Bill, isnt it Bad to spray the Plants on a sunny Day? I remember we did it at dawn or night cause of the sun burn.

I personally use milk (unprocessed from farmers) and a little baking soda in certain proportions mixed with water to protect tomatoes, peppers and cucumbers. Some research shows that milk in combination with the sun gives the best protection to plants.

Oh yeah this reminds me, we dont need Pesticide. Natural Pesticides are Just growing all around Us 😁. What else they going to make for Profit huh 😁

This is completely true, I do not use any pesticides and herbicides, and apart from the above, the best natural fertilizer is obtained from nettles and comfrey, which fortunately there are a lot of in my area. Of course, it should be noted that I am not a farmer but someone who produces for their own needs on a small area, and that such treatments can hardly be carried out on large areas.

I don't see any reason why successful non synthetic chemical methods of pest control cannot not be scaled up.
Milk diluted 15:1 can work against disease by encouraging antagonistic micro-flora, it has to be applied before onset of disease. For example tomato blight or downy mildew on onions.
The liquid feeds made from composted leaves are every bit as good as commercially bought feeds like seaweed extract.
On bigger scales organic farmers make much use of (costly) insect mesh and baking soda can be used as it increases alkalinity which deters some diseases.
Great to see people growing some of their own healthy food.

Might be different product you are using I know we had to do it without the sun cause we gathered Plants from the fields and then dried them, then boiled them to make a Medicine for plant diseases. It always worked like charm But if we did it during the Day the Plants would end up burned

Oh yeah this reminds me, we dont need Pesticide. Natural Pesticides are Just growing all around Us 😁. What else they going to make for Profit huh 😁

You are quite right water droplets on leaves can act as miniature magnifying glasses enabling the suns rays to scorch a plant.
Modern sprayers use a very fine mist so the water droplet situation does not arise. However the heat from direct sunlight can cause spray to dry out too quickly before it has a chance to spread over the leaves or be absorbed by a systemic preparation.

What plants were getting boiled up to produce a natural spray?

For example oxalic acid a very good aphid pesticide can be extracted from boiling rhubarb leaves. Although natural it is in fact illegal to make your own insecticides, maybe to protect the big manufacturers but probably to protect regular Joe from himself.

Problem with natural pesticides is that insects quickly get resistant to them and the synthetic ones too. Evolution at work!
Very short generation cycles mean that if one survivor in 100s trillions that has a genetic variation to survive a pesticide will soon become the new resistant pest,

So we don't need pesticide. Tell that to the farmers affected by last years locust plague. Starting in Arabian peninsula spread out to Iran, Pakistan, India and west to Egypt, Ethiopia Kenya, with loss of 6 million acres of crops, $9 billion These crops could have been saved at a cost of around $500 million. But many farmers in these regions are too poor to afford such measures.

Completely off topic there are boring farming forums for this.

Meanwhile can the price be pushed lower to $43k to make sure to be sure to be sure that this really, really is support before the price rebounds on its relentless way up in this 12 year bull market.

Does the market really need to test $43k again before heading upwards?
I suppose we will know by Friday.

Time to fill the sprayer tank to protect my potato crop from blight.
Then start at first light in around half an hour while the air is at its stillest.
Have a good day all whatever you have planned.

Bill, since you're a farmer, do some spraying on WO too. Use your strongest trollicide.

All the really poisonous chemicals are now banned.

However you can use at full strength with no dilution an ingredient called ignore button.

Seems to kill off the trolls, you certainly never hear from them again.

I presume them dead.

Apologies for the drug abuse label.

I thought my daughter in law was a drug abuser but turns out she suffers from bi polar disorder.

Looking through your posts, she could have written any one of them.

She takes Lithium to even out the highs and lows.

When she stops taking it (Lithium) she feels really good, has unlimited energy often not sleeping for days, she is extremely creative during this period to the point of being genius, connected to God and every atom in the universe life is great. Her grip on reality starts to wane, she becomes delusional, paranoid which is usually ends with a breakdown and admission to hospital. The crash after the high.

Not saying this is your prognosis but you exhibit many of the symptoms. (Hell most of us do at times)

This is meant in good faith.

