161  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you set up limits for yourself? on: August 18, 2017, 01:14:50 AM
I don’t need to limit myself in gambling because my lack of money already does that for me, lol. But seriously speaking, I do set limit to my gambling by betting money I can afford to lose. I manage my money as responsibly as I could. I make sure some go to savings, the other goes to necessities, and the rest is to gamble away.

162  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why I suddenly decided to leave gambling alone. on: August 17, 2017, 06:44:55 PM
You have quit while you’re ahead and that takes some serious balls. We are only human, sooner or later we will arrive at our breaking point wherein we will say that we have enough. The breaking point wherein we accept defeat and just fold then leave the game. Sometimes this breaking point is farther away for some people. Sometime the breaking point was when they finally lose everything they have, be it family or materially. And I’m glad that it didn’t have come to that.
163  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can gambling be profitable in long term ? on: August 17, 2017, 06:24:36 PM
Gambling can be a profitable in a long term period if you’re patient enough but $50-$100 everyday is a tad bit impossible. There are gambling games that will earn you serious dough tho. If you have the skills and discipline then you can make a profit off of it. It can be profitable in long term as long as you’re winning more than losing. But I think you’re better off finding a stable job, that is the epitome, I think, of profitable in long term.
164  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gift For Kid on: August 17, 2017, 06:13:28 PM
This would be bad parenting on my part. I rather prefer books, board games, and educational toys. Buying this is like encouraging them to develop a gambling behavior or character, but if my kids ask, I’d answer them honestly and candidly. I will explain to them the repercussions this will bring to them and how should they would always be careful and wary of gambling.
165  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Buying Drugs with Bitcoin ? on: August 17, 2017, 05:38:18 PM
It's illegal when they caught you buying or selling drugs with the use of Bitcoin but it’s cool to see how people use it. It’s interesting to see people in this forum on how they spend their Bitcoin and their purposes on acquiring Bitcoin. It shows diversity and distinct background on where we came from and what our motivations that we have arrived at the same place and at the same time on the internet. As interesting and cool I find this is, nice try FBI.
166  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin money? on: August 17, 2017, 05:21:59 PM
Why make it so complicated? It’s money for some, it’s currency for others, and it’s something else for the rest. Let’s try not to overthink it so much. Bitcoin is what we make of it. If you use Bitcoin as money, then its money. If it’s something you see as an asset, then it’s an asset. If it’s just something with no intrinsic value but with exchange value then it’s just something with no intrinsic value but with exchange value. Bitcoin has grown bigger and has expanded and is now being used by different with different purposes. Bitcoin is what we make of it.

167  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why some people prefer Bitcoin over fiat ? on: August 17, 2017, 05:06:49 PM
I agree with most of your statement. I think that Bitcoin was not purposely made to accommodate things such as these. It was created for direct peer to peer transactions, erasing the middlemen. But once Bitcoin was out there, it was left to men on how to use it. We have used and manipulated Bitcoin to fit our purposes because of the advantages it has provided us. We used these advantages because well, they’re advantages. They’re the ones that makes people wants to use Bitcoin. So is it really misuse when we use Bitcoin’s offered advantages?

168  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is instant way to get rich ? on: August 17, 2017, 04:25:11 PM
Bitcoin is not an instant way to richness. If its instant I would have been enjoying a martini with Bill Gates while saving orphan youths in Libya in our private jet. Instant ways to richness can be found in Lotto cards, luck, coincidences, and being friends with the government higher ups when the USSR went down. But it is not found in Bitcoin. Maybe for the few lucky ones but what about the rest?  You have to work hard and smart. You have to make decisions that either can make or break you. Make moves that can empty or fill your bank account. To become rich requires patience, smartness, tenacity with a little bit of luck. It’s not instant. It’s not a shortcut. It’s a highway.
169  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What Is Your Bitcoin Dream? on: August 17, 2017, 10:44:04 AM
Ain’t that sweet. As much as I agree with everyone’s answers because let’s admit, who doesn’t want a mansion with a swimming pool on the backyard and a garage with amazing cars? But the thing I really dream out of Bitcoin is the financial stability. I want to know the feeling of not owing anyone anything. I want to know the feeling of having money so I can buy the random shit I want when I pass by stores and market stalls. I want to know the feeling of not having to choose between buying clothes or buying food. I want to know the feeling of just giving money to students who are talented but are clearly struggling financially. To not worry about the next payday or worry about supporting my parent when they are old. And a gooddamn Aventador and a yacht in an island that I own, lol.

