161  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC price moved by emotion and mood! on: May 25, 2018, 11:27:33 PM
What do you think about this? What would be its effect???
Do not worry much about it because those who enter bitcoin market by emotion and mood are only noobs here to get rich quick but in reality, they can't without a proper strategy of investing into it. It wouldn't have its long-term effect because bitcoin has real world use cases that institutions are looking into right now but hopefully, they will stop doing it soon because entering the market by emotion is not healthy for the crypto market in general.
162  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Lots money invested on cryptocurrency, should I sell for liquidity? on: May 25, 2018, 10:48:08 PM
At this situation, What you will do?
If it is not an emergency related to health or something that you cannot solve without money, then I would sell some of my coins for liquidity(coins that will give me enough money to solve the problem at hand) and leave some of my portfolio untouched. I also advise that you don't take a loan if you can solve your problem using your current stash. Taking a loan from others isn't always a good option as it might bring you problems afterward.
163  Economy / Economics / Re: Philippines Welcomes Fintech Companies on: May 25, 2018, 11:31:50 AM
I can see that this is the beginning of Philippines' adoption to crypto currencies and related technologies as a "side effect" of our government's effort to attract investors for a win-win co-operation.
It really is a win-win situation. What's more is that they are planning to open up fintech university that would allow locals to work for the company and other filipinos to get a blockchain degree in their college according to one of the articles that you have linked. I wonder though, will their exchange services beat the current leading bitcoin to Philippine peso exchange coins.ph? Even if it won't I am expecting a lot from it as a Filipino.
164  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Binance Academy on: May 25, 2018, 07:53:03 AM
are the classes going to be held online or there is a dedicated venue where the classes will be holding?
Classes will be held online according to this article in medium. IMO, it would be better if they rather plan to open up a real academy that focuses on the study of the utilization of blockchain and a degree that comes along with it(Maybe something like Bachelor in blockchain engineering) than making it online.
Is this going to be a free academy training or will people have to pay for it?
Do you think people will use this servce/pay attention to it?
According to the same article linked above, it will be free and all video tutorials will be user made. Since it is a free service, I think people might consider taking a look into it.
165  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: I'm trying to buy some bitcoin or litecoin on: May 24, 2018, 11:27:51 PM
The best way to buy bitcoins and litecoins in the middle of nowhere is via credit card but that might not keep you anonymous. In what country do you live by the way? Buying bitcoins and litecoins can differ from one region to another(because in some countries buying is easier) and other users can give you a more efficient way to do what you wanted to even if you are in the middle of nowhere.
166  Economy / Economics / Re: Us government has start probe in manipulation in value of cryptocurrency . on: May 24, 2018, 10:34:48 PM
But the US govt can't control every exchange, especially the ones out of The US which have nothing to do with the SEC or CFTC
I think they are just wasting their time trying to control every exchange. Instead of probing into the so-called "illicit tactics" of crypto traders, why not they track down "scam ICO's" first? Why focus on "ilicit tactics" when they can easily formulate a more strict regulation or implement regulations on crypto to fiat transactions that will help them limit the capabilities of what they refer to as "Illicit traders"?
167  Economy / Speculation / Re: Korean virtual currency was ransacked, Bitcoin price dropped $ 9,000 on: May 24, 2018, 11:41:59 AM
What is your thought?
Too bad for those who lost their bitcoins when korean exchange was ransacked, that's why experienced users stronly advices newbies to not store cryptocurrencies on exchanges even if it is convenient. My thought here is that the dump we are seeing now is merely a correction, so I wouldn't call it a drop because IMO btc is a little overpriced before the drop. Now, I am seeing a healthier market despite it being priced at 7403$ according to coinmarketcap.
This might be an interesting read regarding this bit of news from OP: https://www.express.co.uk/news/world/914506/Bitcoin-price-cryptocurrency-value-2018-North-Korea-South-Korea-Kim-Jong-un-Ripple
168  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: South Africa Kidnappers demands Ransom in Bitcoin to free teenager on: May 24, 2018, 08:59:22 AM
It might worsen their subjective opinion of bitcoin, but it won't greatly affect us because bitcoin being used for criminal activities(sometimes) is already a well known fact.
