1601  Bitcoin / Mining support / Best firmware for Antminer S9 and S9i on: June 29, 2018, 01:51:30 PM
Just wondering what firmware is recommended for the autotune s9 and s9i (if there's a difference even).

I have 13.5 th/s s9 form march batch and a a recent 14th/s s9i

The s9 is running 13.7 solidly but the s9i is just a shade under 14th/s not that i'm upset about that.

Appreciate the input and help, thank you.

Did you think about running the Canaan Moose with that kind of set up? Should be more efficient per TH/s than antminer. Maybe even their single 841's as well compared the 13.5 th/s antminer that's available unless you already purchased your hardware.

Alright here's to you all and a block. Cheers.

If we hit a block in the next day we're still fairly on schedule?
Dunno what "schedule" is with respect to mining, but we're behind in our luck, if that's what you're asking. Maybe try and convince CG to plant more tomatoes.

Well essentially the 5 or so day expected block find CG had posted for us a page or so back now.

@CG, 102 is crazy, 65 is a hot day here. I'll be homer simpsoning it on the couch with a beer. Hoping to leave here in an hour. I'll pour some out for our homies, and cheers to a potential block find and everyone here.

http://www.ordnancebrewing.com/ have the EOD IPA in can at the house. The most "hoppy" beer I've probably ever had.

Sounds great, table for two please. Wink

Not sure what the menu is tonight for us but the wife went from veggie to keto which is good for more shared meals now as a meat eater.
I'll probably be at the grind till late tonight though so maybe a beer dinner. Stupid GMO oversight, I got tasked to email all the buyers. . .. More embarrassing than my tweeting.

If we hit a block in the next day we're still fairly on schedule?

Sad we missed that, broker got the invoice a moment ago. We'll have to contact buyers and soak transaction fees for those who don't want to wait or position funds for another buy.

Thank you.

Well the lamb didn't work the other night but we have beef burgers for dinner tonight.

We made keto pizza with almond flower crust last night. I though it would taste like cardboard but I was ridiculously good. Three slices filled me where I usually eat a whole large pizza almost on my own. The fire pit is slowly happening. We decided to chop a tree down, remove the stump and place the pit there. Just a small tree, I'll have some pics soon when I get more time to work on it. Busy week already. Want to drink that wine damn it!

Seems reasonable I'll just hope people keep clicking my twitter links so I earn commission to buy upgrades. I bought my s9 in January for March which was $2700. ...  might have to wait till resale is a bit higher to feel value. Then if bull hits like LY I'll power on all my s7's if it's worth it.

I thought I got ripped off at 1100 and my power cost per month is 60 buck per S9...lol

Yea, ROI on that S9 has been terrible but that's what I get even placing the order. I wanted in on Oct/Nov when they were still "only" $1400. Learned the hard way, wait for bear to buy hardware. Unless you can really spare it. I was able to finance the $2700 with credit (not recommended) for 12 month no interest. So could be worse, half paid off now. Really happy to have some more hash and be around 50th. Just need blocks, bull, meat and beer. Smiley

1609  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: The Squeeze is comin! [official thread for panicking] on: June 28, 2018, 03:06:10 AM
All the brokers here don't mine but they do buy on these lows.

Didn't BTC drop to 4k earlier this year? Pretty sure there was more trading than order placing that day. One guy is always on Bisq all day like someone in IT playing WOW at work.

I turned the s7's off now but only been mining since late LY. Not sure what the panic is if you have a plan. Then the people here as extremely helpful and I started a sole proprietorship to get some better costs as my small mine grows and search for cheap power.

Well I just got my s9i today. Bitmain is easy to order from they'll let me order some small orders from them but I have to be in office and no beer allowed.  ..

However they didn't allow me to order my own asic. I got the June deal Bitmain had up and they gave me a coupon that was about to expire last minute. It was around $500 with psu and no customs charge. Lots of cheap S9i's out there now.

@cryptosvt- Did you upgrade?
1612  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Mine.Farm.Buy- Asic Hardware Broker on: June 27, 2018, 02:16:30 AM
innosilicon D9 promotional buy one get one is open to group buys.

Split the cost, split the units, mine on.

As well the A9 asic is open to the same offer but due to credit card processing and transfers only open to coin buyers till 6.28.18

Check out our offerings:

A9: www.minefarmbuy.com/shopalt/innosilicon-promo
D9: www.minefarmbuy.com/shopalt/innosilicon-solo-buys

Best.

I might prefer a combination of both, then that's a bit obvious. Thank goodness for some of Oregon's laws.

S9i is arriving tomorrow, which mean I actually have to NOT work remotely . ...

Not planting anything today but digging out a fire pit and weeding. Maybe a maintenance day will help a block find?

Edit for context: they delivered it to the office not my home.
1615  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [∞ YH] solo.ckpool.org 1% fee solo mining USA/DE 250 blocks solved! on: June 26, 2018, 08:56:38 PM
Thinking of point my s7 here, whats the best way to calculate a block find with 4.7th/s.

Approximating avg time to find a block (per bitcoin.it):
Time(s) = Difficulty * 2^32 / hashrate

So, in this case:
Time(s) =  5,077,499,034,879 * 2^32 / 4,700,000,000,000
Time(s) =  4,639,934,532s

Time(y) = Time(s) / 60 / 60 / 24 / 365 = 147.13y

That's obviously a long time.

Since every hash has an equal chance, I believe you can also look at that in terms of probability...meaning you have about a 0.68% chance of finding a block on your s7 in a year of hashing.

"So you're saying theres a chance?"

Thank you jsays, I suppose I'll have to look a power cost now. Since it wont be earning, just hoping for luck.

The pool is consistent and growing steadily, since I've been here say for a very "lean" April. It's hard when whales come in but luck is luck and still other miners are joining to. Regardless the system here is one hash = one hash.

Also I've got some Winderlea 2011 Pinot Noir for our next double block day (work gift). Hope it's soon!

Thanks to you both. They ordered some sticks here from gekko and said I could have them after tech support gets familiar.  Smiley

Very small outfit here, newbie
Mining with an Antminer V9 running at 3T/hs because I'm on 110v (891w)
I run this between 7pm and 7am because the electricity rate is less than half (6.5 cents)
Between 7am and 7pm I run my Gekkoscience gear at 88G/hs
The purpose being to maintain but not add to the value of previous work done
I have noticed herp starts running down.
Is there a minimum hash rate in order to maintain my standing until the Antminer is turned back on at 7pm?
Thanks in advance  Cheesy

12 hours at 3th  + 12 hours at 88gh

= a 24 average of 1.544th.

that is about 48 cents a day

or about 0.00007646 a day

so  you will drop when you are on the usb sticks.

you would average   1.50  if you just mine the v9 for 12 hours.

if I were you I would mine the v9 for 12 hours  here and mine  the usb sticks on solo ck pool.   not here.

Why the solo pool for the sticks? isn't finding a block with 88Gh pretty improbable? (Not arguing, just asking).

Looks like Halong had add some more hash again. 50ph to almost 80 now. Should speed us up by a day.
