161  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: August 13, 2017, 08:26:04 AM
Has anyone else experienced buy or sell orders placed on Bitstamp that you didn't place?
I've had it twice now for sure and I'm positive I didn't place them unless I'm misunderstanding how it works.  The most recent one I bought using the buy button on the tradeview with "add if order".  Then I checked my account and it indeed did buy in 4 transactions. I then wanted to close another open order and noticed there were 4 separate sell orders placed 80$ above where I had just bought for the same amounts that I'm sure I didn't place even by accident.
What gives?

I'm using Stamp since 2013 and I never experienced such a thing. My immediate thoughts:

  • Check for API keys on your account and revoke every one of them, if any,
  • Open a support ticket with references to the orders you didn't place
162  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: unconfirmed transaction on blockchain.info on: August 13, 2017, 08:09:13 AM
I am surprised that Blockchain.info still lets anyone do this in the first place, because nowadays zero-fee transactions are mostly likely to be ignored/rejected by all miners. Furthermore, I don't think that the Blockchain.info wallet lets you increase the fees of an already broadcast tx.

However, there are "external" options to expedite or salvage zero-fee transactions, for example this one from BTC.com mining pool

PS: your post is likely to be moved to service discussion by a moderator, so I'd suggest you to do it yourself

EDIT: oops, I just realised that payment at the accelerator link that I provided seems only available to Chinese bank card holders... there might be other such services available though.

The bot is now open again for deposit. Enjoy!

Are you sure.... i tried to chat to the bot and it says

Sorry you are late. See you in the next round.

Im trying to consolidate all my bitcoin to 1 address so i don't have multiple byteball ones as initial linking with wallets i had 3. I should be able to just post an address to the transition bot to have it start the linking right

You seem to be talking about the transition bot whereas ByteFan is talking about his BB trading bot here.

If the post-correction price stays above $4k, let's all celebrate this by buying tulip bulbs for next spring... with fiat of course Grin

Deal with it.

Great Scott! 5k seems underestimated for the end of the year by now. That's flabbergasting.

Anyone dares to short Bitcoin right now?
167  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BYTEBALL: Totally new consensus algorithm + private untraceable payments on: August 13, 2017, 03:03:15 AM
This thread is getting spammed with "why dump, why no moon yet" and it's getting impossible to get info out of it, should we make another thread ? One that is moderated for actual information, updates, news and delete all these useless posts about the price or would that look bad ?

I totally second this.

@tonych Would you maybe consider creating a new self-moderated thread to reduce the noise of price/speculation chitchat?
168  Other / Meta / Re: I just got banned!! But why? on: August 08, 2017, 01:02:47 AM
Because obvious is not obvious enough for you, let's put it bluntly:

This forum is crippled by parasite accounts like yours.

Your posts bring absolutely nothing to the forum, they only add noise, and cover the signal.

You need to change this, or go away.
169  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BYTEBALL: Totally new consensus algorithm + private untraceable payments on: August 07, 2017, 05:55:23 PM
The timing of the announcement (a few hours before the last major airdrop for BTC holders) is also very clever indeed.

The new distribution model makes perfect sense to me.
170  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Bitcoin Cash - Fork 1:1 of Bitcoin - Pro on-chain scaling on: August 07, 2017, 05:50:13 PM
I must be understanding it differently from you but it BTC is more profitable it's only just

Can someone else give an option lol if I'm wrong I'll hang my head in shame

What you're missing is the more in "more profitable".

If it is 98% more profitable to mine BTC, it means the profitability of BTC vs BCash is 198% (or the inverse, BCash has 51% the profitability of BTC)
171  Local / Économie et spéculation / Re: Le bitcoin devrait remonter on: August 07, 2017, 12:01:38 PM
2848 euros en pointe !  Lips sealed

173  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Bitcoin Cash - Fork 1:1 of Bitcoin - Pro on-chain scaling on: August 05, 2017, 11:40:59 AM
I am planning to buy some BTC is this the lowest its going to be or there are more people going to dump.

A lot of deposits have not been credited, therefore not dumped yet (e.g. Poloniex)
174  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Bitcoin Cash - Fork 1:1 of Bitcoin - Pro on-chain scaling on: August 04, 2017, 09:22:22 PM
In celebration of Bcash August 1 date I suggest do a fork of Bcash on August 1 each year  Grin and let the free market decide which years bcash is the best  Grin

Oh, be careful what you wish for... Roll Eyes

Every post on this topic could be somewhat summed up like this:

...or...

176  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Bitcoin Cash - Fork 1:1 of Bitcoin - Pro on-chain scaling on: August 04, 2017, 08:09:17 PM
Boy, blocks are so scarce, it's a good thing that this chain supports blocks up to 8MB Grin

Seriously, difficulty is a problem: 3x less profitable than BTC = not low enough to trigger retargeting, yet bad enough to make things potentially worse in the upcoming weeks.
177  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Bitcoin Cash - Fork 1:1 of Bitcoin - Pro on-chain scaling on: August 04, 2017, 07:05:17 PM
Why not let both coin compete and let the community decide?

Because de facto the coins are competing and the community decides.

There's no choice here it's called free market.

Maybe you are overestimating this trollbox Smiley
178  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Bitcoin Cash - Fork 1:1 of Bitcoin - Pro on-chain scaling on: August 04, 2017, 06:52:04 PM
Can you theoretically broadcast a signed BTC tx on the BCC blockchain?

You can, but (compliant) nodes will reject it per REQ-6-2 of UAHF, even if you mine the block yourself it will be orphaned.
179  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Bitcoin Cash - Fork 1:1 of Bitcoin - Pro on-chain scaling on: August 04, 2017, 06:51:08 PM
It has become apparent that every new BCash block brings its own little wave of dump (the coin loses 5-10% value), then somewhat recovers to about half its loss. Any daytrader or bot can easily profit from this. This coin is full of its own surprises Grin
180  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Bitcoin Cash - Fork 1:1 of Bitcoin - Pro on-chain scaling on: August 04, 2017, 11:05:15 AM
Now its going down.  Grin
Yes, and a lot:-(
What are the chances to see it again at 0.25 or 0.30 btc ?

When BCash will be 25% or 30% as significant as Bitcoin, it should reach back that level. There's a loooong way to go, though, so I expect it to settle around 0.05BTC for a while. Which is not that bad, when you think about it, for an altcoin that was just born a few days ago.