This could be a new way for the terrorist groups to obtain ransom fee without getting compromised with their identity.
You might want to read this articles from bitcoin.com, express.co.uk, and coindesk to enlighten yourself. My point here is that it is already being used by terrorist(like ISIS) to fund their terrorism way back January 2018, and it is not a new way for them because they already have used bitcoin to ask for ransom according to another article.
169  Economy / Economics / Re: Jim Rickards: The Empire State Moves Against Bitcoin on: May 23, 2018, 10:26:58 PM
The good news is they can use decentralized exchanges instead to avoid any problem and it's  the best alternative
But the problem is that there is a lot of risk involved when one decides to use decentralized exchanges(because it is not regulated, even the support team of that exchange can support you only a little to recover your funds when lost).
Bitcoin is more like an insurance against a global catastrophe, and it allows you to be in command of your own money, without needing to depend on banks. It will eventually offer you a great way to make payments and transfers, so basically is a great innovation in the financial world, but it should not be a tool to avoid paying taxes.

If people just accepted that, I guess there would be less fear from regulators.
They don't fear taxes, what they fear is the regulators itself. Since it can be used to control your own money, it would be bad if governments around the world decided to ban bitcoin(because it disrupts the current fiat currency and banking system).
170  Economy / Speculation / Re: Possible reduction of price volatility - futures as a balancing factor on: May 23, 2018, 02:01:17 PM
The only way  futures trading  changed the btc prices is that it reduced the btc potential price growth.
How did it reduce bitcoin's potential growth? Like what this statement said:
futures are only limited to a limited number of people from a limited country not the whole world and people aren't all using futures specially because of taxes.
IMO futures is just a means for bitcoin to attract institutional investors that will help reduce price volatility by multiplying bitcoin's real world use cases. Also, bitcoin futures is only a contract used to buy or sell btc at a specific future date and price. It is only like a bet(but removes the risk of holding btc while speculating). It might lessen the demand, but it will not impede bitcoin's price growth.
171  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: LIQUID Platform -- 17 exchanges connected in the same order book on: May 23, 2018, 11:04:44 AM
They have a different strategy: finishing the product then starting the marketing. They don't want hype without a product.

LIQUID is to attract institutional investors (but not only), so they don't need to make mass marketing now.
That's a rare move for an coin developer to not hype their project without product(because most of the coins out there generates a lot of hype first before releasing their working product). That being said, I think LIQUID Platform is a good to invest into, but I don't invest into them because I see more coins with a greater potential for growth than this one. Also, I plan to hold most of my stash for 5 whole years and I doubt whether if it will survive for that long or not.
172  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Would you still support Ethereum, if Vitalik left it? on: May 22, 2018, 11:25:05 PM
Most likely, a sharp jump will not happen. Yes, and Vitalik does not make sense to go somewhere to work. He's a real genius and he doesn't need a job.do you agree with me?
I agree and he is better off with ethereum team than working with google(he will make more earnings that way). Although that is the case, If Vitalik really decided to leave, I don't really care because eth can survive without him IMO(like how btc survived without satoshi) because ethereum, like bitcoin has it's own real world use cases that will surely keep it alive and pumping in the years to come.
173  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Does holding long term can be worthy despite of unpredictable market? on: May 22, 2018, 07:20:51 AM
Holding a coin long term is a good option if you have bought it at a higher price than current price(because you haven't gained anything yet). If you have gained something from that trade and you see no potential for that particular coin to go up, then do not hold, take profit. Always remember that taking profit from coins with low potential is as important as holding a coin with potential(because there is a high risk involved).
174  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What will be the effects of stock exchanges company Opening crypto exchange on: May 21, 2018, 01:58:24 PM
I have researched about it and it seems to be a legit one(since it came from trusted sources of news, specially fxstreet and cointelegraph's report). Them entering crypto space will surely attract more attention from regulators and we might see new regulation laws concerning crypto sprouting one after the other. On the good side, Market cap of all cryptocurrencies, not just bitcoin would be greatly affected as well as their price. It would also bring good publicity for bitcoin and cryptocurrencies.
175  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: CAN RIPPLE STILL MAKE YOU A MILLIONAIRE IN 2018?? on: May 21, 2018, 12:57:44 PM
So in todays topic is ripple can ripple still make you a millionaire in 2018.
