New P2PolyMYR update: http://myriadplatform.org/myriads-p2polymyr-now-supports-sha256d/

Also, Dogecoin merge mining coming soon.

Furthermore, we have a brand new dev making a Windows GUI for our Simplicty miner. This will make it much more marketable and easy for brand new, technologically illiterate users to use without feeling intimidated by command prompt boxes.

If anyone knows any good animators/graphic designers that can make some sweet "mining animations" to make the GUI nice and flashy for the users, we could really use you, too!

Even furthermore, we should be getting an Electrum wallet update in the near future.

Updated with blake 256 coins. Would MM CryptoNote coins be useful?

They would be useful to add, yes.
171  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoin Merged-Mining ChainID Registry on: September 04, 2014, 05:38:55 PM
Awesome stuff. Is the purpose of this to have some type of universal language for merge mining children?

What happens if two coins happened to choose the same ChildID without knowing?

I would like to buy more myriad cause it's cheap but when I do the math taking into account the max dilution the market cap is actually huge compared to other similar coins so it's actually a very risky bet to buy a lot at this level.

I don't understand why the devs here don't remove this big risk by cutting the inflation and especially the max cap - max dilution.

Until then I'll just keep watching and add on any continued big dips.

Cheers!

Market cap is what matters.  Similar with stocks.  # of shares * price/share.  Twitter is valued at $30B.  Priceline at $65B.

Not fair to compare to stocks?  Myriadcoin is a cryptocurrency/currency.  Bitcoin's current market cap is $6B+; Litecoin is $125M   and  Myriadcoin is $125K.  Multiply our current valuation by 10x and Myriadcoin is still WAY undervalued for the amount of development and honesty and fairness that this coin offers to everyone.

In 2 years; if Myriadcoin hits $1/MYR; market cap is still less than $2B.  I'll be a rich guy (if I don't sell most of my coins).  At 10cents/MYR, I won't be complaining one bit.  Heck even at 1 penny  I would surely be thankful.

IMHO; if cryptocurrencies become mainstream (accepted by main street), then the valuations above are possible.  The number of coins we have are perfect for currency usage.  The block time we have is perfect for daily transactions.  I think there's room for more than 1 cryptocurrency to support the global usage/commerce.  I wish for Bitcoin to succeed and be accepted.  I wish for Myriadcoin to also succeed!  Go Myriadcoin!  A coin for everyone.  Peace.

Thanks, palawan. I don't know who you are or where you came from, but a level head is nice. Especially here on bitcointalk. Smiley

also as far as merged mining in myriad children is concerned will the original algos only be able to be merged mined via Myriad? it would be preferential for the very long term 10+ years after block rewards are 0 + tx to have the children be merge minable only through myriad and not able to be specifically minable through one of the 5 algos.

(that way if you want to use for example sha256 to get myrchild J you would have to mine the original myriadcoin itself.

additionally the rewards of merge mining myrchild A and B dont have to decrease as you go down the line (shown in the infographic)

you can get the merge mining rewards of 200 for myrchild A and 200 for myrchild B instead of the rewards dissipating having myrchildren going down the line of A1-A2-A3

although this would be fine we need to keep in mind that the original coin (Myriadcoin) should be positioned to have much more incentive to mine and get the merge mining rewards of myrchildren down the lines of

A1 (200) -A2(75) -A3(25)

B1 (200) -B2(75) -B3(25)

C1 (200)

--

Does that make sense to everyone?

Ill also post on reddit for better discussion

I think you could check whether or not the block is being solved with auxPoW or not. If it is mined directly (not through auxPoW) couldn't the block rewards be set to 0 in this circumstance and deterring anyone from mining the coin directly?

and no because there will be many branches from myriadcoin itself. all of which can be mined with by mining myriad. reward decrease could be linked to the next coin in the line to decrease accordingly as well making all MM coins BW decrease all the same proportion as the original myr algo.

What happens then if the Multi-Pool still wants to attack and keeps switching back onto Myriadcoin? Say they did this for a day. The whole day they would render Myriadcoin's Scrypt block rewards to 0 for the entire day!
even if someone used a MASSIVE amount of electricity and developed a program to wait for difficulty to lower down then mine 0 0 0 0 0 0 0. how long until that person runs out of money? he will also have to do this for 4 other algos.

not to mention block reward is normal for subsequent blocks of equal or less difficulty % change. the attacker cannot do this forever eventually he will reach his full hashing power.

to answer your next questions.

-even if our total network hashing power for 1 algo lets say scrypt rose to above litecoin's, we CANNOT guarantee that a massive and hightech MP would come along with the same hashrate ratio to ours 100-1.

-no because continuing to dominate 1 algo would just result in normal block time and massive time mining wasted at a tremendous hash rate. cannot be sustained for a long time without going bankrupt by attacking a strong blockchain... right now we are still where we were 4 months ago when I sounded the alarm. i want you to imagine how frustrating that is.

ive seen steps ahead of this no one gives a fuck
figure it out yourselves or dont a fuck i could give not.

ill be away for a little while. ive had enough
We aren't in crisis mode. Nobody said your ideas were shitty. All I'm telling you right now is any 'fix' that you or anyone has should be coded into a fork of MYR and launched as a child coin. We can then observe if the desired effects actually work on not.

Hey guys, I just updated the new bountyboard that I made. I don't think it was mentioned here:

http://birdonwheels5.no-ip.org/myriad-bounty

I updated it to show who's working on the claimed bounties.

Also, I did a bunch of work with my web services, so that you don't need to use non-standard ports to access them. Everything can be found at the Insight block explorer @ http://birdonwheels5.no-ip.org

Enjoy Smiley

Nice birdonwheels! Maybe you can clarify this one a bit:

Quote
Algorithm Monitoring Dashboard

Algorithm Monitoring Dashboard that datamines all current algorithms used by coins but not used by Myriad

I don't know either, I just grabbed some of the bounties from the old board that I thought were still active. What I think that one is asking is to write a program that keeps track of all altcoins, and report which algorithm they use (Maybe so we can see which algos are most popular?). But you'd really have to ask Neuro about that one

It was an idea of mine when I first got into Myriadcoin. The idea was to create an algorithm monitoring dashboard that acquires 'big data' on algorithm dynamics in the cryptocurrency space.

Examples:

-What algorithms are the most popular in terms of overall hashrate among all coins?
-What algorithms have the highest hashrate/coin ratio?
-What algorithms are used the least? What are used the most?
-What algorithm hashrates suffer when a new algorithm is implemented in a coin?
-What algorithm hashrates are declining and which ones are rising?
-Can we derive any multipool information from total algo hashrates?
-Which algorithm hashrates appear to be mostly a 'fad' while others have had continued success since their creation and integration into altcoins?

Why have something like this? It was originally my goal to have proper data to back up any decision we make regarding algorithm replacement in Myriad's core 5 algorithms. The idea of replacing one of Myriad's algorithms has sort of died and I'm not even sure I'm a fan of it myself, but perhaps we can still use this type of information to decide which algorithms to implement when we create our multi-vpow experimental child coins.

I think it's a fancy idea. Nothing exists like it. I don't even think I can anticipate all the resourceful information we can extract from it once its created.
