1601  Economy / Services / Re: [CFNP] whirlwind.money | Redefining Mixing | Signature Campaign ~Up to $150/week on: April 12, 2023, 02:25:35 PM
Some minor issues with the previous signature design, this new one will work so please once again, update yours ASAP!
Is the term “no fee” correct? whirlwind.money is still working on a fee system, but you can pay 0% to 4%, and the owner of the site has indicated that if sufficient returns are not achieved, the fees will be increased.

The current plan is to leave the fees optional indefinitely, but if we won't generate enough revenue to be sustainable after the first 3 months we will have to implement a minimum fee again.
optional fees or Zero fees

what does “no limits” mean, that is, there are no maximum limits for depositing, or what?

The closest thing I've found is:

This feature was there from day one, it's actually one of the strongest selling points of Whirlwind. You could deposit 1BTC today and get a Note, withdraw 0.1BTC tomorrow and the rest during the next 3 months in 0.01BTC increments daily. There are no time limitations/ maximum number of withdrawals from a Note or anything really, so you are in full control over the process. This makes it impossible for outside observers to link your transactions beyond any doubt.
no time limitations
1602  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Validate a Blockchain Transaction Email Address on: April 11, 2023, 06:55:05 PM
Can anyone verify if this email address is legitimate.
Even if the email is official (which is not,) if anyone asks you for data related to the seeds or the private key, it is scam.
If your transaction is suck, it is better to use a wallet that supports RBF, otherwise you do not need the help of any third party to send Bitcoin.
1603  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: metal wallet and metal detectors on: April 11, 2023, 06:19:30 PM
What do you have to lose if a thief gains access to your hardware wallet?

Decrypting the private key (brute force attack) usually takes several hours, and then you can easily use your seed and withdraw your coins.
You can buy several hardware wallets and load them with zero bitcoins, then you will increase the time that thief needs to access your real coins.

if metal wallet is what excites you, you can try: Stonebook ™ Notebook for Cryptocurrency Private Keys Waterproof/Ghost Pen/Shieldcrypt technology

1604  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Need help finding wallet password. on: April 10, 2023, 03:08:46 PM
If you unchecked  "Encrypt wallet file" when creating the wallet, now you can open the wallet file and see your balance, transactions history and addresses, but you will still need the password for making any transaction. Your secrets like your seed phrase are encrypted.
But how did he manage to know the balance? I thought that the seeds and private keys are encrypted using AES-256-CBC, and therefore if you only have the file and without a password, you will not be able to know your balance.

@OP since you did not use any program to generate a strong password, it is probably one of the passwords that you use most often, or at least part of it.
If you can know the length of the password or exclude things that cannot be in that password, then your options will be greatly reduced.

You can contact WalletRecoveryServices walletrecoveryservices@gmail.com

1605  Other / Archival / Re: Sinbad.io Mixer - secure, fast and easy to use on: April 10, 2023, 12:37:55 PM
Do you own this site? The website design looks professional, perhaps better than the current version.

Code:
sinbadmixer.io

They even have the same minimum as yours. Minimum amount for mixing: 0.001 BTC

So much so that their donation address is
Code:
1SinbadMixdrr5bvxqh3hE5QNoEiX4svGd

Can this be considered a clone site? Since the domain name is similar, but everything is different.
1606  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Looking for information on how to get involved as a Bitcoin developer. on: April 09, 2023, 03:13:38 PM
The Bitcoin Developer website provides a comprehensive guide for developers looking to get started with Bitcoin development, including information on setting up a node and building Bitcoin-based applications.[2]

Do you know of any YouTube channel or videos in series that teaches how one can get started (as a software side, not price analysis or learning how bitcoin works)? I have a basic knowledge of Python Grin.
1607  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Technical help for ELECTRUM wallet on: April 09, 2023, 02:51:38 PM
Hello I have just tried to get my Electrum wallet and got my seed and repeated them...but I could not proceed any further, what is going? Thanks ,Branko Kiric,  kiric.brankodr@yahoo.com
Be careful of people who will send you emails asking for your help or send them seeds, they are scammers.
Try to present your problem here publicly, as everyone will fear for his reputation if he tries to scam you.

If English is not your first language, post in local boards.
It seems that you entered one of the words incorrectly, check it correctly and it will work for you.
1608  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: About Hardware wallet]  I am curious to learn; please help. on: April 06, 2023, 04:51:52 PM
One of the main indicators in suspicious used HW wallets is that firmware is detected without setup, if your firmware is already setup then avoid that device.

The solutions above will solve your doubts about the third party, but if you are skeptical about the developer of the hardware wallet itself, using an open source OS with airgapped devices will give you high security.