How? I think ripple cannot make one a millionaire in the future but it is not that bad of a coin to invest into. In fact, it is still profitable to invest in it, but I doubt if it will do a mega pump to the moon in the future wherein it will reach prices above 4$+ giving way for a new batch of millionaires. Nevertheless, it is not bad to hold it now, and hope for it to go to the moon(because there is still a chance of it happening but it is low).
176  Economy / Economics / Re: Why do we use money? on: May 21, 2018, 10:43:55 AM
don`t we all value time? I actually value my time more than my money
You might value your time more than your money but how will you feed yourself if you don't have it? How will you buy your daily necessities without it? The real reason why everybody use fiat currency is because of it being used by most of the people alive on Earth.
why pay someone to vote for us? why not be paid to vote? and actually have your vote matter and not be able to be bought or bribed, like obama says he will remove all the troops when he got in, then got in and sent more in and did the opposite...
That's politics for you and no one can do a thing about it alone if most of us likes the way it is(particularly elites).
If time is money and for the most part peoples time creates money and gives it a value why not just give people time or have people create there own time? I understand things also cost money but why not assign them an amount of time like a bag of chips is 10 seconds?
so yah, why do we use $? I think money is worse than cancer and is the real problem with our species and its enslaving us all please convince me otherwise
I might not be able to convince you but the usage of money in our society is important because it helps the economy of every country grow. Without a medium of exchange(for work done), then everyone wouldn't work and it would be chaotic. You might say that we can use goods to pay for jobs, but isn't it easier to exchange using fiat currency($)? Also, if people started to create their own time, who would supply the pay?
Would it be easy to create a timed currency using block chain?
It is not easy but it is possible but the pay for each job will still depend on how much the one who hire pays for it unless there would be a general consensus in minimum wage for each job.
177  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Ripple Launches Initiative To Support Entrepreneurs, Businesses Using XRP Tech on: May 20, 2018, 11:07:47 PM
Getting a wider range of audience would benefit both sides, the value of ripple would increase, and the partners would benefit from the low costs and the speed of the transactions.
I don't see how ripple's value would increase if it remains centralized as it is now. I agree though that their move to support entrepreneurs and businesses using their tech is a good move, and proves how serious they are in their project. This would not only benefit ripple, since it will benefit the whole crypto market(because it will help spread good publicity of cryptocurrency in business).
178  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Best Time to Sell Altcoins on: May 20, 2018, 10:14:46 PM
Is there any specific best time for every altcoin and when it is going well and we should sell ??
There isn't any specific time that can be called the best season to sell altcoins because market is volatile and doesn't have patterns on price changes unlike stocks but I think the best season to sell altcoins is near the end of the year because most of the time people tend to sell alts here for btc and then for fiat(because they need it). That being said, it is more highly likely for users to see a dump before the year ends, that's why I think it is best to sell altcoins before the last 10 days of December.
179  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Almost a day i have switched ON the cryptotab in chrome but stil no earning why? on: May 20, 2018, 02:22:32 PM
but can u tell me how on earth one can earn BTC ?
Tyrantt is right but for a more feasible way of earning, I suggest.you just lurk here in the forum and learn things about Bitcoin first. After that, try to learn more about altcoin trading, I assure you that it is more profitable and worthwhile than investing into mining when you only got 1000$ to invest. If you want to start free though, follow my advice, and then follow Tyrantt's advice (do jobs for btc or in real life but invest it into btc later on) before doing altcoin trades.
180  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is the Bitcoin market going to collapse? on: May 20, 2018, 11:00:08 AM
bitcoin and gold are not in the same race to compete with each other.
Are they really? I think gold and btc got many similarities. The most notable similarity gold got from btc is that their supplies are both obtained in mining and is limited in numbers. In due time bitcoin will/might also be used as a medium of storing value, and by that time it will compete with gold.
I just observe that every time there is a price down trend many posts or subject for posting are saying and asking the same line as this " Is bitcoin going to collapse?"
Don't mind them because most of those who ask that question are total newbies in crypto space that have invested in btc because of the get rich quick hype that was started when bitcoin have drastically risen from 1000$ to unimaginable prices now or users who intends to spread FUD.
