1602  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [PRE-ANN]Crypto Imperator Pure Gold Bitcoin Coin on: July 08, 2016, 12:51:14 AM
Currently:

8 in favor of 1/2 Oz

4 voting for 1 Oz

BTW 12 buyers interested so far...

No problem regarding size and private key Smiley

Looks like we will have to auction all coins...

Do u have a rough estimate on when they will be ready?
Curious to know how long does it take to get a coin ready and of course when to expect it Smiley
1603  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Spells of Genesis - Innovating the Game Economy with BitCrystals (BCY) on: July 07, 2016, 10:31:44 PM
They are releasing a soft launch in August. The full release is in September.

As per All4Games not sure if they can release any info before things have been worked out... Or they don't work out.
The last I remember about it is that they were reviewing legal aspects of it.

It also depends on how ready both sides are for an announcement which may rely on how ready or near launch the game is.

Only guessing here but I trust the team will come forward when they can.
1604  Other / Archival / Re: . on: July 07, 2016, 10:17:59 PM
if i may i would have the suggestion to make more winner positions, there are so many coins now Smiley

I tend to agree, there are 11 prizes so far why not have 11 winners instead of 4?
It's a free raffle not like anyone did anything special to win apart from choosing a spot.

That can cost more in shipping fees for minerjones though, unless the sponsors will take care of shipping.

More winners, more happy people.

Customs fees for gold are huge especially in the UK...
--snip

No, they are shipped from Spain.

Custom fees and VAT will be zero when importing from one EU country to another.

Obviously that could change when UK exit EU, but there is at least 2 years until that, and hopefully will this coin be shipped much sooner.

True that, didn't think about it. But yes for me the cheaper the better Smiley
1606  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [PRE-ANN]Crypto Imperator Pure Gold Bitcoin Coin on: July 07, 2016, 07:29:06 PM
Half Oz please.

Also why does it have to be gold?

Customs fees for gold are huge especially in the UK...
And are you going to insure the delivery which will make it evident to customs how much they should tax?

So half oz is best for me but I rather you use another metal.
Your coins are beautiful irrespective of the metal.
And I would say half BTC as well or less.

But that's me.  Smiley
1607  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [AUCTION] Rare extra-large Bitcoin Block from BTCC Mint, w/ 26+ BTC, NO RESERVE! on: July 07, 2016, 09:13:09 AM

Sorry what I meant to say is this. When I started making physical coins I put my identity on line etc to give people piece of mind and I was only selling small amounts lol. To trust someone with 25 BTC takes a lot of trust. so Why can we trust you? Do you have registered business? Identity of people? Anything?

It's BTC China a renowned Bitcoin Exchange and Miner and now a Mint as well. Bobby Lee, the CEO, is Charlie Lee's brother who is behind Litecoin.

Bobby has been promoting Bitcoin all over China for a long time, he speaks at conferences and events around the world, he is a well known and respected figure in the space.

So I think it's pretty safe to say that they would not want to ruin the image of the company nor their personal image.

Yes they asked for the money before they would deliver. And PMd Smiley

Ah shit! I've asked about another one, if agreed I'm going to ask him to mark it 'Legal Tender' on the package Grin

Good luck, but I really doubt he would do that.  Just can't be putting his business in a strange position if he gets a call from US Customs.

I know there are Gold coins left.  If not, I have a few left. Smiley

Well, there's no harm in trying Wink I've been informed that there's a few left Smiley I understand where you're coming from, especially coming from the US, that there's a good chance he won't.. I'm just trying to work out if they provide good value for money with £300 customs on top.. Huh It doesn't look like it. With minimal fee's, they are a great price though.
Where you located Michail1?

Thing is it will be insured for the value of gold. Nevertheless give it a go see what Tim says.
1609  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [RAFFLE] Chasing Casascius Gold Plated Bar, Provably Fair using Block Hash on: July 07, 2016, 08:56:16 AM
What is the utility of the Counterparty token? Just to have a token? Or will it be usable for something in the future?

