1601  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Confession's of a Bitcoin Botnet coder... on: May 12, 2012, 12:36:27 AM
I'm 50-50 if this story and screens are legit or fake. But many of the less-known facts and tips are legit.

Update: This guy is 100% legit! Moscow never sleeps.
1602  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The 0.4.0 encrypted wallet has been exploited - for sure on: April 19, 2012, 08:22:35 PM
I was thinking about providing dropbox-like services on my servers. The obvious pros over Dropbox are that I'm the only one who can access your files excluding yourself! And I will never ever cooperate with any 3 letter agency under any circumstances, so your CP collection or plans to attack Pentagon with exploding camels will be kept confidential.

There is already 2 year prison time in Latvia for possessing equipment that is capable of changing IMEI codes on phones. So for older phone models COM cable in your apartment is all the cops need to get you in prison.
1604  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Skeleton key? (was: Bitcoin press hits, notable sources) on: April 15, 2012, 12:45:37 AM
The shitty Qt version was the skeleton key in action. Totally changing UI and introducing stability, security and usability issues is the biggest problem. If it works, don't fix it!
1605  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Heads-Up: Bank Fraud Alert on: April 15, 2012, 12:40:58 AM
I would be happy if someone will pay me back the cash bills I lost when I got drunk last night.

The identity verification is only invasion in anonymity on legitimate users, this will not stop fraud. Checked on MtGox and Paxum - they both accept photoshoped files. The bank transactions also should be made irreversible. This will protect exchanges and merchants. The losers who are unable to protect their data and computers will lose their money sooner or later anyway.

If more the ruling system is angry, then even more I'm satisfied. Well done DPR.
1607  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A bit of nostalgia... How did you get your first Bitcoin? on: March 30, 2012, 06:26:14 PM
First multiple 0.05 coins from abusing Faucet
First 1 BTC from MtGox
First 100 BTC from stealing wallet.dat files

Lost all my coins when purchased big order right after the price crash in June 2011
1608  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Version 0.6.0 released on: March 30, 2012, 06:22:53 PM
The address signing is counteranonymous and against initial goals of Bitcoin. QR codes are not used worldwide and will fall in disuse much faster than IrDA links did. I smell feature bloat.
1609  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Diamonds for Bitcoins on: March 28, 2012, 01:06:00 AM
Whats it cost to insure the milky way?

Might not be insurable, as it will come into a collision with Andromeda within only a few billion years. I don't know if the local cluster galaxy repairman can get it fixed.

Expect a high premium.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Andromeda%E2%80%93Milky_Way_collision
If humans will continue to evolve in intelligence in steady rate, after few billion years the galaxy collision can be repaired or even prevented.
1610  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Diamonds for Bitcoins on: March 27, 2012, 10:50:48 PM
Congrats Roger!  Good luck on procuring a ring with bitcoins.  Hopefully a couple years from now we laugh about how it took so many bitcoins to buy a $50,000 ring.

does anyone else see the irony here?  it would take approximately 10,000 BTC's to buy that ring today.  wasn't Bitcoins breakout heralded by the 10,000 BTC pizza?

Spring 2014 - 10,000BTCs

and this:

Spring 2016 - 10,000BTCs

According to this in Spring 2018 for 10'000 BTC you can buy Earth and by Spring 2020 whole Milky Way. The growth of Bitcoin purchasing power does not grow exponentially, it will stop and balance out somewhere.

Because unlike Bitcoins, women are inflationary currency. They are worth less and less over time until the price drops to almost nothing. Cheesy

If you like the woman for her looks, then this is definitely true.

Whereas, if you got a woman who'll stick with you through the thick and the thin (rare), this is certainly not true.

I'm sure Roger's got the latter.  Congrats again, Roger!
The attitude I got from women:

- Why are you spending all day with computer? Are you a admin on deep web forum? You work with other hackers all over the world? Who cares, I better have boyfriend who is DJ in nightclub!
- What are those Bitcoins? Decentralized and anonymous payment system that is not controlled by single entity? I got it, they are exactly like PayPal, only none of my friends have heard about them!

There are few women who like me, but they are too ugly. I better have paid with SolidCoins then these women as a lifetime long partners. So loving the most beautiful girl I know is the best option.

1613  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] Instawallet is back, alive and well! on: March 27, 2012, 06:16:59 PM
Or is all transactions on instawallet logged?
Yes, transactions are all logged by the Bitcoin client itself. <3
The transactions to instawallet was mixed, my coins was transferred to another users account and when withdrawing I received another user's coins. I once followed the transactions of my coins stored on instawallet with blockexplorer.

So chain of transactions with coins purchased with my Mt.Gox account ends up being used to pay for killer wet job instead of buying ganja on SR. And I end up buying ganja with coins that was stolen from allinvain.
1614  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] Instawallet is back, alive and well! on: March 27, 2012, 02:32:00 AM
Can I still use instawallet to anonymize transactions before sending them to Silk Road? Or is all transactions on instawallet logged?

Trollolololol

1618  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Security warning: trojan stealing coins, swapping C&P addresses on: March 23, 2012, 11:04:31 AM
another argument pro aliases

And another reason not to use windows with valuable data...
Any other OS just as vulnerable to trojan horses if users installs the horses themselves.
1619  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Businesses' plans in the event of a raid. on: March 22, 2012, 11:05:03 PM
SilkRoad have possibility to add address in case SR must be shut down and coins sent to owner.

MtGox should not worry about being raided, they already have experienced oral and anal sex with law enforcement agencies of USA.
1620  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Conference in Riga, Latvia 27-28 March on: March 22, 2012, 11:01:46 PM
I have taken a quick search here but see no mention about that. There is conference scheduled to happen in Riga, Latvia on march 27 and 28. Among various sized players in payment card fields there was mentioned Bitcoin Consultancy.

Here is the link in latvian: http://datuve.lv/raksts/5574/Riga_notiks_starptautiska_konference_par_jaunakajam_tendencem_maksajumu_karsu_joma/
