1601  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Anyone here living full time on cryptocurrencies? Can you give guidance? on: October 24, 2017, 01:48:16 PM
i am not, and i don't think if anyone is really doing it is going to come out and give you numbers, publicly!

and you shouldn't even ask these questions about specific "numbers" either in my experience.

if you want to really start living full time on cryptocurrencies, aka by trading them, then i suggest starting small and starting now. start trading, investing or however else you already know to earn money. invest  a small amount of money. a couple of hundreds should suffice.
then after a couple of months (6 for example) come back and reevaluate your performance in the past months. if you earned enough profit (%) to be satisfied then go bigger an go full time.

otherwise just have it as a secondary option, you'll sleep better at nights. trust me.
1602  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: can we trust our private keys with glatinum ? (windows wallet for bitcoin gold) on: October 24, 2017, 01:39:10 PM
it is a scam

first and most important reason is that bitcoin gold is not even ready yet. the specification that a wallet needs to use to sign a transaction is not yet set (i am talking about replay protection and the sighash they should use like bitcoin cash). so a wallet can not release something already but you can find a .exe on their website!

secondly, it is closed source! it has no source code, no github repository, nothing! it is just a binary on a random website that anyone can create as cheap as possible. and it is poorly designed which means the scammer wanted to not even waste time!

if you download this it will most probably broadcast your private keys easily to the scammer or maybe even spends your bitcoin and bitcoin gold both by sending all you have to the scammer's wallet.
1603  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Richest Saudi's Prince Statement on: October 24, 2017, 01:30:43 PM
it is scary to know that whales like this are buying bitcoin and buying a lot of it. and it is even scarier to know that they know spreading FUD can help them buy cheaper coins and make more money out of the bitcoin market by manipulating it like this!

i wish we could find a way to flush these whales out or at least decrease their power.
1604  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Gold schedule Fork on: October 24, 2017, 01:22:35 PM
Yes, they will tell us that it is better, faster, cheaper then original bitcoin.
it won't be faster because it uses the same block time.
it won't be better because it really didn't add anything or change anything meaningful.
it is cheaper as all the rest of the altcoins are cheaper

But I am pretty sure that it will not even rise as much as bitcoin-cash did.
according to charts bitcoin cash went up to 0.224BTC or 914$ by that time. and that was the second pump
bitcoin gold went up to 0.2BTC or nearly 1100$ so BTG has already surpassed BCH once, and this was the initial rise not the pump itself! Grin
1605  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 2nd chance at Bitcoin? on: October 24, 2017, 01:15:25 PM
why are you talking about 2010?
i have started a long time after that and i am still in a big profit that satisfies me greatly.

but please make sure to remember that it is not just about profit and making more fiat out of bitcoin. try to become more familiar with bitcoin and see what it is. use it as a currency some time even if you buy something worth $5 and see how it works. you will see that it is much more valuable than just some XX dollars.
1606  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Strategy amidst the looming BitcoinGold Fork? on: October 22, 2017, 01:48:08 PM
Thanks for your points of interest! Any personal picks on good alt to pickup after fork? I've been keeping my eye on the usual suspects, but I think a good hidden gem could be KORE.
i try no to decide too fast about these things. today we saw bitcoin dip unexpectedly and these "usual suspects" recovered a little.

but i will keep my eyes open and watch the prices and volumes to see which one is showing more "potential".
i am also known to be a hardcore LTC hodler too and if bitcoin drops LTC usually goes up against it Wink

Def not going to move my BTC to yobit, hells no. lol. I am using Exodus wallet, been pretty happy with them.
i am going to risk it with 0.5BTC because i already have it there LOL

there are some more wallets and exchanges listed on their website (btcgpu.org). i saw it myself today.
1607  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How could Chinese people trade cryptocurrency after it is banned by Gov? on: October 21, 2017, 12:43:35 PM
people mostly trade altcoins with bitcoin and since bitcoin is not banned and has no problem with deposit and withdrawal since it is decentralized unlike fiat, people can continue doing that.

also as far as i know China never banned trading or all the exchanges. you can still use localbitcoins,... to buy p2p with your fiat. the rate should not be that high since the BTC/CNY tanked
1 BTC = 37580 CNY = 5676 USD (according to Huobi)
1608  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: SegWit2x and Bitcoin Gold on: October 21, 2017, 12:25:07 PM
As all we know SegWit2x is going to happen on Oct 25th.
no, we all don't know that because SegWit2x is scheduled for November not October. and it falls in mid November.
the Oct. 25 is is called bitcoin gold.

Quote
My question is will we get equivalent amount of money we hold in our wallets at the time of fork, like if we have $1000 in wallet, we will receive $1000 of Bitcoin gold?
do because nobody is giving you anything for holding $$$, so if you hold $1000 in your wallet you still have $1000 in your wallet.

however if you hold bitcoin in your bitcoin wallet by the time of fork you will receive the same amount in bitcoin gold!

