1601  Economy / Economics / Re: Different online business we can involve in on: November 22, 2020, 06:06:14 PM
Among all these, one that I can clearly see booming right now is the graphic designs, as more people now are engaging and transitioning to online such as businesses, existing and start-up businesses needs a graphic design, let's say for example in making their first logo or modifying their existing logo, menu layouts of their services, and art posters for unique designs. How about you guys? what do you notice from your place?
1602  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Real purpose of Bitcoin on: November 22, 2020, 04:59:22 PM
As of now? We cannot stick to the sole purpose of bitcoin being a currency for peer to peer transaction, I know you know what I already want to imply, you can just ask yourself why you are not spending your bitcoins in your wallet, that's how simple the answer to this question. It's inevitable for a currency built in decentralized network to be this way, people are not silly to pay transaction fees to use bitcoin as their daily driver when you can just use cash directly to everything.
1603  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ETH ideal transaction fee using MEW? on: November 20, 2020, 08:21:50 PM
I've been using MEW for a while now since I started trading in uniswap, I'm paying for like $2 or less in a normal transaction $100 to $200, I guess it's quite good for the fee though, but there are times that transaction is ridiculously high af, perhaps your problem has something to do with your gas, tryna max out the funds, there should be a button "max" beside the amount input, by that it'll automatically set to the max amount you can send.
1604  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A gambler living in England makes a $5M bet on Trump on: November 20, 2020, 08:02:57 PM
That's a huge loss, imagine there's someone who bet Trump with the amount of $5M it seems that the gambler was trusted too much and be confident that Trump will re-elect but the result is Biden was won and elected as the US president. Very lucky to those who bet with Biden, they are now happy to have their winning profit from betting.
It really is, he might have been blinded by the x3 payout, " he went all-in after consulting to trump insiders " Now I'm thinking what he have known to bet that huge. Betting $5m in politics is unfamiliar for me, I thought it was just a local p2p bet, he also might consider that Trump won the last election with a huge odds. Too bad for him  Tongue

To the bookmakers that allow betting presidential results, pretty sure they also earn profit from having a huge fee for those who have win.
What if Trump won? are they gonna pay ?
1605  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Not Sure On Whether To Buy Crypto Or Not? on: November 20, 2020, 07:07:31 PM
Well basically being uncertain is what gives the crypto more power these days, number of uncertain people with their decision is increasing getting their small portion of doubt be given to the crypto which is a vast gain for crypto. Believe me or not, this is what I really thought of buying crypto back in 2017, I though it was a bubble that would burst after the ATH but it ain't. If you're uncertain over a thing, might as well do it, it is painful to feel regret in the end.
1606  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Miner's fees on: November 20, 2020, 05:11:50 PM
Miner's fees do not dictate the market's movement I think you've got it wrong. Why would people care about how high the miner's fees are when most of them don't even spend it and see it as a store of value? Not a lot of people cares about miner's fees especially when Lightning, Segwit already exists.
Indeed, people these days does not care about this anymore, they already know how things work in crypto and such fees is determined by the traffic, if they see a high transaction fee they'll know that the volume is increasing, vice versa. I myself does not bother anymore with fees, but honestly I won't be paying too much from what I really expected, like 30% of how much I will send.

And also why would the miners collude and increase the mining fees AND make the price crash? Wouldn't they be losing out? What if it doesn't recover? I'm really confused.
This is why they just hold the accumulated fees, not to add the gas in the market when it gets wild creating an average fees.

