are you guys are going to route with other exchanges.. ?  (gox)
the reason why i left bitfinex is because the low volume... since they left gox .
cant even trade a good 100btc withoutout  massive slippage ..

163  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker - Hardcore on: June 22, 2013, 04:27:37 PM
I noticed that too, which sucks, because I really like to see whats going on with the depth.

Also, new wall on $106 just came up. Pretty sure its the wall that was on $108 [2000 of the 2500 was pulled]

Now 2000 on $106.

Smiley

I know i'm good on the fiat side if there's moving walls on tha bid side..

How the fuk would gox become insolvent... They're sitting on a goldmine of trading fees alone. You guys really need to stop thinking the worst possible scenarios, I personally think Gox isn't as bad as you guys make it seem. Yes, they have problems, but that's to be expected of an online exchange operating in a novelty area like bitcoin...

GOX is doomed.  The sob stories are going to be classic, as millions evaporate to fund the retirement of Gox executives.

I wouldn't go that far but they certainly have lost a lot of customers and they were partly responsible for the big correction a few months ago.
You reap what you sow, so I think Gox will just lose market share. That is needed.
They have done a lot for BTC, being a leader is very difficult. At least they have been great with security.
It will be nice when the exchanges are more evenly distributed, % wise.

Didn't they lose everyone's password hashes recently? My friend had everything stolen.

If your "friend" did not use 2 step authentication he deserved it.

He did not deserve it. We all make mistakes.

I only found out about the password hashes from a post on here. All gox had to do was send out and email informing customers what had happened and to advise them to change their password.

I'm not just gox bashing for the hell of it, they are not that bad, but this could have been avoided.
All your friend had to do was read his e-mail I guess. They sent multiple e-mails regarding this...

"Dear Mt.Gox user,

Our database has been compromised, including your email. We are working on a
quick resolution and to begin with, your password has been disabled as a
security measure (and you will need to reset it to login again on Mt.Gox).

If you were using the same password on Mt.Gox and other places (email, etc),
you should change this password as soon as possible.

For more details, please see this:

https://support.mtgox.com/entries/20208066-huge-bitcoin-sell-off-due-to-a-compromised-account-rollback

The informations there will be updated as our investigation progresses.

Please accept our apologies for the troubles caused, and be certain we will do
everything we can to keep the funds entrusted with us as secure as possible.

The leaked data includes the following:

- Account number
- Account login
- Email address
- Encrypted password

While the password is encrypted, it is possible to bruteforce most passwords
with time, and it is likely bad people are working on this right now.

Any unauthorized access done to any account you own (email, mtgox, etc) should
be reported to the appropriate authorities in your country.

Thanks,
The Mt.Gox team"

i did not get that mail.. when was this?

<MagicalTux> we will continue processing withdrawals next week, but limit to 1 million USD per day

Congrats to everyone who took a ~10% loss betting against MtGox's solvency. Cheesy

This statement screams cash flow issues.
Why limit to $1milliion USD per day ? and not like 100 wires per day? if they are having issues with overload of request, they should limit the request and not the amount.

Because that's the limit imposed by their bank maybe?

it doesnt make much sense to limit the amount of money..    banks transfer billions a day

167  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker - Hardcore on: June 21, 2013, 06:16:12 AM
Ok now I'm really tempted to buy at Bitstamp and sell at MtGox.

i'm doing it . :-)   veryyyy slooooowwwwlyy  hahaah
168  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker - Hardcore on: June 20, 2013, 07:12:26 PM
Btw. Just saw this.
https://pro.bitcoincharts.com
Wondering which ones are the exchanges involved?

well.. this will be the awesomeness of bitcoin..
interconected exchanges..

http://www.coinsetter.com/
will also join the game..  with multi exchange capabilities.

this is going to be an awesome year
169  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker - Hardcore on: June 20, 2013, 06:27:17 PM
Well if the theory of the gox price rising because of an exodus of btc in order to cash-out elsewhere has any merit then I guess people are using localbitcoins or some other service with a gox-linked price (or they're not in a hurry to convert back to USD) because it's certainly not driving the price down at bitstamp or elsewhere at the moment.  The proximity-to-gox is certainly a bigger percentage than average but there is no correlating down as of yet to gox's up.

buy on bitstamp .. dump on gox Wink  ahh i love this game
170  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker - Hardcore on: June 20, 2013, 12:15:02 PM
Situation is:
There is currently and for the coming 2 weeks NO option to cash out on Gox .
Who is gonna sell now? Not miners or asics companies or those who need cash, only speculators who believe price will correct back. Those who have fiat on gox and are worried about the nonsensical explanation of the press release will want to buy coins and hold or sell at another exchange. Conclusion: more buying than selling will occur.

i'm sitting on gox with fiat for ages now.. why would 2 weeks make any difference? Smiley
maybe sell a bit .. to pay bills on other exchanges sure..