Very strange, every time I turn on my phone after dancing, the price of Bitcoin collapses.
Since the end of our rehearsal performance on May 19th, I slumped in the bathroom and watched the price of Bitcoin,In the past 3 months, I rarely danced because I was afraid to remember everything I experienced that day.

During this period of time, the price has picked up, and my mood has almost adjusted,I want to continue dancing, but I probably experimented with it 5 to 6 times,No matter what day I go to dance, the price of Bitcoin will definitely fall on that day,I am very distressed.
Later, I short Bitcoin every time I go to the dance studio,Today is the 7th time.

I did a new jazz dance for my sister 3 hours ago,My dad told me seriously that I must tell him before I dance next time.He opened an empty order in advance.

cant sleep since 3.00 am So might as well have coffee and start the day.

Jazmin yes please, post your dancing schedule for the next month right here.

I'll be ready to open 100x leveraged short positions, it looks like you may be on to something.

Farmers sometimes place luminous tubes next to electric fencing to check if it works, when there's a power pulse the tube lights up.

Beautiful art sculpture.

Electric fencing technology has moved on a bit. I can operate the energizer from my phone get fault reports sent to my phone if the fence is not energized or if the wire is broken (cattle are out roaming) plus overall health status of the system. This is useful given the energizer can power 25 miles of fence wire.

High Voltage overhead power lines can induce lethal current in cattle fencing that is run parallel to the direction of the power lines. Before the days of checking the insulators on the pylons with an infra red camera from a helicopter, it was quite possible to bury a coil out of sight underneath the power lines and obtain free electricity. Now such attempts are easily spotted.

@shahzadafzal If anyone celebrating this fuckup in Pakistan (recent events in Afg), please remind them that not one Afghani recognize the Durand line, be it your good taliban or bad taliban.

Celebrating??? You got it wrong my friend… stop trusting your media and yelling journalists they just want to make it a sensational news.

Remember this is not a celebration for Taliban winning… but it’s a laugh on a Big Daddy the mighty might and not only Pakistanis but world is laughing too. Champions of the peace have left the country in chaos. People are literally falling from skies. There are more daily killings in Afghanistan as compared to 2001.

Who’s ready to fight Taliban in Afghanistan yet again? Americas might be safe sitting thousands of miles away but what options do neighboring countries have? Think..

Any news angle on Afghanistan from your part of the world shahzadafzal is welcome.

Fuck Elon, fuck big players.

It seems to me that ants are the ones that will take us to the moon and beyond. Ants work hard, they don't fuck around, and they don't have twitter accounts.

With countries like Nigeria where over half their population is under 20 years old and 32% of Nigerians owning cryptocurrencies (the amount of Bitcoin is not specified.) it will indeed be the ants who drive adoption and acceptance.

Nigeria's Central Bank devalued the naira by 24% last year with a further 10% planned for this year adding impetus for Nigerians to find a safe currency to protect the value of their cash.

Look at me, we are the Captains now

Well yeah....
No 2 bit opium poppy farmer is gonna fuck with dudes who still live in the dark ages, pray to Allah 5 times a day
and sport those funny hats, full beards, and flash full clips and AK's.....

The poppy farmers will be fine, the end product is mostly for export, is taxed by the Taliban and harms the infidels, this pleases Allah. Whilst the hashish farmers will be targeted as it is mostly for home consumption and displeases Allah.
Proper observance of the Sharia will see a return to beheadings, stoning to death, limb amputations, canings, homosexuals killed by being thrown off high buildings.
In short a return to that golden age of the 6th century, albeit with Chinese solar panels powering the irrigation pumps for the poppy fields.

In other news Sunday dump for ants. Back to $47k.

I was wondering if there's a category of people who support the vaccine, as naturally intrigued by research projects and public experiments, but chose to abstain as not getting paid to test new medical research?

