1601  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: huge difference in the price of BTCST on different exchanges on: January 14, 2023, 12:01:14 PM
think what you are looking at is NOT bitcoin
but some altcoins/sidechain token phishing to be bitcoin
It is some coin named Bitcoin standard hashrate[1]. Never heard of it before now.

This post could be a scam attempt to attract users to certain exchanges so they can lose their money while trying to gain big from arbitrage.

The forum's search function simply straight-up sucks for 99% of cases. Just use Google.
It could be better, but it is not terrible. I use the forum search engine a lot, particularly when I had come across a post at some point, but vaguely remember some keywords in the title or body of the message and I can efficiently find what I am looking for most of the time.

if you want to search anything in the board you must click on the section that best fits your finding then open before using the search option, most time it gives you quick response than using the general one.
You can achieve this with the forum search and even check multiple boards at a time. For example, if you suspect a thread to have been made about abc topic in Bitcoin discussion or economics board, then you can search for the keywords in both boards and also indicate the time period to search through.

Playstore is not ideal for downloading applications, and always check the permissions requested by any app either downloaded on the official website, or on play or apple store.

Here is a the list of few fake ChatGPT apps on Playstore right now
You are still giving the fake apps some sort of publicity by sharing the links for others to click.

In my country people's fund are going missing in their bank accounts, millions and thousands are gone and there is no single explanation for the reason yet but I believe that downloading unofficial apps an clicking on random links are not safe either, hackers work will be easier this way. Be wise.
Downloading a fake app alone is unlikely to result in loss of millions from bank accounts. You would likely have to take some other sort of action which would expose your funds.

1604  Other / Archival / Re: [ANN] [banned mixer] | Best Bitcoin Mixer | Low fees | Fully automated on: January 14, 2023, 04:17:17 AM
The Yo!Mix site looks very neat and navigable on first glance and what caught my eye the most is the zero tolerance for logs and all logs being deleted after expiration of the order.
It also shows privacy consciousness that any user willing to partner with Yo!Mix only has to provide a bitcoin address and a password, with no intrusive request for an email address or phone number.

Looking forward to testing becoming available, so the community can chime in and work around detecting any bugs or issues.

P.S. mining fees per output address is a dynamic value depends on network load.
That is correct. Transaction fees depend on the network load and also the outputs and inputs involved as well as the type of address creating the transaction.

City having two foul throws in one match and no shot on target tells you all you need to know about the match.

The commentator termed it a dreadful display and it indeed was, there was an obvious lack of desire and hunger leading to them crashing out of the Carabao cup, a trophy they have won multiple times in the past years.

They now need to pick their heads up and find a solution quickly cause a Manchester derby awaits and it is a must win to keep the title race close and close the gap between them and table toppers Arsenal.

Pep would have a lot to do to raise the desire of his players who have seemed complacent for most of this season.

1608  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Something isn't okay with my key on: January 11, 2023, 05:18:40 AM
It is a compressed public key of 33 bytes which is likely to have a length of 66 characters and not a private key, which is commonly 64 characters, but can be less.
In trying to change it to 130 characters, you are trying to convert your public key to an older, uncompressed format of 65 bytes.
Is the prefix of the key you are dealing with 0x02... or 0x03...?

it's an old adress, so is it possible to have only one key operating for public and private?
No, for obvious reasons. Public keys are public and derived from private keys in a one way direction.

Also i still have hella problems to import it, idk what to do anymore.
What sort of problems, inability to send out funds?
Public keys can be used to create watch only wallets from which one can monitor their wallet balance, but cannot sign transactions.

His submission is utter nonsense and it would be better if we the bitcoin community does not publicize it or amplify his voice. There are some links to the reactions from the bitcoin community[1], that would make for a better content to share. There is a handful of them over at nitter[2]

Check rule no. 21 on the list of unofficial rules[1]. The rules on deleting previous bumps is clear there.

As a rule of thumb, besides looking through the forum rules always check to ensure that your activities are not annoying to other forum members.

1611  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2022/23 on: January 08, 2023, 10:16:00 PM
A hard fought victory for Barcelona. My match thoughts were centered on how aggressive Barcelona played against a team that is usually very aggressive in their style of play, beating them at their own game.

Victories like this are pathways to winning titles, similar to how Arsenal over at the premier league have been getting the job done over the last match weeks.

The unfortunate incident at the end was one blemish on the performance as a Barcelona player get a red card in two consecutive games.

1612  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2022/23 on: January 08, 2023, 07:52:45 AM
Atletico Madrid vs Barcelona tonight - One of the biggest clashes in the Spanish top division and the entire football world.