171  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker - Hardcore on: June 20, 2013, 12:05:33 PM
USD out of their gox account.

because of recent news about problems with withdrawal of usd?
or what do you mean?

This might explain it better ... dated today

https://mtgox.com/press_release_20130620.html

thanks...
so the fastest way to get your dollars out of gox is...buying bitcoins and selling them on another exchange with faster withdrawal???.
didn't we have that problem with gox withdrawals already some weeks ago?

yes and it doesnt do anything on the price Smiley  basicaly business as usual..
172  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker - Hardcore on: June 20, 2013, 07:58:37 AM
what i think is happening.;   big guy .. slowly bying up with 1k(ish) buys..     people think .. oh trend is changing..   lets buy..

big guy has  put good bidvolume ..

now big guy bought high ....  he knows price will not go much deeper then 80 ish ... so must atack from a higher price ..

big guy removes bidvolume..

dump enough coins to start panic selloff ..

we all think its cup and handle pattern right? Smiley    well maybe this can be true for the big player to even have the ability  to sell at even higher price..

i'm still full fiat..   got bot ready to profit when we might have some shortterm up rally..
but looking at full orderbook , + asci miners having a lot of coins to sell lately...   i'm not feeling it uptrending already..
although TA indicators are pretty good looking to me for some up trend..

this market is manipulated too much  .. i'd say 1 more time bottom to start trend reversal or stability and slowly growing to the next bubble in januari Smiley
173  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker - Hardcore on: June 19, 2013, 06:13:23 AM
Our big boys are back, 5k at 100.2 and 2.5k at 102..

i'm still not buying though..   Smiley  8k wazilla is still out there
174  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker - Hardcore on: June 18, 2013, 05:48:29 AM
Wow, some nice buys coming in. Looks like our buyer got tired of slowly buying.

I think it's the same pool of money waiting to buy bitcoin at sub $90 price, but lost their patient and decide to buy them at higher price now.
Wink

it's that time again..   ..
4h ema's about to cross..
buy a load of coins..      let people think that it this time will be different..

dump shitload! buy coins cheaper..
175  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker - Hardcore on: June 17, 2013, 12:46:29 PM
i wish i had a company..
i'd lend a few millions..   buy bitcions..
pay it back after 5 years  ..

i'd be fucking rich

176  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker - Hardcore on: June 16, 2013, 09:55:29 PM
btc/usd is spiking UP at other exchanges.

yeah.. the 200buy at bitstamp moved price up for a moment Wink
177  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker - Hardcore on: June 16, 2013, 10:19:23 AM
That vol spike on CM is completely bogus. It has done this before.
I was online at the time and a few hundred went through on bitcoinwisdom, but not thousands like CM has.
agree.; i double checked with other tools .; this is bogus
178  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker - Hardcore on: June 16, 2013, 10:18:49 AM
last realy big selloff had also a nice  bidwall  ..  got eaten like candy..

 Angry

Yes, so "they" are basically selling into any rally and it is not showing up (of course) in the market depth...

also.. check this..

thats some big  guys pushing up bid volume .. in way to short time,
i've seen this happen with wazilla 8k coin too.. the straight line up or down..
it would be nice if we can see when and where this bid wall hass been set.
it all feels like a bull trap again.

i'm 60fiat/40btc

i might be wrong of course Smiley this is still bitcoin.
179  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker - Hardcore on: June 16, 2013, 09:53:33 AM

so ive been watching the bigger guys for a while..

a) reloading for big dumps.
b) reloading for big uptrend rallies..

since i think we didnt hit real bottom yet..   (70-80) .. i think it will be a)
then again.. i made many trade mistakes already..
still 10x investment before bubble though Smiley but still.. made a lot of mistakes in this downtrend