I've otherwise stayed out of the debate for a while, just listening to friends who say they will never get it and we need to fight, as well as others who claim I am dumb for not having it already. Truth be told, my main argument for not getting the vaccine is my sock draw is always a complete mess. I have to keep rearranging it with thinner socks at the front for the warmer weather, but with access to thicker socks for work and gardening. It's a real nightmare to be honest and is a lot of maintenance for me, it's meant I simply haven't had the time to join this research project. That and the day I genuinely considered having the vaccine - "the day" as others put it - a beautiful butterfly landed on my knee (that was dirty from soil work) and with persistence decided to clean me while gaining sufficient nutrients, or so I assume. I tried to deter this creature but they were so persistent and determined so I gave up. It completely distracted me from thinking about taking the vaccine, and personally haven't thought about it since.

I otherwise support everyone who has become part of this experiment, I genuinely salute you all! Medical advancements are needed, and this is a very well controlled study with an amazing sample size. I look forward to the continued results of this experiment in the coming years. Naturally I'm skeptical with any untested medicines/vaccines that haven't gone through the test of time, at least 2-3 years but realistically 10 years for the full research to be discovered.

If you're part of the older generation then for sure you have nothing to lose, but personally, I feel I've still got a lot to live for. None the less, I appreciate all of you who are vaccinated for being part of this study so I don't have to  Smiley

I'm glad that you listened to the butterfly! Cheesy Cheesy

Also, the vaccine is way beyond experimental. It is a death sentence for those who have it. It will not come immediately. But I already know like around 7-8 people that got cancer after they got the shot.  Roll Eyes  Roll Eyes

(the Cancer is not because of the shot directly, but because the shot makes your body to be drained of vitamins, and then the diseases start coming for you when you have a weak immune system.)
(also... you can check out that Vitamin C guy on youtube that cured his stage 5 cancer a week before he was sentenced to death by PhD's.)  Grin  Grin

hung hanged by the neck until dead
Paintings are hung.
Men are hanged.
Good of you to point that out, on a forum where for many posting here, English is not their first or even second language.
Please no grammar police in WO.

Actually, I like it when people point out my mistakes like that, thet's how I learn.
Since English isn't my first language I'm grateful to people pointing out errors, it makes my English better.
I had for example no idea about the above difference between hung and hanged, now I know.

Fair comment!

I'm just having a break with coffee and a Danish I think called Fika in Sweden, while deciding whether to treat a crop today, with the risk of rain or wait until tomorrow. Your English language skills are excellent.

Is proudhon the father of gembitz ?
Nope proudhon is proudhon.
Consistent and to the point.
I am torn between believing he is just very sarcastic and humorous, and at times he can be very funny, or just a bear troll disillusioned with Bitcoin because of his past losses. Either way he is an essential part of the WO ecosystem.

wife has a kindle. it works but its part of the amazon ecosystem that im trying to distance myself from. you know for sure your kindle is reporting back everything you do with it, the Nook, not so much. at least from what ive read on the matter. ive also read (not confirmed it myself) that amazon can change the text of your ebooks on the kindle and also remove them arbitrarily. this was a while ago, maybe its true maybe not.
They can change the text but they will not because the author of the book could sue them for changing their rightful property. Amazon are a marketplace and the authors sell their creations on it. The only way Amazon could change the book contents legally is if the author went through Amazon's book publishing otherwise they would open themselves up for legal battles.

interesting.. so (say) the government could mandate that history books that you bought and own on your kindle can be "revised" - just pressure the author or whatever.

no thanks.

whats on my Nook never changes. my history and scientific stuff will never be "improved" to match the current political climate.

The reason that I prefer the physical books and some newspapers in my library, is they cannot be revised.
History especially is being continually revised to change inconvenient facts that contradict current ideology.
A recent read of George Orwell's 1984 is even a more accurate vision of the future (2021) than when I first read it in 1970.

Could there be a correlation between the progression of the talibans on the liberation of Afghanistan and the price of BTC? Who knows...

Just a text book dead cat bounce. Scheduled dumping will soon commence. See you at 4 digits.

Would be delighted if you'd just fuck off and only come back to post here when we hit $9600 to tell how you've bought in with a $100.

In the meantime we've got lakes, ranches, farms, seasteads, Lambos, John Deere and fine dining to attend to.