Barcelona have the opportunity to go 3 points clear at the top following the not so shocking defeat of Real. And Atletico have the opportunity to get some breathing space in the race for top four and get some space between them and the team that defeated Real, Villarreal.

Barcelona would have to do without Lewandoski who is still suspenended and the experience of Alba, who is also suspended.

Most bookies favor the league leaders, despite the suspensions and the fact that Atletico are playing at home.

and I am very sure that there was a bear market years back before 2017,
There has been at least 3 bear markets before this current one.

Fast forward to 2023, someone I knew is expecting some kind of a new pandemic to put pressure on the world once again, he believed that the last pandemic was intentional, what do you think?
That is some sensational thinking and without any evidence to support the claim, there is nothing to think about. There are so many personal opinions, but that should not guide your investment decisions.

Right now some people are still waiting for more downside without any DCA so far, this is a very big risk if you ask me.
Timing the bottom is irrelevant if you plan to hold for the long term. We already have discounted prices and with DCA can steadily grow our position.
Your investment decision is yours to make, and is independent of that of others.

Maybe it is for me only but I really careful when explore a new site on my mobile. Because we don't know much about their trust and their website can contain hazardous things which can steal our information on screen, keyboard. My mobile is a device I used to store my 2FA so I don't want it to expose to so many new sites.
I do not think it is possible for a website or app to steal your keyboard information, except your device has previously been infected by a malware or virus. The screen resolution could be used by some sites to bring up pop ups in awkward positions (and make the option to cancel so small), where one can easily click to accept some random suggestion mistakenly as they would by clicking with their fingers.

Not exposing your device to random sites is wise and something I also apply in my dealings with gambling websites.

1615  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Would you change your name to bitcoin for 2000BTC? on: January 08, 2023, 07:00:02 AM
^That was possible back then if Laszlo spend his 10K BTC for a piece of pizza it was also possible for a man to change their name by offering 2k BTC which I think BTC at that is very cheap,
Delivering a couple of pizzas for roughly the dollar amount at the time is way different from changing one's name legally to Bitcoin and is much more commitment. The 2 pizzas for 10kBTC was only ridiculous in hindsight, but at the time, it was a reasonable amount for the effort made.

Would I change my name for 2000BTC today, most definitely who would not?

1616  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Some Gambling Slang and Terms that Beginners Should be Aware of on: January 07, 2023, 10:37:53 AM
Winnings|The amount, in addition to the deposit that was refunded, that was won on a successful bet (profit).|
This definition is dependent on how the specific bookie presents their odds and some readers could be confused when reading it.

If the bookie presents the odds as a multiplier, Arsenal 2.25   Manchester City 2.91
A user who stakes $50 on Arsenal to win would only be getting their wager multiplied by the odds, i.e $112.5, with no refund of the stake.

If the odds are displayed as additions or subtractions, Arsenal -340 Manchester City -300
Here users are rewarded with their winnings and a refund of their stake. N.B, if the odd is negative the initial winning (without the stake) would be lower than the stake, but if positive, it would be higher.

Some odds are even displayed as fractions.

1617  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What are Address Poisoning Scams? on: January 07, 2023, 10:07:59 AM
With the publicity that dust transactions have received over the years, one would think that people would be wary of small insignificant transactions showing up in their wallets and also be more careful when creating a transaction, actually crosschecking that they copied it from the right source and that the entire address corresponds, not just skimming through the first and last characters.

"Safety Measures and What to do Next"
In addition, when possible users should not reuse addresses. Always generating a new unused address each time you are receiving crypto could prove useful.

Remitano exchange is where I do buy bitcoin and sell bitcoin.  Sometimes it is very difficult to have access with this wallet to sell or buy bitcoin,  at times it takes 24hrs before one can logging this exchange.
Why do you use them when there are other options both centralized and decentralized that gives better service?

This should be enough reason why people shouldn't store  bitcoin on exchange wallet.
If not actually owning their assets is not reason enough, they should consider the secondary risk of breaches and hacks.

1619  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Casinos with PSC on: January 06, 2023, 06:42:40 PM
If indeed the casino can be trusted and is truly worthy why not use a deposit or withdrawal method using crypto currency, instead using a method that is somewhat dubious to make a transaction.
Cryptocurrency could be said to be somewhat dubious by some, due to its private nature but this does not make it so, same applies to other payments which have no link to traditional systems.

Welcome to the platform. I see from your post you have a bit experience and looks like you are a trader but unfortunately this board is not meant for this topic.
They probably posted it here cause trust score is not displayed here and the OP has been tagged as a scammer by more than one user[1].
Do not email the scammer or enter any sort of dealings with them.
