I feel frustrated reading this airdrops, excluding "newbies"... Undecided

Don't be frustrated since getting your profile up is only a matter of activity, quick and fast!
Plus you are almost there, keep up the good work and you'll get the airdrop!

I can feel it in my bones this one is gonna be big.

A community is the most important feature for a good brand nowdays.

Look at this one in 3-5 years....I know sounds like  lifetime in crypto but will be worth the ride/wait.

gr E

I totally agree with this reasoning. We are all tempted to go for the quick profit but in the end, this is not how the big money is made.
Seems to me that there are no other ways to go but money management, to plan for the short, middle and long term.

Airdrops might typically be a long term move since it didn't cost anything but time to get the coins!

We can all relate to those who waiting a few years for bitcoins, ether, dash or stratis like coins!
Let us be the community that support this awesome project, and be there when it goes to the moon  Grin
163  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] TIMEREUM (TME): First manually mined smart contract token. on: July 25, 2017, 10:24:55 PM
The Timereum introduction video is here:

Thank you to Nagatraju for making this. There will be video tutorials with specific examples coming soon as well.

This is interesting video to make clear the concept of this project but people need more videos like tutorial to mine this coin. Any update about exchanges when it will be functional for trading.

Once people figure out how many coins will actually be in circulation I guess the urge for an exchange will even increase.
Over 2400 pairs x 1250 coins (assuming on average all pairs mined at least once, noticed the offered genesis account was already mined 10 x), means people will take 3mio coins to the exchange. Minereum has 700k coins in circulation and exchanges for roughly $2 so we could expect a first rough trading value of $0.40 per TME coin. Less then 3mio coins is always a lot better but then there is a huge risk of inflation if each year the total number of coins in circulation is increased by >4 mio. If everybody holds on to their coins for a while the inflation will be huge at the end of the 10 years period :-) So it's not only mining but also gambling to a certain extend on what others have done in terms of bringing coins into circulation.
Just keep track on the coins in circulation vs. the maximum hypothetical amount of coins and you know when to sell basically to beat rapid inflation :-)

Minereum's mining process is fixed by day and still it suffers some inflation in periods that the trading levels are low. Imagine what would happen if TME trades at 5$ and all miners think that's a nice price to bring additional coins to the market?? That's a huge risk for holders of TME that do not have mining capacity since they did not participate in the airdrop.  Smart people will eventually figure this out but I think it's also a task for the community to really temper your greed when trading starts to prevent hyper inflation in the incubation period of TME

O yeah, if everybody mines 10 batches now there will be 30 mio coins in circulation and that would be the max.

0.40$ per coin at the start? No way, u have no idea how many people would insta sell their 12,5k coins for 5k$. Anyway i hope i am wrong, but starting price really doesn't bother me, cuz i am here for a long term.

I agree. I'm thinking .02 cents at the most to start off with.

No one trully knows what the starting price will be. The concept is sure interesting enough to let it be like a retirement plan of some sort.
Imagine really leaving all your coins in the wallet and waiting 5 to 10 years, then wake up to a 10 dollars ore more coin? would be nice huh?

165  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: There is no doubt that the crypto world is a game of the big whales on: July 23, 2017, 09:44:01 PM
As many of us has experienced it and learned from it,

Market dump is usually first caused by said whale, then the stop loss orders hit, and then the inexperienced trader panic sells.
After that, the whale buys back.

We are all responsible for these types of movement on the market
166  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] DeepOnion TOR Integrated, No ICO/Crowdfund, Free Airdrop 2nd Round Jul 28 on: July 23, 2017, 09:37:46 PM
I told many friends about the airdrop, but most of them were a bit annoyed about the 10 post requirement each week. I understand that you want people to see the closing line, but even with a short post that would goal would be satisfied.

any comment on this from the team?

If the only thing required is 10 posts a week, don't you think it is not that much of a commitment to get the airdrop?
167  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: EOS ICO SCAM 👺👺👺 Wow! Can you believe this? 👺👺👺 on: July 23, 2017, 06:31:55 PM
People,

For now in a purely scientific point of view, the only thing that can be stated is that investing in EOS is highly risky due to a large number of factors that make it look like a scam.
Stating that "this is a scam" means that you have ways to prove the deceptive nature of the project, which none of you can as of this moment.

Investing in a project where nothing has been created yet is a choice. A project where the platform is not done yet is not necessarily a scam.
A 1 year ICO is a choice, with advantages and drawbacks. It does not make it a scam by nature.

Let us all be really scientific about our observations and state facts.

