New to mining with Nvidia but I have 1 1070 in a loan rig and when I access it with Chrome Remote Desktop I get pixelation and drop in hashrates. Anyone run into that issue? I have 2 more coming so I might try one of the others as the primary video to see if its just that card or not. It is a Refurb card so it could just be that one. When I had it with a RX 460, the 460 was the primary video and there was no issues so not sure if its a Nvidia thing or just the card.
If you have an integrated gpu on the CPU, maybe try with that?

any improvements to GTX 1080 Ti on this new version?
Yes, i get 15-20 Sol more with a MSI 1080ti Gaming X 11G Total is around/over 770Sol/s now with 250 watts.

Hi, I've got a few questions for anybody who uses the miner on linux/ubuntu, don't have very much experience at all with using linux. I've got a few 1080ti's, and I've installed the latest proprietary Nvidia drivers. I've seen people mention installing cuda as well though. Is that necessary, and if so, does it come along with the regular nvidia drivers, or is it something extra to install? Also, compared to the windows version of the miner, do all the same commands work? As in things like fee, pec, etc. Just add them to the config file as extra parameters, under the common section? In addition, is there some convenient place to see the stats as they come in, like the windows command prompt shows you when it's running on windows? I know you can go and see the web console, and see a snapshot of the stats, but there's no equivalent of the constantly running stats that the windows version had?
If you are thinking about mining on linux, you should check out this distro specifically made for nvidia gpu mining https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1854250.0It's the easiest one to use.

just got my ZOTAC 1080ti, extreme amp editions
friggin cosmetic damage on them too, they must be trying to knock out as many as they can so watch out for reselling value
anyway
what program do people use for NVIDIA power clocking? been doing it with AMD for years but kinda forgot about poor old nvidia
getting 750h/s out of the box per card, really really nice upgrade from my HD7990 rigs
any other programs that are useful when mining nvidia?
I use MSI Afterburner for core mem and voltage clocking. With the 1080ti you can use the Voltage/Frequency curve editor to achieve better stability, higher overclocks, lower voltages and lower power consumption. Here are my settings for a MSI GTX 1080ti Gaming X: awesome thanks bro thats odd settings seem work on MSI AB, but after a while they seem to revert to normal is there some override i need to do? Not As far as i know, could your drivers be crashing after a little while? It's also a bit wonky for me that you have to apply the oc curve after a few minutes of mining to keep the core mhz stable. Also make sure you unlock voltage control from the afterburner settings and maybe try the "third party" option as well because your card isn't from MSI.

One newbie question: How can I get the stats like this? May I ask, what cards are these? I think they are 2 1080ti's and 2 1070's

Is it possible to use this mine on my gtx 1060 while I'm mining eth on Claymore on my rx480?
Yes, should be no problem.

Do you use the Add2PSU, or just jump the the PSU pins?
Add2PSU. Other methods will work as well, I just like solutions that I know will definitely work How would that work with more than 2 PSUs? Connecting 2 ATX cables together into one port?

Zen is quite low ( a half of price compared with this earlier price ). I think this is a good time to buy more coins and hold it for 3 months then I can get some big profits again.
Not only that, it is a GREAT TIME to mine. At this price... one of my avg ~$40 a day rigs made about $80 worth of ZEN last 24 hours. Huge undervalue here and all I am waiting for is to withdraw from Bittrex to put my node online. Just curious, What kind of rig do you have?

Hi, kjs can I ask you what PSU's are you using?
The rig in the photos has 4 x Seasonic PRIME Gold 1200W PSU's. I actually moved all of the GPU's to another nearly identical unit which has 2 x EVGA 1300 G2 PSU's and 1 x EVGA 1200 P2 PSU. You need to allow up to 300W for each 1080 Ti multiplied by the number of GPU's, plus CPU and system draw, divided by the PSU efficiency under load to work out your total power requirements. Do you use the Add2PSU, or just jump the the PSU pins?

Continuing on the same topic, i'm planning a 6xGTX 1080ti mining rig for Equihash and the problem is, i haven't been able to find a PSU that can output over 1600 watts and have 12x8 pin power connectors. Does such a PSU exist or not? I guess the only choice is to go with 2 PSUs?

Hello, just wanted to ask, is there a way to change voltage like you can in Msi afterburner by pressing CTRL+F to get to "Voltage/Frequency curve editor", and if not is there an alternate solution or could it be implemented in the future? Thanks!

Great update so far. I'm running 2 1080Ti's and getting 740 Sol/s on 243 watts. Hmmmm that power... Running two 1080ti as you 665 Sol/s at 179W 3.2 Sol/W is good enough for me, since the electricity is not that expensive here. And i mined nearly 300$ in 10 days, with 2 cards.

Does anybody has 6x 1080 rig and could share information about hashrate, power consumption from wall? I plan to build some rig, and consider if 1070 or 1080 will be best choice at the moment.
i have 2 riggs with 4 x 1080TI each. but the hashrate and power consumption is based on many factors. you will approximately get 700 sol @ 250 watt per gpu. how much that is from wall depends on psu, ambient temp and more You could get 50-70 sol more each with 260 watts for the 1080ti.

Is 270Sol/s a typical hashrate for a 970? I consider buying a few cheap Maxwell cards for zcash.
Yes. I did 300 Sols with PL 80%, core 1550/mem 3750 on Gigabyte G1. That card was a overclocking monster. But it did burn 150W doing that. So if electricity is not an issue, used 970s are best bang for the buck even today. Just make sure to use Nvidia Inspector for overclocking because Afterburner cant OC memory on Maxvell cards. Is ROI better for 980 than 1080? I think for the 970 it is but keep in mind Sol/watt will be around 1.5(if i recall correctly) if you push them hard to achieve 300 or over sol/s. so if you have basically free power them you could use them.

EWBF, can you get more hashrate from 1080TI?
Also, reported hashrate on windows machines isn't correct it seems where the miner says 700sol, pools say ~600 My linux riggs don't miss this much hashrate, ever.
I'm getting 750-770Sol/s each with my 2 1080ti, same is shown at the pool.
|
|
|
970 can do that but power efficiency is not the same as 1060
Yep, mine takes 210 watts according to the miner how is 1 gtx 1080 ti 100%tdp? I am curious, I might get one I'm doing 750-775Sol/s at max oc with 95% power limit. The key with the 1080ti/titan xp is to undervolt, you'll get better better OC and stability while consuming less power and getting lower temps. 981mv seems to be my sweet spot, using around 250 watts.

Probably a pretty dumb question, but I'm new to mining.
I was using Nicehash for selling my hash, and thus only needed a BTC wallet since they pay in BTC. If I use this miner, I have to get a ZCash wallet and do the conversions myself yes?
If you want BTC then you have to use some exchange(I use Bittrex) to convert your ZCash. If you point the miner at the nicehash pools you will continue to get paid in BTC. Its only if you mine to a normal ZEC pool that you will need to exchange if you want BTC. I didn't know, you could mine to nicehash with this EWBF miner?