1609  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum Lightning Network Transaction Stuck for 3 months on: April 06, 2023, 04:31:45 PM
Did you close that channel before the transaction had confirmed? If this is the case, then send from that address to a different address with higher fees.
If this transaction does not appear, make sure that he did not double-spend it.

Are you talking about this transaction Electrum Transaction ID - Real or Fake ?

1610  Economy / Speculation / Re: What is the Bitcoin (BTC) Halving? Will Bitcoin Price Really Be $100K Next Year? on: April 03, 2023, 07:15:31 PM
It is not a linear relationship between Bitcoin (BTC) Halving occurs and Bitcoin price increase, but its effect on the long term is positive because it affects supply.
In the previous cycles, the price needed about several months before we saw a clear positive rebound for Halving.
do not expect that we will get $100K after a day or a week of Halving, but there is a high probability that we will get it within a year to 3 years after that.
Most people will not read all of the post, there is no need for all these blocks of writing to explain basic concepts that may affect the price of bitcoin.
1611  Economy / Economics / Ditch the Dollar on: March 30, 2023, 04:15:00 PM
Recently, some countries began to use their local currencies in trade with each other. It is true that there was no trade union between these countries, but these movements began to increase. This topic will shed light on some of these countries:

China, Brazil strike deal to ditch dollar for trade

Quote
BRASILIA - China and Brazil have reached a deal to trade in their own currencies, ditching the United States dollar as an intermediary, the Brazilian government said on Wednesday.

The deal, Beijing’s latest salvo against the almighty greenback, will enable China, the top rival to US economic hegemony, and Brazil, the biggest economy in Latin America, to conduct their massive trade and financial transactions directly, exchanging yuan for reais and vice versa instead of going through the US dollar.

“The expectation is that this will reduce costs... promote even greater bilateral trade and facilitate investment,” the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (ApexBrasil) said in a statement.

China is Brazil’s biggest trading partner, with a record US$150.5 billion (S$200 billion) in bilateral trade last year.

The deal, which follows a preliminary agreement in January, was announced after a high-level China-Brazil business forum in Beijing.

Pakistan, China agree to trade in yuan

Quote
Pakistan on Monday announced an agreement with China to use Chinese currency for bilateral trade to end the burden of relying on U.S. dollars.

'China and Pakistan agreed to start trading in the yuan instead of the dollar,' Fawad Chaudhry, minister of information, told reporters in Islamabad.

This agreement, reached during the Pakistani premier’s current visit to China, would help Pakistan get rid of the dollar burden in $15 billion of bilateral trade, he added.

Imran Khan’s four-day official visit to China is ending Monday.

The move to Chinese currency would also help both countries replace the U.S. dollar for their transactions and investment in the multi-billion dollar China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

This June, the State Bank of Pakistan formally allowed both public and private enterprises to use Chinese currency for bilateral trade and investment activities.

China and Russia ditch dollar in move toward 'financial alliance

Quote
Russia and China are partnering to reduce their dependence on the dollar -- a development some experts say could lead to a "financial alliance" between them.

In the first quarter of 2020, the dollar's share of trade between Russia and China fell below 50% for the first time on record, according to recent data from Russia's Central Bank and Federal Customs Service.

The greenback was used for only 46% of settlements between the two countries. At the same time, the euro made up an all-time high of 30%, while their national currencies accounted for 24%, also a new high.

Russia and China have drastically cut their use of the dollar in bilateral trade over the past several years. As late as 2015, approximately 90% of bilateral transactions were conducted in dollars. Following the outbreak of the U.S.-China trade war and a concerted push by both Moscow and Beijing to move away from the dollar, however, the figure had dropped to 51% by 2019.

Alexey Maslov, director of the Institute of Far Eastern Studies at the Russian Academy of Sciences, told the Nikkei Asian Review that the Russia-China "dedollarization" was approaching a "breakthrough moment" that could elevate their relationship to a de facto alliance.
1612  Economy / Services / Re: [CFNP] whirlwind.money | Redefining Mixing | Signature Campaign ~Up to $150/week on: March 29, 2023, 04:30:50 AM

Clearnet link will be online in the following days, please use the Tor version for now.
whirlwind.money is online, but they try to avoid using cloudflare/ddos guar, which means they might have a hard time getting rid of DDOS if the site becomes popular.
Either they have a team to deal with this headache or the site will be a gateway to Tor just as chipmixer did in its last days.

Clearnet version is online at whirlwind.money. Please keep in mind that we are not using cloudflare/ddos guard and never will since we believe it's inappropriate for a platform of this type (regardless if we assume the end-user takes proper security precautions), so the clearnet link may be down at times. We implemented a custom protection, but there is only so much you can do without a CDN. If the clearnet link is unavailable please use the Tor version, there shouldn't be any issues with that at any point unless we announce maintenance beforehand.