What if it doesn't turn out to be a scam? "Well it sure looked like it!!!"
What if it does turn out to be a scam? "Well, told you so !"

Not really the best wayto approach an analysis right?
168  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] DeepOnion TOR Integrated, No ICO/Crowdfund, Free Airdrop 2nd Round Jul 28 on: July 23, 2017, 11:46:57 AM
Signed up for the Airdrop and went through the tutorial to sync with the network.
Awesome work dev team!
169  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Tokens below their ICO price on: July 23, 2017, 11:02:17 AM
Those recent project raised enormous amounts of money, which lead to a post launch dump.

I do believe this trend is increasing for now : first you have the FOMO with the promise of immediate profit, then the coin hits the exchange and many investors dump the coin leading to a decrease in price.
Does it start to show the limits of a model where no ICO CAP is fixed?

If we start to think that the price will fall after ICO, why would people buy during the ICO?
If you do put limits to the number of investors, then all the people who want to join will be there right after launch, boosting the price and stabilising it (at least).

What do you guys think?

Any projection for TEZOS, the record holder?
170  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The scams are coming!!! on: July 23, 2017, 10:56:58 AM
Unfortunately I'd say it is part of a learning process to understand where to invest and where not to.
If you don't do your due diligence and invest without any process of verification or research, then it is as good as playing at the lotery.

We all started without trully understanding what we were doing, and we learned.

All this means that scam ICO's with a very cheap presentation and no effort whatsoever to present a well structured and organised project will not bring sizeabl/experienced investors.
They only endanger the newbies that have to learn before investing efficiently..

We can warn them and help them, but not do the work for them.
171  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Identifying profitable ICO on: July 23, 2017, 10:47:34 AM
What would be nice is to push the analysis to a scientific level.

Summarizing the parameters that are needed to project the possible success of an ICO may not be enough if you don't know what to look for.

In this case, you listed the successful ICO's, what has to be done now is reverse engineer the project in order to understand WHY it has been successful.
Then you can identify the common traits, key parameters between all these project and propose like a "guideline".

What do you think?
172  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Any new airdrop coins? on: July 21, 2017, 05:09:40 PM
Didn't know this very useful site!

Thanks for the tip, this will allow me to follow the upcoming airdrops!
173  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which ICO do you regret participating in the most? on: July 21, 2017, 02:23:14 PM
Not really useful to "regret".

If anything else, I failed ICO is an opportunity to learn from it, to analyze why you chose to invest in it. Was there any way to see some indicators showing a risky investment?
Just taking some time to learn and be better for the next one seems to be the best way to move on!
174  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] æternity blockchain ∞ GET AE TOKEN ∞ [PoS x PoW | Smart Contracts] on: July 19, 2017, 08:25:35 AM
For all the investors :

For being part of a team that is currently releasing a coin, I can tell you that none of the "release the coins NOW" are helping in any way. Moreover, it sounds off to speak to the devs by giving them orders.

1) Either you decide that this project is a scam, and at that moment no point in yelling
2) Either you dedice the project is solid, and then why the rush?

Investing is always about patience and delicate money management. These 2 qualities are just mandatory for success.

By saying "release the coin now" you show impatience which is probably your base of decision. It will not help any of you or the devs.

Another point I'd like to clarify : The project holders are here for long term, to maintain the project for the years to come. Releasing a product too soon can have devastating consequences, especially if the coin is already on an exchange. The devs simply have no choice but to hold off the release until the project is deamed "good enough" to say the least.
This decision will be made whatever the investors say, for the aforementioned reasons (to ensure quality and duration).

Again as you understand, "release the coin now" is plain irrational. if they did it while the coin is not ready, the project is over or significantly damaged. At that point, everyone will cry of course "why didn't you hold off the project?"

Communication wise, with a "release the coin now" attitude, nothing they can say will ease your impatience, just because the problem is your impatience.

Follow the slack channel, the telegram channel, the annoucements here. Either you have faith in it or you don't. If you do, then just go do something else. Good things come to those who can wait right?

My 2 cents contribution here
175  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][KMD][dPoW] Komodo - Zcash Zero Knowledge Privacy Secured by Bitcoin on: July 11, 2017, 08:41:14 AM
what lj think about this situation? Would be intresting know a veteran posistion
I didnt get overly excited when KMD price doubled overnight and also not overly worried if it drops 50% in a day, especially when it is an across the board altcoin to bitcoin shift.

BTC percentage was around 60% prior to the start of the altcoin revaluation and dropped below 40%. Now it has climbed back to the sustainable 50% level as the market is pricing in a solution to the BTC blocksize.