Quote
Coinbase and Blockchain will support this too or not as Blockchain has already accepted BCH.
if by blockchain you mean the website called blockchain.info which happens to offer a wallet to, then they have not yet announced anything to my knowledge so they may not "support" it, but you still can claim your BTG since you own the private keys there.
1609  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Top 3 cryptocurrencies on: October 21, 2017, 12:17:44 PM
so many newbie account are saying ethereum to this repeated question Cheesy
let me check, or right ETH price has been falling pretty hard again! currently at 0.048 which is 70% lower than what it was at the ATH (0.155) not 4 months ago!

the dollar value is no better either! from $400.38 down to $295.64

so yeah, awesome investment...
1610  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Strategy amidst the looming BitcoinGold Fork? on: October 21, 2017, 12:07:08 PM
1. Cease trading altcoin one week before fork. Check.
there is no need to completely cease altcoin trading just because they are getting dumped. there is also profit to made in dumped altcoins like by shorting.
besides there are others which rise. see Vertcoin for example, it was pumped!

Quote
2. HODL the Bitcoin throughout the forking event (10/25 - 11/01).
now you are speaking my language Wink

Quote
3. After the event, move the Bitcoin into fiat for temporary safekeeping, as Bitcoin may lose a lot of value after the fork.
this is a good strategy and i will be doing this too. but with my trading funds not with my stash. never with my stash actually.

Quote
4. Dump the BGold and collect the ca$h.
i will be dumping some BTG at least but i have some long term prediction about this which makes me want to hold some too.
i have not decided how much and what i will do yet though.
you can read my thoughts here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2254572.0

Quote
5. Pickup cheap altcoin after the fork!
a little risky but a good option if you can pick up those which have a good chance of big rise.

Quote
1. I cannot find a stable or trustworthy BGold wallet. Has anyone found one? I imagine there will be many shady wallets out there, just waiting to rip off our precious coins.
the code was not exactly finished last i checked! there is only their github repository which you can clone and build yourself. find the link on btcgpu.org there may be wallets by 24-25th.

there is also exchanges that "may" credit 1:1 BTG for your BTC. yobit already said they will but it is yobit, AKA a shitty exchange.

Quote
2. Will the price of Bitcoin really go down after the fork? With the Segwit 2x split following closely after, I don't think there will be as big of a dump as I originally thought. It may go down a couple hundred bucks, only to pickup momentum again.
there will surely be a correction, there is no doubt about it. and a correction is a couple of hundred bucks drop.
then since people expect the drop it may get bigger. some also may be in it only for BTG so they may go out after the fork so the dip may go deeper.

the 2x stuff is another story though. the drop may be tiny or may be huge. we shall wait and see.

Quote
3. The above is the "herd mentality". I think everyone plans to follow this strategy. Isn't it best to move against the grain to win?
not everyone but if enough people do, there will be a small dip and that is enough to follow this strategy.

Quote
4. Will BGold have value after all the dust settles? I think there are a lot of GPU miners out there just waiting to put their hardware back to work. Of course the coin will DUMP right out of the gate, but maybe it is wiser to HODL for a while?
my thoughts exactly Roll Eyes
1611  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The reason why I hate BITCOIN on: October 21, 2017, 11:58:00 AM
I was asked by a friend why I don't promote Bitcoin { why i hated it} but love promoting altcoins. My reply was that Bitcoin can't give me 1000-5000% ROI in 2-3years time anymore but with altcoin that is possible.

bitcoin has given me 3966.66% profit in 2-3 years just by holding it.

altcoin on the other hand go down in 2-3 years but they are getting pumped (1000%-5000%) in a couple of months for example if my memory serves, ripple was pumped about 6700% in 3 months and it is all down-hill from there and will continue getting dumped the rest of the year too.

but that is just my observation, you can promote, invest, dump,... anything you like.

Quote
I notice that each time I promote Bitcoin, I'm giving the early investors easy passive income why I settle for chicken gain.
you "promoting" or not, doesn't change anything about bitcoin.
the people who are buying bitcoin now and have been doing it for 8 years are not doing it because you or others like you promoted it.

Quote
Honestly I will prefer $50,000 in altcoins (with possible potential, underpriced and undervalued) than in Bitcoin.

