None of the exchanges are honest, just some are more cooked than others. Btc-e has been the best exchange so far, but you never know if and when it'll go down. Best thing to do is use paper wallets with in-person trades.

Just get a real-life job and use some of the money you earn to buy BTC. You'll probably make more BTC like that than if you offer a service on here, unless you're really good at coding.

I wouldn't say that the price is rising crazily, but it does appear that the downtrend is reversing. If I had fiat on an exchange right right now, I'd exchange it into BTC asap.

Hey Panda I've noticed that there are more people with paid sigs getting banned and a lot of them have very poor English. Perhaps you can make good English skills a requirement for eligibility, as they're making all of us look bad. I haven't really seen many spammers in your campaigns though, as I'm sure you thoroughly check each member's posts.

Well, let's see: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=234380;sa=showPostsYour friend's posts are of very poor quality. The fact that their English really sucks doesn't help their case much either. Yours are not much better. I hope sig campaign operators start making good English skills a requirement to be accepted. I'm gonna bring that up with them.

Maybe he has a full-time job? Plus, he probably has tons of PMs to deal with whenever he comes online. The donations are supposed to go towards the upkeep of this forum and the development of new forum software. Of course, he's got more BTC than he needs to run the forum, but most of them were donated when the price was very low. Can't blame theymos for that.

What happened to all those $5000 by July predictions? Seems like most people are doubtful of even $1000 by July. I think we'll be in the $500s.

Proof-of-Resource cryptocoins aim to solve the problem of wasted resources by rewarding people who share drive space and processing power with coins. There's a few already in the works like maidsafe. Shame they botched their IPO, but I'm sure someone will fork it once it's released.

You have to keep in mind that the forum gets paid for advertisements and us paid sig members are competing with them. I've only recently started renting out my sig space, but hey, if it's allowed as per the forum rules, then why not? I'd be making these posts anyhow, and getting a little btc for them is a nice bonus. EvilPanda actually withheld signature payment from a member who had low-quality posts last month, and I think the bans given out by the mods will deter spammers.

Saudibull was quite a scammer himself. I doubt he's going to come back to claim any btc, but he doesn't deserve 1 satoshi. Maybe give it to one of his victims if any are still around. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=216414.0There's more threads calling him out too I think.

With the way maidsafe botched their IPO, I wouldn't be surprised if their finished product is underwhelming. Another thing that maidsafe lacks is a great community. That does make a big difference and could easily give any competitors an edge. The only reason dogecoin became so popular is because it has a good and active community.

It's the calm before the storm. We'll be seeing some high volume trades soon enough, the question is whether it'll go up or down.
It's not going up absent a huge inflow of new fiat or Gox-like restriction on fiat withdrawals. So, down we go. It's not going down absent a huge withdraw of old coins or Gox-like restriction on btc withdrawals. So, up we go. With very little fresh fiat coming in and lots of new coins being mined everyday, this storm may force the price into a landslide.

How do you know they're from different wallets?
You don't know, not that it really matters as long as you get paid.

I read somewhere that an ETF would only be traded during business hours. Isn't that worse? Imagine the price dropping and people can't do anything till trading starts. I'd never buy btc like that.

No one country has been in control of BTC, as it is decentralized. It does appear that China's effect on prices seems to be waning though, but I'd give it several weeks more before proclaiming that we're past this whole banning scenario.

It's nothing we haven't seen before. The recent highs keep getting lower, the adoption rate has slowed down. The price will probably go back down to the low $400s come Monday.

Any updates on this? I think a few of the old guard may have gotten pushed out by some fresh blood.