1613  Bitcoin / Legal / Canada Requires Pension Funds to Disclose Crypto Risks on: March 29, 2023, 04:24:53 AM
Quote
Canada's national government said federally regulated pension funds in the country will need to disclose their crypto assets exposure to the Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions (OSFI), as Ottawa tightens its regulatory oversight on the volatile industry.

"To help protect Canadians’ retirements, Budget 2023 announces that the government will require federally regulated pension funds to disclose their crypto-asset exposures to OSFI," the government said in the new 2023 budget plan. The federal government will also work with provinces and territories to discuss crypto-asset or related activities disclosures by the country's largest pension plans, which would ensure Canadians are aware of their pension plan’s potential exposure to crypto assets, the budget plan added.

Why have so many governments become so serious about crypto investments? It all started in the United States and is now in Canada.
Is it all because of FTX?

1614  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: You should write two copies of your seed phrase. on: March 29, 2023, 03:53:52 AM
like a natural disaster.
I created this thread a while ago, it will be useful in case of earthquakes  Is Metal Seed Storage Safe in an Earthquake? .

The problem of creating more than one wallet seed with earthquakes is in distributing them, you will be forced to keep one of them away from you or your home and perhaps your geographical area, which increases the risk that someone else will be able to know it.

is remembering 12 words that hard?
It is especially difficult, and with the ease of using technology in everything, our dependence on our brains has become less. I do not remember my keys easily, but supposing it is easy, there are problems beyond your control. I will quote some of them from o_e_l_e_o:

Each year:

69 million traumatic brain injuries: https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/29701556/
12 million strokes: https://www.world-stroke.org/assets/downloads/WSO_Global_Stroke_Fact_Sheet.pdf
10 million new diagnoses of dementia: https://www.who.int/news-room/fact-sheets/detail/dementia
5 million new diagnoses of epilepsy: https://www.who.int/news-room/fact-sheets/detail/epilepsy
2.5 million cases of meningitis: https://www.path.org/articles/toward-world-without-meningitis/
2 million new brain tumors: https://academic.oup.com/noa/article/3/1/vdaa178/6043315
1.5 million cases of encephalitis: https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0163445322002110

That's each year, and that's only major conditions which directly affect the brain.

1615  Economy / Speculation / Re: [POLL] MtGox distribution, early payment or full payment? on: March 29, 2023, 03:38:27 AM
With the mtgox distribution constantly being pushed back, it’s possible they aren’t getting enough people registering for payment distributions to meet their expectations. This leads me to believe the final BTC payout if you wait could be much higher than the early lump sum payout. Would you wait and try to get the most BTC possible or select early payout to get this behind you?

You will not get a clear answer to this question, and some may choose to get cash now and have logical reasons such as:

  • Investment in Bitcoin was purely serendipitous.
  • Does not believe in the future value of Bitcoin.
  • Doubts that he will get anything in the future.
  • Changes may occur in the future that make waiting a long time.
  • Needs cash now.
  • Buys Bitcoin at the current price and invests it instead of waiting for a long time (a bird in the hand, not 10 in the tree)
  • Doesn't like stress or being in a long process.

you will get many logical reasons form the same person, given that the reasons above may differ from one person to another, and we cannot blame someone for choosing one of these things.
1616  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Seeking Advice from the Community! My Experience with AppleBitcoins.com on: March 27, 2023, 02:20:19 AM
Are you serious about risking more than $500 to get a 15% discount?
Domain name alone is enough to raise doubts, the website design does not look professional, and if they deliver the first order, you will be scammed at some point.

The pictures on the site are all from the internet, and there is no pictures from their store.
They do not display legal data or commercial registration number.
A clear policy in the event of defects or refunds.
Paying in Bitcoins only is another reason to raise suspicion, they try to disguise themselves by avoiding accepting PayPal or any other reversible payment method.
Exaggerated discounts are another reason to be suspicious.
1617  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Any problems with *CHIPMIXER* coins? on: March 26, 2023, 06:09:28 PM
Who? I only found OmegaStarScream,
During the past week, 4 staff members were deleted from two different mixer campaigns at the same time, and I don't think they were removed because of the quality of their posts as two of the members were advertising for one of the campaigns for more than a month.

It's assumptions and I may be obsessed with what happened, maybe I should stay away from thinking about this case. Grin

YAh, another topic about mixers.
*My friend* has some coins that were mixed during the past years, moved them into cold storage, and he wants to sell them in the future.
Are there any complaints about closing KYCed accounts, tax reports or problems that resulted from depositing ChipMixer mixed coins? Specifically after ChipMixer.com has been seized.