170  Other / Off-topic / Re: Would you give bitcoin as a wedding gift? on: August 17, 2017, 10:17:42 AM
Isn’t that something? Bitcoin can be made into as a wedding gift. It is becoming more and more like money as the years go by that we can give easily and casually. But if I’m asked right now if I would give it as gift, I’d say no. Maybe Tupperware or a coffee machine but bitcoin? No. I’m struggling as it is to earn bitcoin right now and I can’t afford to give it away as a gift. I see no profit in it. Maybe in a couple of years, when I’m hopefully have Bitcoins to spare to give as a gift, maybe then.  Grin
171  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Difference between Bitcoin and real money? on: August 16, 2017, 08:52:06 PM
You have raised legitimate questions and I may not be able to provide legitimate answers but I’ll try my best. You may already have read the pros and cons of Bitcoin, its history, and some of the stories of people who have used and is using it. It started almost a decade ago but it cannot be denied that it’s still somewhat in its infancy and has issues more complicated than changing diapers. Why would you convert into Bitcoin when governments demands and requires $ as payment? Why would you convert to Bitcoin when most places are still more convenient with cash? I can only answer is because it has potential. It has potential to exist side by side with fiat, equally or more. It has potential to be convenient like the cash we carry in our pockets. No need to convert or invest all your money on Bitcoin but you have to see that Bitcoin has potential to be the Next Big Thing. It has a place in our future and might play a big role in the coming years on how we view and use currency.
172  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: regret by not believing in BITCOIN? on: August 16, 2017, 08:43:00 PM
I’m just thankful that I discovered bitcoin at all. There are little regrets and I can sleep peacefully at night without “what-ifs” running through my mind. Let’s just focus our energy to bitcoin rather than regretting it. I find that in some people regretting becomes resenting. Let it not turn into that. Negative thoughts just birth more negative thoughts. Let’s just be happy because Bitcoin has reached another milestone, however short lived it might be.

173  Economy / Economics / Re: Is bitcoin a good way to invest your money ? on: August 16, 2017, 11:09:51 AM
Bitcoin is a good invest now because it continues and will continue to spread all over the World Wide Web. More and more people are taking notice of its Internet presence. It has reached a new high (though it went down just as fast), breaking another record and making business headlines. It’s a good investment because its value will continue to rise parallel to its popularity.
174  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is it too late to buy bitcoin? on: August 16, 2017, 09:24:21 AM
It depends on what is the definition of “late” for you. It is too late to buy Bitcoin when you are regretting not buying in early 2011 when it is still $1  a pop. But it’s never too late if you are looking for a good investment. If it’s a good investment you are looking for then it is never too late sometimes it’s just a matter of timing (like Forex waiting for the price drop.) Bitcoin will have a great role in our future so I suggest to invest and buy now,it's never too to buy now before than sorry.
175  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BITCOIN IS BETTER THAN WESTERN UNION ? on: August 11, 2017, 06:17:31 AM
Bitcoin offers anonymity. It secures the person sending and receiving the money. It has a near perfect math algorithm that is hard to hack. There are no secret or surprise fees to be paid. If there happens to be a fee then the fees are low to almost zero. It is direct meaning no middleman. No reason for your money to be lost in the system. Just for these few reasons that Bitcoin is better than Western Union.

176  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Will Kill The Income Tax on: August 11, 2017, 05:07:09 AM
Well, ain’t that nice a dream. A bit idealistic but I really do hope for a tax free future. But as a part of the human race, I can testify that we are terrible and petty bastards. Do you think all people will be on this tax-free ride without giving a fight (ahem, politicians)? Do you think that voluntarily paying tax so that only legit and useful projects will be done and built will work? I guess it will as long as all people will agree to be mature and prioritize things without getting petty and ironic about. But I really do hope for this.
177  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you think Bitcoin will survive after 100 year ? on: August 11, 2017, 04:48:46 AM
It will survive but not as Bitcoin, per se. It is a great possibility that a new currency will appear or that Bitcoin will evolve from as we know it right now. There’s a chance that a new virtual currency with better features and better structure with stability like rock will sprout and people will be more accepting of it. In a way, Bitcoin will survive because it has laid the foundation for such currency to exist. Bitcoin will be the ancestor of virtual currencies of the future.
178  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: bitcoin cannot replace currency in the world because price is not stable on: August 11, 2017, 04:08:02 AM
In my opinion, Bitcoin will not replace currency in the world any time soon in the future.  It will continue coexisting with fiat just like as it does now. Maybe it will be more used than fiat but they will continue to coexist. I can’t really imagine our banks giving up their control on the money business to give way to a currency that doesn’t need any middleman or currency that they can’t tax.
179  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin Sound Money? on: August 10, 2017, 10:40:43 PM
Bitcoin is sound money. It is legit virtual currency. It buys me things and can be gambled away. Comparing it to gold doesn’t make it any less of a currency. Comparing it to gold just to diss gold is a bit passé, I think. They have their differences as well as their own advantages. But each to his/her own opinion, I guess.
180  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Crime funded by bitcoin on: August 10, 2017, 07:22:27 PM
There is no crime that is funded by Bitcoin, only crimes funded WITH Bitcoin. I do not really like that the few instances that Bitcoin strike the International headlines, one of the news is about the digital Silk Road. It gives Bitcoin a bad image and reputation. People will assume that Bitcoin funds crimes and will get the wrong idea. But we also have to accept that Bitcoin’s anonymity policy ,that attracts criminals, is one it Bicoin’s biggest advantage and biggest evil.