1608  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Lottery Gambling on: November 19, 2020, 07:40:02 PM
Every country has their own lottery, and this happens to be in the Philippines where I live in, I know this and I buy tickets once in a while not really a fan of it because of the slim chance of winning. If this comes from a lottery agents, those you can see with a stall near in any landmark let's say supermarket, they can be labeled as legal, but those people who has their own paper where they write the numbers those are the illegal ones. Many people are still supporting the illegal side of it because the prize is almost double than the legal ones.
1609  Other / Meta / Re: Phrase 'Bitcoin to the moon' first in 2010 at Bitcointalk forum on: November 18, 2020, 08:55:43 PM
I wish we could still new vocabularies to crypto up til now, it's like creating our own language that a normal person could not easily understand  Grin

wish I could invented my own words, It would be very feels so proud when all people in the crypto space is using it.
1610  Economy / Economics / Re: Mexico's billionaire invests in Bitcoin on: November 18, 2020, 08:08:17 PM
I'm not surprised by these kind of news anymore, it feels like it will inevitably happen as bitcoin continues to soar high people will continue to recognize it as whatever they want to interpret it themselves, whether a currency or investment. I do think the paypal's crypto integration is a factor why people are diving into bitcoin, putting all in to get the ride of new potential ATH this year. Thus, a billionaire buying bitcoin will push some people too. Win-win!
1611  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin as a world power? on: November 18, 2020, 07:07:26 PM
The current world power will not allow bitcoin to become something more than it is now. But it would be interesting to see what happened then.

Anything can happen in the next 10-20 years, who knows about bitcoin at that time, as Satoshi said about bitcoin in 2010; in 20 years there will either be very large transaction volume or no volume. we will find out in 2030.
It'll be in 10 years, but we can clearly see it happening. If people still don't believe on bitcoin despite the price and it's massive exposure on mainstream then they will regret it in 10 years wishing they should've invented a time machine.

Not all governments are agreed to ban bitcoin or legalize bitcoin, like in Japan.
Still bitcoin is untouchable, I didn't see any of countries having a standard or at least metal hand law against crypto except banning it.

If what he meant was bitcoin as the currency that will dominate the world upon traditional fiat currency, it depends on people's choice.
Even if the government ban bitcoin, we can still use it by using a VPN to access overseas exchanges, yet bitcoin still can't accommodate a global scale at one time.
Decentralization might be favorable for all people, who does not want to take care of their own assets?
1612  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Risks Of Bitcoin Going To Zero Has Gotten More Lower Than Ever on: November 16, 2020, 11:26:29 PM
With the current increase in the price brought about by the halving and much leser known factors, it is no wonder that bitcoin was able to secure itself from it's own volatile nature. Though this comes at a cost of course. With this huge increase in price, it will be harder for investors to own bitcoins even when at a dip. And whales would most likely dominate the market. Not to mention the huge transaction fees that this will ensue.
1613  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is not needed but only for investment purposes on: November 16, 2020, 10:55:00 PM
People like me who are in bitcoin because of investment fills up the majority of bitcoin enthusiasts, but that does not mean that that's all there is to it. We have people who found a safe sky at bitcoin because of it's nigh ominpotence when it comes to remittance and security. We also have the visionaries that believe bitcoin is the currency of the future. So don't generalize.
1614  Economy / Economics / Re: Look like covid is over Once we take loans on: November 16, 2020, 10:14:44 PM
Conspiracy theories again and again, despite he fact that millions die everyday because of this stupid virus. But go ahead, exercise your patriotism, don't wear a mask, and become part of the casualties.

