed an even more powerful influence; As it turns out, ~97% of heroin users had previously enjoyed Coca-cola products. How did the original study overlook this fact? It was shocking, and changed the way we looked at drug abusers. Coca-cola is the biggest known gateway drug currently, and I would advise anyone without the willpower to resist, to stop enjoying this beverage entirely before you enter the downward spiral that is hardcore drug abuse. You have been warned.

ah, thanks. I always use potatoes instead of coca-cola. Your version is much better! thanks, will use!

Except you would need to normalize it against the entire population.  When you do that, the 97% Coca-cola usage is not as large of a deviation from the norm as the 85% marijuana usage.

That said, the idea that marijuana use leads to heroin is absurd.  What you really need to look at is how many marijuana users begin using heroin.  However, because of its legal status it is next to impossible to properly study the population of marijuana users.

MJ can definitely be a gateway drug -- I am living proof of that -- But heroin and PCP are the only classical recreational drugs I have not tried (yet), and honestly I don't see myself trying them any time soon.  Take it for whatever it's worth.

mj is a gateway drug cuz its associated with the hard drugs.

This is part of the impetus behind better education for young people (teaching them alternatives such as the Austrian School) and more socialization in general.  Getting to know each other better, so that the transactions between us become of a higher quality.  Conversing honestly, responsibly, diplomatically and logically correct.  Using our words and language (this awesome forum for communications we know as the interwebs... Is THIS really true???  consider this:  Only 20 years ago, when we answered our phones, most of the time we had NO CLUE who was going to be on the other end.  Now:  We have electronic forums, catered and specialized to whatever interest we fancy to google up, and instant access to highly knowledgeable people that we converse with just as the person sitting next to me on the couch, yet we have no clue who each other is.  We have no clue who we are, STILL, but we are learning and even creating who we are) --
One method boiling down to sales tactics:  A good salesperson has to know the customer well enough to know precisely their demands; the more detail, the more chance of a sale.  And the product is you, and me; well, our labor and products/services. But this time, our products/services will NECESSARILY HAVE TO BE what WE personally choose for ourselves -- this will be the only way to be compatible with the coming new aeon (or whatever - there's huge change coming; if you can't smell it, you have no nose).
Bottom line:  Decentralization and individual direct ownership and management of our own labor, labor that we choose based on our preferences and not imposed upon us by external pressures to pay ever-increasing interest on loans just for basic amenities of life... That decentralization and individual ownership is imminent, and it will be a direct product of technology that will by that time be past the point of no return, and NOT any political agenda and certainly no religious / national decree or government legislation.  The change will be worldwide and profoundly personal, in the sense that when we prepare for our work, when we get ourselves pumped/stoked/psyched for our day, there will be a personal process of introspection that will be absolutely fundamental to successful sales of an individual's product of his/her/its chosen profession.  <-- This, as opposed to the grim depersonalization involved in the pumping/stoking/psyching process most of us are familiar with, just to cater to something would not have chosen had it not been for those imposed artificial externalities.
We will finally be free to be ourselves.  Hell, we ARE.  What a ramble.

nice ramble...i  bet you are a salesman.. lol ...but i kinda see a future like this as well. i'm optimistic and see great things for our civilization through all sorts of p2p technologys. its exciting watching these p2p technology's take on the status quo...
1st in line was the copyright cartell... aka, movie and music industry (crushed... only a supposed 10-20% decline in file shareing after it was criminalized but now vastly increasing in numbers)
now bitcoin is taking on the leaching financal and banking powers
whats next? p2p voting and law making to take down the mafia like corporate backed police state government... it only took 4 days to count the votes in Florda....

i believe many people will be financially liberated with bitcoin

176  Economy / Economics / Re: What if USD collapses and they issue new currency. on: November 12, 2012, 01:17:48 AM
history is littered full of currency crisis. the average age of a currency is 30-40 years. people always resort to whatever is stable at the time of collapse.
will bitcoin be stable?
177  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin major fail - doesn't allow credit creation (aka deflationary currency) on: November 12, 2012, 01:13:37 AM

178  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: GUIminer solo-mining quick request on: November 08, 2012, 02:09:45 AM
lol sorry i just was wondering cuz im getting into mining. I want to tinker with it as much as i can before i spend any money on it. is my solution correct? is it a problem with the router not allowing access?
179  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: GUIminer solo-mining quick request on: November 08, 2012, 12:15:04 AM
I started up the Guiminer in solo and it has been running. In the bottom corner it still says Shares 0 accepted. In the other corner it says 32.2 Mhash/s. On the summary page it says  accepted 0(0) stale 0(0)

Is it even working? At least with a pool it looked like something is happening. I know I don't have a chance with a solo at 32.2 but its better then playing the lotto. Assuming its doing work.

i think this has something to do with the router not letting you through. i'm having the same problem.