Oh and pretty cheap compared to other coins.
1612  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Updated 2016 Casascius Guide (Free eBook) NOW AVAILABLE - 92 pages! on: July 07, 2016, 12:25:13 AM
Thank you for spending time on this and making it available for free.
Shiet, now I have to get all of the Casascius version!!! LOL
1613  Economy / Collectibles / Re: PAPERBACK - Encyclopedia of Physical Bitcoins and Crypto-Currencies on: July 07, 2016, 12:20:45 AM
As promised, I have an exciting announcement!

In honor of the upcoming halving,
I have released an updated 2016 free Casascius eBook, that also contains many additional pages from the Encyclopedia of Physical Bitcoins and Crypto-Currencies. It replaces the Casascius Guide published in June 2014, over two years ago now.
That's over 90 pages of free Content!

In essence, it is a teaser to this book. The aim is to introduce more people t physical bitcoin. It is engineered to get the reader hooked on the subject, but it does not even come close to what is provided in the paid book. Getting more people interested in our hobby is good fr everyone.

That said, spread it!

The eBook is available at www.coinfirm.org

Thank you so much for the work put into this and for making it available for free. That is the right way to spread the love about Physical Bitcoins.
I think I will have to soon get your book as well. I was hoping for the new version (maybe in 2017) if you could make a cheaper paperback version available.
We are all collectors on here so spending $89 or less, with discount, for a book can be justified.
But I was thinking for regular folks and/or youngsters that are interested in BTC having a cheaper option may be great.
You know when you buy a book for someone for their Bday or Xmas or because they have left their day job to work on Crypto full time Wink, your book could make a nice and welcome gift.

With this I'm not saying your book is too expensive at all, from what I heard it is actually well worth the price.
I think the numbers that have been printed make the price what it is and I'm not even so sure if you could print a new 2017 version of it in colour (that's where it costs) at a reasonable price like $20/30.

Another option could be, make the book available as an eBook on the Apple and Google stores and print high quality limited editions for the ones of us that like it printed.
I mean if the eBook sells well it could sell in the thousands which may offset all your other printing costs.
I'd make sure to promote the eBook everywhere I can and if others do the same it could be interesting to see the uptake.

Got mine too! Ouch!

In the UK they come later, but they come. The first shipments where the worse in terms of what was declared.
However care was since taken to make it right as VAT for BTC loaded onto the physical shouldn't be paid.

Aye, looks like this may warrant further investigation and communication.

Ah crap. As we expected Angry How much was your bill coin@coin? I'm UK based so be good to know.

Yep same as vizique, but in my case I had quite a few coins... So it stung quite a bit more even though no BTC value was declared.
Subsequent orders where much better. So should be pretty safe now.

Thanks for that. I remember in 2014 when I purchased 1 of each coin from Titan Mint, so the Titan Tenth 0.1BTC, Titan One 1BTC, Titan One Silver 1BTC and Titan One Gold 1BTC.. Got a bill from FedEx a week after delivery asking me to pay ~£240. I contested it by email, stating they had charged me VAT and Duty on a "Legal Tender" 1oz Gold Coin, which is exempt from such charges Grin I received a revised bill for ~£25 several days later Cheesy So glad that they didn't bother asking for proof that this was indeed a Legal Tender coin!

I tell you what... I just received a Titan Gold, yes there are still few available, dealt with Tim directly, and I had to pay £300 custom duty... Waiting for an invoice so I can contest it too.

Please PM me with the price he's charging for a Gold Titan Smiley
Just do what I did, say you've been charged duty on a 1oz legal tender gold coin, which is exempt, and you should have it removed. I say should because if they ask for proof that this is indeed legal tender, you're probably screwed. Hope you get lucky like I did Smiley
My Gold is currently with monkeynuts, to be sent back for another round of grading at ANACS.

Edit: have you already paid this, couldn't tell from your response Huh If so you may have to ask HMRC for it back which would be more lengthy timewise, and they're likely to be smarter than FedEx and catch you out with it not being legal tender = VAT and Duty being owed.

Yes they asked for the money before they would deliver. And PMd Smiley

Yeah my usual luck! But congrats to the winner!

That coin will be worth millions in the future... Only 3 of them around.

You can retire now.  Cheesy