COVID-19 is bigger than the vaccines our government's been waiting for. New Zealand for exame had eradicated their cases and is already running stable even without the aid of a vaccine. That is what you call GOOD GOVERNANCE. So next time make sure you vote for someone who understands Science.
1615  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 4% return - compounded DAILY on: November 16, 2020, 09:40:48 PM
Checked it. It says compounded daily indeed but you may have missed something important. It says there that the 4% you're talking about is the annual interest rate. You can withdraw your deposits everyday though for a daily increase of .11% which is not really beneficial. So yeah, you just got bamboozled. Try to read more before letting your emotions overcome your logic.
1616  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gamblers lose more money than win. on: November 16, 2020, 09:14:57 PM
Well this happens a lot because people don't know about a relly important thing in gambling, self-control. When you gamble, you don't just go all in balls-deep into the game. You gotta know at what point would be enough is enough to minimize your losses and maximize your winnings. Peoe tend to forget about that because they keep on thinking that the next try will win them their losses back, but be a little bit realistic. Gambling Agencies won't be in your favor. In fact they will try all means to ensure that their bettors win less.
1617  Economy / Economics / Re: The Difference Between Staking and Investing on: November 16, 2020, 07:03:55 PM
One way or another, staking is first of all an investment in a certain cryptocurrency, and then these coins bring you passive income.
"first of all an investment" Huh seems like you're too expose to DeFi projects that has this staking platform features that generates too much eth fees of course due to the heavy traffic in network lol it'll be passive income if you're staking a decent amount of their tokens, not unstaking every day, pooled tokens is huge and not rug pulling.

Today, investments in cryptocurrencies are very popular, which provide the user with the opportunity to participate in a liquidity pool, as well as in farming. In other words, this is an investment that brings you a constant income and at the same time maintains the liquidity of a particular cryptocurrency.
I've seen a lot of staking platforms failing due to network errors, developers and some members of the team disappears or resigns after the staking platform is launched, they know you guys will maintain the currency and they could just create another project. lmao.
1618  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ESPORTS - predictions and tips (Dota 2, CS:GO, LoL) on: November 16, 2020, 05:58:00 PM
League of Legends

DWG (Damwon Gaming) 2020 League of Legends world's champions recently acquired Kkoma and said goodbye to their pair head coach Zefa and Daeny.
It looks odd to me replacing the head coach of a team that just got won a world's championship that is having a 51-8 run. Kkoma as you guys might not know him, he is the former head coach of the famous SKT T1, having their back to back championship and having a total of 3 world's championship.

What you guys think about this move? Are we going to see DWG in the world's again?
1619  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: HODL ₿itcoin for Life, not for Lifetime. on: November 16, 2020, 05:18:50 PM
-snip-
i completely agree with you, hodl for dear life and not for a life time, and i resonate with your 2017 experience because i was in same dream land thinking it will go even higher, in my case i was holding some alts that did really well back in 2017, i was too greedy or too stupid to sell, or perhaps i was fascinated with the size of my wallet that i forgot to do the important thing Grin, anyways all in the past now,  it is important for us to know and recognize the right time to sell and stop being a life time holder.
Being a lifelong holder will be in vain because no transactions will be made, profit can be taken. Being a good holder certainly has a predetermined target price. Selling part of it and then buying it again would be better because there will be a profit.
I agree on this, being just a holder require less skill than trader but it does not end there, being a holder also requires the capability of knowing when to jump in and out, thus giving every holder to maximize profit from merely buying and selling at the perfect time. Having a target price is a must, not just "I'll sell when it increases" specific target price gives you an ease of mind or giving a kind of regret.

Selling at the highest price is certainly the best point, but we also have to have a sense of complacency with the benefits that have been obtained, if you sell too early then that's what you get. Don't be sorry and don't be too greedy.
Uncertainty with crypto is our biggest enemy, timing is crucial during the bull run, better to sell at your satisfaction, don't run for more, be safe!
1620  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: PayPals Bitcoin is a scam on: November 16, 2020, 04:15:10 PM
I'm really not sure about what you are telling I think you should cite some from the paypal's official terms and condition or any information beside from that youtube video you have linked, but I agree on the fact that you are not able to have your own private key which is mostly like the blockchain wallet.

ya.ya.yo!
This is why reading the terms and condition is a must with these companies  Roll Eyes you cannot do any much if you bought in paypal and suddenly don't want it anymore, once you agreed to the said terms and agreement you'll be caught in disappointment and regret. I thought paypal is doing a good job in integrating cryptocurrencies *facepalm* turns out they are defeating the very essence of it  Cry
