I am curious as to why my miner will stop receiving blocks. Is this a problem on deepbit's end or mine? I am relatively new to mining so to best describe what I am talking about is that my miner (POCLBM) will go from the normal 400 m/h a sec to 0.300 after a few shares.
Yes, I received reports about this problem, but I need your help to find out the cause. I suspect that it's some kind of bug that was introduced in poclbm/guiminer recently.

Can you please try either cgminer or some other miner not based on poclbm/guuiminer just to check if the problem will persist or not ?

I am not using hotmail. Can a confirmation email be resent for my account? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I don't know your account name, but you can always request the message again by changing the address.
You can also PM me here to check it.

Hi Tycho, I appreciate all you've done with deepbit, the quick payouts are great, the only reason I've stopped using it is the long polling errors that would prevent it from running overnight. Is there a solution to that?
Thanks for your feedback.

I received some reports about miner "freezing", but don't know the exact reason yet. In two cases it turned out to be caused by GPU overheating (somehow it didn't happened with other miners), but I noticed that it only happens with GUIminer.

Can you please check if same thing happens with cgminer or something else not based on poclbm ?

"Challenge accepted"!

0.0001 BTC clearing fee per 1 contract (to fight buy-and-hold-till-expiration strategy).
Something new and interesting.
But why do you need "to fight" b&h at all?
This is an experimental contract which will allow us to see if there will be at least more intraday trading comparing to other contracts so we can come up with correct fee policy for the next contracts.
165  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: ICBIT Derivatives Market (USD/BTC futures trading) - LIVE on: April 25, 2013, 11:58:08 PM
P.S. Buying and holding previous contract would cost 0.003+0.003 BTC = 0.006 BTC. Buying and holding BUK3 for 30 days will be 0.0001*62 = 0.0062 BTC, so it's nearly the same for b&h strategy.
0.0062 BTC at the current price of 140USD is 8,68% fee.
1:2.5 leverage is not worth paying nearly 9% fee. It's increasingly more attractive to trade on Mt.Gox without leverage and with 1.2% fee or on other exchanges with even lower fees.
8.68% sounds scary, but you should also note that you are comparing 2 trades at Mt.Gox with 62 trades+clearings at ICBIT
Also there is a BUU3 contract that has 0.001 BTC fees (down to 0.0005 BTC if you have volume discount).

I am trying to change my wallet address and am unable to receive a confirmation email from Deepbit.net.
E-mail confirmations are working fine.
If you are using hotmail as your e-mail provider then you have to add "pool@deepbit.net" to your contact list, otherwise Hotmail just silently drops our e-mails.

Yes, our support e-mail address is temporarily unavailable as we are moving the mail server again, but I'm always here to answer any questions.
This doesn't affects the confirmation system.

I wish you'd just tried a much lower-fee contract to see what happens, rather than complicating it in this way.
That would be just too simple.

I suppose it's not the same, since this page links to the first one at the bottom.

Round duration can vary. This very long round already finished, so account balances will be updated in next hours.
This doesn't happens in PPS mode, that's why it has higher fee.

I am using the latest version GUImininer and it is hashing + FPGA hashing, however I am not getting any reward for the last 13 hrs.
Can someone explain to me what is going on?? or I should move to a different POOL?
If you are mining in Proportional mode then it's normal because we have a long round at this moment. Some rounds are very short, some are very long.
176  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: DeepBit pool thread for newbies on: April 19, 2013, 02:41:20 AM
is deepbit down? or going through DDOS?
Looks fine for me. No signs of decrease in total hashrate.

Can you see the pool's website ? Try to ping deepbit.net to check if there are any connection problems.

You can use any tail. Numbers and letters are both fine, at least if you use same worker name+tail in your miner's config.

I am experiencing the same weird drops as well...

-GUIMiner, latest version
-2 XFX 7970 double diss. model (Tahiti)
Can you please try some other compatible miner just to find out if the problem is caused by GUIminer or not ?
You can try cgminer if there is a version with getwork support or maybe just older (last year) version of GUIminer.
180  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: DeepBit pool thread for newbies on: April 14, 2013, 09:05:25 AM
I've just set it up this morning, it said "workers not connected" when i afkd for about 8 hours. When i came back it has 6 share and .00006469 btc but still says workers not connected. Guiminer has 3 workers working and i feel the settings are correct.
What is the real hashrate of your mining hardware ? If you are mining on your CPU or some very old nvidia card then "workers not connected" message is expected because CPU is way too slow (but your shares will still be accepted and paid).