Do you hate Bitcoin? Give reasons why you do or don't
then do that.
it is always best to invest what you think is better not what others think is better.
1612  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Which ALTCOIN do you think x1000 in next 2 year on: October 20, 2017, 10:56:35 AM
if people already knew or had a way of finding out which coin is going up 1000x at the present time then that coin would have already gone up 1000x because all those who knew would have bough it Grin

in any case, look for coins that will go up 1000x in in 2 months not 2 years. you will have a better luck.
1613  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Anyone else takes screenshots of Coinmarketcap every now and then? on: October 20, 2017, 10:49:35 AM
that is a cool idea, and as a BitcoinHolder i am all for these kinds of long term stuff.

and i don't want to disappoint you or anything but what you are storing is already available online Roll Eyes
for example you can visit any exchange that gives you historic data and use that to draw a line chart or even like poloniex get the OHLC data and draw an OHLC chart.
example for XMR from their API doc:
https://poloniex.com/public?command=returnChartData&currencyPair=BTC_XMR&start=1405699200&end=9999999999&period=14400

there is also bitcoinity where you can get market cap or price and other stuff in CSV format (only for bitcoin though).
1614  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why Bitcoin Cash will NEVER be bitcoin on: October 20, 2017, 10:36:11 AM
you are being too emotional in my opinion Cheesy
bitcoin cash is not bitcoin simply because the majority did NOT want it to be bitcoin. if majority wanted it to be bitcoin it would have been bitcoin.

that is how bitcoin works and must always work. based on consensus of the majority. this is all the miners and users and businesses. generally anyone involved!

saying it was "not founded by Satoshi Nakamoto" is a silly reason in my opinion. the bitcoin we are using today is not what was created in 2009. it has evolved ever since. always based on the same consensus i talked about.
1615  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Buzz: Get Rich Quick Without Working on: October 20, 2017, 10:27:11 AM
all i can say is that some people LOVE to call bitcoin a bubble. it really doesn't matter what the price is, why it is there, how low or high it is,... they just close their eyes and call bitcoin a "bubble".

i don't really remember this but i wouldn't be surprised to find out that some of the same people were saying bitcoin is a bubble back when price went down to $150 back in 2014!

the funny thing is that real economists say you can not call something a bubble until it bursts and price comes down.
Quote
Because it is often difficult to observe intrinsic values in real-life markets, bubbles are often conclusively identified only in retrospect, once a sudden drop in prices has occurred
1616  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Litecoin on: October 19, 2017, 12:33:52 PM
I think so too. Bitcoin will be overwelmed by fear because of hardforks. A lot of money will come to litecoin since it is thought to be safe in such situations. Many people think so. So you can bet for it like me.

from early days people have been forking bitcoin and others have been saying the same as you just said. and bitcoin never even felt their presence!

you can already see from the bitcoin price that last time when bitcoin cash was a thing, price had a hard time rising. but this time despite bitcoin gold price is rising so much faster! it shows people are caring less and less each time someone repeats the mistake of the pasts.
1617  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What are the best altcoin to hold for long term and why? on: October 19, 2017, 12:25:18 PM
nothing.

because most altcoins do not have long term potential. the long term potential is not just more people wanting to invest in that altcoin. but instead there should be a reason why more people want to invest in it.

so far altcoins are just tokens and every day a new token comes with the potential of taking the market out of the hands old ones. and investors love new coins better because a coin that is not yet over-bought, over-pumped, and has a low price has a lot more potential of rising than something that is already on top.
1618  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is not the new gold, Goldman Sachs says on: October 19, 2017, 12:12:02 PM
of course it is not! bitcoin is something much better than gold!

while gold is just an element which happens to have value, bitcoin is a digital currency which is also decentralized and it has been a revolution since it has already changed the way currency system works.

before bitcoin nobody could even think of a decentralized money that no government controls! now we have bitcoin and thanks to it another thousands of other altcoins.
1619  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin gold hard fork - detailed explanation on: October 19, 2017, 12:04:32 PM
Those who invest in Altcoins do not like the fork that will happen on October 25th. Economically I lost money just for reason. The fork that will be on October 25th is the final split for bitcoin. I am sure the division on 25 October will never be in the last division. Bitcoin needs to be divided into at least 10 pieces. Just kidding Smiley

"division", "split",... these aren't really happening though!
go check out what has changed about bitcoin so far! exactly nothing. bitcoin is still one thing and majority knows one thing as bitcoin. all the rest has been forgotten and became a page in the history.
these forks are not "splitting" bitcoin, they are simply creating an altcoin. and this has been happening for a long time. everyone wants to have the name "bitcoin" in their crap coin.
1620  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Death of Bitcoin on: October 19, 2017, 11:57:39 AM
bitcoin is maintained by core developers, would Bitcoin die a natural death if the developers no longer exist? Or if they stop maintaining/developing/upgrading the system?

bitcoin is not a physical machine to age as it works and need "maintaining"! it can continue to work as it is for may years without any issues. all the things you see are "additions" and although they have helped bitcoin's future but none of them were necessary for its survival.

besides, did you think there are only a handful of programmers in the world?

oh, and by the way stop centralizing bitcoin