KMD rank is right around #35 as it has been for months, so the price is just going up and down based on the entire BTC to altcoin ratio. Since liquidity for BTC is a lot larger than most altcoins and certainly KMD, any significant shift will affect altcoins and KMD disproportionately.

Let us put it in perspective. KMD price is over 10x its market low price, the fundamentals havent changed from yesterday to today, the price change is a market sector change, so stay calm. Of course if you are a short term trader and bought in at significantly higher prices... It is very risky to be short term trading anything, especially crypto. If you cant hold a position for one year+ (or longer if a bear market makes an appearance), then you will need to have very good market timing, excellent money management to minimize risk, nerves of steel, automated systems to either wake you up while you sleep or actually trade, if the latter it has to be a bug free system. So, the odds that you can actually consistently make money doing short term trading is rather low. The buy and hodl requires much less work. Just need to notice significant changes in the fundamental prospects of a project.

The people that make the big money in crypto, are the ones who identify promising projects relatively early and hold for a long time. That way, when the big spike up happens, you already have it. Also, if you are clever, you can accumulate when there is blood on the streets (everything on CMC is red) and have a lower cost basis.

Anybody that did not expect such days for altcoins has not analyzed the recent shift from 60% to below 40% of BTC dominance. I was not surprised it happened. Of course I dont know when it will happen, just that it would. Now that BTC is at 50%, that is the traditional market dominance of the leader that is long term sustainable as long as it doesnt do something really counterproductive. Depending on the resolution of the segwit2x/Aug 1, BTC will move significantly unless the market prices it in exactly correctly. This means it is not going to be easy to know about likely prices until after it is resolved.

Once the BTC situation is resolved, then I think altcoins can go back to a more normal trading pattern. I will just continue to improve the barterDEX tech and actually I am starting to think about the next phase for the core. I too am eagerly waiting for GUI like all of you.

Hey JL777,

Quite an analysis you made even if all these are obvious for experienced traders. The post is clear and has a unique "calmness" that will ease the unrest felt by many of those who read it. Like you said, real money is made with patience and long time investment.

The short term game can only be profited from with a solid money management like you said, stop losses trailing stops and what not. But that's mainly for a quick buck.

As adoption is main target for a project like Komodo, focusing on that aspect and developing the project to a point where mass adoption happens will bring investors and make the price rise.
You probably already have a solid roadmap for that purpose.

Let us all ease up, not panic sell and focus on what is important : if you believe in the potential of crypto, you know that it will rise back. This mean that there is no loss until you sell your positions.
If the downtrend continues, might even be a good thing to add more capital and buy ultra low.

What goes up must go down
But goes down will go up

176  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICO] Minexcoin - A new era of payments (ICO closed!) on: July 09, 2017, 09:30:04 AM
I think they need to rest to have peaceful mind. So that they can fix those bugs.

They are requesting help from other developers that are familiar with bitcoin source code.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1942210.0

So, it means they don't have "enough" skilled developer and tester to the same they had promised and brought the ICO for.
Wow. I am living in the paradise. Angry

This is another "bounty" type work that was written in the whitepaper and bounty specs from the beginning. We are merely following through. Bug fixes and compliance to specs is a natural part of a project

178  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Altcoin pump groups on: June 25, 2017, 02:45:47 PM
They'll buy the coins before they ask you to pump and then dump on you when the group pumps  Grin

That's exactly my thought and when you analyse the graphics (say eboost), the price already went up from 0.000043 to 0.00013 BTC / EBST 1 min prior to annouced pump.
Which is very probably them, they got a guaranteed x3 + of course the fee you pay for entering the group. Playing it safe, they probably already sold before anyone.

Of course those that buy at +700% are the people they prey upon.

"You have to be fast" = it's your fault if you mess up => making sure everyone thinks that Cheesy

I'd be very cautious with all this. In the regular market, it's called insider trading.

179  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICO] Minexcoin - A new era of payments (ICO started!) on: May 17, 2017, 06:17:26 PM
Why the name change to Minecoin all the sudden?

Kind of confused when it happen this morning. Undecided
Also is  the representative responding here if any thing we would like to know about?
Is also a little concerned with this as well.

Supercops:

Minecoin was the first name of the project a few months back. Since it interfered with some already used names, it was changed to MinexCoin. Nothing shady about it, you can see both sites Smiley.

The representatives of the project respond here of course on slack and on telegram.

I am also deeply involved in the project and will be here for you.

tell me, What do you want to know?
